Physician and psychologist Heidi Feldman is a pioneer in the field of developmental behavioral pediatrics who says that the world's understanding of childhood disability is changing and so too are the ways we approach it. Where once institutionalization was common, today we find integrative, family-centered approaches, charting a more humane, hopeful path forward. For example, for children born prematurely with increased likelihood of disability, increasing skin-to-skin contact – what is called  “kangaroo care” – can literally reshape that child's brain development, she tells host Russ Altman on this episode of Stanford Engineering's The Future of Everything podcast.Have a question for Russ? 095 Discovering Wim Hof with Steph Ingram | The Wim Hof MethodIn this episode, we are joined by Steph Ingram, a children's Physiotherapist. She recently finished in the NHS and organized the well-being week for the staff as a leaving gift, which made her feel fantastic. Steph is currently taking some time off for herself to do some self-development. Today, Steph comes onto the show to share her experiences at the Wim Hof retreat and about people's well-being and mental health.Discovering Wim Hof[3:07]Steph used to do cold showers. She didn't know the science behind it or why she enjoyed them, but she always took one and would feel good about herself when she came out. She had a little look at Wim Hof's stuff and ended up signing into a summer retreat of his because she thinks you have to experience these things. The Retreat[6:26]She thought that the whole experience of the retreat was amazing. Steph thinks the ice baths are the biggest part of the Wim Hof method.Perfect Timing[12:22]You are allowed to take a specific time limit in ice baths. In three minutes, the body starts becoming hypothermic so two minutes is enough just for the health benefits of it. However, once you start going over that three-minute mark, that's when you know you're controlling the mind. The Breath[17:47]Steph thinks you must do any Wim Hof breath work because it reinforces that you are the driver of your vehicle and look after yourself. If something doesn't feel good, you bring it back or if you don't feel like it's enough, move forward. But at the end of the day, you are in charge.Canyoning[24:14]Canyoning used to be one of Steph's experiences available to her, but she never had the time to try it before. At one point, she saw a man in a river who couldn't swim but was floating, and it didn't stop him from going canyoning. If he can do it, why can't you?[28:04]Being in that sort of environment made Steph feel grounded in a way. Just being with nature and around that sort of natural beauty was just amazing for her.By listening to this episode, you will UNLOCK...What is the Wim Hof MethodHow the Wim Hof retreat can help you unlock your potentialHow the power of the breath & cold exposure can help battle mental healthConnect with Steph herehttps://www.linkedin.com/in/stephanie-ingram-6591471a2/Patreon thanks!Shout out to the amazing Patron supporters for keeping this podcast going; thank you Ant Howe, Jasmine Barnes, Chloe Wilmot, Sara Kay, Cheri Brenton, Steve McDermott, Chris Lovett & Rory Barnes! So many of us are doing all we can to break the cycles we were raised in and provide a better life and future for the next generation. Through our pain and struggles, we can grow into the person we are meant to be. On the other hand, it is easy to blame our circumstances and choose the “easy” path of making excuses as to why we are not reaching our goals. The key is to choose the hard path first and pave the way for an easier future for ourselves and our children. Today's guest is an incredibly inspiring example of doing just that, and he encourages us to dig deep to find our core values and filter everything in our lives through them in order to find success.Matt Schneider is the Executive Vice-President & equity owner of a global software (SaaS) company with a target valuation of over $150M. He is also the co-founder of The MDK Project, a leadership development program, and The Squire Program, a development program for young men and their fathers to experience together. Prior to becoming a successful entrepreneur, Matt spent 7 years in Special Operations on SWAT and was a TFO on the United States Marshal's Office Fugitive Team. Matt has helped 7 and 8-figure companies elevate their profits by focusing on leadership, team cohesion, and problem-solving complex issues that are costing a great deal of time and money. In this episode of Lead Sell Grow - The Human Experience podcast, Matt gets real with us about the fact that too many people in our society bail at the first sign of a struggle or adversity. What we need to do is embrace hard times and use them as an opportunity for growth and development for who we want to become. Regardless of our background or personal circumstances, we all have the ability and obligation to take charge of our life and pivot toward a life of abundance. Matt is open about the mistakes he made in