Communication secrets from magic and hypnotism How to better connect with people you don't know yet Episode 210 republished (David is based in Boston) In this conversation with David Reich we explore: Magic skills that enhance your communications The importance of observing your audience How to watch where people's eyes are Why you need to break the pattern How to find common ground Magic phrases to boost the connection How to influence decisions Understanding the perception and motivation of the audience Why you don't need care about who gets credit How to adapt when the magic trick doesn't work  About our guest, David Reich: David has had a successful career as a technology and thought leader, and combines that with his passion and talent as a magician, mentalist and stage hypnotist, to create unique experiences of Entertainment, Education and Enlightenment. David discovered how the principles of a mystery performer can be used to become an overall better communicator, and more specifically, he has developed the Tactical Communication Method. Learn mor about David Reich and his services at his website https://davidreich.com/ Get your free copy of the Seven Tools of Tactical Communication  https://davidreich.com/tacticalcommunication/ ----- Excerpts from this conversation with David Reich:   Action Items Practice observation techniques to understand how messages are landing and tailor communication accordingly. Use phrases like "help me understand" instead of disagreeing to have constructive discussions. Focus on being authentic, candid and vulnerable in conversations rather than putting on airs. ----- The biggest key really is observation. We have to look at other people, we have messages, we have things we want to say, we want to sell an idea, we want to convey a joke, we want to tell. And we have to not only know what we want to say, but how it's landing. And that's actually how I came up with this whole tactical communication method. Because as a magician as a mentalist, as you're going through your performance and your communication, you need to see how things are landing where people's eyes are. And if it's working, and if it's not. And then and this, this takes a bit of practice, okay, can't do it overnight, just like anything good requires a bit of practice. But you can start to tailor your message and tailor how you're communicating real time on the fly, to make your message resonate. And that's how you get people to want to hear what you have to say. ----- ----more---- Your Intended Message is the podcast about how you can boost your career and business success by honing your communication skills. We'll examine the aspects of how we communicate one-to-one, one to few and one to many – plus that important conversation, one to self.  Arnold SchwarzeneggerI am not a fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger,...Still, if people want to become successful they find great value in his 7 tools for life. For the spiritual and religious path, we can successfully apply also his tools. The best times are the worst times…We find God on the battlefield of our life…Or in the bible, book of Job, and Hindu scripture we find enough support for his 7 tools! If you have to suffer to accomplish worldly things that are minor to spirituality, then you suffer even more for advancement on the inner path! And that confirms my episodes…“It's all about hard work… there's no shortcut and you have to put the work in.”“You can only strengthen your character and become a powerful person inside if you have resistance if you fail if you get up again and if you work hard and if you work your ass off and if you struggle.”If you train your biceps, so more resistance you give them, so more pain there is, so the more it grow. The same is true with the human mind. The Human mind can only grow, through resistance, you can strengthen your character and become a strong person inside if you have resistance, if you fail and get up again and you work hard and you work your ass up, you struggle… So the more you struggle so further you go and so stronger you get.“Anyone that tries to Baby themselves and pamper themselves and trying to protect themselves… I don't to feel bad, …you're never going to get there.”“You have to be able to struggle… accept pain, misery, and discomfort… the more you experience the things that you don't like, the more you can grow and the tougher you get and so more you can handle”And today the younger generation is avoiding pain, struggle… They want to feel good,“This country was built by ballsy women and men who struggled, fought, and worked their butts off.”And today society/ politicians are building up a generation of wimps and weak people...Their concern is how I feel today, I don't want to be hurt.Instead of teaching how to become strong, and tough. My Video: Be useful seven tools for life  https://youtu.be/jgI7pmgaze0My Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast4/Be-useful-seven-tools-for-life.mp3

