In this episode of the "PGP for Crypto Podcast," host Paul Brigner of Electric Coin Co. and guest Ryan Polk from the Internet Society delve into the critical importance of encryption for online security and privacy. The discussion spans from the history of encryption debates, including the 'crypto wars' of the 1990s, to the increasing adoption of end-to-end encryption by major tech companies. However, they also highlight the ongoing threats to encryption, both in the U.S. and globally, due to various legislative efforts aimed at public safety and surveillance. The conversation underscores the tension between individual privacy and governmental oversight, particularly as encryption becomes increasingly vital for secure communication and financial transactions like cryptocurrencies. They discuss the role of advocacy groups like the Global Encryption Coalition in coordinating efforts to counteract these challenges. Ryan Polk outlines specific U.S. bills and international legislation that could undermine encryption, emphasizing the need for a balanced approach that respects both security and individual freedoms. This episode serves as a comprehensive guide to understanding the current landscape of encryption and its implications, making it a must-listen for anyone interested in tech policy, online security, and the future of digital communication. You have decided to launch a website for a product or service that your business is currently providing, only to realize that a mere description of the product (or service) and some hyperlinks are not sufficient enough to warrant success in reaching your target audience. Your website suffers from low visitor count and as a consequence, your profit and sales do not reach their true potential. The reason for this is that you are not properly taking advantage of the greatest marketing tool out there; the Internet. What is required for a business website to be successful? Here is where content writing comes into the equation. Content writing is writing with the purpose of reaching specific target audiences in order to: a) inform readers about a specific product or service offered by your business, b) promote your product or service in any way conceivable; For example, content writing could suggest possible usage of a product outside its “normal” perceived or advertised uses, and most importantly c) to ultimately sway the reader towards making a purchase. Good content writing or its absence thereof can make or break an online business. In order to achieve said goals, content writing needs to be creative, fresh, engaging and informative. Content however, need not be directly limited to your product. It can be content that is indirectly relevant to your business yet relevant enough to guarantee visitation to your website. A high visitor count does not only guarantee high target-audience accessibility and readability, it also comes with many other benefits. Other successful online businesses might want to affiliate with your business and could bring even more readers to your website, or online ad agencies would want to place advertisements on your website for a fee, thus making your whole online venture even more profitable. A website needs to be constantly active and “alive”, meaning that it must be updated with new and relevant content on a frequent basis to draw in more potential readers/customers and keep old customers visiting. A business must not solely focus on new customers alone, because the truth of the matter is that a satisfied and engaged customer is a returning customer. Another important thing to know about successful content writing, is how to choose and include the most sought out search-engine keywords into your content according to keyword density and other relevant factors. This will enable your content to appear in the search results of a user searching Google, or any other search engine of their preference for something that is relevant to the product or service you are selling. Relevance is key to success. If your business is following an Integrated Marketing Communications approach and strategy, it is a wise tactic to coordinate your website's content with the Advertising, PR and Social Media marketing departments. These techniques and management of IMC, can be quite successful if all of the departments responsible for promoting your product work in unison and harmony.
This episode is also brought to you by Sendlane. Using Social Chat is easy - it's a one-click install on a Shopify store or embedding a widget to get started, says Social Chat Founder Frost Li. "Usually, the customers can start using it within the same week once they already have the content prepared," Frost says. Making the content itself is usually something the brand tackles, but the nice thing about live shopping events is that the content creates itself, she says. And this type of content usually has a much higher conversion rate. Brand identity is critical for consistent sales engagement, Frost says. Frost says that one recent client had a 66 percent higher purchase rate when using Social Chat. Live shopping sessions and widgets also lead to a higher average order value. One client reports order values were up 260 percent after a live shopping session. "We just give users the relevant content they like, and they purchase - way more, and they come back way more," Frost says. Future plans include concierge features and sales representatives that can take one-on-one appointments. In Part 2, Frost talks about: * How the onboarding process works. * The beauty of using live shopping events as content. * The importance of brand identity. * Results recent clients are reporting. * How machine learning works. * Future services that are in the works. * Other available integrations. Everything is rapidly changing. From the economic