Another Friday, another Taurus Tech Talk! This week we kick off a brand-new series called ‘Getting to Know Taurus'. The idea behind this series is to show off all the personalities that make Taurus such a special place to work. We start the series off with one of the biggest personalities in the office, Tim O'Quinn. Tim has been with Taurus for just over 7 years and currently leads the design team, where he works with the sales to ensure the client's vision come to life. In the podcast we covered some of the hard-hitting topics of today such as why Tim is not an Astronaut or The President, what Tim's spirit animal is, and why he is always quoting Space Balls on sales calls. Thank you, Tim for taking part in the podcast, and thank you for making sure there is never a dull day at Taurus.

Terry O’Quinn, of Lost and Emergence fame, is one of the most compelling character actors of his generation. Dr. Alan Campbell explores the craft of acting with this singular talent. O'Quinn even plays a little guitar for Alan. This episode first aired on October 17, 2019.
Lauren O'Quinn is a very close friend of mine that is filled with talent and knowledge on many things. But she knows the acting industry inside and out. People ask me all the time "How do I get into acting." as well as many other questions about the industry. This amazing woman breaks down the industry and shares some amazing incite.* Why and how she got into acting.* What was her first break.* How working an office job helped her create and run her successful acting school.* What being an acting agent feels like.* How one class changed her life forever. * The one thing every person needs to succeed in the acting industry.* What you should NEVER do is you are asked in the acting industry.* 3 giant warning flags to avoid when getting into the industry. * Why an acting class is important even if you don't want to be a professional actor.
Well, what more could you ask for than an 80’s throwback to Terry O’Quinn murdering multiple families? Nothing? Well good, because that’s what we got with this week’s film, “The Stepfather.” Maybe not the best piece of slasher cinema we’ve experienced, but enjoyable on certain fronts nonetheless. With a “rent” from Ryan and a “stream” from Tim, we agree Mr. O’Quinn pretty single-handedly holds the film together. Plus, if you want to hear Tim go on an intense 45 second rant, get on into this episode to find out what 80's slasher trope got him so worked up! Where we watched: Amazon rental RecommenDEADtions: Krisha / My Favorite Murder Ep. 29 "John List" The Stepfather (1987) Directed by Joseph Ruben Written by Donald E. Westlake
Furkan Korkmaz was mad that he wasn’t playing enough so he wanted to be traded, the Sixers then didn’t pick up his rookie option. He became an unrestricted free agent, and no one wanted him, but the Sixers couldn’t find anyone else, so they re-signed him. That’s what made the game winner so sweet. We discuss the Portland game, the Horford screen, O’Quinn passing, and Anfernee Simons. We also talk about whether Embiid should cool it in a number of ways.

#HereTheyCome #PhilaUnite

At a rehearsal in the Woodfin dance studio of the Asheville Ballet , Rebecca O'Quinn is watching two middle-aged women rehearse a duet O'Quinn created around the prop of an overstuffed loveseat. "They kind of take turns running around the couch and flipping over the couch, and are in relationship with each other, and it's not clear what the relationship is," she said of this dance work, part of an Asheville Ballet program May 17-18 at Diana Wortham Theatre in Asheville. That unclear relationship could be a metaphor for O'Quinn's own artistic path.

Rutger Hauer is again the subject to our discerning eye, or possibly wrath, it may be wrath. Phillip (Salt, Bone Collector) Noyce directs Blind Fury (1989), a film loosely based on Zatoichi. A Vietnam veteran blinded during the war comes to town to bury some ghosts of the past and gets drawn into a drug ring that has devastated his friend's family. Good thing he was trained by local villagers while he was missing in action to be a master swordsman. The bad guys will definitely pay in this action, comedy starring Rutger Hauer, Terry O'Quinn, Branden Call, Noble Willingham, Nick Cassavetes, Rick Overton, Randall "Tex Cobb, and Sho Kosugi! Starting in another genre—soap operas—Kerry and his partner built a publishing powerhouse and expanded to magazines like Cinematic, Future Life, Starlog, and Fangoria, which is still being published today. In this episode of Saturday Morning Trek, host Aaron Harvey is joined by O’Quinn to share how he was writing a blog before there was such a thing, how he brought Star Trek and Star Wars together, and why so many people told him he was going to hell. Maybe he will run into Lucien there! Friend, Kerry! The LGBT world has evolved so much over the past few years with topics such as gay marriage, transgender talks, human rights, adoption and overall acceptance that we are all one. On the heels of the interview with Diane Sawyer, Bruce Jenner publically came out as a transgender woman gaining over 30 million viewers. Daytime's "The Bold and the Beautiful" has taken on the transgender world by revealing in a shocking twist that a character is a transgender woman. Laverne Cox is leading the way with her story and Daytime Emmy win this weekend for "The T Word," a docu-series about the transgender community. Tonight, I sit down with David O'Quinn, author of "Who I Am, What I Want," to talk about his new book about transgender love along with David's very own personal story and announcement regarding this very topic. Not only is this topic important to David, but I am lucky to call David a friend. To buy David's book, be sure to click HERE and follow David on Twitter HERE.

David Michael O'Quinn grew up in Western MA despite being the only black, gay kid in a mainly white, straight town. At 30 he decided to move to Boston and took baby steps into his lifelong dreams. First he dabbled in background acting, but ultimately completing the book he started when he was 17 "Who I Am and What I Want" (available on iTunes, Barnes & Noble Online, the Nook, Amazon, and the Kindle). He had been watching movies/TV shows since he was 11. "In the summer I usually see 2 movies per week. And I currently own close to 300 DVDs including series boxsets." In bringing his gift of gab to the masses as of November 2013 he joined both "Talk Soap" and "The Spilled Tea" as co-host. His passion for acting came from watching soaps which he began watching June 1992. "Guiding Light" was his favorite soap and from 2005-2009 he went to the Guiding Light Fan Club Luncheon with his mother. Meeting his idol Kim Zimmer inspired him. Since GL went off the air in September 2009 he's followed all the 4 remaining soaps on-air (Y&R, B&B, GH, and Days), and has been an avid fan of nuAMC online.