Arnold Schwarzenegger's book "Be Useful" presents seven life tools, with the seventh being a commitment to giving back. He challenges the idea of a "self-made man," emphasizing that everyone benefits from the support of others and has a responsibility to give back. Inspired by his father-in-law Sargent Shriver's speech, he advocates for breaking the mirrors of self-absorption and focusing on helping others. This mindset, backed by scientific studies, leads to greater happiness and contentment. Giving back can take many forms, from volunteering to mentoring, and role models like Dolly Parton and Warren Buffet exemplify its impact. Ultimately, Schwarzenegger argues that true fulfillment comes from contributing to others' well-being, which in turn enhances one's own life. Rev. Wendy shares about open-minded curiosity, today from the "Be Useful," book. This chapter, titled "Shut Your Mouth, Open Your Mind," emphasizes the importance of listening more than speaking, quoting various sources like the Bible and the Dalai Lama to highlight this point. Schwarzenegger argues that curiosity, driven by humility, attracts generosity and opens doors to learning and personal growth. Historical figures like Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo, Einstein, and Steve Jobs exemplify how curiosity can lead to groundbreaking discoveries. To cultivate curiosity, Schwarzenegger suggests staying open-minded, asking questions, reading widely, and engaging in lifelong learning. Schwarzenegger's life, from an Austrian immigrant to a global icon, showcases the power of selling oneself and one's ideas. He underscores that everyone, regardless of their profession, engages in a form of sales in daily interactions. Click HERE To Get The 7 Tools - My 5X Your Farm Sales Program This week you saw me offer feedback on several farm websites that I know from experience, when you implement the coaching I offered, will be the start of you 5X'ing your farm sales. That's just one coaching session. We do this EVERY week inside the coaching program. The farmers I'm giving feedback to each week are selling out in ONE email what used to take them months. They're selling more in ONE WEEK than they used to sell the whole season. They're raising their prices to make a 40%+ profit finally. Join Now and Begin 5X'ing Your Farm Sales AND Your Life All because they're committing to doing the work of working on their mindset and their marketing for one year. Not only are they making more money, they experience this: No longer feeling burned out Working reasonable hours Setting firm boundaries Making daily time for themselves Feeling present with their family every day You've got to know, though, 5X'ing your farm sales is not all about the money. It never is. Yes, money solves a lot of immediate problems. We solve those for sure! But then, 5X'ing their farm sales becomes about so much more. Paid off mortgages. Husbands and wives able to quit day-jobs and be home full-time on the farm. Healed marriages. Healed relationships with parents and in-laws and kids. No more juggling bills each month because there's always enough in the bank. Finally taking a family getaway during the busiest months of summer... with NO guilt. And more. INFINITELY more. The average person will 5X their sales. Some less, some more, depending on how committed you are to the coaching. And then you find - The more profit your farm makes, the more you are able to do for your community, your family, and yourself. It's the difference between being stuck at the computer trying to make the numbers work and being able to hire and help a bookkeeper make a living so you can improve the soil. It's about working hard and seeing your customers have better health and better lives because of your farm products. It's about having time for yourself again and having more time with your family, instead of constantly working and worrying about being able to pay the bills. And I know you're no stranger to hard work, so if you're willing to put in the effort to make these outcomes happen for you, sign up for my program, 5x Your Farm Sales Coaching Program for Farmers. Inside, you'll get one year of: Advanced Marketing Strategies for your specific marketing pieces. Focused feedback every week. According to Marcos Aguiar, senior partner and managing director at BCG Sao Paulo, Brazil, 7 out of the 10 most valuable companies in the world, are ecosystems. When there is no trust or if the level of trust falls in an ecosystem, participants are less likely to cooperate and frictions occur, harming their performance. Competence is by far the most prevalent trust driver in the ecosystems he studied, among others companies like Sony, Amazon, Handy, HopSkipDrive, Spotify, BaseCamp, Blix, Tile, Match, Ant Group's Trusple, Doordash, TaskRabbit and Apple. There are tools you can use to reinforce trust, or to substitute for trust, which is what the BCG Henderson Institute identified in the successful ecosystems they studied, the “7 tools for building a business people trust”.

My guest today Steven Hall is a medical doctor who specializes in people with chronic problems that conventional medicine hasn't been able to help. For over 30 years he has watched his patients heal, sometimes from things that seem impossible, by addressing the root causes of their pain. They showed him that healing is a process; a deep transformational process, not a quick fix. And that healing is a practice that follows the same seven steps, which Dr. Steven calls The Seven Tools of Healing. He now coaches parents in how to raise their children to have a high level of emotional intelligence, so their children won't need so much healing work later as adults. He is married to a child-education and literature expert and, together, they have raised four children, several of whom home-schooled for parts of their education.

