On va parler de Youtube, de Facebook Stories, de Synthèse vocale, de Twitter Blue et de l'option pause d'Instagram.YouTube entérine, la suppression du compteur de Dislike.Youtube souhaite mettre fin aux harcèlement que subissent certains créateurs et décide de supprimer le compteur de «je n'aime pas ».Dans son communiqué, YouTube explique vouloir «créer un environnement inclusif et respectueux où les créateurs ont la possibilité de réussir et se sentent en sécurité pour s'exprimer. »La barre de Like disparaît mais pas le bouton « je n'aime pas »Plus de “barre de likes_”  mais un compteur unique de _likes. Le bouton “Je n'aime pas” reste pour autant disponible sur une vidéo.Les spectateurs peuvent toujours désapprouver les vidéos pour affiner leurs recommandations et partager en privé leurs commentaires avec les créateurs.Du côté des créateurs, le nombre de « Je n'aime pas » sera toujours accessible dans YouTube Studio, aux côtés des métriques de performances habituelles. Dans le Youtube Game les avis sont mitigésTeracil de Wankil Studio parle même d'une mesure qui vient encore davantage aseptiser la plateforme laissant la part belle aux contenus scams et tutoriels bidons.Il est vrai que pour certains le nombre de Dislikes était déterminant pour décider s'ils regardaient une vidéo. Ce critère ne pourra donc plus être pris en compte par les utilisateurs comme gage de qualité ou non d'un contenu.QU'y a t-il dans la version payante de Twitter ?Courant de semaine dernière, Twitter lançait officiellement sa version payante aux US et on en sait donc un peu plus sur les avantages qu'elle apporte.Déjà pour placer replacer cette version payante dans son contexte, il faut savoir que cette version Bis de Twitter a été imaginée suite à la demande de gros utilisateurs de naviguer librement sans publicités et d'avoir accès à plus de fonctionnalités.Twitter n'a pas l'intention de rendre sa plateforme payante ni de se passer de publicités.Pour rappel Twitter blue est déjà lancée en Australie et au Canada, mais le lancement US dévoile de nouvelles fonctionnalités Premium.Une première fonctionnalité d'édition permet d'annuler un tweet avant sa publication mais aussi de visualiser le rendu des long threads qui sont difficiles à évaluer sur de très long morceaux.Autre option super intéressante, l'accès en avant première aux développements du twitter lab.Les utilisateurs de Twitter bleu peuvent en effet y accéder avant leur lancement officiel. Par exemple actuellement, les abonnés Blue peuvent publier des vidéos de 10 min alors qu'elles sont limitées à 2 pour les autres.La promesse était également de ne plus avoir de publicités mais ce n'est pas encore le cas, en revanche, grâce au rachat de Scroll, Twitter propose aussi aux abonnés payant un accès sans publicités à des articles de presse provenant de médias comme The Washington Post, Reuters, ou encore BuzzFeed. L'objectif de l'entreprise est que grâce à son abonnement, les médias gagnent 50 % de revenus en plus par lecteur, par rapport à ce qu'ils gagneraient en affichant des publicités dans les articles. Twitter propose aussi une fonctionnalité « Top Articles » qui met avant les articles les plus populaires dans le réseau de l'utilisateur, façon Nuzzel.sourceInstagram teste une nouvelle fonctionnalité « Faites une pause »La fonctionnalité « faites une pause » permettra aux utilisateurs de définir des rappels pour s'éloigner de l'application après une certaine période d'activité – soit 10, 20 ou 30 minutes.C'est marrant par ce que dans l'épisode 674 on parlait justement de Douyin, l'équivalent de TikTok en Chine, qui vient d'instaurer une pause obligatoire à ses utilisateurs.Ici rien d'obligatoire mais plutôt un service optionnel à la disposition des utilisateurs pour qu'ils s'auto régulent.Cette nouveauté, s'inscrit dans la continuité des divers outils de bien-être mis en place par le Groupe Meta. Facebook propose également une option « Faites une pause » pour mettre en sourdine les utilisateurs individuels dont les messages commencent à être sur votre nerfs.Facebook a également introduit l'année dernière un « mode silencieux », qui coupe les notifications, offrant un autre moyen de prendre le temps de s'éloigner de l'application.Est-ce que ce sera vraiment efficace ? Est-ce la solution miracle ? En terme de communication en tout cas c'est un début de réponse. On le sait Instagram est accusé depuis plusieurs mois