his early business days, and how those mistakes cost him his health, happiness, and a lot of money. By establishing his non-negotiable core values and filtering everything in his life through them, Matt was able to turn his life around and create abundance and success.Key highlights:Matt's background and childhood and why he wanted to break the cycle he was raised inWhat it was like to be in Special Operations on SWATEmbracing growth in adversityHaving values and non-negotiables for his habits, relationships, and businessMatt's 4 core values and how they have changed every aspect of his lifeThe problem with cancel culture and why everyone is easily triggeredWhat was going wrong that made Matt create core values? How he helps people realize their potentialHow having ore values has changed his lifeHow Matt measures if he is improvingToo many people lack the discipline to get where they want to goHow to turn your employees into Intrapreneurs and have them fired up about making your company betterWho Matt's program is for and what people get out of itPeople will do more to avoid pain than to seek pleasureOn the other side of adversity and pain, is where passion is foundHis advice to someone that doesn't know where to start to reach their goalsConnect with Matt Schneider:Website: ignitionyearcoaching.comInstagram: @mattschneider_officialConnect with Eric:Be sure to connect with me in the Lead Sell Grow - The Human Experience Mastermind Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/leadsellgrow/Pick up your copy of B2B Sales Secrets HereLearn more about our services: www.TheGoalGuide.comImprove your sales and stay connected – Free Gifts Here https://shor.by/TheGoalGuide

Uniting different personalities and skillsets into a single vision is not easy. But there is an even bigger mountain to climb when you factor in gender dynamics—and the need to create an inclusive culture that both embraces and nurtures female leadersWhen we talk about nurturing female leaders in the church, this means creating an environment where they feel empowered to take on leadership roles and feel comfortable doing so. In other words: we want them to be able to express their gifts without fear or hesitation. While the Bible does not explicitly address the issue of gender equality within leadership, it does call for us to treat one another as equals in Christ (Galatians 3:28). It's important to note that God has called each of us into service, whether we're male or female, and that means that our churches need to do all they can to cultivate opportunities for women to serve, lead, and influence. In this episode, Kadi Cole, a veteran in leadership and people development, talks about what it means for women in leadership roles and how this relates to the church's mission.“We all want the body to be healthy and strong, and everybody loves and values women. We just have to be clear on how we're leading our cultures to make sure we're inviting women to the tables we want them to be at, that we're helping everyone, men and women, discover their gifts and live out their calling.”-Kadi ColeIf you're looking for strategies for encouraging women to step up in leadership, then this episode is for you!By the end of this episode, you will learn:How to help women reach their leadership potentialHow women can find their leadership voiceWhy you need diversity on your teamImpact of the gender pay gapSome insights and research results from her book, Developing Female LeadersResources Mentioned:Read her book: Developing Female LeadersKnow more about Kadi Cole and Company: Kadi Cole & CompanyFollow Kadi on Instagram: @KadiColeLike Kadi on Facebook: Kadi Lang ColeJoin Ministry Chick on Facebook: Ministry ChickOther Episodes You May be Interested In:What It Means to Be a Christian Leader with Richard StearnsHow to Promote Unity in the Church with Rob LaneHow Serving Together Can Bring Unity in the Church with Will Archer =======Tithely provides the tools you need to engage with your church online, stay connected, increase generosity, and simplify the lives of your staff. With tools like text and email messaging, custom church apps and websites, church management software, digital giving, and so much more… it's no wonder over 37,000 churches in 50 countries trust Tithely to help run their church.Learn more at https://tithely.com

