In this episode, Mary Greensmith sits down with natural medicine expert and homeopath Josie Semmes. If you or someone you love struggles with chronic fatigue, rapid heart rate, or dizziness upon standing, this is an episode you will not want to miss. Josie shares her incredible journey toward better health and explains how homeopathy offers real hope for those living with POTS. What Exactly is POTS? POTS stands for Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. It happens when your body's signals misfire as you go from lying down to standing up. Instead of your blood vessels constricting normally, your heart rate spikes dramatically. This can cause severe dizziness, extreme fatigue, brain fog, and sometimes fainting. Josie explains that POTS is not a one-size-fits-all condition, and many individuals feel a huge sense of relief when they finally get to share their full symptom picture with a holistic practitioner. The POTS Trifecta During the episode, Josie discusses a fascinating pattern she frequently sees in her clinic known as the "Trifecta." Many people dealing with POTS also experience hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (a connective tissue condition) and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). Because homeopathy addresses the whole person, all of these connected conditions can be supported at the exact same time. Real Progress and Success Stories Josie shares two incredible success stories: The Post-Vaccine Case: A healthcare worker developed severe POTS symptoms after her second COVID vaccine, accompanied by a swollen, numb tongue. By focusing on that unique acute symptom, Josie found a remedy that dropped the client's POTS symptom score from a 50 down to a 2 out of 120! The Teenager with the Trifecta: A teen who developed POTS after having mono was highly reactive to food dyes and chemicals. After taking a well-matched homeopathic remedy (Belladonna), her chronic fatigue lifted, she could eat normally without reacting, and she regained the energy to simply be a teenager again. Nutrition and Conventional Medicine Josie emphasizes that homeopathy can be safely used right alongside your conventional prescriptions. She also highlights the absolute importance of nutrition—sometimes, just ensuring you have enough protein can dramatically shift your fatigue levels, giving your body the vital energy it needs to bounce back. Why does historic abundance breed widespread cultural anger? Nick Gillespie, editor-at-large of Reason Magazine and host of the Reason podcast, joins host Zachary Karabell to unpack the great conundrum of the 21st century: why humans have more security and financial means than ever before, yet feel increasingly dissatisfied. In a world deeply divided along absolute binary lines, Gillespie explains how a philosophy of libertarianism provides a refreshing, pre-partisan alternative to standard political gridlock. Moving past abstract data, Gillespie shares his own personal history as the son of a high school dropout from a working-class white ghetto in Hell's Kitchen. He contrasts his own path of white-knuckling student debt payments with the unique anxieties facing modern generations. And they ask the question, what does the world look like post Trump season two? Learn how to tackle $25,000 in credit card debt and which payoff strategy could work best for your situation. How do you get out of $25,000 in credit card debt when minimum payments aren't making a dent? In this episode, hosts Sean Pyles, CFP®, and Elizabeth Ayoola sit down with listener Jessica, a Bay Area mom carrying three maxed-out credit cards with interest rates ranging from 11% to 24%. They walk through her real budget, including nearly $2,000 in rent, close to $1,200 in monthly transportation costs, and significant childcare expenses, to understand why her spending outpaces her income. They also explore what options could realistically help her make progress, from nonprofit credit counseling and debt management plans to whether a free bankruptcy consultation might be worth her time before committing to any path. After shoulder surgery, I've been working with my physiotherapist on rebuilding my range of motion, strength, and confidence. But during one of our conversations, he said something that hit way deeper than just physical rehab. He talked about the importance of building confidence in the range of motion I already have before trying to force more. In other words, my nervous system needs to learn that I'm safe, capable, and in control where I already am before it will trust me to move further. And honestly, I think that applies to life too. A lot of us are constantly chasing more. More success, more money, more discipline, more confidence, more growth, more progress. We want to expand our “range of motion” in life, but we haven't mastered the range we already have. We want the next level before we've built trust with the current one. In this solo episode of the Risen Fallen Podcast, I talk about why real progress often starts with slowing down, mastering the basics, and proving to yourself that you can be consistent with what is already in your hands. Whether it's fitness, business, relationships, mental health, faith, or personal growth, confidence is built through repetition, small wins, and learning to trust yourself again. This episode is about rebuilding your foundation, expanding your capacity, and understanding that progress should stretch you — not snap you. If you've been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, impatient, or like you're constantly trying to force yourself into the next version