For the first time, I'm finally telling my story—a story of how alcohol slowly destroyed my life, leaving me physically and mentally powerless, addicted & suicidal. I used to be a weekend-only drinker, fully focused on my career but one "hair of the dog" turned into drinking all week and, before I knew it, I was trapped in alcoholism. If you feel like you've sunk so low that there's no way out, know that recovery is possible. A life beyond your wildest dreams awaits. A huge thank you to guest host Issy Hawkins, who took charge of my podcast and put me in the hot seat. Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Stewart Pearce, Princess Diana's Voice, Presentation and Life Coach, Author, “DIANA The Voice of Change” About Harvey's guest: Today's special guest, Stewart Pearce, was Diana's voice, presentation and life coach. Today is August 31, 2022, and we are commemorating the 25th anniversary of the tragic passing of Diana, Princess of Wales.  We all know that Diana was an extraordinarily luminous individual, who touched the hearts and souls of billions of people, not only by radiating graciousness and charisma, but because of her unique healing energy.  After her divorce from Prince Charles, Diana embarked on a journey of personal empowerment and spiritual development.  To help fulfil her destiny, she actively sought out teachers, coaches and mentors, one of the most important of whom is today's guest, who literally helped Diana find her authentic voice, so she could shape and project her message of empathy, kindness, compassion and love.   Stewart's wondrous and highly inspirational book, entitled, “Diana: The Voice of Change”, has recently been updated in a brand new commemorative edition to mark the 25th anniversary of Diana's passing.  The book explains how our guest helped Diana evolve from a fragile, bulimic victim, to a dynamic, strong, uplifting woman in control of her life, who became the universally adored “Queen of People's Hearts”.  The book contains vocal, physical and emotional techniques that Diana learned, and that we can all use in our own journeys of empowerment and enlightenment.  Our guest started out as an actor and teacher specializing in voice and theatre studies.   He was the head voice coach at the prestigious Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London.  And then, through a revelation which he calls “The Alchemy of Voice” – which is also the title of his first book - his work took on a spiritual dimension, as he learned to attune the personality of the voice with the breath of the soul.  For many years he served as the Resident Master of Voice at the Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London, and the Head of Voice at the Drama Centre London.  He's been a coach for many prominent individuals in the political and corporate world.  And he's worked with numerous well-known actors including Vanessa Redgrave, Michelle Williams, Hugh Bonneville, Mark Rylance and many others. For more interviews and podcasts go to: https://www.harveybrownstoneinterviews.com/ https://stewartpearce.com/https://dianathevoiceofchange.com/https://www.instagram.com/stewartpearcethevoice/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdVVQHI_ExUFRbDcE0Jix_ghttps://mobile.twitter.com/stewartpearcehttps://www.facebook.com/stewartpearcemasterofvoice #StewartPearce  #dianathevoiceofchange  #harveybrownstoneinterviews

The Movies That Made Me… Episode 3: LOVE Luke Sorba wrote and directed his first movie on Super 8 when he was 18 years old. "The Mirror Within" won in the Novice Category at Streatham and Norwood Amateur Film Club's Annual Awards. He only made one more (apart from some YouTube sketches) but he has since watched 6000 movies made by other people and owns 1600 on DVD. He spent more teenage hours at the National Film Theatre and the Electric Cinema than anywhere else, and is currently on first name terms with staff at Peckhamplex. Over two hundred books on cinema fill his shelves and he has a complete collection of Monthly Film Bulletin magazines (incorporated in Sight and Sound since 1990) going back to 1964. As an actor and writer, as well as a teacher of story telling Luke brings professional experience to his observations but it his status as a super-fan that sets him apart. He is rare among enthusiasts in that there is no period nor genre nor country whose movies he is not curious about. From Intolerance to Inception, The St Valentine's Day Massacre to The Belles of St Trinian's, Do the Right Thing to Dr Dolittle, Zombieland to Nomadland, Superfly to Superman, Tod Browning to Todd Haynes, Federico Fellini to The Fast and Furious, Monika Treut to Monica Bellucci, there is a place for everyone in The Movies That Made Me. Luke Sorba and Andrew Paine previously collaborated on the online improvised comedy show "Unmute". Together they make up Picard Productions.   Episode 3 Features... IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE 1946 (Frank Capra) Post-war America in need of healing finds family man and community leader, Jimmy Stewart on the precipice of self-destruction. Can love pull him back? The movie that most defines Capra-esque. Contrast: A Christmas Carol (1951) MY BEAUTIFUL LAUNDRETTE 1985 (Stephen Frears) Race, Class, Sexuality and Toxic Masculinity all explored with candour and passion decades before “woke” meant anything more than what you did before eating breakfast. Hanif Kureishi's best screenplay, the launch of Daniel Day-Lewis as a movie star. Against a backdrop of heartless Thatcherite Britain. Contrast: Loving (2016) STRICTLY BALLROOM 1992 (Baz Luhrmann) The movie that gave the BBC the title (well, half) of its most popular TV show of the last twenty years. Outsiders from different worlds come together in the Australian auteur's first film. The sequence using Cindy Lauper's True Colours is sublime. Contrast: Romeo + Juliet (1996) LA BELLE E LA BETE 1946 (Jean Cocteau) Poet, playwright, artist, novelist, Cocteau's live action telling of the classic tale ask the eternal question: can true love redeem? Magical. Contrast: Beauty and the Beast (1991) BEFORE SUNRISE 1995 (Richard Linklater) The most romantic film inspired by a railway station since Brief Encounter. Semi-improvised dialogue between Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy as lovers thrown together by chance adds authenticity and intelligence to a film that launched the most unlikely movie franchise. Right person, wrong time, wrong place…. can love survive? Contrast: The Lady Vanishes (1936) CASABLANCA 1942 (Michael Curtiz) When love of justice and romantic love collide, one must be sacrificed? Bogart. Bergman. And a world of talent on and off-camera. Luke's favourite film. Film's most romantic song. Contrast: There is none. It's a non-pareil.

