Special Guest Robert Matzkin www.Robmatzkin.com In this powerhouse episode of Profits Unleashed, I sit down with serial entrepreneur and business strategist Rob Matkin—founder of over 16 companies and a man who's had multiple successful exits. This conversation is a masterclass in scaling with clarity, courage, and focus—even when life throws you curveballs. Rob opens up about his journey, from struggling with dyslexia to turning it into a superpower that shaped his leadership style and resilience. What started as a simple favor—giving a friend advice—quickly evolved into his purpose: helping entrepreneurs grow businesses that are both scalable and sustainable. We dive deep into the traps many founders fall into, especially the infamous Superman Syndrome, and how trying to do everything yourself can be the biggest bottleneck in your business. Rob gets real about the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people—from co-founders to investors—and why you should never build a business alone again. One of my biggest takeaways? Scaling doesn't have to feel chaotic. Rob breaks down his ladder-based strategy for sustainable growth, starting with a detailed business audit across seven core areas and moving upward, one step at a time. It's all about clarity, intentionality, and momentum. We also explore the emotional side of scaling—those moments when fear creeps in, whether it's hiring your first team member, fulfilling a massive order, or preparing to raise capital. Rob shares how founders can move past that fear and become truly investable by focusing on their team, their coachability, and their execution. Key Takeaways from This Episode: I learned that doing everything myself isn't a badge of honor—it's a bottleneck. Building with the right co-founder and support team changes everything. Scaling is a process, not a leap—it's one rung at a time. Investors care more about execution and coachability than just a flashy pitch. My fear is valid, but it shouldn't drive the strategy.

    From Burnout to Purpose

Special guest Shannon Russell   Giveaways https://startyoursecondact.com   In this empowering episode of Podcast Profits Unleashed, I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with career transition and business coach Shannon Russell—also the brilliant author of Start Your Second Act: How to Change Careers, Launch a Business, and Create Your Best Life. Shannon's story is one of courage, clarity, and conscious change. After 16 successful years in the television industry, she made the bold decision to pivot into entrepreneurship, launching a franchise that gave her more time with her family—and more personal fulfillment. We dove deep into the realities women face when trying to leave careers that no longer serve them, especially during midlife or motherhood. Shannon shares the most common fears her clients experience and how she helps them overcome analysis paralysis and self-doubt by aligning their passion, skills, and values using the UMAP career assessment. What stood out to me is Shannon's emphasis on research and realism. She reminds us that not every business idea is a good fit—especially if it conflicts with your lifestyle goals. I loved hearing her examples of how diving into the “day-to-day” of a business idea helps people avoid burnout before it begins. We also discussed the dangers of diving into entrepreneurship without a clear plan—a mistake she sees far too often, especially among expats and creatives looking for a quick escape from their current path. Shannon's structured, tailored approach to coaching is a breath of fresh air. She helps her clients build businesses around their lives—not the other way around. Her message is clear: you can start a second act filled with purpose, but success begins with strategy, self-awareness, and support.

Scaling Up with Strategy and Psychology

Special Guest Carly Pepin   https://www.westcoastgrowthadvisors.com/podcast-gift   In this episode, I had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Carly Pepin—an extraordinary business strategist and mindset expert—who helps founders and C-suite teams scale their companies not just with numbers, but with heart, purpose, and clarity. What stood out most in our conversation was Carly's view that business is not just a money-making vehicle—it's a personal development journey. I couldn't agree more. She works primarily with leaders in construction, hospitality, and manufacturing, helping them navigate growth by aligning strategic frameworks with powerful psychological insights.   We talked in depth about her comprehensive approach, which focuses on four core areas: cash, strategy, execution, and people. But the game-changer? Carly brings in the lens of psychology. She explains how emotional equilibrium—the constant dance between pride and shame—can drive or derail a company's success. When leaders understand this, they can make better decisions, stay grounded, and build stronger teams. One of my favorite moments was when Carly shared how culture isn't just about values on a wall—it's about recognizing those values in action. I loved her example of a Polaroid wall showcasing team wins. These small practices create real emotional alignment and reinforce a sense of purpose. We also explored why many businesses stall. Often, it's not about cash flow—it's about misaligned vision, unclear strategy, or unaddressed mindset blocks like imposter syndrome. Carly's method digs deep to reveal the real obstacles, not just the surface-level symptoms.   Key Takeaways from My Conversation with Carly: Business growth starts with delivering true value — not just chasing profit. Scaling requires both strategy and inner alignment with your team and yourself. Emotional dynamics like pride and shame are always at play — learn to recognize and balance them. You don't have to have it all figured out — but having a coach helps you see what's really going on. A misalignment in people or execution might look like a cash problem — but it's not.

