AI Show NotesSummaryIn this episode of Devil's Trap Podcast, Diana and Liz discuss their recent household projects, their experience at a Brazilian steakhouse, and their weekend activities. They also review the Supernatural episode 'Devil May Care' and discuss the themes of possession, demon hierarchy, and the Winchester brothers' plan to kill all demons. Abaddon, the queen of hell, makes a comeback and recruits demons to join her in a coup against Crowley. The episode ends with a mysterious scene involving dead cows and a military base. In this part of the conversation, the hosts discuss the inconsistencies in the portrayal of military uniforms in the show. They also question the presence of an Army specialist on a Navy base and the use of FBI agents in a military case. The hosts then talk about the introduction of a new character, Tracy, and her confrontational attitude towards the Winchesters. They discuss the use of sex-tortion as a tactic and the need for the military to address issues of bad behavior. The conversation then shifts to Kevin's interaction with Crowley and the manipulation tactics used by the demon. The hosts also discuss the abandoned town setting and the fight scenes between the Winchesters and the demons. The chapter ends with Dean's conflicted feelings about Ezekiel and his trust in the angel. In this episode, Sam and Dean encounter two hunters, Pete and Tracy, who are on the hunt for Abaddon. However, their methods and motives are questionable. Meanwhile, Zeke tries to convince Sam that he is one of the good guys, and Dean covers up Zeke's presence by lying to Sam. Kevin, feeling betrayed by the Winchesters, decides to leave and search for his missing mother. The episode sets up the ongoing storylines for the season, including the conflict with Abaddon and the mystery surrounding Kevin's mother.Chapters00:00Introduction and Household Projects02:46Review of Supernatural Episode 'Devil May Care'05:27Weekend Activities and Recap of Abaddon's Return09:12Exploring the Meaning of 'Devil May Care'13:22Abaddon's Coup Against Crowley19:17Locking Crowley in the Dungeon23:21The Mystery of the Dead Cows25:07Navy Base and the Bus Incident27:52Dean's Phone Call and Abaddon's Plan30:06Discussion of Military Uniforms and Dead Cows33:38Confrontation and Sex-tortion Tactics35:37Kevin's Vulnerability and Crowley's Manipulation38:44The Eerie Atmosphere of the Abandoned Town49:50Intense Fight Scenes with the Demons58:54Dean's Conflicted Feelings about EzekielThis podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Chartable - https://chartable.com/privacy

Happy Halloween! He's Clare, a baron with a very expensive contractor's bill and a suspicious number of black armbands in his wardrobe. She's Lucy, a sheltered seventeen year old girl with a big inheritance and absolutely no friends anywhere. What a great combination! It's Greygallows by Barbara Michaels, who is also Elizabeth Peters and Barbara Mertz and probably a ton of other names - you may remember that we did an episode on her Devil May Care last year for Halloween, and that book has a guest appearance from the actual Christian devil! Old Scratch! The Father of Lies! The Prince of Darkness! This one, sadly, does not - but it's a delightful read and a great book for spooky season. Fair warning, it includes some extremely realistic and therefore disturbing depictions of spousal abuse, most notably the scariest gaslighting I've seen in a book in a long time but also financial, emotional, and physical abuse with some attempted murder thrown in. It's not gratuitous at all - it's very well done and the heroine's legal helplessness under 19th century British law is definitely a major point of the book, but it is definitely going to hit too close to home for some people.
This was so much fun we forget we were recording! After fuelling up a starving Sother with one of Will Wyatt's preposterously good Electric Burritos, Sother kicks off by spilling the tea on Trap Cocktails, Maxwell Britten, and his firm's soon-to-open African diaspora restaurant, Ubuntu. We discuss the joys of vegan food both at the DIG fast-casual chain and at Eleven Madison Park, Sother invents the word "proteinaceous", Phil Barlow and Coconut Cartel rum's copper ice plate gets a look in, we learn about bidding for vintage rye whiskey at Sotheby's , why modern corks are way better, and if you can even get regular Michelob any more. Just to show off, Sother becomes the first guest on the show ever to use the word "nomenclature", we explore why flair is hard but mixology is easy, rap about the joy of yummy drinks a la Leo Robitschek, why there are only a few really outstanding people in any field, how millionaires can get tax rebates in Sweden, taste some genepi, then some gin, and announce the world exclusive of Sother's forthcoming pineapple habanero mezcal hot sauce. (By the way, that quote I mentioned was in Sebastian Faulks' James Bond book "Devil May Care", not one of Anthony Horowitz's Bond books, and here it is: "The waiters in their short white coats were all Romans of a certain age who had spent a lifetime in their chosen profession. They were swift and precise in their movements, polite without being deferential." ) Love that. Chuck Brown, The Godfather of Go-Go, left this world on May 16, 2012. On the 10th anniversary of his passing, we celebrate his legacy on this episode. Chuck launched a subgenre of funk music that has a beat that just won't quit! This Grammy nominated vocalist and guitarist was, in many ways, as unique as the legandary James Brown. Multi-award winning program director Ray White sat down with Chuck in his touring R.V. in November of 2011 to learn more about the foundation of Go-Go music and other highlights of his career. Way Coool!! In our showcase segment, Lisa Davis features three awesome musicians - the legendary bluesman John Mayall whose latest album is The Sun Is Shining Down, super blues guitarist and vocalist Tinsley Ellis who just released Devil May Care and the very talented keyboardist Ron Reinhardt whose latest single features sax great Richard Elliot. From Go-Go...to Blues...to Contemporary Jazz, you'll find great variety of world-class musicians only on the Coool CAT.