of your life, this one is for you. In this deeply personal episode, I share why it's been a little while since the last show, including the passing of one of my closest lifelong friends, Ken Stock. I talk about friendship, grief, and how loss changes perspective. I also give an honest update on Ziggy's lymphoma treatment, the emotional toll it's taking, and how life has a way of piling challenges on all at once. Then I dive into my progress with the Business Enterprise Program—what the assessments involve, why I'm excited about vending opportunities, and what the future could look like as I pursue entrepreneurship as a blind business owner. Top Takeaways Grief doesn't follow a schedule, and neither does healing. Entrepreneurship often begins during uncertain seasons. Blind professionals can build and lead successful businesses. Resilience is built one challenge at a time. Sometimes progress happens while life feels messy. Why do you feel busy all day… but still not making real progress? In this solo episode of the Profitable Christian Business Podcast, Doug Greathouse breaks down the real reason most entrepreneurs and professionals struggle with execution—and how to fix it. Many people believe they need more discipline or motivation. But the truth is, the problem isn't consistency—it's consistency in the wrong things. Doug shares a simple framework to move from reactive busywork to structured execution that drives real results. In this episode, you'll learn: • The difference between being busy and making progress • Why "consistency" alone isn't enough • The three levels that block execution: no clarity, no needle movers, no system • How to define a clear 90-day goal • What needle movers are and why they matter • How to build a system that creates daily momentum • The shift from motivation to structured execution If you're a Christian entrepreneur, business owner, or leader who wants to stop drifting and start building real momentum, this episode gives you a practical path forward.

In this lively April 1 episode of POD256, we cut through the April Fools noise to share real updates from the open-source Bitcoin mining front. We preview the Bitcoin 2026 conference in Las Vegas, celebrate renewed grants for the 256 Foundation's four core projects (Mujina firmware, Libre Board, Ember One hashboard, and Hydra Pool), and discuss our all-Bitcoin treasury experiment paying developer grants in sats based on cost basis. We dive deep on unlocking Bitmain control boards, porting Mujina to Amlogic-based Antminers, model guardrails, and running AI-assisted development workflows. We also highlight the power and resilience of open source—from LLM client code leaks to community forks like Ashigaru/Whirlpool—and give shoutouts to our Hydra Pool hashers and the slick new Bitaxe Touch. For show-and-tell, Skot unveils the Bitaxe Bonanza: an open-source miner built around Intel BMZ2 chips donated to the 256 Foundation, targeting ~1.2 TH/s with a robust heatsink, 12V fan, and a clever sidecar for Intel's 9-bit serial protocol. We discuss why accessible, non-Bitmain chips matter for home miners and heat-reuse projects, how UTXOracle can provide price data without third-party APIs, and why open tools and community collaboration are accelerating the dismantling of the proprietary mining empire. Fabian Alefeld hosts Duann Scott on the Editor Snack podcast to discuss how AI is evolving in additive manufacturing, moving from “AI-washing” and impractical text-to-mesh hype toward more capable tools using language models, visual language models, surrogate models, and emerging foundational models. Scott describes testing tools by trying to make them fail and highlights a recent success with the Raven plugin for Rhino/Grasshopper, which generated a parametric VESA mount and tripod adapter from minimal prompts, then iteratively added fillets and an isogrid structure and produced a printable part within hours. They discuss constraints like missing engineering training data and design intent, the promise of AI for toolpath and process optimization (including transfer of parameter knowledge across materials), and the role of the 3MF format in capturing toolpath and metadata to enable richer, searchable datasets. Scott previews CDFAM events in Barcelona, DC, and Tokyo and emphasizes that progress requires significant data work and investment. 00:00 Welcome and Guest Intro 02:18 AI Hype to Real Progress 04:13 Testing AI Design Tools 04:46 Data Gaps and Design Intent 07:15 Two Paths for AI Design 10:15 Raven Grasshopper Breakthrough 13:17 Pushing Parametric Complexity 20:28 Limits of Black Box Optimization 22:40 Toolpath and Material Transfer 26:18 Alloy Discovery and Qualification 28:05 3MF Role Teaser 28:18 3MF Format Overview 29:17 Smarter Toolpath Extensions 32:31 Metadata for AI Training 35:43 Data Ownership and Synthetic Data 39:59 AI Impact on Additive 44:10 Workforce and Reshoring 47:22 What Is CDFAM 49:49 CDFAM Audience and Format 51:43 DC Event and Government 54:05 Wrap Up and Thanks
Famida Choudhary is joined by Cat Chowdhary for a thought-provoking discussion on what real progress in lessons truly means. Moving beyond task completion and content coverage, the conversation explores progress as a shift in thinking — from “then” to “now.” Drawing on research, the gradual release model, adaptive teaching, and evidence-informed feedback practices, the show examines how clarity, questioning, and student response drive meaningful learning. A reflective and practical discussion for teachers and leaders committed to ensuring progress is measured by understanding — not just performance.
