'I' Alone Am Response-able

'I' whoever I am, this 'I' that's listening to these words now, is responsible for my return as Source Connection to the entire Universe and beyond. I alone am responsible for that. I alone, am responsible for my return as Source Connection to the Universe and beyond in what appears to be a daily life. My response is my ability. No response, no ability. My response reveals my ability. Reaction is the old world ensnarling you in the idea that you're just a body-mind.. a body-mind that is literally, if we look, programmed in certain behaviour mannerisms and affects. And none of it is what you were born with and none of it is what you belong to and none of it is real. But it is given permission to have function as an idea that that's what you are. So just to reiterate what I just said; whoever I am, it is my response-ability as Source Connection to return the frequencies of all my action, even my breathing, to the Source Connection I Am, and that connection that is throughout the Universe and in the Beyond. I Am That and my ability is already inherent in What I Am. My response opens my ability. My no response to the truth I know I am Source Connection, holds my body-mind as my identity and holds my attention and my abilities held and a prisoner captive in patterns of behaviour that are not yours and certainly not your birthright. I who am listening to these words now, am already response-able. I have the ability to respond to the moment as Source Connection, to the entirety of the Universe and the Beyond. I Am That. If I do not respond to that knowledge, there is reaction. It's literally a chain reaction. And if I look in my family and my ancestry I see the chain reaction of the rejection that I am not Infinite and have infinite capacity. And literally, not only am I multidimensional but there's nowhere that I cannot be found, for I am the one wholeness that is within every cell of the Cosmos and Beyond. That is my knowledge. I Am That. Just a little reminder, keep your own 'I' in your own centre. Then it's only when we react to this moment that is here right here, right now, that we begin to move in a setup plan, it's a setup plan, we move in particular ways that our families, families, families and our ancestors have moved for thousands of years in a believing setup that I am a body-mind, a limitation. But I am not that. This body-mind is an infinite light, an infinite spark of What I first Am as Source Connection. The body-mind is only here and now. It does not move in space and time. That's an appearance. It moves in What I already Am, a profound light of Consciousness and Being that can be said to be Love. In other words I Am Love. There's nothing else that I am. But if I, whoever I am, do not respond to this moment, please hear the words, I'm going to go over them quite consistently, but I'm either, a response to that knowing I am, or I'll be in reaction, and reaction is the world and is the program and it's in all of us in myriads of ways. It's in our families, it's in our relationships it's in our intimacies, it's in our business, it's in every single level where we have ever given our power away in the belief that we are a body-mind. But the body is in the Divine Mind that I Am and I am the Divine Heart and I am Love and I am Source and its connection throughout the Universe and Beyond. That's What I Am. from Sunday Satsang 2 May2021