Why Most Startups Fail Before They Launch

Special Guest Nadja Fromm www.fromm-consulting.com In this episode of The Podcast Profits Unleashed, I sit down with Nadja Fromm, a seasoned marketing coach and former global brand strategist for household names like Colgate, Kraft Heinz, and Weber. Nadja shares her powerful journey from corporate burnout to building her own business where she helps driven misfits and corporate escapees launch bold, profitable startups. We unpack the real reasons so many startups never get off the ground—and it's not lack of passion. It's the absence of strategy. Nadja breaks down her signature three-step process that every aspiring entrepreneur needs: ✅ Define Your Ideal Client Profile (ICP) – Know exactly who you're serving, their urgent problems, and whether they can invest in your solution. ✅ Craft a Clear & Irresistible Offer – Tailor your product or service so that it speaks directly to your dream client. ✅ Develop Messaging That Converts – Communicate in a way that makes your ideal client say, “Finally, someone gets me.” I couldn't help but relate—if only I had this clarity when I was starting out, I would've saved myself a lot of time (and headaches!). We also tackled one of the biggest entrepreneurial traps: perfectionism disguised as procrastination. Nadja reminds us that action beats perfection every time. Stop waiting to feel "ready." You don't need to master every business function. Just focus on your zone of genius and bring in expert help where needed. The most powerful insight? Shifting from employee mindset to entrepreneur mindset. In corporate life, we're trained to wait for permission. But in entrepreneurship, no one's coming. It's up to us to trust our gut and take the leap. If you're tired of the Monday-to-Friday misery loop and know you're made for more, Nadja's message is your wake-up call.

Special Guest: Faisal Ensaun In this powerful episode of Empower and Podcasting, I sit down with high-performance coach and entrepreneur Faisal Ensaun to uncover why 90% of coaches fail to launch podcasts that actually generate ROI—and how emotional mastery is at the heart of entrepreneurial success. Faisal shares his moving personal story of transformation, from surviving a war-torn country and grappling with emotional trauma and addiction after immigrating to Canada, to completely rebuilding his life through self-development, psychology, and coaching. His journey is a testament to what's possible when we take full ownership of our challenges and commit to deep, lasting change. We dive into why emotions like anxiety aren't our enemies—they're powerful sources of energy when we learn to channel them with intention. Faisal challenges the modern culture of self-diagnosis and victimhood, showing how true growth comes from responsibility, self-awareness, and mastering our own minds. Together, we reflect on the critical skills often missing in traditional education—emotional intelligence, relationship building, and financial literacy—all essential for a fulfilling, successful life. Key takeaways from our conversation: Success doesn't come from external strategies alone; it requires inner emotional mastery. True ownership—of our strengths, weaknesses, and challenges—builds real personal power. Growth comes through seeking help, not through struggling in silence. Lasting transformation is about shedding false identities and reconnecting to our authentic selves. Resilience is proven not in easy times, but when we navigate downturns with strength and support. Faisal shares how, for years, he didn't ask for help simply because he didn't realize he needed it. His message is clear: the sooner we seek support, the sooner we can heal, grow, and positively impact not just our lives, but those around us for generations to come. This conversation will leave you inspired to take radical ownership of your journey and equipped with insights that go far beyond podcasting success—it's about mastering life itself.   Why 90% of coaches fail to launch a podcast That gets an ROI. In this episode, I'm diving deep into the truth most people won't tell you about podcasting. Key takeaways? Clarity and vision are non-negotiable. Your podcast must align with your business goals. Consistency and structure beat bursts of random energy. Deep audience connection is what turns listeners into clients. If you've ever dreamed of launching a podcast that builds your brand and drives revenue, you need to hear this. I break down the real reason why 90% of coaches quit after three episodes—and why only 1% ever see true ROI. Spoiler alert: it's not about talent or hard work. It's about strategy and emotional resilience. I get real about the four biggest mistakes that even heart-driven, passionate coaches make when they step into podcasting: Lack of Clarity and Vision: Without a clear message, your podcast becomes noise. Misalignment with Business Goals: If your content isn't intentionally guiding listeners toward your offers, it's just entertainment. Lack of Consistency and Structure: Without systems, even the best intentions crumble under a busy schedule. Failure to Connect with Your Ideal Audience: Speaking broadly might feel safe, but it won't attract your dream clients. I also share the shifts that changed everything for me—how I moved from confusion to clarity, from random content to strategic episodes that serve my audience and my business goals. This episode is a love letter to every coach who wants their podcast to work—to be a magnet for dream clients, a platform for authority, and a sales machine working for you 24/7 without the hustle.

