Send us a textJanuary is the time when motivation drops and many people start thinking they already failed their New Year's goals. In this solo episode, I talk about why most January goals don't stick and why it usually has nothing to do with discipline or willpower.I share my own experience of moving from December's noise into January's quiet, and why that shift often makes people feel stuck, tired, or frustrated. Most goals fail because they're simply too big, too vague, and too strict to work in real life.I also use alcohol as a real example, because it shows this pattern better than almost anything else. I explain how alcohol affects sleep and recovery, why all-or-nothing thinking makes progress harder, and why extreme rules often backfire.Instead of asking “Should I quit alcohol?”, I suggest asking better questions:Why do I drink? What role does it play in my life right now? And what would a smaller, more realistic change look like? This episode is not about Dry January or being perfect. It's about lowering pressure, shrinking your goals, and focusing on consistency instead of intensity. If January feels harder than you expected, this episode will help you reset your goals and keep going without burning out.
A Guide to greater growth.
Busy isn't the same as better. We sat down with product strategist, coach and consultant, and now a pubslihed author Tim Herbig to unpack a simple truth: real progress with impact that matters happens when strategy, metrics, and discovery align. If you lead change across a product, a platform team, culture or your own habits - you'll leave with a clearer way to choose what to focus on, what to measure, and what to learn.Say no with confidence. Retire progress theater. And build momentum you can be proud of.Key Insights:Context beats templates every time - "better practices" for your situation matter more than copying what worked for someone elseStrategy's real job is helping people say yes and no fastThe "why" question is ruthlessly effective - if you can't explain why you're doing something, you're probably just checking boxesAI helps you reach hard problems faster but only if you're ready to actually solve them instead of automating busyworkHow to spot progress theater before it drains your energy and budget ... also how to choose a better strategy for your beach body in 2026 and a lot more!___________TIM'S BIOTim Herbig is a product management coach, consultant, and author who helps teams make evidence-informed decisions by connecting strategy, OKRs, and discovery. Are the Bianconeri truly turning a corner, or is this just a good stretch before the pressure hits?In this episode we break down: what's changed in Spalletti's Juventus, the key tactical “signals” that prove growth, the matchups that will decide Juventus vs Roma, and the ONE thing Juve must get right to leave with a result. We'll also talk mentality, game management, and what this match means for the table and the bigger project.
In today's episode, I sit down with entrepreneur Adalbert De La Cruz, the founder of Clarity, to talk about the pressure, indecision, and mental clutter so many of us battle while trying to get things done. We get into how voice-first tools can cut through overwhelm, help us organize our thoughts, and turn scattered ideas into a doable plan. Adalbert shares how his own experience shaped Clarity's focus on emotional grounding, creativity, and keeping people moving forward without rigid systems. We also explore the role of timing, risk tolerance, and learning to stop, breathe, and reset when fear pushes us off course.

Lower taxes will begin to impact voters this upcoming tax season, but Republicans have to do more to make sure Trump's policies are recognized. Party unity and targeting healthcare are key 2026 priorities, plus holding big tech accountable, continued regulatory reform, and cleaning up DC.
