In this episode, I welcome back Nic Wilson, who was also in the last episode. This marks the return to talking about Aware Parenting, and is the first episode in a mini-series about people's journeys to become Aware Parenting instructors. Please note that Nic shares about going through a very tough time of three years of her daughter waking up every 45 minutes and feeling desperate and in her own words, "very low". Nic then talks about coming to Aware Parenting, how much it resonated, and the transformation it has brought to her and her daughter, who is now 11. Because Aware Parenting was so life-changing and life-saving for her, she knew that this is what she wanted to offer other parents. Nic shares about starting my Aware Parenting Instructor Mentoring Course, and then the amazing synchronicity that happened! Nic also talks about doing 1:1 Aware Parenting Instructor Mentoring with me, and the process she went through to start posting on Instagram. She also explains how connected she and her daughter are, and gives tangible examples of this. We talk about how much we both love waking up and creating posts or doing other things to share Aware Parenting. Nic offers 1:1 mentoring, as well as her Surviving School with Aware Parenting and The Marion Method Course, amongst other courses. You can find her on Instagram at: https://www.instagram.com/peacefulparenting/ and on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/PeacefulParenting.com.au Her website is at: https://peacefulparenting.com.au/ You can find out more about my work at www.marionrose.net and my books at: https://marionrose.net/books/ You can also find me here: https://www.instagram.com/theawareparentingpodcast/ https://www.instagram.com/_marion_rose_/ https://www.instagram.com/awareparenting/ www.facebook.com/MarionRosePhD If you're interested in doing my Aware Parenting Instructor Mentoring Course or 1:1 Aware Parenting Instructor Mentoring, I invite you to send me a message on social media or email me at marion@marionrose.net
Happy Thursday! In today's episode, we dive into baby feeding – breast, bottle, combo – all of it. We're answering all YOUR questions—my personal breastfeeding journey, the mental struggles of breastfeeding, and what we've learned about formulas in the US vs. Europe. This is probably my #1 asked topic on social (and honestly, what's on my mind most of the time), so I'm excited we sat down and shared our experience / what we've learned. BUT ALSO, we share a funny (and sleep-deprived) mistake we made (think: Dude, where's my car?), the Valentine's Day present gone wrong (gift saga part 2983479), and apparently, Harrison got held up at gunpoint one time?? As always, we love sharing our parenting journey with you, so we hope this episode gives you laughs and some helpful insights (disclaimer: our research is ChatGPT heavy and this isn't “Two Doctors & a Pod” so please don't take this as ADVICE). And - one last thing - we're still LEARNING.. appreciate any and all thoughts, formula recs, and resources in the comments!!!! We LOVE YOU GUYS!! Kirk Parsley completed SEAL training at the age of 19 and served as a 60-gunner on SEAL Team Five in Coronado, California. He left the SEAL community in 1994 to pursue a college education. Later, he re-entered the US Navy to attend the military's medical school in Bethesda, Maryland, where he was commissioned as a Navy Officer in 2000.After completing medical school, internship, and residency, Kirk returned to the SEAL teams as the physician for the West Coast SEAL teams. Kirk was tasked with helping the world's most elite warriors optimize and maintain their performance after eight years of sustained combat. It was during this period that he noticed a significant gap between "healthcare" and true "health."Kirk was compelled to delve into extensive alternative medical literature, synthesizing and applying it effectively and practically to ensure the SEALs could perform at their peak 365 days a year. Performance and fitness are related components of a SEAL's ability, but they are not synonymous.Due to the limitations and restrictions of medical interventions available in austere environments with limited medical support, Kirk had to develop plans that relied minimally on pharmaceuticals, supplements, or gadgets. His unparalleled success led him to become a sought-after medical human performance expert, not only for Navy SEALs but also for various military special forces commands. He parlayed this experience into private consulting for professional sports teams, international corporations, law enforcement, first responders, the Department of Justice, entrepreneurs, and executives.Dr. Parsley has collaborated with numerous elite performers, achieving remarkable results in optimizing their physical, cognitive, and emotional performance. His philosophy is straightforward: our bodies are built on a 100,000+ year-old model, and we perform best by emulating the lifestyle we evolved to live as closely as