patreon.com/beelitesoccertrainingThis podcast journey had some Humble Beginnings back in March of 2018. At the time, I was working three jobs, coaching in Benicia, and my fellow Coach Ugo and I had this crazy idea of starting a podcast. Ugo has a background in music but neither of us had any podcasting experience aside from listening to a few on occasion. Yet, we didn’t let that deter us from starting the Full 90 Coaching Podcast, whose goal remains the same today, which is to have members of the soccer community share their experiences, insights, and tips to inspire others and become better! In addition to doing solo sessions like this and team talk Tuesdays, I’ve been blessed to have a wide array of guests on the show to date, with coaches who are new and seasoned, young and old, recreation and competitive, middle school, high school, college, head coaches, assistant coaches, parent coaches and volunteers. I’ve had referees, college counselors, mental and physical performance coaches, directors of local and international clubs and organizations, program founders, platform creators, and non-profit organizations that bring the game to those in need. Every one of these guests provided so much quality in the episode, I’ve listened to each one multiple times and keep finding hidden gems, and recommend you do the same. For those that have been following from the beginning, or those that have gone back to the earlier episodes, I’m sure you’ve heard a difference in the audio and I apologize for not knowing any better early on. I recall over the first 18 months I would be doing interviews in a car, at Starbucks, with clip-on mics with terrible quality, anything to get the recording done in time to hit the deadline. Fast forward to today, and the process is a lot smoother and the quality a lot better. Not only has the audio gotten better, but I think I’ve gotten more comfortable and confident in the interviewing process. This podcast and all the great relationships that I’ve built would have never happened if I didn’t get out of my comfort zone and make the decision to take action. Now, I’m not necessarily saying you should start your own podcast, though I’m happy to share all that I’ve learned with you. What I AM saying is that we all have such a short time to live, so make sure you live BIG. My biggest change came about 7 years ago when I drove across the country from Massachusetts to California to pursue soccer as a career, and of course the warm weather doesn’t hurt! This summer, I’ll be entering my 10th year of coaching and I am the Head Women’s Coach at Contra Costa College, the Interim Executive Director with Spurs FC, the Founder of Be Elite Soccer Training, and I host this podcast. Some people think that’s a lot, but when your work excites you, you can make a positive impact on your community, and you have work-life balance, that’s when you have something special. Now for the big news! The Full 90 Coaching podcast will be doubling our output with 2 podcast episodes coming out each week; we’ll still have on our weekly guest, and we’ll also be adding a Monday Message episode to take a deeper dive into the one piece of advice our guests have given to any coach. Now our listeners can support the podcast and Be Elite Soccer Training through our Patreon. By becoming a patron, you’ll be supporting the work on the podcast as well as the work on the field. Depending on the tier, you could also gain access to exclusive behind-the-scenes content, live Q&A’s, our BEST swag and more! We have a special offer going RIGHT NOW, if you enroll at ANY tier level now through February 25th, you’ll receive a personal shoutout in our next Full 90 Coaching guest interview! In the meantime, check out the page at patreon.com/beelitesoccertraining and complete the poll. I’d love to make sure that I’m providing you with as much value as possible in regard to rewards. Feel free to select as many concepts as you like and message me for more!