Dr. Steven Hall is a board-certified family practitioner and author who incorporates integrative medicine into his practice. Integrative medicine is practicing medicine in a way that selectively incorporates elements of complementary and alternative medicine into comprehensive treatment plans alongside solidly orthodox methods of diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Hall focuses on activating the mind, body, and spirit to treat the whole person.  Dr. Hall is interested not only in the content of science, but also the process of, “how is it what we think we know is really true?” Dr. Hall says, “One of the most unscientific things that scientists can do is discard the data that doesn't fit the model. At first, I thought well maybe alternative medicine has some good answers. Along the way, I started studying bodywork. I had also studied clinical hypnosis.” Dr. Hall aims to connect the unconscious mind with the conscious mind to allow each patient to communicate with their pain centers. In his book, https://www.amazon.com/Seven-Tools-Healing-Unlock-Desires/dp/1504397622 (The 7 Tools of Healing), he focuses on unlocking your inner wisdom and living the life your soul desires. In his own words, “As people would get in touch with their inner wisdom, as it would take over their own life, you see a part of yourself that you want to change. As you force it to change you get resistance. When you practice a skill you get better at it. These are the 7 tools of healing.” The 7 tools of healing are as follows: Faith Awareness  Acceptance Compassion Forgiveness  Gratitude  Right action  Acceptance is considered the most important skill of all. Dr. Hall says, “we want our truth to be a certain way, so whenever we try to see our truth right now we try to fix it or change it. That makes us violate a law of consciousness. Acceptance is so important because you really can't change until you accept the way you are. If you look at how consciousness works that's your creative power and that's what allows us to create things. Creativity flows where you focus your intention.” Our discussion shined a light on inner wisdom and admitting your moment right now. The importance of being kind to ourselves at that moment and possessing the mindfulness to be aware enough of our emotional and physical state. Our beliefs quite literally determine how we physically respond to situations. Because how we think shapes how we live.” That’s the premise of her book, “Get Out of Your Head: Stopping the Spiral of Toxic Thoughts,” a New York Times bestseller on discovering how to submit our minds to Christ. It was also the focus of a six-week virtual book club for moms, facilitated by Caring Magazine and co-hosted by Captain Christina Arnold and Kelly Rodriguez, LMFT. Moms from all over and of all different life experiences joined in to talk about the importance of our thoughts, what happens when those negative thoughts invade, and how to make the choice to shift them to good. In this episode of The Future Focused Podcast, I share seven tools for the leader's mind. We have tools all over our house. We have tools to cook, tools to make repairs, tools for our electronics, and we even have tools to work on our bodies. All of these tools help us to do things better. We have tools to help us in every place in our lives, but one area that most feel they lack tools is our minds. We need tools to help us think better. Today you’re going to be given seven awesome tools that the legends of leadership utilize to level-up and make a difference.  Our minds are powerful tools when we know how to put them to use. They can solve any problem and help us achieve any goal when we utilize these tools. Without the proper, mental leadership tools our minds can work against us and make us its prisoner. If you are seeing success as a leader you are most likely already applying some of these tools.  I also hope you will sign-up for my newsletter. I am giving away a free tool called The Leadership Matrix. It will allow you to identify where you are strong in leadership, and where you need to improve. To get the tool, all you need to do is sign-up for my newsletter, but this offer expires soon.  This episode will help you become a better leader. We have got to educate people, as to what freedom and liberty are about, what the constitution is all about, parental rights, and who our kids belong to. That’s very elementary. Socialism and Marxism would have us believe our kids belong to the government.” – Zan Tyler   While we were at the Firmly Planted Homeschool Resource Center, in Vancouver, Washington to finish filming interviews for Schoolhouse Rocked, homeschool pioneer, Zan Tyler stopped by for a surprise visit. Zan was instrumental in the fight to make homeschooling legal in South Carolina, in the early 1980s. She was in Oregon to speak at the Oregon Christian Home Education Association Network (OCEANetwork) homeschool conference, in Albany, Oregon and wanted to visit Heidi St. John and get a tour of the homeschool resource center. Because her story of the legal battles and persecution that she endured to pave the way for homeschooling families in her state provided such important