As far as being 'alone' goes, my guest Erling Kagge has experienced the extreme end of the spectrum. The first man to ever complete the Three Poles challenge (that's Mount Everest, the North Pole and the South Pole) on foot, Erling once spent 50 days alone, without radio contact, during his solo South Pole expedition in 1992 – a feat which saw him featured on the cover of Time magazine the following year. While it's impossible not to be awed by Erling's achievements, this podcast has always – at its core – celebrated those more moderate, everyday form of aloneness accessible to us all. Which is why the next part of this famous Polar explorer's career is so fascinating: he went on to write books with beautifully-simple, inclusive titles, Walking: One Step At A Time and Silence: In The Age Of Noise, which offer a guide, based on Erling's unique vantage point, of how we can access the stillness and solitude inside our own minds through simple everyday practices. 'After having travelled to hundreds of countries,' he tells me, 'My interpretation is the universe in your own mind – your body, your soul – is just as mysterious and huge as the universe stretching out to the stars and the planets'.We discuss, among other things:Why Erling found living in London lonelier than 50 days & nights alone in the South PoleHow being a Polar explorer can affect your relationshipsThe relationship between time alone and fulfilling your life's potentialHow being close to nature helps you to be presentYou can order Erling Kagge's book, Silence In The Age Of Noise, now from Amazon and Waterstones. It's a #fromthevault release of Episode 109 with Scott Armstrong.Scott is Canadian and he started his career as a corporate banker who was deeply frustrated and knew there had to be more for than pushing paper. Over the last 20 years he worked with over 2000 businesses and individuals to help them create and grow. His company Limitless is now a group of passionate people with enough life perspective and skill sets to help you dream, create and live a life that satisfies like nothing else.In this episode, we talk about what left him to pivot and his fascination with getting others to lead limitless lives - and when he says limitless he means it, one of the images on the front page of his website, scottarmstronglimitless.com is an image jumping out of an aircraft. If you are soul searching, driving to work, feeling like you're stuck in the rat race, wondering what on earth how to find your purpose, you'll find this interview and Scott's work very appealing. As a business owner, he also leads by example and shares a pretty vulnerable point about saying no to a job that he would have leapt to deliver recently. He has also worked as a Software Development Engineer at Microsoft. On this episode of The Shape of Work, we picked his brain to have a litany of tactical insights on Web3, blockchain & more. We discuss with Madhavan:The most common recruiting challenges and how they overcame thatThe no-code potential in the Web3 worldDAO & its future/potentialHow to assess candidates for job-fitEpisode Highlights:Building a crypto community on Discord Madhavan Malolan shares his snippets about his journey of building a crypto company and nurturing an active community on Discord, a platform with a large population of cryptocurrency enthusiasts. Issues in the Web3 and Crypto space The Questbook founder talks about the potential of cryptocurrencies in a world where even highly educated professionals are not fully aware of crypto and Web3 and what can be built using these digital currencies.Incentivizing community members in the context of Web3Madhavan strongly feels that without incentivizing the community members, it is impossible to sustain a business that is so heavily dependent on its community. He talks about how individuals are now upskilling in the field of Web3 and cryptocurrencies, and they use Questbook as a marketplace to find opportunities. Recruitment challenges faced by companies dealing with these technologies While it's a great time for product managers and user experience designers to establish themselves in the tech market, there aren't sufficient Web3 developers in the ecosystem. It is why Madhavan has built Questbook - to enable developers to learn Web3 technology. As a company, Questbook is focusing on helping developers upskill and reach their potential to survive in today's thriving digital economy. Future and existing potential of DAOs DAO at its fundamental level facilitates decentralization of decision-making. Madhavan shares his thoughts on how Facebook, a highly centralized platform where Mark Zuckerburg takes all the decisions, is likely to move faster compared to DAO. He sheds light on how the need of the hour is to design economic incentives such that companies achieve both decentralization and speed. Choosing blockchain to build products Every blockchain has its advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, you need to choose them based on the use cases depending upon whether you prioritize security, faster transactions, or other things. For example, to achieve high security, bitcoin is a suitable blockchain. Comparison between ETH and ENS Madhavan says that ENS solves the issue of sharing addresses that one encounters while sharing an address on ETH. ENS is gaining prominence over other projects because of its emphasis on community, people, and the non-greedy approach of founders across tech companies. Future of NFT and Web3Though people buy NFTs only for further sale, Madhavan feels that it has got huge potential ahead. He also believes that NFTs will not reach millions of users but instead will be used as an identity or as credentials by professionals.Follow Madhavan on LinkedIn.