Prayer 2021

Scripture of the Day:    Luke 2:37 “…and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshipped night and day, fasting and praying.”  Stay in Prayer We covered yesterday where we should pray. The answer was everywhere. Amen. I hinted that we need to pray in the little things we face during the day. The routine, mundane tasks. Buying dinner, choosing what to wear, etc. The scripture today refers to Anna, an 84 year old widow woman. The scripture tells us, after she was widowed, “she departed not from the Temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.” She wasn't just hanging out there for a few weeks, either. She had been RESIDING there, night and day. She was in constant prayer and service. Based upon Jewish historical records, assuming she was married at about age 16, you can figure she was widowed at about age 23 or 24. So we can figure she was in constant prayer for well over 50 years…closer to sixty years or so!  What did this do for her? She was so sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit that she KNEW something important was happening in the Temple. Nobody told her to hurry over the Temple because the Messiah was there!  She KNEW IT in her spirit!  AMEN! Luke 2:38 says that as she was coming in, which, by the way, was immediately after Simeon had finished prayer and prophesying about Jesus being the Messiah (he was told by the Lord that he would not die until his eyes had seen the deliverer – and he explained that to Mary and Joseph), Anna came in to the room in that exact moment and started telling Mary and Joseph, scripture says, “giving thanks to the Lord and spoke to everyone about Jesus that were there and looking for redemption in Jerusalem.” PRAISE GOD! Nobody told Simeon who Jesus was. Nobody told Anna who Jesus was. I should say, nobody BUT the Holy Spirit! Amen! Matthew 18:19 says, “If two of you shall agree on earth, as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father in Heaven.”  Whether Simeon and Anna knew it or not, they were both praying for the same thing and they were both praying in agreement! Amen! They were both intercessors. They were both praying people. They were both seeking the Messiah's appearance. And they both sensed Jesus was He right at the exact same moment. PRAISE GOD! They became so Spiritually sensitive because they STAYED IN PRAYER.  And they did this for years and years.  Am I saying you have to live at the church night and day for 50 years. No. Of course not… What I AM saying, is, as we have already described, you should stay in a constant state of prayer. You need to start seeking the Lord in the insignificant things and sensing His leading. “Lord, turn right or turn left?”  As you continue to do so, you will get better and better at hearing His voice. Just like Simeon and Anna did. Then, one day, you might just sense that someone needs you. When you go to where the Lord instructed you to go – I can guarantee you – you will arrive right on schedule and either have a Word from the Lord for someone (as Simeon did) or confirm the Word of the Lord for someone (as Anna did). Amen! I want to pray for you to develop that kind of sensitive spirit to be led by the Lord like that. SUPPORT ME ON PATREON WATCH MUSIC is not a GENRE VIDEOS and MORE Fake. Authentic. Sellout. Integrity. Judgy, aren't we? Yes, we are. We all know what's real & what isn't. What has value and what doesn't. What is substance and what is fluff. Except we don't. It's ALL an illusion. And ILLUSION is what I'll be talking about in the next few episodes of BOTH of my podcasts. All art is part truth, part trickery. Even the most authentic works – the ones drawn from direct personal experience – have artifice to them. They NEED to, or they wouldn't be art. It's right there in the freakin' word. I'll be getting more into this in Saturday's podcast. For now, let's talk about this week's pick, which might be the perfect entry into this conversation. If you remember Milli Vanilli, you probably remember two things, and in this order: 1. They were stripped of their Grammy because the blokes performing the songs on stage did NONE of the performing on the recording; and 2. Their album was a huge success, with several smash singles, including this one here, “Baby Don't Forget My Number”. It was one of five Top Five US hits, three of which went to #1. The songs were everywhere. I remember being on a bus at the time, and everyone on it was singing “Blame It on the Rain”. I'm pretty sure it was the only time I've experienced that with any group NOT in a music venue. Things you may not know or may have forgotten. The two dudes were Fab Morvan & Rob Pilatus. Fab is a French singer-songwriter, rapper, dancer & model. Rob was a German model, dancer & singer. They attempted some comebacks, the last of which ended when Rob died from an overdose of drugs & alcohol. Fab is still out there doing music, DJ-ing, and a bunch of other things. There have been scandals in the music & general arts worlds since forever. Plagiarism. Misplaced credit. Outright stealing. Not paying artists their due. Lip syncs that were supposed to be live performances. Etc. etc. But you'd be hard pressed to find one that was as big as Milli Vanilli. There have also been tons of deliberate fakeries. Artists recording music under other names, or writing for other performers under an alias. “Classic” or “vintage” songs that turned out to be completely made up. THEN there are the deeper fakes: artists pretending to be folk or blues or country through their work – some of them actually turning that fakery into darn near the real thing. I'll be getting more into the stuff in the paragraph in future episodes. But what about poor Milli Vanilli? What are we left with now? As always, you can probably guess my answer: THE MUSIC. I'm not excusing what the record company did, or who went along with it. And I'm quite happy that the real singers got their credit and some recognition (and money!). What I AM saying is that there hasn't been one scandal related to quality art that has ultimately taken away from how good or enjoyable the work is. Go listen to this week's song, or any off that album, and I guarantee the music will get you pumping. I enjoy a healthy helping of deliberate fakery. Here's one BIG one. Everything below is completely made up by me. Fake history, fake "old" song, fake bands. All of it. “Move Ahead, Long Boy” – https://youtu.be/LBvYPbisxmQ History of Modern Popular Music Using ONE SONG! – Live Concert - https://youtu.be/vID5aGZPugE --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nick-dematteo/support

Having a hit record is hard enough – try doing it twice!  Today’s special episode is filled with the stories behind the songs you know so well… from the artists that you don’t.  How did the real-life “Sharona” and “Jenny” feel about the songs written for them?  (Spoiler – one of them loved it. The other? Not so much.) Also - What group turned their failure as a bar band into a #1 hit?  And why did one group have to hide their identity before a radio station agreed to play their song? Plus, Ivan from Men Without Hats explains how getting thrown out of Ottawa discos inspired “The Safety Dance” and Marc Almond from Soft Cell talks about the surprising success of “Tainted Love”.  We’ve also got the stories behind “Video Killed The Radio Star”, “Shannon”, “I Can Help”, “Harden My Heart”, “What I Am”, plus the disco smashes “Knock On Wood” and “I Love The Night Life” (which both Christopher & Tom try to sing… and it’s not pretty).  And we end it all with One Hit Wonder Cool Song Facts!