historical perspective and cautionary advice, we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to interview her for the movie and for the podcast. Following her dramatic battle for the right to homeschool her children, Zan went on to teach them through graduation and all three of them attended college on a variety of scholarships. Gaining resolve during her battle, she went on to fight for other homeschooling families in South Carolina and across the United States, founding the South Carolina Association of Independent Home Schools in 1990, Speaking at homeschool conventions around the world, and writing several books, including Seven Tools for Cultivating Your Child’s Potential and the forward for Heidi St. John's Busy Homeschool Mom's Guide to Daylight: Managing Your Days Through the Homeschool Years. Since 1983, they have provided homeschooling-related legal advice and representation to their more than 80,000 member families, promoting homeschool-friendly legislation at the state and federal levels, and offering information and resources to encourage and support all homeschoolers. Through the years, HSLDA’s primary goal has remained the same—to bring together a large number of homeschooling families so that each can have a low-cost method of obtaining quality legal defense. Do you remember podcast episode #92 where I talked about my new goal of Failing 100 times?  At the beginning of this year, I set the goal to fail 100 times in my business, personally and in my life.  The whole concept came from a podcast episode by Amy Porterfield (EP# 247) where she set the goal to fail 100 times this year, not because she wanted to drop everything and mess up, but because she wanted to set goals that were so high that she was destined to “fail.”   The whole premise of failing 100 times was to reach for the stars instead of setting goals that held us back and limited us. Well, I decided that I was going to fail 100 times this year, but I was hit by a rude awakening that has completely changed the way I think about failure.  As some of you may know, I have been struggling with some pretty serious medical and emotional issues this year.  It has been a very scary and uncertain journey for me, but I have learned so much about myself.  What ended up happening was that I ended up failing in ways I wasn't even expecting and I came to see just how hard I am on myself.   I am scared to share this with you, but I have decided that it is a beautiful day to do hard things.  So, this episode is about how I am failing at 100 things that I didn’t set out to fail.  I hope you find it helpful and that it inspires you to take a close look at how you conceptualize failure.  And finally, I ask you, how are you doing at failing 100 times this year?  There are a few things I want to remind you of before we go! The annual IOCDF conference is being held in Austin, TX, from July 19-21. This national meeting focuses solely on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related disorders. I will be one of the presenters among over 100 presentations, workshops, and seminars. There will be support groups and evening events as well. Click HERE for more information and to buy tickets. Seven Tools for Living Your Unstoppable Life is a practical self-help book grounded in Psychotherapist Catherine DeMonte’s 25 years of clinical psychotherapy practice. Based on the Abundance Circle groups she created and leads, this book contains the tools her clients used to realize their dreams. Written with nurturing warmth and humor, this book addresses both the inner and outer work necessary for creating lasting shifts. Andy and Dave discuss the latest developments in OpenAI’s AI team that competed against human players in Dota 2, a team-based tower defense game. Researchers published a method for probing Atari agents to understand where the agents were focusing when learning to play games (and to understand why they are good at games like Space Invaders, but not at Ms. Pac-Man). A DeepMind AI can match health experts when spotting eye diseases from optical coherence tomography (OCT) scans; it uses two networks to segment the problems, which also allows a way for the AI to indicate which portion of the scans prompted the diagnosis. Research from Germany and the UK showed that children may be especially vulnerable to peer pressure from robots; the experiments replicated Asch’s social experiments from the 1950s, but interestingly adults did not show the same vulnerability to robot peer pressure. Research from Rosenfeld, Zemel, and Tsotsos showed that “minor” perturbations in images (such as shifting the location of an elephant) can cause misclassifications to occur, again highlighting the potential for failures in image classifiers. Andy recommends “The Seven Tools of Causal Inference with Reflections on Machine Learning” by Pearl; Algorithms for Reinforcement Learning by Szepesvari is available online; Robin Sloan has a novel, Sourdough, with much use of AI and robots; Wolfram has an interview on the computational universe; a new documentary on AI look at the life and role of Geoffrey Hinton ; and Josh Tenenbaum examines the issues of “Growing a Mind in a Machine.”