SummaryIn this episode, Chase and Chris talk all about that square thing in your bathroom — the scale! They explain why the number you see every day doesn't actually tell you much about your progress. They talk about how your weight can go up or down for a lot of reasons that have nothing to do with fat loss. More importantly, they break down the four types of progress that really matter: outcome, behavior, internal, and environmental. They also share real stories from clients, funny moments, and personal experiences to help you stop obsessing over the scale. About the Episode On this episode, I speak to Tim Herbig, long-time product management coach, speaker, and author of the new book "Real Progress". Tim has worked with companies like StepStone, Chrono24, Deutsche Telekom and Specsavers, and has spent years helping product managers stop hiding behind frameworks and start making a meaningful impact. His work focuses on helping teams connect product strategy, OKRs and discovery without falling into the trap of rigid process correctness. Episode highlights: Alibi Progress vs Real Progress - how teams hide behind "the right way" of doing things, obsessing over methods and templates instead of asking whether any of it actually works The Progress Wheel - Tim's diagnostic loop that ties strategy, OKRs and discovery together so teams can see where they're actually stuck and what to do next The three attributes of good product strategy: Decisiveness, Layering and Executability How to handle OKRs when leadership gives you metrics you can't influence using zones of control and contribution How to sell discovery to sceptical stakeholders - by framing it as "protecting the company's investment", not a fluffy UX ritual Reverse-mapping discovery when you're handed a solution - even if you have to build it, work backwards to define the outcome Why frameworks should be starting points, not destinations - and why Tim would be disappointed if anyone adopted his wheel dogmatically ... And much more. In our latest Leeds, That! podcast episode we dive into the Manchester City 3-2 Leeds thriller at the Etihad (29 Nov 2025). The Whites produced a spirited comeback from 2-0 down – goals by Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha – only for Phil Foden to sweep home a late winner in stoppage time. Was it a harsh defeat or a sign of real progress? We break down the drama and full context. We analyse Daniel Farke's tactical switch to a 3-5-2 at half-time that sparked the Leeds fightback. Calvert-Lewin's impact off the bench (including winning the penalty for Nmecha's equaliser) and City's response – including Foden's early strike – are all on the table. This is your full Premier League reaction: from Leeds' resilience to how they matched up against Guardiola's superstars. With fan passion and humour, we debate whether the performance gives us belief – or just more heartbreak.

Have you ever mapped out a perfect plan for change only to watch it fall apart within days? That cycle is not a discipline problem. It is a sign that the foundation beneath your habit change is missing the elements that make new patterns truly sustainable. Most people focus on the plan itself, not the internal and practical skills that allow a plan to hold up in real life. In this episode, I break down the most common mistakes I see when people try to change their habits and why those approaches backfire. You will lalso learn the four keys that create real progress. When you focus on these foundations, you build habits that work in the midst of unpredictability rather than collapsing under it. We're excited to feature another visionary builder in product management: Tim Herbig, Product Coach and author of the newly released book “Real Progress: How to Connect the Dots of Product Strategy, OKRs and Discovery”.In this episode, Tim joins Matt and Moshe to share how his journey, from being handed a Product Owner role out of the blue, to leading teams and coaching organizations, shaped his mission to help product managers connect strategy, OKRs, and discovery into a framework for real impact.Tim draws on his years of experience across diverse industries and organizations to address a challenge he's seen again and again: teams invite him to solve one issue but quickly discover there are deeper, often interlinked problems between strategic planning, measuring progress, and enabling effective discovery. That's the gap he set out to fill with his book, a hands-on resource designed specifically for PMs and teams looking to go beyond process and frameworks, and start making progress that matters.Join Matt and Moshe as they explore with Tim:The story behind writing “Real Progress” and connecting the dots between strategy, OKRs, and discoveryWhy so many teams appear busy but are stuck making “alibi progress” instead of real impactThe Progress Wheel: a visual tool for mapping how strategic, measurable change drives product successHow to think