Special Guest: Brandon Lebowitz Free gift: https://seooptimizers.com/gift   In this episode of Podcast Profits Unleashed, I sit down with Brandon Lebowitz, the founder of SEO Optimizers, to dive deep into how coaches, consultants, and entrepreneurs can harness the power of SEO to increase visibility, drive traffic, and convert leads into paying clients. Brandon shares his journey into the world of SEO, starting in 2007, and breaks down why Google prioritizes trust, relevance, and high-quality content. We explore the importance of optimizing website text, structuring your content for search engines, and leveraging backlinks—a crucial factor in building credibility with Google. He warns against the pitfalls of buying backlinks and instead provides ethical, organic strategies to build them through guest blogging, podcast interviews, and local directories. If you're looking to boost your website's ranking and get found by your dream clients, this episode is packed with practical insights! Key Takeaways: ✅ SEO is essential for coaches & podcasters – Your audience needs to find you online! ✅ Google prioritizes trust & quality – Have clear contact info, privacy policies, and an optimized About page. ✅ Backlinks build credibility – Get them through interviews, guest blogs, and reputable directories. ✅ SEO isn't just for websites – Using transcripts, optimized show notes, and backlinks can increase your podcast's visibility in search engines. ✅ Avoid black-hat SEO tactics – Buying backlinks can do more harm than good! If you're struggling to get your podcast and coaching business in front of the right audience, this episode will give you actionable strategies to elevate your online presence and attract more leads.   In this solo episode of Podcast Profits Unleashed, I share one of the most powerful strategies coaches can use to magnetize their ideal clients—targeted storytelling. Podcasting is an incredible space to show up as your authentic self, but to truly connect with your audience, it's not enough to just tell any story. The key is to focus on a specific pain point that your dream client is struggling with—whether it's imposter syndrome, pricing fears, or client retention challenges. When I craft stories that highlight these struggles and share real transformations—either from my own journey or my clients' experiences—I create an emotional connection that makes listeners feel seen and understood. That's what turns a passive listener into an engaged client. Instead of just stating my expertise, I show my audience what's possible. I tell stories like the time I undercharged for my services, felt stuck, and then shifted my mindset—resulting in higher rates and more aligned clients. These types of stories don't just entertain; they provide a lifeline for listeners who are stuck in that same moment of struggle. Key Takeaways: ✅ Pick one pain point – Focus on a real struggle your ideal client faces. ✅ Share a transformation story – Make it personal and relatable so listeners see themselves in your journey. ✅ End with a simple call to action – Offer the next logical step for listeners to work with you. When storytelling is done right, it creates an instant bond. Your audience stops scrolling, starts listening, and sees YOU as the coach they need. If you want help refining your podcast storytelling so it lands with impact and converts listeners into clients, book a Power Hour with me. I'll help you craft and deliver stories that stick.

Special Guest: Cliff Nonnenmacher   Visit my website: http://franocity.com/   In this episode of Podcast Profits Unleashed, I sit down with Cliff Nonnenmacher, a seasoned entrepreneur and former investment banker, to break down the essential framework for evaluating and investing in franchises. Cliff shares how he and his business partner turned struggling businesses around by applying structured discipline, financial strategy, and a clear decision-making process. We discuss the common mistakes many aspiring business owners make—like letting emotions drive investment decisions instead of focusing on financial viability. Cliff explains why passion alone isn't enough and how financial discipline plays a critical role in long-term success. He introduces a step-by-step framework to assess business opportunities and ensure they align with personal financial goals. One key takeaway? Franchising is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Cliff walks us through the three-month franchise investment journey, from initial engagement to Discovery Day, where investors meet the executive team and experience the brand firsthand. This methodical approach ensures that franchising is a good fit before making any commitments. We also explore five thriving franchise categories that are resistant to AI disruption and e-commerce competition: Home Improvement & Tools – Roofing, HVAC, window cleaning, and essential repair services are always in demand. Aging Population Services – With a growing elderly population, businesses in assisted living, mobility, and in-home care are thriving. Pet Care Industry – The humanization of pets has led to a booming market in pet grooming, boarding, and wellness services. Health & Beauty – Anti-aging, med spas, biohacking, and wellness businesses are flourishing as self-care becomes a priority. Child Enrichment & Education – As public school budgets shrink, franchises in art, STEM, and extracurricular education fill the gaps. Cliff also addresses the biggest roadblock to franchise ownership—fear. Many people hesitate due to uncertainty or a lack of support. However, franchising offers built-in structures similar to corporate jobs, making it an easier transition than starting a business from scratch. The key message? Courage and self-belief are essential for breaking free from fear and seizing financial independence. Special Guest: Joey Drollshagen   In this powerful episode of Podcast Profits Unleashed, I sit down with business coach Joey Drollshagen, a media-savvy expert who's been featured on Fox, NBC, and CBS. Joey opens up about his transformative journey, from growing up in a tough blue-collar family in Detroit to finding success by shifting his mindset through subconscious programming. He reveals how overcoming childhood struggles and years of trial and error led him to discover the life-changing power of subconscious mindset training (SMT), which completely reshaped both his personal and professional life. As a coach today, Joey helps business owners and corporate sales leaders unlock their potential by identifying the subconscious programming that holds them back. He teaches his clients to break free from limiting beliefs and design personalized systems that align with their true selves, rather than following generic strategies. He emphasizes that success is unique to each individual, and the key to rapid growth lies in creating accelerated, personalized habits. Joey explains how societal conditioning, especially regarding money and hard work, often holds people back. By breaking