Ashish Anand is the Founder & CEO of Whrrl Loans, which allows the transfer of loan amount to farmers in just five minutes in a secure and transparent way by making the lending process risk-free for the banks using proprietary blockchain solutionsAs a parallel entrepreneur, Ashish recently founded Bru Finance, an award-winning Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocol which is linking real-world assets ranging from agricultural commodities, real estate, gold, mortgages, receivables, loans against securities and exotic assets with a new DeFi ecosystem, free from speculative products and protocols. In addition to his 17 years of experience in varied fields of finance, viz., debt syndication, CFO services, commodity finance, hedging etc. Ashish has spent four years in the blockchain space, running an international advisory blockchain platform with more than 100 advisors before starting Whrrl.KEY TAKEAWAYSHis journey from becoming a Chartered Accountant to starting his own fintech startupsBlockchain & financial inclusion: how digital lending is reaching the farm gateBuilding a solid culture in early-stage startupsHow blockchain will transform recruitmentFuture of DeFi and its potentialHow to prepare the market to be receptive to the world of blockchain and DeFiEPISODE HIGHLIGHTS:The Journey of Blockchain, Commodity Finance and Farm Gate Blockchain technology is challenging to use at the consumer level; its UX UI still needs to evolve; secondly, it has significant usability issues. Hence only the back-end was developed using blockchain. Farmers only need to go to the warehouse and get the loan without going to the bank. It's a paperless, person-less system where farmers' interaction with technology is limited to “pressing a button”, “Apply for a loan”.How Do You Set Up the Building Blocks While Starting up Something New?Ashish says that since the margin of error on hiring is very low in startups, the right building blocks are vital.Focus on hard skills during initial hiring; the person should perform from day one. This changes after things have settled and processes are in place. Two aspects are essential. Are we able to make an impact? Is our work making an impact? If you are coding, are they coming from the perspective that farmers can use it?Effect of Decentralized Finances (DeFi) On Centralized BankingDeFi is the fintech equivalent of the crypto market. The competition of DeFI is definitely with traditional banking. For example, if you own digital assets, you can go on any DeFi platform and take a loan. You don't need to go to a bank to take a loan. Most central banks don't have a good comment on cryptocurrency because they are concerned with the supply of money that decides growth and inflation. Bitcoins distort everything from their control. How to Create a Market for a Blockchain Solution?A blockchain requires an ecosystem. For example, in commodity finance, we need both farmers and warehouses to come on board. It is similar for supply chain solutions that work on traceability and other factors. Every component of the supply chain must be on the blockchain itself. Unless that happens, we will defeat the purpose of the blockchain.Follow Ashish on LinkedInProduced by: Priya BhattPodcast host: Aditya Sreekumar

Should we support EVM?– NAH. If you're that good then learn rust.Preventing Shit Projects– Gotta just use common sense– Lots of community review– These guys who came out of capture the flag winners, they just destroy everyone's code– Free audits on Solana! These guys check your code lolSolana Timeline– How to balance timeliness with quality?– “Shit, that's a hard question”– Our goal is through these hackathons, find coders that will code, no sleep, ship products, XYZ and just unblock their potentialHow's a Founder Raise Structured?– Need the lawyer to say anything– Cobie: “per year of lockup there is some percentage discount from the market e.g. if you lock up tokens for 4 years then you get like a 20% discount or whatever”– Your tokens are the main thing you have in your war chestIs having a central planner, even if it's a DAO, counterintuitive for crypto?– When you delegate your stake to the node you don't change custody– but the node has full control over it– With ETH, you kinda relinquish custody to LIDO– On Solana you don't have to relinquish custodySolana Community– SBF obviously huge– Bahamas test – if you went to the Bahamas, how well would the project do on its own?– Read “how to start a startup” but like how useful is that lol– I've learned you gotta ship quickly, and only focus on fires when you're steering the ship– Optimize for shipping– Very important that the way the chain works is as optimized as possible (speed, security, decentralization)– It's really hard to build tho lol– first time we booted it up it ran for like 20 min then crashed– Then next time ran for like an hour, then a week, then we were like holy shit it works hahaWhat's Broken rn– Rn we're just working on optimizations mostly– Just blood sweat and tears to make it better the core structure is good*Solana guys sent Ledger a beanbag without any fluff inside thought it was a body bag LOL*SOL hackathon– $1M of prizes and seed funding– Last one, 11 teams got funded with over $1M each tho… so the money isn't even to attract people lol– Idea is to attract developers and forces everyone to come together at the same time, listen to the same things, form teams, and grow the overall community– There's also pride, if you win you had to go through the gauntlet with everyone elseNew Crypto Categories– In 2017 everyone was publishing a white paper– None of it worked lol– Now people are actually able to ship this stuff and it works– The idea of a fully decentralized Discord that feels like web 2 is where a lot of the devs are working nowWill an Algorithmic Stablecoin Ever Work?