critically about frameworks, challenging readers to adapt tools for their own context, rather than following them blindlyThe book's practical structure: workbook-like prompts and non-linear sections for self-assessment and targeted improvementKey building blocks of strategy and how they relate to various templates and organizational maturityLinking company strategy to product strategy, and the strategic thinking required for product leadersUsing OKRs to measure if your strategy is working, and spotting when OKRs reveal deeper strategic problemsRole of discovery in reducing strategic risk and building conviction, including how Tim's Evidence Strength Matrix helps teams evaluate signalsFirst steps for teams looking to connect their frameworks and drive improvementAnd much more!Thinking about making progress in your product work? There's a moment in this conversation with 4x Olympic Champion Michael Johnson that stopped me in my tracks. He said, “Success doesn't care what you believe you deserve.”That line sums up what this episode is really about, the difference between wishing for results and doing the work required to earn them.Michael didn't become one of the most dominant athletes in history by chasing comfort. He became great by facing the hard truth. By asking himself the questions most of us avoid. And then doing something about it.In this episode, I unpack the habits Michael used throughout his life, from championship seasons to career-ending injuries to the day he was told he might never walk properly again. It's about discipline, honesty, and doing what it takes, not what feels easy.We explore:Why the best avoid shortcutsThe mindset Michael used to break recordsHow to handle setbacks without denialThe power of asking better questionsWhy doing the uncomfortable thing often leads to growthThis episode is a reminder that high performance doesn't come from believing you're ready. It comes from acting like it, even when no one's watching. Here is more information on the studies referenced: Self-Regulation and Performance in Elite Athletes (Joanne Hudson & Dave Day 2016, Journal of Sport & Exercise Psychology)What Self-Awareness Really Is (and How to Cultivate It), (Dr. Tasha Eurich, Harvard Business Review)Emotion Regulation Choice (Gal Sheppes et al. 2012)Mindset: The New Psychology of Success (Carol Dweck)Self-Control and Grit (Angela Duckworth et al. We as humans tend to look at most everything with a linear perspective. Like every day and our lives are a straight trajectory that is either getting better or worse, depending on the day. We look at our desires as goals and work towards them sequentially, expecting to get closer every day on this so-called, straight line. My guest in this episode is a neuroscientist who believes this is an errant perspective and what our lives and pursuits really align with is experiments. Instead of sequential progress we are often starting over, again and again, till we get it right. I recall the TV series "Lessons in Chemistry," where the main character, Elizabeth Zott, perfected her lasagna recipe after making it 78 times. This wasn't a linear goal, but an exercise in starting over 78 times, with more wisdom each time. For me this really helps with trying this and then trying that to see what works instead of pushing for one method and feeling like a failure if it doesn't work. Dr. Anne-Laure Le Cunff, PhD, is a neuroscientist, entrepreneur, and writer whose work has been in peer-reviewed journals and WIRED, Forbes, Fortune, and Entrepreneur. Her new book is called, Tiny Experiments: How to Live Freely in a Goal-Obsessed World and it's a guide to adopting and living a more experimental life, turning uncertainty into curiosity, and carving a path of self-discovery. Send me a messageIs climate doomism stopping us from acting? In this episode, I speak with climate economist Michael Jakob, author of The Case Against Climate Doom, about why despair is not just unhelpful, it's inaccurate. We explore the real economic tipping points that are accelerating decarbonisation: plummeting costs for solar, wind, storage, and EVs. Michael argues that the shift to clean tech isn't about idealism, it's about basic economics. When renewables are cheaper and more reliable, adoption becomes inevitable. We dig into the role of carbon pricing, the importance of framing climate action around opportunity, not sacrific, and the political realities holding back faster policy change. Michael also shares examples from countries like Ethiopia and Vietnam, where rapid transitions are already underway. We talk about the limitations of international climate negotiations, the growing role of culture in shaping climate awareness, and why fear alone doesn't drive actio, agency does.If you're working in business, policy, or sustainability, this conversation offers a critical reframing: the future is still in our hands, and in many places, it's already arriving faster than expected.