possible, striving to attain the health metrics of our 25-year-old selves. Kirk firmly believes that 80% of health is derived from focusing on Sleep, Nutrition, Exercise, and Stress mitigation, with a strong emphasis on Sleep. Kirk is certified in Hyperbaric Medicine, Anti-Aging Medicine, Hormone Replacement Therapy, and is currently pursuing national certification in Psychedelic Medicine Therapies. He dedicates a significant portion of his time to advising non-profit organizations that support the SEAL community and providing healthcare guidance and treatment to veterans. Operating his practice and supplement business from Austin, Texas, Kirk is an avid outdoorsman and fitness enthusiast. When he's not working or working out, you can usually find him in nature, continuously enhancing his medical skills. SHOWNOTES:

One of the most frequent questions I get asked online and on the podcast is about parenting. How do you raise resilient children, how do you stay sane as a parent? It can be a lot and we're all just trying to figure it out but instead of giving unsolicited advice, I brought in the big guns with Australia's leading parenting expert Lael Stone. Lael Stone is an Australian Speaker, Educator, and Author. Lael's passions are supporting parents to understand their children, helping adults process their own childhood trauma, and creating education systems that value emotional awareness. Everything is based on one fundamental principle – connection and compassion. Her work aims to help all humans understand themselves better and be inspired to live the life they desire. In this episode we talk about understanding your child's emotions, their mood swings, what they really want and are trying to say, what all kids crave from parents, how to create a resilient child, and tips and tricks on parenting and boundaries. At the end of each episode, I answer your questions. Guys, meet my best friend Elle! Yes, I do have friends, not many these days but the ones that have stuck around are my people. Elle has been my best friend since year 7 but apparently, I found out in this chat, that the feeling of being friends since day 1 wasn't mutual and from her story, I can't blame her. We are polar opposites and that's why we probably work, my job and life are online and she doesn't have any social media. We talk about growing up together, stories from high school (which I hope my parents don't listen to) and what's our friendship like these days. At the end of each episode, I answer your questions. We bicker, we laugh and there is a whole lot of love. Enjoy getting to know the Clinton Crew. At the end of each episode, I answer your questions. Have a question? We're back, season 2. A little bit of a life update in this episode, a catch up session and I am so nervous about it. We travel back in time to when I went to LA and met Rih Rih. What happened in that whirlwind trip, what was Rihanna like, we have been seriously sleep deprived in our house thanks to Soul and had to hire a sleep nurse, and then we get to the juicy stuff. This episode is the most vulnerable I have ever been, they say vulnerability is the door to connection and we are busting down that door in today's episode. But in a good way, the good news, is I am working on myself guys. I am doing the work because life can sometimes swallow you up and spit you out and it's how you respond to that. I want my children to grow up knowing it's ok and good to be honest about your feelings and at this moment in time in my life, my anxiety is swallowing me good. Oh, I also blocked Ben on TikTok...At the end of each episode, I answer your questions. Have a question? Leave a message at 1800 Sleep Deprived. This week I put my sister in the chair, Bella Wolfgang, and asked her everything I wanted to know without having Mum, Dad, or Ben there. We never get to talk like this.Bella talks about why I am what I am, she dropped me on my head as a kid and that's when our rivalry started, joking we weren't competitive growing up. Bella being the second eldest though got the rough end of the stick and me being the youngest was a little rebel and got away with a lot more. We have a special bond as sisters but are polar opposites, I'm a married mum of 3 and Bella is in her 30's, single girl, adventure delulu era.Bella opens up and we talk about single life, motherhood (does she even want kids), traveling around the world, and trigger warning we talk about body image and body dysmorphia. Topics we cover: - Sibling dynamics - Single girl era in your 30's. How to not let societal pressure/expectations get to you when all your friends and family are settling down and having babies- Body clock, wanting kids, and pregnancy - Relationship, dating advice, and finding a solid partner. You can find love at any age, and advice from Q&A's on how to date- Body image/orthorexia/body dysmorphia - Finding yourself and healing after relationships, being OK with being aloneAt the end of each episode, I answer your questions.