– No…lol– Cool think about Bitcoin was getting high grade cryptography into consumer hands– If that's the most powerful peace of this, people will find a censorship resistant way to coordinate these things“What do you do?” Answer– I just say a bunch of technical words and their eyes glaze over– I tell people I work in blockchain and it will take over– When first looking for seed money, banks wouldn't give a bank account when using the word blockchain– Cobie: “I just tell people I have a trust fund” lmao– Ledge: “I tell people I work in web stuff”– Ledge: “The only thing worse than saying you work in crypto is saying you're a podcaster”– Cobie: “Only thing worse than that is saying you're a Twitch streamer” hahhahaThoughts on Bitcoin– Bitcoin good– Self-sovereign decentralized money that's a store of value could be a huge force of good in the worldOther L1s– Avalanche, Cardano, NEAR, etc– It's all good competition– It's like whatever the Lakers thing of the Warriors… in the heat they're your enemy but hanging out later they're nice guys lolFUD a Project– Safemoon– Dfinity– ETH– CardanoDogcoins– Dogcoins are winning because money is abundant, attention is scarce and memes have value for that reasonFree Alpha– Raj: “new normal. You wake up, Bitcoin is legal tender, just head down and stay on course”– Anatoly: “Don't drink to much or eat too much, work out, don't have too much caffeine. Just use some moderation”Music by GiovanniPickle

Question it. Challenge it. Change it. Advice from a multi-champion sporting superstar.“It is a massive lie that we've been told forever that women are not as good and that we can't do things…...My purpose isn't just to be the best athlete that I can be. It's to use sport, one of the most powerful things on the planet, for bringing about positive change.”  Stacey Copeland, Boxer. In this episode Anni talks to Stacey Copeland, former professional athlete, public speaker, presenter, campaigner and the first ever British woman to win the Commonwealth title.Stacey began her career as a professional sportswoman at the tender age of 16 when she was picked to play for the England Woman's Football Team. From there she went on to represent England both on the field and in the ring as a professional boxer and eventually became a Commonwealth Champion.Listen to this remarkable episode where Stacey shares a life in sport, including her first experience of gender bias and inequality, and how she overcame adversity to carve a successful career as a female athlete. She also talks about being a role model for social justice and gender empowerment, including how she fought for and put pressure on the Commonwealth Boxing Council to create a Women's Commonwealth Title Belt, something that was regrettably only offered to male champions. Stacey talks passionately  about the importance of realising your potential and supporting and helping young people to “have the fullest life they can” in sport and in society. She goes on to provide practical advice we can all take to remove gender stereotypes and barriers to success.Hear Stacey's unique perspective on:The limiting impact of stereotypes and stigma on human potentialThe importance of language and how phrases sometimes unknowingly hold a lot of bias -and how we can change that to create more positive, inclusive dialogueHow sport can be used as a powerful channel for positive change Why considering the bigger picture is key to realising your purpose and potentialHow to be a courageous and compassionate leader The power of positive reinforcement and “filling up your petrol tank” This special Leaders in Conversation episode comes as Stacey recently made the difficult decision to retire from the world of competitive sport. Announcing her intention to step out of the ring, she penned a highly touching and celebratory tribute to her career, titled My Letter to Sport:  The beginning was exciting, and the ending was sad, but it's everything in between that made it all worth living.  Read the full letter here. You can discover more about Stacey on her website, including her sporting achievements, current speaking and media engagements and to read her blog. Relationships, jobs, social structures, anything built on shaky ground is destined to tumble down. It's happening to bring you back home to who you truly are so you can live a life in alignment with who you truly are. When you're in the thick of it, it can feel like a personal attack from the Universe. Have faith because the difficult times will be your defining moments. You will be reborn in the fire. You are being called to surrender. To stop trying to hold it all together. To loosen your grip. To let the crumbling occur. It may be difficult at first but in the end, the sooner you let go, the sooner rebirthing will occur. What are you trying to hold together? What are you doing your best to avoid? How are you trying to pretend everything is okay? You have what it takes to allow what is falling away to tumble and fall.Once the tower has crumbled you will be able to rebuild your home on solid ground with mighty foundations and a view that is so magnificent that it will take your breath away each new morn. Kali the goddess of destruction and the Black Madonna are with you now. Lay it all on their altar. They can hold it all.Leap: Life bends for the courageous. The Universe wants to support you, but first you need to leap. To throw your life up in the air. Perhaps you know what you are being called to leap toward or away from, but are scared to make the move. Or maybe perhaps you are waiting for a big fat sign or instruction manual, or permission to do so first. If this is you, then this card is your sign and permission slip to take a deep breath and leap into the unknown. It's scary to let go of all that we know in hope for something new. And it's normal to feel anxious at the thought of letting go of what we know for sure. But this is the unavoidable process of rising. And right now this is how you are being called to live.Birthing a new age: Often our path is exactly the one that we don't feel prepared to walk. Walk it anyway. Often what is rising feels far bigger than we could possibly hold. Be a container for it anyway. Often our creations seem to have wild uncontrollable consciousness of their own. Birth them anyway. Often what is ours to do is the very thing that most intimidates us. Be courageous and do it anyway. We are birthing a new age. It is time to give permission and space for what is beckoning within to be born. The Wisdom of Avalon Oracle Deck:Pulls: Protection + The MysteryThis show is produced by Soulfire Productions