Let's be honest: most of you are out here doing WAY too much of what doesn't matter - especially when it comes to fitness. You're consuming alllll the content, chasing new & shiny workouts, and trying to “fix” the weekend by starting over every freaking Monday. You're obsessing over fat burners and the “perfect” macros, but honestly, where the hell is it REALLY getting you?! Here's the deal - more isn't better. Doing “more” will only lead you to burnout, paralysis, and like you're never enough. Better means focusing on what *actually* moves the needle: progressive strength training, walking daily, hitting your protein, managing stress, and creating routines that fit YOUR actual life. I knooow this isn't sexy or flashy, but this is what WORKS.You don't need more noise. You need clarity, simplicity, and you need to get laser-focused on doing the stuff that truly MATTERS on your fitness journey. Figuring this out can be a game-changer for you this summer, AND for the long-term!!In this episode, we cover:Why doing MORE isn't always better + what to focus on insteadThe common trap that keeps many of us “stuck” in overwhelmWhat doesn't actually move the needle on your fitness journeyHabits & routines that DO make a difference on your fitness journeyHow to audit your OWN fitness routine so you can simplify & get resultsLinks/Resources:Join IT GIRL Community Membership Join FIT CLUB, my monthly membership with workouts you can do at home or the gymPRIVATE COACHING is my 1:1 program (choose 3 or 6 month option)Connect with me on Instagram @kristycastillofit and @unfuckyourfitnesspodcast so we can keep this conversation going-be sure to tag me in your posts and stories!Join my FREE Facebook group, Unf*ck Your FitnessClick HERE for my favorite fitness & life things!Send me a text with episode ideas or just to say hi! At the heart of The Prophets' vision are “The 24 Essential Supply Chain Processes.” What are they? Find out, and see the future yourself. Click here Recorded live from the AIAG Supply Chain Conference in downtown Detroit, this episode captures real conversations with the people driving (and dealing with) supply chain change. With a fresh venue, new voices, and an unfiltered look at what's working (and what's not), the ASCP team dives into what's happening across the automotive supply chain, shaping the road ahead. The day starts with fresh eyes—Wayne State student John LaGarde shares what it's like attending his first supply chain conference. He's drawn in by the industry's complexity, but what stands out is his call for continuous learning and work-life balance—things Gen Z now expects, not just hopes for.Fred Coe, Chair of AIAG's EDI Advisory, gives an update on their latest EDI survey. 500 companies responded, and results show a split: some still use fax and email, while others have moved to APIs. The industry isn't aligned, but the interest in standardization is growing.Dr. Bing Xu from Catena-X shares what he heard at the event: companies are looking beyond old supply chain methods and focusing more on using data properly. He notes the interest in AI tools and stresses the need for fast implementation, especially with growing pressure from tariffs and supply chain instability. Then comes Sig Huber from Elm Analytics with a warning: uncertainty is paralyzing the industry. Companies aren't investing, demand is unclear, and policy changes continue. A 5% increase in the cost of goods could double the number of distressed suppliers. Whether demand rises or drops, disruption is coming. That pressure is already hitting the tier-two level. Jennifer Smith, VP of Supply Chain at Royal Technologies, explains how suppliers are stuck—OEMs want cost cuts, suppliers want margin. Her focus? Speeding up processes and getting actual context behind data. Suppliers need the "why" to make the right decisions—and that's still missing in too many places. Finally, Tanya Bolden from AIAG puts the day into perspective. The industry is changing fast. Mandates, electrification, decarbonization, and digital tools are all colliding at once. AIAG's job, she says, is to bring all those pieces to the table—while helping the next generation of professionals see that this isn't your grandfather's supply chain job.Themes discussed in this episode:The unpredictability and chaos of today's global tariff landscapeWhy AI and digital tools are now essential for managing supply chain complexityWhat the next generation of supply chain talent actually wants from employers—and why the industry needs to listenWhy transparency from OEMs matters more than ever to tier-two suppliersHow policy shifts and tariff uncertainty are paralyzing investment and planningThe risk of a bullwhip effect—and why the industry is still unprepared for sudden shifts in demandHow supply chain roles are evolving—and why the next generation needs to see that shiftFeatured guests:Name: John LaGardeTitle: Marketing and Global Supply Chain Student at Wayne State University - Mike Ilitch School of BusinessDiscussed: [03:04] First-time attendee John LaGarde shares what drew him to supply chain, what surprised him at the conference, and what today's students really want from employers.