through these patterns, people can step into new opportunities that better align with their strengths and passions. He stresses the importance of embracing your individuality and forging a path that's true to your own vision for success. In this episode, Joey also discusses how limiting beliefs, particularly the “glass ceiling” mentality, can restrict business growth, and shares advice on how to challenge these self-imposed barriers. He offers insights on the discomfort of stepping outside your comfort zone and how it's essential for growth. His SMT method is a game changer for anyone looking to break through mental limitations and unlock their full potential. Key takeaways: Subconscious mindset training (SMT) can lead to rapid transformation in business and life. Success is personal, and one-size-fits-all strategies don't work. Breakthrough limiting beliefs to unlock new opportunities. Embrace discomfort as a catalyst for growth. Don't miss this inspiring conversation that will help you tap into your true potential and achieve success on your own terms. Welcome back to Podcast Profits Unleashed! In today's episode, I'm sharing my three powerful tips on how I turn podcast guests into high-ticket clients without ever using a hard sales pitch. It's all about building genuine connections, not selling, and I'm going to show you exactly how you can do this too, in a way that feels effortless, authentic, and truly adds value. First, pre-qualify your guests as potential clients. It's crucial to be intentional about who you invite onto your podcast. Think of it like hosting a dinner party—you wouldn't just invite anyone off the street, right? Your podcast guests should align with your ideal client profile. Do a bit of research beforehand to see if their challenges and goals match what you can help with. This isn't about being exclusive; it's about being effective. Next, build a real relationship. During the interview, forget about selling and focus on genuinely getting to know your guest. Ask open-ended questions, dig deeper into their story, and really listen. The magic happens when your guest feels comfortable enough to open up about their struggles. The goal is to plant seeds—not solve everything right then and there. The more they trust you, the more likely they'll remember how you made them feel, which is far more important than any advice you offer in the moment. Finally, offer a follow-up, not a pitch. After the interview, don't just send a generic thank-you email. Instead, extend the conversation with a genuine offer to help, without any strings attached. Simply say something like, “I loved our conversation today, and I've been thinking about what you shared. I have a few ideas—would you be open to a call to discuss them further?” This shifts the conversation from a sales pitch to a collaborative discussion, where you can truly offer value. Key Takeaways: Pre-qualify guests to align with your ideal client profile. Focus on building genuine relationships, not making a sale during the interview. Follow up with a helpful offer, not a sales pitch. By following these steps, you'll turn your podcast into a business growth tool. It's not manipulation—it's alignment, collaboration, and trust. By reviewing historical data and developing trust in a strategy, traders can avoid emotional reactions and stick to a long-term plan. For beginners, Anmol recommends starting with free educational resources, using a demo account, and proving consistency before investing real money. Keith shares his remarkable journey, beginning with his early inspiration from Tony Robbins and Dan Sullivan, and how his frustration with traditional goal-setting led to his groundbreaking work. Keith introduces us to The Magic Lamp—a transformative framework that redefines goals as "wishes," making the process not just productive but exhilarating. His ideas have already helped over 100,000 readers worldwide. He also reveals the power of "Magic Questions," a tool to spark breakthroughs by asking the right questions at the right moments. Keith dives into his new book, How to Make the Impossible Easy: The Astonishing Secret of 10X Superpower, which outlines how to achieve massive goals while working less. His philosophy? Impossible isn't a fact—it's just an opinion. Key Takeaways: Reframe Your Goals: Shift from rigid goals to wishes, making them more exciting and achievable. Special Guest: Drewbie Wilson   In this episode of Podcast Profits Unleashed, I'm thrilled to be joined by Drewbie Wilson, the founder of Call the Damn Leads, as we dive into the importance of doing the hard work to achieve true sales success. Drewbie takes us on a journey from his humble beginnings to becoming a successful entrepreneur and sales mentor. His message is clear: success in business doesn't come from relying on automated systems or social media content alone—it comes from taking action, particularly by calling the damn leads.   Drewbie shares his perspective on how many entrepreneurs are misled by the idea of easy success through online courses or viral content, only to feel frustrated when they don't get the results they expected. He emphasizes the value of understanding where to invest your time and focusing on activities that drive the highest returns. The key to sales success lies in having a clear, actionable process and a genuine passion for what you're offering.   We also explore the L.L.S. formula—Listen, Lay out the plan, and Secure the Bag—a proven framework for converting leads into clients. The first step, Listen, is all about understanding the client's needs by asking the right questions. Then, Lay out the plan by offering a realistic and transparent solution. Finally, Secure the Bag by confidently closing the deal and ensuring the client is ready to commit.   Throughout the episode, we also discuss how entrepreneurs often avoid direct sales conversations, particularly when relying on organic marketing. But, as Drewbie points out, building authentic relationships and being upfront about your intentions makes asking for the sale much easier.   We wrap up by touching on the importance of authenticity in marketing, the power of empathy, and using storytelling to connect emotionally with clients. I also share insights from my books, Crushing the Day, Social Media Mastery, and Diary of a Damn Closer, offering tools for mastering mindset, storytelling, and accountability in sales.   Key Takeaways:   Sales success requires action—stop relying on automated systems. Invest your time in high-return activities and focus on building a strong sales process. Use the L.L.S. formula to effectively close deals and build client trust. After experiencing burnout as an agency owner, Robin discovered his passion for high-level business strategy and coaching, leading him to establish Fearless Business. Today, he empowers business owners to refine their systems, overcome fear, and achieve sustainable growth.   