To Whom Does This Moment Appear?

To whom does this perception appear'? To whom does this moment appear' ? If we look, just stop for a moment, we might see that actually we're looking through the veils and images of our own sense-self, the shadowy hall of likes and dislikes.. Nothing wrong with any of that because it's all made of Knowing or Pure Consciousness. Does this sort out how am I going to feed my kids? Does this sort out, "oh I've got a bit of a dodgy leg at the moment" ? Does this sort out my mind? Those difficulties here and there. How do I sort all that out with this? Well the real answer is, you might not. But whoever you are, we are, we might discover directly that we're Love or Consciousness itself. We just didn't stop to see to whom is this moment appearing? And I am suggesting you that in such a daring feat as 'just to stop', what we've been running from might let loose. I believe that's most of our fears.. or we fear our own disappearance, replaced by the light of Infinite Life. Is that something to fear? But the moment that we truly stop, the moment that we fully accept 'this', the moment we soften 'here', we may seem to lose control as energies and images and different levels of conditionality find their way home in the only 'I' there is. Did you ever consider that 'I' is mind? And as Awareness, are we turning the mind back in on itself? Then what is no-mind? I'll have to use some kind of words to point to this but they won't be sufficient.. Am I no-mind, am I prior to mind, am I prior to 'I'? In the tantric perspective of this I might find whoever I am, that within all objects 'I Am'. Not one cell is not made of What I Am, That that is prior to 'I'. And What I Am is Pure-Consciousness or Light. What we're all actually looking for is Pure-Knowing or Being and the Knowing knows no object. Is it not true, in openness, is it not true that my body is no longer a body? Isn't its texture different, its feeling different its energy different? Isn't there a kind of lightness of buoyancy? Really, do you constantly name your body all day long? Have you ever looked at this ? Nobody fears the body dropping away at night. Maybe it doesn't drop away because maybe it doesn't exist, only in What I already Am.. Knowing. And only on the level of humanness, in the development of that level of mind is there an image, an appearance that I have named as 'me', but it vanishes during the day even, and definitely when I go into deep dreamless sleep. Why do I use my image? When there is no image, how do I feel? Isn't functionality quite natural, movement quite natural? Isn't everything quite magical? Isn't energy pure, isn't Seeing and Knowing pure? Answers just come and flow. Answers to what? That means, 'do I answer to anything other than What I first Am'? That's very much the same as: at rest and open all is given. It's my mind that divides inside and outside, but What I Am is undivided". from Sunday Satsang on 21 June 2020

This One I Am has no before or after, has no above or below, it is neither close nor distant. It doesn't contain how or where or when. There is no time, no moment and no duration. No manifestation or place. It is One without Oneness and Singularity without being single. It is apparent without appearance and hidden without hiding. No one sees this One except this One itself. No one reaches this One except this One itself. No one knows this One except this One itself. Only by means of itself does it know itself, realise itself and simply disappear into itself without disappearance. This is more than subtle that I am endeavouring to put across. It's saying I Am That. I AM That. And using the words such as we or Awareness you can hear the grasping of the masking of the endeavour to realise this as being someone, but this One has never been anyone and yet this One is everyone. This One doesn't come or go, this One is close and yet immediate without any closeness. This One does not appear and yet is in all appearance. So, whoever this is, can look at this and has access immediately, to every level of existence. I have access in what appears to be years but in frames of experiences. Did I ever exist separate from what is? Do I exist in distance, time and space? Am I truly immediate, everywhere yet nowhere? That that I Am is present, constant ..not even intimate because I AM That. There is nothing but gold. There is nothing but That. There never was space-time distance. There never was existence separate from infinite gold. There never was, there never could be, there never will be. It is all What I Am. From Global Satsang 200614