environment to the political landscape, the unpredictability of current events is calling marketers to be more nimble and flexible in their copywriting to suit the collective consciousness. So even with all the ups and downs, how can you keep and grow your audience with your messaging? Tune in to this new episode of The Conscious Marketer podcast — Relevant Content with Kylie Slavik and Richard Taubinger. Key points covered in this episode: ✔️ Speak into what people are going through. Tie aspirational concepts to real-world issues. For example, what are the benefits of expanding one's consciousness to someone's finances? Physical health? Relationships? ✔️ Lead people to their goals. What do they want to achieve? What are their needs? How can we help them through our messaging? Help people feel more in control of their choices. ✔️ Sell the outcomes, not the method. Consider this when marketing your new framework, course, or service. Aim to elevate others out of a rut. Shiny new resources are worthless if they don't encourage people to move. ✔️ Bring energy to your community. Humans are spiritual beings with so much untapped potential. DTRH Episode 44 How to Gain a Following & Generate Relevant Content Ft. Thomas "Ai Nerd" Helfrich Gaining a following and generating constant content that maintains your digital relevance is more challenging than it sounds. What does every business, business owner, influencer, and networker need in common? To stay relevant, follow trends, and keep their audience's attention. Thomas, master of contextual relevance, and Rob talk about the best practices and technologies you can use to build your following, generate content, and become or remain relevant. Key Takeaways: Fully commit to ONE social or networking platform. Stretching yourself results in self-destruction. Don't leave "dead-end" comments or create posts that don't start a conversation. Follow and familiarize yourself with market and behavioral trends. Trends are always relevant. ALWAYS give before you get. No one likes "selfish" content or engagement. "Technology is meant to augment and enhance humans to create progress, not to replace them." - Rob Turley About Thomas "Why "Ai Nerd?" Honestly, I saw ainerd.com for sale on GoDaddy for 8.99 and bought it. True Story." Thomas is a LinkedIn Influencer with over 165k followers and the CEO of Instarel. But first, let's go back a bit... Thomas grew up in St. Louis, MO. Great town and graduated at the end of the "DotCom Boom," which seeded his career path. Once the boom was over, Thomas went from being an entrepreneur to corporate and consulting. 10 years or so of experience here showed him how companies and people make decisions, think, buy tech, implement, and support it. Enter RPA (Robotic Process Automation). This technology, once observed, fundamentally changed his trajectory. That showed him the power of tech and how it can transform businesses—especially when AI is involved. Today, Thomas is now the "Ai Nerd" at heart. He loves tech and knows how to successfully apply it in your business. He's lucky to have the gift to explain it in an "un-nerdy" way and has successfully done so for 20+ years. As an AI-innovation, intelligent automation, and LinkedIn expert, Thomas knows how to transform digital relevance into a revenue-generating machine. Feel free to connect with Thomas "Ai Nerd" Helfrich or Rob Turley on LinkedIn or follow Rob @RobTurley2 or Thomas @instarel_ai on Twitter! #DTRHpodcast #Influencing #SocialMedia #ContentStrategy #DigitalRelevance #AI #Innovation #Trends #Culture

In this episode, Gavin is in discussion with Robert Syslo of Syslo Ventures in Florida, brand and promotion experts, who offers a step-by-step guide on producing invaluable, empowering content on a day-to-day basis, and how by creating, he is able to more swiftly adopt the learnings into his own business. KEY TAKEAWAYS We can make sense of a teaching by looking for the illogical, the missing arguments in a lesson. By seeking the illogical, we create logic. Awareness of the type of content, the way in which it is presented, and most importantly, the channel through which the content is delivered, must always be considered. Content must be appropriate to its outlet Social media should not be used as a means of consumption, but as a barometer to evaluate our own feelings on a subject, which allows us to determine if it can be applicable in our own businesses and lives. By creating content, and teachings on a subject, we better learn about the subjects ourselves. The best way to learn is to teach. Consistency breeds creativity. By incorporating content creation into each moment of each day, we become a limitless generator of content. It should never be seen as a chore, but as natural as breathing. BEST MOMENTS ‘If you can open up that far then you have a limitless supply of information' ’The only businesses that will stand after COVD are those that promoted and stayed relevant’ ’Success leaves behind it a trail of clues’ ‘The brand for me, is familiarity’ ‘It’s not an idea of “I need to make time for this”, it’s part of my day. It’s a muscle' VALUABLE RESOURCES The Business Mastermind Podcast Syslo Ventures - https://sysloventures.com Robert Syslo Twitter - https://twitter.com/robertsyslojr Robert Syslo LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/robertsyslojr/ robertsyslojr@gmail.com ABOUT THE GUEST Syslo Ventures aims to increase promotion and awareness of any company, product, influencer, or service into the marketplace in order to increase sales, following, and conversions. Kae specializes in helping service providers create automated marketing systems that close the gap in leads lost, enhance their sales processes and keep customers returning through delivering an amazing experience and increasing client referrals. Kae