Send Steve a Text MessageStuck playing the same licks but not getting better? This conversation maps a clear path from autopilot to intentional practice so your limited time turns into visible progress and real confidence on the fretboard. We unpack how to set precise goals, track your growth, and build pillars of skill that stack into the kind of player you actually want to be.We start by separating maintaining from improving, then show how to convert vague aims like “learn scales” into exact targets such as clean alternate picking through pentatonic position one at a set tempo. From chord transitions that ring true to timing that locks with a click, we focus on micro goals you can measure. You'll hear practical tactics: slow practice to expose flaws, isolation drills to fix them, and short recording check-ins to keep you honest. We also talk daily structure—why warm-ups are maintenance, not growth—and how to theme practice days around technique, creativity, theory, or fretboard visualization.Overwhelm is a real blocker, so we tackle information overload and the myth that you must learn everything at once. If your next milestone is expressive blues, you don't need sweeps tomorrow; you need bend intonation, vibrato, and note targeting over I–IV–V. We walk through using the CAGED system to see the neck, connecting shapes with purpose, and planning backward from your 90‑day goal. Then we fit it all to your time budget with a simple loop: define, drill, apply, reflect. When you focus on less, you progress more—and motivation follows. If you're ready to turn practice into proof, hit play and bring a notebook. Pastor Femi Paul brought a strong declaration of assurance from Psalm 32:3–8, emphasising that God is both our hiding place and our guide. In every storm of life, financial, career, medical, relational, or otherwise, the Lord preserves, protects, and surrounds us with songs of victory. More profoundly, God promises not merely to observe our efforts or struggles, but to watch our progress. This reveals divine supervision over advancement, not stagnation. Progress for the believer is intentional and guaranteed by Jehovah. The message reinforced that real progress is not accidental; it is guided along the best pathway ordained by God. PFP led us into thanksgiving, acknowledging God's visible hand in our lives and declaring that great and amazing opportunities for progress are guaranteed. The service concluded with prayers from Jude 1:20, charging us to build ourselves up in faith as we advance into tangible, measurable, and sustained progress. Confession: My progress is guaranteed by the Lord. I walk in real and great advancement.

In this episode of The Admittedly Podcast, Thomas Caleel sits down with Kathy Yellen, Senior Program Consultant at Advantage Testing, to pull back the curtain on what most families misunderstand about tutoring and test prep. With 16 years at Advantage Testing and a background spanning early childhood education, classroom teaching, and performance, Kathy explains what her role actually looks like: listening to families, building a roadmap, and "matchmaking" students with the right tutors so the relationship works, not just the schedule. Together, Thomas and Kathy unpack the real concerns parents bring to the table when they're navigating SAT/ACT prep or academic tutoring for the first time, including confusion, misinformation, and the fear that "we're behind." Key Topics: What Advantage Testing "program consulting" actually is, and why the student-tutor match matters as much as expertise How families should approach test prep and academic tutoring when they don't know where to start Why there is no "only way" to prep and how to tune out conflicting opinions and social media noise What tutoring is (and is not): scaffolding, mentorship, and confidence-building, not replacement or shortcutting When to consider tutoring, including support, remediation, and enrichment, and why timing depends on the student Why practice test scores often fluctuate and how to evaluate progress using trendlines, not single data points How to handle mid-process stress and what to do if the match isn't working (and why course correction should happen early) Guest: Kathy Yellen: Senior Program Consultant at Advantage Testing with 16 years of experience supporting families through academic tutoring and test preparation. January is the perfect time to take stock, and in this episode we share the most common lessons we've learned from six years of coaching Python developers. Drawing on hundreds of real-world conversations, we break down seven practical fixes that consistently help developers move forward - from stopping endless consumption and actually building, to escaping abandoned GitHub repos, getting proper code reviews, and shifting from scripts to real systems with solid tooling, testing, and version control. The conversation also dives into mindset: overcoming