We dive deep into why every business should be designed to be sellable—even if selling isn't on the horizon—and how focusing on freedom and fulfillment can drive long-term success. Robin also unpacks his strategies for scaling businesses effectively, making more money with fewer clients, and tackling the mindset challenges that often hold entrepreneurs back.   Key Takeaways from My Conversation with Robin Waite: Productizing Services Simplifies Selling: I learned how creating a clear, fixed price for your services—like buying a car with optional add-ons—makes it easier for clients to understand and invest in your offer. For instance, designing a website that generates 15-20 leads per month for $5,000 is an example of value-based pricing at work. The Problem with Hourly Rates: Robin sees hourly rates as outdated and even unethical, urging entrepreneurs to shift to value-based pricing to align client goals with sustainable business growth. Breaking Free from Money Mindset Blocks: We explore how early money conditioning impacts pricing decisions and how societal norms around scarcity can limit your ability to scale. Employee to Entrepreneur to Investor Mindset: Many entrepreneurs struggle to transition from trading time for money to focusing on value creation. Robin explains how the next step is adopting an investor mindset, leveraging others' skills, and building passive income streams. Why Goal Setting Must Evolve: Strategies for scaling to $100K revenue differ significantly from scaling to $1M. Special Guest: Richard Walsh In this episode, Karen Roberts sits down with Richard Walsh, CEO of Sharpen the Spear Coaching and author of Escape the Owner Prison, to discuss the essential steps entrepreneurs must take to scale their businesses effectively while planning for their eventual exit. Drawing from over 30 years of entrepreneurial experience, Richard shares insights into growing businesses from zero to ten million dollars, emphasizing the importance of transitioning from solopreneurship to strategic CEO roles. A key takeaway from the episode is the necessity of planning with an exit strategy in mind from the beginning. Richard explains how many business owners become trapped in the day-to-day grind, only focusing on short-term tasks like payroll, which keeps them on a "hamster wheel" with no real progress. Instead, having a clear exit plan helps business owners make more strategic decisions, filtering out distractions that don't contribute to their long-term goals. Richard also advises entrepreneurs to schedule regular strategy sessions—whether monthly or quarterly—to step back from daily operations and focus on the big picture. He advocates delegating tasks and focusing on the 5% of critical activities that drive business growth. By doing so, business owners can avoid burnout and build a sustainable, scalable company. The episode also covers investment strategies that align with long-term business goals. Richard suggests investing in tangible assets like real estate and commercial property, which provide passive income streams over time. By living on a portion of their earnings and using the rest to accumulate assets, entrepreneurs can expedite their journey toward financial independence and a successful exit. Listeners are invited to connect with Richard via his website for personalized coaching and to claim a free audiobook of Escape the Honor Prison. Key Takeaways: Plan your exit strategy from the start. Delegate tasks and focus on high-impact activities. Schedule regular strategy sessions to maintain clarity. Robert shares his transformative journey from facing $90,000 in debt and unhappiness to achieving financial freedom and personal fulfillment. Key Takeaways: Acknowledge Your Reality: Robert emphasizes the importance of recognizing your current situation as the first step toward change. Denial only prolongs dissatisfaction. Personal Accountability: True change requires taking responsibility for one's actions and choices. Robert encourages listeners to embrace vulnerability by sharing their struggles, allowing for support and solutions. The Four Stages of Dissatisfaction: People often cycle through blame, excuses, a victim mentality, and waiting for change. Breaking this cycle is crucial for empowerment. Peer Pressure Dynamics: Initially positive in youth, peer pressure can shift to negative adult influences, prompting people to maintain lifestyles that may not be financially viable. This pressure often leads to living beyond one's means, driven by ego rather than necessity. Ripple Effect of Choices: Poor decisions, such as oversleeping, can create a chain reaction affecting mood, behavior, and relationships. Being mindful of daily choices can help break this cycle. Proactive Change: Robert advocates for taking charge of one's life rather than waiting for a crisis to force change. In this episode of Podcast Profits Unleashed, host Karen Roberts dives deep into a topic that will revolutionize how you market your podcast: Attraction Marketing. Karen reflects on her early struggles, where simply posting episodes on social media wasn't enough to generate traction. She realized that to truly leverage podcasting as a sales tool, she needed to connect deeply with her audience. Key Takeaways: Attraction Marketing vs. Paid Advertising: Karen explains that while paid ads can help, attraction marketing focuses on organically drawing your ideal audience by addressing their pain points, fears, and desires. Understanding Your Ideal Listener: The key to successful attraction marketing is knowing your audience inside out. Create detailed listener personas to ensure your content resonates with their specific needs. Provide Value Without Expectation: Shift from a sales-first mindset to a service-first approach. Focus on delivering value in each episode without expecting immediate returns. This builds trust and naturally attracts listeners to your services. Share Personal Stories: People connect with stories, not sales pitches. Be authentic and transparent about your journey and struggles, as this makes you relatable and builds deeper connections. Clear Calls to Action: Every episode should have a clear and compelling call to action, guiding listeners to the next step, such as downloading a resource or booking a consultation. Leverage Social Proof: Share testimonials, client success stories, and case studies to demonstrate the impact of your work and attract others seeking similar results. Bonus Tip: Your social media content should focus on four key elements: building "know," "like," "trust," and finally, asking for the "buy." Don't hesitate to put out offers consistently, as listeners may be following you on multiple platforms. Karen emphasizes that success with attraction marketing is a marathon, not a sprint. Overcoming Fear, Effective Networking, and Achieving Ridiculous Goals