and I met at LuAnn Live and are co-authors of the book, A Well Designed Business The Power Talk Friday Experts. She knows her stuff and is going to share with us today about email marketing, which is the subject she wrote about in the book. I am even going to share with Kae some of my hesitations with email marketing campaigns and get her take on my hang-ups. TOPICS MENTIONED: Email Spam Relevant Content Consistency THOUGHTS FROM KAE: Content is going to be created based on the temperature of your audience. Email marketing are the emails that you utilize to move people through a buying process. There are different types of email campaigns – campaigns are strategies. You have to truly understand the audience that is within your email list. Survey your list as needed. Look at your customer journey as cold, warm, and hot. Work with what is already giving you traction. Email addresses are like phone numbers. If people remain on your email list, it is because they want to hear from you. Social media is the most powerful way for us to get in front of more people and reach more people who might want our services or products. How do we create content that actually moves the needle for our businesses in a meaningful way? How much of ourselves and our lives should we be putting out there? How can we leverage social media so that it actually helps grow our business? On this episode, I’m joined by real estate broker and trainer, social media expert and entrepreneur, Marki Lemons-Ryhal, who shares on the social media trends we should be paying attention to right now. When it comes to social media and technology, there’s something new everyday. Instead of having a degree, we have to become lifelong learners. -Marki Lemons-Ryhal 3 Things We Learned From This Episode Verticalization of Content (14:18 - 16:27) We want to get into the habit of creating vertical content for Facebook and Instagram Stories. Because the videos or photos disappear so quickly, in order to get any organic traffic, we have to create and post content consistently. The goal should be to create 2 one minute videos a day: one vertical and one horizontal. How to turn social media views into leads (21:28 - 22:52) If you want to grow a following, generate leads, and add people to your list or sell a product, have a call to action in your videos and then have landing pages and lead capture forms. Why you need to keep your content within the Facebook ecosystem (24:38 - 25:05) Push people to the Facebook messenger bot so that they stay in the Facebook ecosystem. If you’re doing Facebook posts or ads and Facebook sees a link to an outside opt-in page or video, your ads cost more or they are going to go to less people. When it comes to content that will actually get a response from people, it’s all about being the authority that solves problems for our audience. Through social media, we have the best listening tool to learn about the pain points and challenges people are having. With that information, you can now come up with solutions to these problems that are cost effective and don’t take up too much time. By solving a problem that makes people engage with us, we can grow a following and ultimately our businesses. In this episode we share 5 ways to quickly create relevant content for your fans to share with you. Episode Highlights: Mission Statement What is your why? Who are you trying to reach? What are you trying to accomplish? Have a clear and centralized theme to give people a reason to listen to what you have to say. This also helps you to create relevant content for your blog, social media channels, or videos. The Communities That Convert Mission Statement: Communities that Convert teaches online community leaders how to build, sustain and use a community platform to build their businesses. Define who you serve. What do they need? Who are you and who do you help? What problems are you solving for which audience? Madalyn helps her community of social media marketers and managers through her Twitter Smarter brand. She discusses how her audience isn’t who she originally thought it would be. She emphasizes how important it is to listen to your audience. Create Content Categories Sub categories to your main topic for your blog, podcast or video program helps you to create content ideas and a calendar fast. It is also great for Search Engine Optimization as it consolidates your knowledge into buckets (hint: Google likes that) and allows you to cross-post between similar ideas. In most WordPress sites your categories can be used as a sort of blog within the blog. Here is an example of how Kami uses categories to set aside posts about the Social Media Breakfast of Houston. As an example, for Communities that Convert Madalyn and Kami created the following five categories to organize and plan content. You can click on the links below to see how the categories are starting to add up over time: Building and Managing a Community Sales and Marketing ROI and Measurement Participation and Engagement Tools Interviews Case Studies Brainstorm Content for Each Category Create specific content for each category. Organizing content categories helps create content that’s consumable by the people that care about it the most and in the ways that matters to them. This method is a great way to see where there’s a lack of content, spread out content and share content in a methodical way. Start Creating in Batches Batch content ahead of time, writing a series and breaking it into separate releases for example. Madalyn and Kami batch podcasts two at a time to stay ahead, do the background work, plan content, batch posts and plan social media. Call to action: Tell us what your content categories are for your audience. Be sure to tweet us @madalynsklar and @kamichat and share your progress with us. We want to hear from you!