imposter syndrome, using AI without becoming dependent on it, and why going it alone often makes your journey harder than it needs to be. Send us a textJanuary is the time when motivation drops and many people start thinking they already failed their New Year's goals. In this solo episode, I talk about why most January goals don't stick and why it usually has nothing to do with discipline or willpower.I share my own experience of moving from December's noise into January's quiet, and why that shift often makes people feel stuck, tired, or frustrated. Most goals fail because they're simply too big, too vague, and too strict to work in real life.I also use alcohol as a real example, because it shows this pattern better than almost anything else. I explain how alcohol affects sleep and recovery, why all-or-nothing thinking makes progress harder, and why extreme rules often backfire.Instead of asking “Should I quit alcohol?”, I suggest asking better questions:Why do I drink? What role does it play in my life right now? And what would a smaller, more realistic change look like? This episode is not about Dry January or being perfect. It's about lowering pressure, shrinking your goals, and focusing on consistency instead of intensity. If January feels harder than you expected, this episode will help you reset your goals and keep going without burning out.
A Guide to greater growth.
Busy isn't the same as better. We sat down with product strategist, coach and consultant, and now a pubslihed author Tim Herbig to unpack a simple truth: real progress with impact that matters happens when strategy, metrics, and discovery align. If you lead change across a product, a platform team, culture or your own habits - you'll leave with a clearer way to choose what to focus on, what to measure, and what to learn.Say no with confidence. Retire progress theater. And build momentum you can be proud of.Key Insights:Context beats templates every time - "better practices" for your situation matter more than copying what worked for someone elseStrategy's real job is helping people say yes and no fastThe "why" question is ruthlessly effective - if you can't explain why you're doing something, you're probably just checking boxesAI helps you reach hard problems faster but only if you're ready to actually solve them instead of automating busyworkHow to spot progress theater before it drains your energy and budget ... also how to choose a better strategy for your beach body in 2026 and a lot more!___________TIM'S BIOTim Herbig is a product management coach, consultant, and author who helps teams make evidence-informed decisions by connecting strategy, OKRs, and discovery. In today's episode, I sit down with entrepreneur Adalbert De La Cruz, the founder of Clarity, to talk about the pressure, indecision, and mental clutter so many of us battle while trying to get things done. We get into how voice-first tools can cut through overwhelm, help us organize our thoughts, and turn scattered ideas into a doable plan. Adalbert shares how his own experience shaped Clarity's focus on emotional grounding, creativity, and keeping people moving forward without rigid systems. SummaryIn this episode, Chase and Chris talk all about that square thing in your bathroom — the scale! They explain why the number you see every day doesn't actually tell you much about your progress. They talk about how your weight can go up or down for a lot of reasons that have nothing to do with fat loss. More importantly, they break down the four types of progress that really matter: outcome, behavior, internal, and environmental. They also share real stories from clients, funny moments, and personal experiences to help you stop obsessing over the scale. You'll leave this episode with a better mindset, more confidence, and real tools to track your wins in a healthier way.Chapters(00:00) The Square Thing in Your Bathroom(01:08) The Scale Can't Tell the Whole Story(02:23) Why So Many Give Up Too Soon(04:11) Diet Culture and Our Obsession with Weight(05:50) Why Outcome Progress Isn't Everything(06:31) The Importance of Knowing Your "Why"(07:54) What Does That Number Really Mean?(10:11) Behavioral Progress and Building Consistency(12:57) Why We Need to Focus on Lifestyle Habits(14:02) Focus on What You Can Control(15:25) Internal Progress: Wins the Scale Can't Measure(17:13) Getting to the Root of Emotional Eating(19:31) Handling Stress Eating and Creating Awareness(21:42) Environmental Progress and Setting Yourself Up(24:19) Why Motivation Fades Without Supportive Environments(26:45) Real-Life Triggers and Cleaning Up Your Space(28:31) Why the Scale Is a Dopamine Hit(30:57) Real Client Story: Four Weeks of Zero Movement(32:48) Zooming Out and Looking at Trends(34:31) The 60-Day No Scale Challenge(36:46) If the Scale Never Changed Again, Then What?(39:20) The Number on the Scale Isn't Your Value(41:24) What to Do If the Scale Didn't ExistSUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS to be answered on the show: https://forms.gle/B6bpTBDYnDcbUkeD7How to Connect with Us:Chase's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/changing_chase/Chris' Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/conquer_fitness2021/Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/665770984678334/Interested in 1:1 Coaching: https://conquerfitnessandnutrition.com/1on1-coachingJoin The Fit Fam Collective: https://conquerfitnessandnutrition.com/fit-fam-collective