Special Guest Steve Sims https://simsdistillery.com/   In this episode, host Karen Roberts chats with Steve Sims about the power of focus and mindset in achieving success. Steve underscores that your perspective shapes your reality. By concentrating on positive stories and opportunities, rather than negative news, you start noticing more chances for growth and innovation. This mindset shift, comparable to suddenly noticing yellow cars everywhere once you start looking for them, enables entrepreneurs and podcasters to thrive even amidst chaos, such as during the COVID-19 pandemic.   Steve highlights how many people saw COVID-19 as an opportunity to innovate, pivot their businesses, deepen family connections, and work on personal projects. Those who adapted and focused on possibilities found ways to prosper. For entrepreneurs, developing this mindset is crucial. Fear of rejection or failure is natural, but how you respond to it determines your success. Rather than letting fear paralyze you, using it as motivation to learn, grow, and push forward transforms these fears into strengths.   Building resilience is key. Practicing small interactions and gradually building confidence helps you handle rejection better. Each conversation, pitch, or attempt is an opportunity to learn and improve. The more you put yourself out there, the more you realize that a "no" is just a step towards the next "yes." Embracing a growth mindset, where challenges are seen as opportunities to learn, makes you more resilient and better positioned to seize new opportunities.   Steve also discusses the importance of curiosity and dissatisfaction with the status quo as driving forces for change. Physically stepping out of your usual environment can help you assess your happiness and areas of aggravation, which can be catalysts for change. Surrounding yourself with supportive and challenging people is vital. If your current circle doesn't understand or support your ambitions, it might be time to find a new group.   Steve shares an anecdote about a marketing strategy at Tabasco, where making the bottle's hole bigger significantly increased sales. This story illustrates the value of playful innovation over rigid effort. He emphasizes maintaining a playful, childlike approach to challenges, suggesting that "playing" with problems rather than fighting them leads to innovative solutions and sustained energy. Examples from notable figures like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Elon Musk demonstrate how gamifying challenges can lead to breakthroughs.   Effective communication is another crucial aspect discussed. Despite living in a highly connected world, true communication is deteriorating. Steve likens it to a muscle that needs regular exercise. Engaging in small conversations regularly can make you more comfortable with larger, more critical conversations. He shares a story about a Silicon Valley tycoon who practices handling rejection by asking for discounts on mundane things, thus becoming desensitized to hearing "no," which helps in high-stakes business situations.   The episode also touches on how COVID-19 was a time of great productivity and financial success for Steve because he focused on opportunities rather than obstacles. The pandemic revealed the illusory nature of job security, prompting many to reevaluate their careers. Steve offers tips for those feeling stuck: assess your dissatisfaction with your current situation from a new perspective; surround yourself with people who challenge and support your aspirations; recognize the value of time and act promptly on opportunities; and maintain a childlike curiosity and willingness to explore.   Throughout the conversation, Steve emphasizes the importance of taking immediate action towards your goals. He closes by inviting listeners to his event in London, a one-day intensive session on branding, marketing, and positioning to help disrupt and stand out in their respective fields. He also promotes his books, "Bluefishing: The Art of Making Things Happen" and "Go For Stupid: The Art of Achieving Ridiculous Goals," encouraging listeners to maintain youthful curiosity and take bold actions in their endeavors.   The episode concludes with Karen expressing gratitude for the engaging conversation and promoting Steve's resources. Knowing Vs Doing

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 2, 2024 18:44

In today's episode, we delve into the critical distinction between knowing and doing, a topic that resonates deeply with many entrepreneurs and podcasters. As your host, Karen Roberts, my mission is to help coaches and experts design, create, launch, and grow their podcasts into powerful sales tools. Today's discussion is about bridging the gap between what we know we should do and what we actually do. When I launched my podcast, despite knowing all the right strategies, my business wasn't growing as fast as I had hoped. I realized that while I was busy behind the scenes, I wasn't being visible enough. This realization led me to examine why I wasn't taking the actions I knew I needed to take. Reflecting on my journey in the online space since 2017, starting as a coach for an online education company, I learned that the strategies for growing a business online are remarkably consistent. Whether you're selling high-ticket affiliate programs, helping network marketers, or growing a podcast, the fundamental steps remain the same: grow your audience daily, build influence within that audience, and make offers regularly. Yet, knowing these steps is different from doing them consistently. The conscious mind, where our ideas and critical thinking reside, is different from the unconscious mind, which drives our habitual actions and behaviors. Often, we know what to do, but our unconscious mind, driven by past experiences and ingrained habits, can hold us back. This dichotomy is why people frequently find themselves not taking the necessary actions to achieve their goals. For me, learning to get out of my own way marked a significant shift. Many clients face the same challenge—they are aware that they're not staying visible or taking the right actions but struggle to change this pattern. Recognizing this is the first step; accepting it is the second. The crucial third step is finding ways to shift behavior and mindset to allow for consistent action. Being present and conscious in the moment is essential. It's not about being in a meditative state but rather about being fully engaged in the now. This focus allows for better productivity. When we feel good about taking action, we are more likely to follow through. Conversely, negative feelings can lead to procrastination and avoidance. Practical steps involve daily actions like growing your audience on platforms like LinkedIn or Facebook, sharing content, and making offers. For example, I send out 15 connection requests daily on LinkedIn, share video snippets of my podcast, and consistently post testimonials or reviews. These actions are simple yet often avoided due to overthinking or distractions. The conscious mind helps us plan, but the unconscious mind—where habits and beliefs reside—often dictates our actions. Our beliefs, shaped by repetitive thoughts and past experiences, can either support or hinder our