I hope you're ready today for a doozy!  There is a skyscraper in Chicago known as Willis Tower. And one of the features of the tower is a glass sightseeing box extending from the 103rd floor. It attracts 1.5 million visitors each year.  Pretty trippy, if you ask me.BUT, what's even scarier is that back in 2019, the protective layer covering the glass floor of the Skydeck shattered into millions of pieces. No one knows really why - but it just shattered. Apparently it happened when a woman with her two kids were standing there inside the extended box.Needless to say, people are afraid to go out on the ledge anymore! So I mentioned last week that we would look at the doctrine of the Trinity. And like the Skydeck, so many people are afraid to tackle the concept of the Trinity. We think it's difficult, if not impossible, to understand - and even harder to explain! So people tend to stay safe, far away from the ledge. On top of that, you have both certain denominations within Christianity, as well as some Christian-LIKE cults who have tried to shatter this doctrine with frontal attacks on the Trinity. It's my hope when we're finished, each of us will grow in our delight of the triune God and our faith will be fortified. AND, if you are good at taking notes, I hope you'll pick up some good points to use when someone asks you WHY you (and your church) believe in the Trinity.

Hi and welcome to another episode of conversation with a chef. I'm Jo Rittey and I love sharing with you the conversations I get to have with talented and passionate chefs. It's the back story, if you will, to the food they are putting up. I begin today by acknowledging the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, traditional custodians of the lands and airwaves where this conversation takes place, land which was never ceded, land where communities came together to eat seasonally, locally and without exhausting resources. I pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. Yesterday I rode 89 floors in an elevator to Eureka 89, the restaurant one floor above the Melbourne Skydeck to talk to the glorious Renee Martillano, who Is the Executive chef there. The Skydeck is the Southern Hemisphere's highest observation deck and the tower itself is 297.3 metres tall with 91 floors. So the 89th floor is a long way up. It is beautiful up there and I loved sitting up there with Renee, hearing her story with such an incredible backdrop. I think it says a lot about a chef and about a venue when there is longevity involved and Renee has been riding the lift to the 89th floor since 2011. She loves it. And that's obvious from the way she talks about the food, but more importantly the way she talks about her team. Yesterday was her day off but she went into the kitchen to see how they were all going, and she talked about staff meals and how she loves how that brings everyone together. I can't wait to go back and have one of Renee's five or six course degustation dinners, looking out across the Yarra to the Dandenongs. I decided to include the start of my journey, so you are actually going to ride the lift with me and meet Danielle, the sales and marketing manager who took Renee and I up to the 89th floor and then we get into the chat.

Dr. Daniël Reichman - CEO and co-founder of Ai-RGUS        If Duke University has this problem with its security 2000 cameras, probably somebody else has that problem too. So, I ran with an idea that wasn't even mine. We use AI to make sure security cameras are working. Recent estimates say there are 900 million cameras in the world. So, lots of potential problems. Dr. Daniël Reichman is the CEO and Chief Scientist of Ai-RGUS, an AI startup which provides a software solution to security camera systems. Ai-RGUS automatically verifies that security cameras are producing the video they were intended to capture, thereby ensuring video evidence will be available after an incident has occurred. Ai-RGUS is commercializing AI software that Dr. Reichman's lab at Duke University developed for the institution, at the request of the administration. With over 24 university publications, Dr. Reichman obtained his doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Duke University in 2017—a program fully funded by the U.S. Army Research Office. He has successfully completed consulting projects, including the development of software to assist in reading more than 10,000 pages which needed to be summarized, and developing software to automate aspects of financial projection for New York Life Insurance's portfolio of liabilities. Caroline Winnett - Executive Director at Berkeley SkyDeck Our mission is to be the world's top global accelerator. Caroline Winnett is the executive director of UC Berkeley's startup accelerator and founder of its VC fund. As a serial entrepreneur, she co-founded neuromarketing company Neurofocus, which was acquired by Nielsen, and has been in the New York Times and Business Insider. By now, we all know that women and minority-led companies need more funding, but there's another gap-closing tool that Caroline swears by: finding a mentor. Few founders have one (22%), but nearly 70% of companies noticed a rise in productivity due to mentorship. From introducing you to valuable connections to sharing tips on getting VCs to take you seriously as a woman or person of color, mentors are like a cheat code!