d'être nocif pour les jeunes utilisateurs.La guerre à la synthèse vocale est déclaréeSynthèse vocale pour les reelsPour concurrencer TikTok un peu plus, Instagram a annoncé sur le compte officiel Creators une nouvelle fonctionnalité de synthèse vocale et des effets vocaux .Super populaires sur TikTok, ces effets permettent d'ajouter une voix-off aux vidéos, mais également de modifier sa propre voix.Un moyen d'ajouter de la narration sans utiliser sa propre voixInitialement créée pour aider les personnes aveugles et malvoyantes à comprendre du texte écrit, la fonctionnalité d'accessibilité Text-to-Speech est devenue rapidement très populaire sur TikTok. voix-off robotisées qui lisent des textes prédéfinis dans une vidéo.Les effets vocaux permettent également aux créateurs d'ajouter une dimension humoristique en utilisant diverses modifications de voix : hélium, robot ou encore auto-tune.Un moyen d'exprimer sa créativité de manière amusante* "Nous savons que l'utilisation du son et de l'audio est l'un des aspects les plus amusants de la création d'un Reel ! Je ne peux pas m'empêcher d'y voir là une stratégie pour garder une longueur d'avance et avoir toujours une fonctionnalité Cool dans sa manchesourcesourceFacebook lance une plateforme d'application créatives pour les storiesFacebook vient d'annoncer une nouvelle « plate-forme d'applications créatives » pour les stories Facebook. Cela permettra aux développeurs de créer  des applications liées aux stories directement au sein de l'écosystème Facebook.Les développeurs d'applications participant au programme pourront obtenir leurs outils répertoriés dans l'espace de composition des stories Facebook.sourceEn gros, Facebook propose à des créateurs d'app indépendante de pouvoir plus facilement se plumer sur les stries Facebook. Au moment ou je souhaite créer une story Facebook, l'application du Groupe Meta va me proposer d'apporter plus de créativité en utilisant des applications partenaires.Cette nouvelle fonctionnalité est lancé avec déjà plusieurs partenariat stratégique. Notamment l'application Seule, une app de Karaoké. A positive review of the Apple iMac M1 rounded out this week's Apple-related discussions. On the social media front, the abrupt self-termination of Donald Trump's new blog website, Twitter's plans for a subscription service, and ongoing challenges for the SEC posted by Elon Musk's tweets were discussed. The death by buyout of Nuzzel by Twitter was mentioned, and an excellent Twitter thread by Robert G Reeve was reviewed which highlights the alarming (and creepy) ways social media apps and advertising algorithms powered by our modern surveillance state make uncanny content suggestions which cause many to think (falsely!) that "their phones are listening to them."  ¿Quién envió el WhatsApp a Laura Palmer? O en este caso, Fabienne Ruttledge, una estudiante de sociología que recibió las preguntas de un examen horas antes, cuando la metieron en un grupo anónimo de WhatsApp donde estaban otros compañeros suyos. — Afirma que no se lo tomó en serio, pero aun así ha sido castigada por la junta.  Hackeo a la plataforma de clientes y repartidores de Glovo. La empresa de reparto a domicilio se ha puesto ya en contacto con la AEPD para avisarles de la brecha y afirman haber cerrado el agujero de seguridad. Parece que los datos de cobro no se han filtrado, pero sí los de los envíos, que están a la venta en el mercado negro.  En unos días sabremos más a medida que los datos, inevitablemente, se hagan públicos.  Algunos oyentes y lectores me reportan una "incidencia general" en el banco español BBVA que les ha impedido hacer transferencias durante días. ¿Alguien sabe algo?  Las pequeñas misiones a la Luna de Intuitive Machines utilizan varios métodos novedosos y relativamente baratos. Con Scroll pagabas una tarifa plana (5$) que eliminaba la publicidad de múltiples medios.  Incidentalmente, eso significa que cierra Nuzzel mañana mismo, su servicio poco conocido que resumía tu timeline en un único correo electrónico.  Apple lanza un parche de emergencia para iPhone y Mac que solucionan dos importantes agujeros de seguridad que permitían ganar control remoto completo del dispositivo a través del navegador Safari. Sus parches están incluidos en iOS 14.5 y macOS 11.3.1, así que actualizad hoy mismo.  