progress. This unconscious programming is why change can be difficult. We experience thousands of thoughts daily, many of which are repetitive. These thoughts can create a program that runs in the background, influencing our actions and decisions. Becoming aware of this programming is crucial for making changes. The unconscious mind, which operates our basic life functions, also influences our decision-making and actions. Trusting this system for essential functions like breathing, we should also trust it to guide our business actions. To do this effectively, we must plan our actions consciously and then find ways to unthink—engage in activities that get us out of our heads and into a positive state, ready to take action. Balancing thinking, unthinking, and taking action can lead to consistent results. Fear of judgment often holds us back, but remember, people are not as focused on us as we think—they are scrolling through their feeds. Consistency is key; over time, your target audience will notice and engage. Taking an hour each day to focus on visibility and action is manageable for everyone. If you feel overwhelmed, seek support. Our team can help you create content assets from your podcast, so you have ready-made materials to post. In conclusion, to grow your business and podcast, you need to be seen and heard consistently. Trust the process, do the work, and you will see results. I hope this episode has been insightful. Join us next week when I'll be speaking with the wonderful Hilary DeCesare. Until then, keep taking action and stay visible. In this episode, Karen Roberts delves into the importance of trusting the process and detaching from the outcome in the journey toward success. She begins by emphasizing the need for consistent effort, noting that showing up regularly is key to achieving results. Karen reflects on her early days in self-development, particularly an impactful Bob Proctor event she attended 23 years ago. There, she was introduced to essential self-development books like "Who Moved My Cheese," "Think and Grow Rich," and "Psycho-Cybernetics," which significantly influenced her life. Karen shares a pivotal moment when she set three major goals: owning a fitness studio, buying a house, and acquiring a 4x4. Despite living in London and the seeming improbability of owning a fitness studio at that time, she moved to the Algarve, Portugal, four years later, fully committing to her goals despite the challenges, including being seven months pregnant and having a young child. This bold move was inspired by Bob Proctor's advice to "burn the boats," eliminating any escape routes and ensuring full commitment. Through detaching from the outcome and focusing on daily actions, Karen achieved all three goals within five years. She attributes her success to trusting the process and emphasizes the importance of having a clear daily strategy. By establishing non-negotiable tasks and maintaining a consistent routine, she found that progress became inevitable. Karen contrasts this with her previous scattered approach, which led to procrastination and lack of focus. Addressing the common fear of not getting enough clients, Karen advises listeners to trust the process and avoid a scarcity mindset, which can repel potential clients. She explains the benefits of leveraging a podcast to build a business, sharing her strategy of using podcast content across various formats and platforms to attract clients organically. By directly asking for the sale and incorporating specific calls to action, she created a seamless ecosystem that drives engagement and conversions. Karen also discusses the importance of work-life balance and stress management, advocating for a structured work schedule that fits around personal life. She emphasizes setting boundaries, focusing on short, intense work periods followed by breaks, and maintaining a balance that prevents burnout. Reflecting on Bob Proctor's teachings, she encourages listeners to "let go and let God," highlighting the positive impact of faith in the unseen and detachment from stress and worry. To provide practical advice for coaches, Karen suggests booking specific time slots for daily tasks, sticking to focused work sessions, and repurposing podcast content effectively across various platforms. She stresses the importance of having a complete strategy to ensure daily tasks are completed, which helps maintain focus and drive progress. Karen's core message is clear: do the work, trust the process, and the results will come. By committing to daily actions, maintaining a positive mindset, and leveraging the power of podcasting, listeners can achieve their business goals and create a fulfilling work-life balance. She acknowledges that it might be challenging to detach from the outcome, especially when financial returns are not immediately evident, but insists that this approach ultimately leads to less stress and greater success. Karen also touches on the misconception of attraction marketing, explaining that simply posting on social media is not enough. A proactive approach, including asking for the sale and engaging directly with the target audience, is necessary to drive business growth. By incorporating testimonials and creating daily calls to action, Karen has built an effective marketing strategy that attracts clients without feeling pushy or salesy. Book a podcast strategy call https://podcastprofitsunleashed.com/appointment    In this episode of her podcast, Karen Roberts delves into the essentials of podcasting productivity, sharing strategies to beat procrastination and stay organized. Karen begins by highlighting the critical role of commitment, emphasizing that 80% of success in podcasting comes from consistently showing up and trusting the process. Drawing from her experience as an entrepreneur and a podcaster, she discusses her personal challenges with organization, particularly in light of her self-diagnosed hyper-focused ADHD. This condition, she explains, has significantly influenced her work habits and productivity, making it imperative for her to find effective organizational strategies.   Karen shares how her background in the fitness industry, where she worked as a freelance instructor, laid the groundwork for her organizational skills. In this role, she had to adhere to a strict schedule and maintain high levels of accountability, which included being punctual and prepared for early morning classes. This structured environment suited her ADHD, as it left little room for decision-making and procrastination. However, transitioning to working alone as an entrepreneur presented new challenges. Without the external accountability she once had, Karen found herself struggling with procrastination and burnout, often leaving tasks to the last minute and working excessively to meet deadlines.   