Tinsley Ellis broke onto the national blues scene with his early '80s band, the Heartfixers. By late in the decade, when the Atlanta-based guitarist and singer began releasing albums under his own name, he also became a fixture in the genre's international club and festival circuit. Over the years he's earned a reputation for full-throttle live shows and well-crafted albums that hinge on his powerful singing and on his playing, which is based in tradition but packed with signature moves like deft finger slides, the use of open, ringing strings in single-note solos, and bends borrowed from B.B. King but laden with his own emotionalism and rock 'n' roll energy. Ellis has been a seemingly tireless road warrior—at least until Covid. But even the pandemic couldn't slow his songwriting, and he penned more than 200 new titles while in lockdown. You can hear 10 of those tunes, including 6-string bonfires like “Slow Train To Hell,” on his new album Devil May Care—the 20th in his catalog. Back on the road this year, Ellis stopped at Nashville's 3rd & Lindsley on March 3, where he showed Premier Guitar his rig and told stories of close encounters with B.B. King and other greats after soundcheck and, that night, delivered a sermon on the power and glory of blues. His current run continues until the end of May, and Ellis has just been nominated in the 2022 Blues Music Awards for Blue-Rock Entertainer of the Year. For about 40 years Tinsley Ellis has lived his life on the road, either driving to a gig, setting up, performing, tearing down, or driving to the next gig. Ellis made himself legendary as a touring machine, and an icon of the Atlanta blues scene. Then came COVID-19. In March 2020, halfway through a 60-gig jaunt promoting his album “Ice Cream in Hell,” everything fell apart, all the clubs canceled, and Ellis drove home from Northern California in one, long, painful, three-day burst. On this week's podcast, Bo Emerson talks to Ellis about the difficulties of being a touring musician in the pandemic era, returning to the road and his new album “Devil May Care.”

It's Episode 100 and you know what that means! We open with a trip down memory lane, along with some new stories, to recap our first 100 episodes (00:00 - 22:39) We are then joined by Rachel Wilkinson from One Great City Brewing for a Flight and a Pint of Movie Villians! Contentious energies run rampant as a certain member of the podcast is viciously attacked and is currently considering legal action against the people he kindly welcomed into his home for their complete disregard for basic decency (22:42 - 1:24:53) Finally, Rachel returns and joins us for a further contentious Beer Review! We cover the Cosmic Wave (Tofino Brewing), the Psycho Thrill Seeker (Flying Monkeys), the Kettle Sour (Blindman Brewing), Nothing but the Hops V. 7 (Devil May Care), and the Project Mayhem (Sookrams)! (1:24:56 - 1:53:50)
Episode 1 takes a fresh look at daycare.Episode 2 offers a green solution to farming.

There is real value in cultivating a devil-may-care attitude-- of knowing that even when you face a setback or a bad break, you'll survive it. Key topics:✔️ My "old school hippie" friends and how they approach life.✔️ Having personal time to detach from your business is so important. You don't have to work 24/7/365 to be successful. ✔️ It really is true that when one door closes, another one will open.✔️ You don't have to know "how." Worrying about how something will work out or how the next client is going to show up or the next business deal will emerge for you will suck valuable time and energy out of your life.Need more? In this episode we again get grossed out by Malcolm's constant eating, we touch on his time in hell and debate what Hogwarts house Dan belongs to, after his heroic escape. Linda tells us about what being good truly means and Chloe is here to yet again prove to us how good of a cop she is. In the end we again repeatedly request your feedback for our Summoning episode (yes, it is a thing now, it has been named, get over it, with love), so send all you opinions to lucifer@taot-podcast.com .