Signal crea una interesante campaña de publicidad en Facebook con unos banners preparados a mano que mostraban algunos de los filtros usados ("Ves este banner porque te gusta tal cantante, eres profesora y y haces yoga". Facebook la canceló por incumplir sus normas.  En realidad es una campaña de promoción propia, medianamente inteligente y destinada a los que ya sabemos qué datos recoge Facebook de nosotros. ¿Eso es efectivo?  Adobe Flash muere (por 384ª vez) en unas semanas cuando Microsoft envíe los parches definitivos a Windows 8 y Windows 10 donde deshabilite el soporte nativo para el otrora popular reproductor de Macromedia. Seguirá vivo, eso sí, en aplicaciones independientes y emulado a través de WASM en muchos navegadores.  Convierten un coche radiocontrol de los 80 en un coche eléctrico real de tamaño completo y que estará disponible por 7.000 euros. Es básicamente un buggy monoplaza capaz de de alcanzar los 50 km/h porque las baterías son relativamente reducidas. Si la pequeña empresa británica que lo está produciendo lo saca, quizá sería divertido probarlo.  Creative Cloud de Adobe y Google Workspace se integran. Las empresas que utilicen la suite de Google podrán conectar sus cuentas de alojamiento en la nube de CC de Adobe a través de un pequeño añadido gratuito. Ep. 56: Aussie journalists depart China (and other bilateral tensions); Foreign Relations Bill; Abe’s legacy; Tony Abbott

Recording early afternoon on Wednesday 7 September, Allan and Darren begin by grappling with the previous day’s news of the arrival back in Australia of the last two China correspondents from Australian media outlets: the ABC’s Bill Birtles and the AFR’s Mike Smith. Darren tries to piece together his own theory of what happened, and Allan offers some insight on the mechanics behind DFAT’s role in cases like these, both in warning Australians of risks, and then the decision to shelter them, in this case while negotiating their safe departure from China. Note that the conversation occurred before more details emerged of allegations by PRC state media of “raids” on PRC journalists in Australia by national security agencies, and news of the cancellation of visas for two Chinese scholars. The discussion turns next to the speech delivered by the Deputy Head of Mission at the Chinese embassy, Wang Xining, at the National Press Club in late August. Allan explains the types of constraints on all diplomats in giving a speech like this, and both he and Darren agree that the prepared text did seem to lean more towards conciliatory than provocative. In the context of a very low month in the bilateral relationship, which also included new investigations into Australian wine exports, the detention of another Australian citizen, CGTN anchor Cheng Lei, and Australia's blocking of an acquisition by a PRC company of a Japanese-owned milk processing company on national interest grounds, they wonder whether the speech will have any lasting impact. In light of some recent analysis Darren asks, is Australia only recently “standing up” to China, or has Australia’s approach been consistent, as claimed by PM Morrison? Allan and Darren both weigh on the Foreign Affairs Bill announced by the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister recently, which if it becomes law is expected to enable Canberra to cancel the Belt and Road Initiative MOU signed by the State of Victoria. As a historian of Australian foreign policy, Allan cannot recall a single issue where state actions have been a real problem for Australian foreign policy, and he observes that the “national interest” test could be wielded in very different ways by different governments into the future. Finally, the two discuss the legacy of retiring Japanese Prime Minster Abe Shinzo, and Allan offers his view on the merits of former PM Tony Abbott taking a position advising the UK government on trade policy. As a practical guide, some sources state that this distance is about "two arm lengths." But Kevin questions whether "one arm span" may be what these sources really mean—and may be a better practical guide. Otherwise, people may be distancing at only about four feet and not the recommended two meters (6.5 feet)—about 60% of the most effective minimum distance. Because Kevin can never leave well enough alone. Updates from the ongoing Facebook advertiser boycott and protest movement and challenges around 5G infrastructure build-outs and standards specifications between China and the United States were also explored.