To address these challenges, Karen adopted the Pomodoro Technique, a time management method that involves working in focused 25-minute intervals followed by 5-minute breaks. She has customized this technique to fit her lifestyle, using the breaks to engage in micro workouts or other quick activities that help her stay energized. This approach prevents burnout and keeps her productivity levels high. She emphasizes the importance of having specific times booked in her calendar for various tasks, treating them as non-negotiable appointments. This level of organization allows her to manage her time effectively and ensures that important tasks get done without being overwhelming.   Karen also discusses the significance of task management, advising against having a long, daunting to-do list. Instead, she recommends focusing on a few key tasks each day, which makes it easier to stay on track and provides a sense of accomplishment. This method is particularly beneficial for those with ADHD, as it helps reduce feelings of overwhelm and confusion.   In terms of practical podcasting tips, Karen outlines a comprehensive process for managing the different aspects of podcast production. This includes preparing content, booking guests, handling post-production tasks, and engaging with the audience. She advises podcasters to mix solo episodes with interviews featuring clients or experts in their niche, and to be clear about the structure and expectations for each episode. Efficient post-production involves editing the episodes, creating graphics and show notes, and promoting the episodes through various channels. Karen highlights the importance of having a well-organized system for these tasks, using tools like calendars and project management software to keep everything on track.   Audience engagement is another crucial area Karen addresses. She suggests using newsletters and social media to consistently connect with listeners and promote new episodes. Regular content updates and interactions help grow and maintain the audience, which is essential for the podcast's success. Additionally, Karen touches on monetization strategies, encouraging podcasters to frequently promote their offers and services through their content.   To illustrate the importance of consistent action, Karen points out that simply launching a podcast is not enough; ongoing effort is required to drive leads and sales. By breaking tasks into manageable chunks and incorporating them into a daily routine, podcasters can avoid burnout and achieve long-term success. She underscores the necessity of clear processes and strategies, which help streamline the workflow and make daily tasks more manageable.   Looking ahead, Karen teases the next episode, where she will host Nicole Christina to discuss how to make memorable podcast appearances. The misconception that podcasting is an easy route to audience reach is widespread. While it's simple to start, success requires patience, strategy, and consistency. To combat these challenges, we've developed an implementation course covering three crucial phases: setup, post-production, and promotion.   The setup phase lays the foundation for success. Your podcast must align with your vision and purpose. Choosing a title that articulates your message and planning your podcast structure are vital steps. Preparing content in advance minimizes overwhelm and ensures consistency in delivery.   Moving to the post-production phase, crafting quality content becomes paramount. From booking guests to researching interviews, meticulous planning is essential. Designing graphics, crafting intros, and setting up podcast feeds demand attention to detail to maintain professionalism and engagement.   In the promotion phase, launching isn't enough; you must promote relentlessly. Building relationships, leveraging social media, and collaborations can amplify your reach and attract your target audience.   Success in podcasting isn't one-size-fits-all. It requires honing your hosting skills, crafting compelling content, and aligning with your goals. While podcasting offers immense benefits, it demands dedication and perseverance.   Before diving into podcasting, it's crucial to evaluate your goals, resources, and commitment. It's not a decision to be taken lightly. But with the right strategy and mindset, you can create a podcast that makes a meaningful impact.   Launching a podcast is a journey, not a destination. With dedication and support, you can create a podcast that resonates with your audience and achieves your goals. https://podcastprofitsunleashed.com/implementation   Welcome to today's episode! Today, we're diving into the crucial topic of turning your podcast guests into advocates for your show. As podcasters, we understand the value of guest appearances in expanding our reach, but often the promotion process can feel like a one-way street. In this episode, I'll share six actionable tips to nurture your episode promotion process and build stronger relationships with your guests.   Tip 1: Prep Like a Pro Before the recording, ensure you're connected with your guest on relevant social media platforms. Communicate your promotion process during the recording session, and set a release date as soon as possible. Over-communicate if needed, as clarity fosters collaboration.   Tip 2: Express Gratitude Send a personalized thank-you email or DM to your guest after the recording session. Acknowledge their contribution and express genuine appreciation for their time and insights. This simple gesture goes a long way in fostering goodwill.   Tip 3: Create Shareable Assets Take the initiative to create promotional assets for your guests, including images, social media posts, and blog content. Craft these materials from the guest's perspective to streamline their promotion efforts. Providing ready-to-use assets saves time and demonstrates your commitment to mutual success.   Tip 4: Utilize Live Streaming Schedule a live stream a few days after the episode release, inviting your guest to join. This collaborative effort amplifies your reach as you both engage with your respective audiences in real-time. Share insights from the episode and direct viewers to listen, boosting downloads and visibility.   Bonus Tip: Leverage Guest Influence For guests with substantial audiences, propose a sponsorship or shout-out exchange. Don't hesitate to ask for promotion on their platforms, including links to your episode in their show notes. This reciprocal arrangement benefits both parties and maximizes exposure.   Bonus Tip: Embrace Organization Stay organized throughout the promotion process by maintaining a checklist and scheduling reminders. Block out time each week for promotion-related tasks, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. Clarity and consistency are key to successful episode promotion.   Remember, guesting on podcasts is more than a transaction—it's an opportunity to build lasting relationships. By implementing these strategies, you'll not only increase your podcast's visibility but also cultivate a network of advocates invested in your success.   If you're seeking comprehensive guidance on podcasting, join us for our monthly workshops and implementation days.