Grab your favorite book Off the Shelf and take an Art Break with us! We're kicking off the premiere of our newest segment, Off the Shelf, with ISC Co-Founder and Managing Director, David Melville reading a classic, light-hearted short story, "Jeeves and the Unbidden Guest" from My Man Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse. One of many Wodehouse short stories, "Jeeves and the Unbidden Guest" features the young Bertie Wooster, his valet, Jeeves, and Motty, the son of an aristocratic friend, who Jeeves and Bertie must get out of trouble. David grew up in the UK where attended the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art and began his career as an actor. In 1995 he met Melissa Chalsma when they were both cast in a Broadway production of HAMLET. They married 10 months later and co-founded Independent Shakespeare Co. shortly after that. David has directed and appeared in many ISC productions. Recent roles include Bottom, Titus Andronicus, Julius Caesar and Feste. David has composed music for many ISC shows and co-wrote the original musicals RED BARN and ANITA BERBER IS DEAD! TV and Film includes LAWRENCE OF AMERICA, STARGATE ORIGINS, IRONCLAD, PERFECTION, THE UNDERSTUDY and ISC’s recent ROMEO & JULIET. When asked why he selected this short story to read, David responded, "P.G. Wodehouse is often referred to as the funniest writer in the English language. Dipping into his work always cheers me up and, as we all probably need a bit of cheering up right now, I thought it might be appropriate to read one of his short stories for this series. JEEVES AND THE UNBIDDEN GUEST is one of the earliest Jeeves and Wooster capers, first published in the Saturday Evening Post in December 1916 and later in the collection MY MAN JEEVES. Surprisingly, when we are introduced to Bertie, he is not in his native England but enjoying a lengthy stay in New York. I chose this particular story as it didn’t have any characters with tricky American accents. I hope you enjoy listening, it was certainly a joy to record." Enjoy David's lively voicing of P.G. Taken from http://www.nicolabryant.net Nicolas own site Nicola is probably best known to the public for her work in Television. Her first professional role was as the American companion Peri in Doctor Who opposite Peter Davison and Colin Baker. "I grew up in a small Surrey village just outside Guildford. My parents, Sheila and Denis had two daughters. I came along first and then three years later, my little sister Tracy arrived. Both sets of grandparents and many aunts and uncles all lived in the same village. It was a great way to grow up. It gave both my sister and I such freedom. Only once you reached your teens did the cosiness start to feel a little claustrophobic but that's all a part of growing up. I started dance classes at the age of 3 and piano a year later. When friends visited we would spend the day choreographing little shows that we would perform that evening for our long suffering parents. All I knew was that I wanted to be a dancer. I wanted to be on stage. I always wanted to go to ballet school and although at age 10 I auditioned and was accepted into several schools I couldn't go because I suffered so badly from asthma, which ran in the family. I was so upset by this that my mother got me involved in a local amateur dramatics company and I soon started to fall in love with acting. Once I had completed my formal education I auditioned for all the London drama schools eventually accepting a scholarship to the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. It was in my final year at Webber Douglas that a production of the American musical "" was staged. We all had to audition for the parts and I got the role of Nanette, much to everyone's surprise, including my own. Weeks later I had completed my diploma at Webber Douglas and I was out in the big wide world of professionals, searching for work. At that time of course there was the catch 22 situation that you needed to work to get your equity card but you couldn't get work without an equity card. To make matters worse there were very few jobs that would give you a card. Well, to cut a long story short, Terry Carney called me to audition for the part of "Peri" the new American companion in . I was incredibly lucky to get that chance and after 3 months of auditions in which the producer John Nathan-Turner saw literally hundreds of girls from the States and Canada, I finally got the part. It was a wonderful time, in which I made a lot of friends and worked with some amazing people. I then spent nine months in the West End with Patrick McNee at the Savoy Theatre in the thriller "" directed by Bryan Forbes. After a leading role in the West End and playing the companion in Doctor Who my career was well and truly launched. Since then I've been lucky enough to have had a very varied career, travelling the world and working with some wonderfully talented people in various mediums; stage, television, audio and film. This year I have made appearances in the soon to be released TV series 'Love in Hyde Park'; in the sit-com 'My Family'; and the controversial drama documentary on Princess Diana's inquest, 'There are Dark Forces'.