About the Episode On this episode, I speak to Tim Herbig, long-time product management coach, speaker, and author of the new book "Real Progress". Tim has worked with companies like StepStone, Chrono24, Deutsche Telekom and Specsavers, and has spent years helping product managers stop hiding behind frameworks and start making a meaningful impact. His work focuses on helping teams connect product strategy, OKRs and discovery without falling into the trap of rigid process correctness. Episode highlights: Alibi Progress vs Real Progress - how teams hide behind "the right way" of doing things, obsessing over methods and templates instead of asking whether any of it actually works The Progress Wheel - Tim's diagnostic loop that ties strategy, OKRs and discovery together so teams can see where they're actually stuck and what to do next The three attributes of good product strategy: Decisiveness, Layering and Executability How to handle OKRs when leadership gives you metrics you can't influence using zones of control and contribution How to sell discovery to sceptical stakeholders - by framing it as "protecting the company's investment", not a fluffy UX ritual Reverse-mapping discovery when you're handed a solution - even if you have to build it, work backwards to define the outcome Why frameworks should be starting points, not destinations - and why Tim would be disappointed if anyone adopted his wheel dogmatically ... And much more. In our latest Leeds, That! podcast episode we dive into the Manchester City 3-2 Leeds thriller at the Etihad (29 Nov 2025). The Whites produced a spirited comeback from 2-0 down – goals by Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha – only for Phil Foden to sweep home a late winner in stoppage time. Was it a harsh defeat or a sign of real progress? We break down the drama and full context. We analyse Daniel Farke's tactical switch to a 3-5-2 at half-time that sparked the Leeds fightback. Calvert-Lewin's impact off the bench (including winning the penalty for Nmecha's equaliser) and City's response – including Foden's early strike – are all on the table. This is your full Premier League reaction: from Leeds' resilience to how they matched up against Guardiola's superstars. With fan passion and humour, we debate whether the performance gives us belief – or just more heartbreak.

Have you ever mapped out a perfect plan for change only to watch it fall apart within days? That cycle is not a discipline problem. It is a sign that the foundation beneath your habit change is missing the elements that make new patterns truly sustainable. Most people focus on the plan itself, not the internal and practical skills that allow a plan to hold up in real life. In this episode, I break down the most common mistakes I see when people try to change their habits and why those approaches backfire. You will lalso learn the four keys that create real progress. When you focus on these foundations, you build habits that work in the midst of unpredictability rather than collapsing under it. We as humans tend to look at most everything with a linear perspective. Like every day and our lives are a straight trajectory that is either getting better or worse, depending on the day. We look at our desires as goals and work towards them sequentially, expecting to get closer every day on this so-called, straight line. My guest in this episode is a neuroscientist who believes this is an errant perspective and what our lives and pursuits really align with is experiments. Instead of sequential progress we are often starting over, again and again, till we get it right. I recall the TV series "Lessons in Chemistry," where the main character, Elizabeth Zott, perfected her lasagna recipe after making it 78 times. This wasn't a linear goal, but an exercise in starting over 78 times, with more wisdom each time. For me this really helps with trying this and then trying that to see what works instead of pushing for one method and feeling like a failure if it doesn't work. Dr. Anne-Laure Le Cunff, PhD, is a neuroscientist, entrepreneur, and writer whose work has been in peer-reviewed journals and WIRED, Forbes, Fortune, and Entrepreneur. Her new book is called, Tiny Experiments: How to Live Freely in a Goal-Obsessed World and it's a guide to adopting and living a more experimental life, turning uncertainty into curiosity, and carving a path of self-discovery.