Maybe, when I centre my movement, my life on what I see with my eyes but not what I know with my 'I' , there is surveillance going on building identification. Keeping me in a limited scope of knowing, seeing and belonging, creating . But when I am not surveilling, when I am given to the truth of What I Am, when my heart , my breath, my feet my hands, my ability to think , my ability to feel, when all my ability is given to the core of What I Am , I am no longer a surveillance camera , building identification, building information. Then this whole humanness opens to the light of That that I Am. I see myself and and know myself as infinite reality. Some people call this enlightenment, but is more than life changing. When the light itself, realises itself on any level of itself, we call that self-realisation. It is the end of surveying to make sure I'm safe, to make sure I'm still moving in identification with polarity. When I'm finally free of surveilling everything, of my surveillance system. My whole system belongs to Truth, belongs to Love, belongs to great Openness, belongs to gold, super gold. It is very paradoxical because there are moments of immense wonder, when my ability to see and know anything in this earth life, extends beyond limits and I'm not 'in touch with' a limitless reality, I AM limitless Reality knowing itself. And whilst there is still attention aware in this level of form...this level of form is, as it were, formed from infinite light and care and wonder. And even that's a paradox, in that there is ONLY This. There is nothing else. And yet the way that I function, the way that I live, the way that I see and perceive is changed by what I deeply Am, what I first Am, which is not a separate self. So if we are on this kind of wavelength, we're going to give up, as it were, sorting our lives out from linear perception and history. We turn our gaze around to the light of Knowing itself as our self. Not our self that produces sensation, not our self that produces thoughts and feelings related to some outside symbol. When in What I first Am, there IS no in or out. I am That. There is is no time or distance. There is only this fullness. It does not mean that I will experience this day to day, but my knowledge is: "This is the Truth." Then and is it our self that is true, that is Reality? Or is Reality what I first deeply am and there is no other or any thing else? Do I need to stay with that or is that the simple and direct Truth? From 200614 from Global Satsang Online 200614

an excerpt from the Easter Retreat 2020 On the tyranny of the thinker and what Easter is. The Tyranny Of The Thinker This morning I just wanted to bring some Awareness around the tyranny of the thinker. The tyranny!Dissolve the thinker. BE.Then, when this is really integrated a thought no longer moves as an identity, as somebody endeavouring to have something. A thought then is rather the same as the body, an instrument, for even the 'I' thought is not What I Am, but it serves What I Am, knowing what It is. That what an 'I' thought is.  Every day we become really present, no longer functioning in a thought, then the natural movement of doing what we do will just occur far more beautifully, far more in a fulfilment because then the thinker-you, the thinking you're someone won't be out to get something to fulfil itself.   Life itself is fulfilment of the One who truly Is. For some people, to allow a thought, to not be the ruler of their life can be extremely difficult and painful. For others to allow a feeling, not to dictate or have any indication of What I Am is psychologically terrible. And there are others that are mixed in thought and feeling and are being moved by thought and feeling for some while, and that is pure suffering. Nonetheless, amongst all of that there is Presence that has never gone anywhere.  What Easter really is as if it was anything at all, is to practise the Way, because only Love is the Way, and the Way doesn't need to think in the way of being someone. To take no thought is Easter. Take no thought is being True You, is Easter. There will be multiple deaths of the thinker and the feeler, the body-mind identifier. But what will arise from that is sheer beautiful essence of Presence and presence of Essence. That is Easter. Easter is celebration of real life and intimacy. It isn't a death. It's a total renewal and a remembrance of What I most profoundly Am, and I cannot not see it everywhere, for I Am Omnipresent, I am everywhere and yet I am nowhere whatsoever. Easter is a celebration of renewal. Forms, whether they be thoughts, feeling, actual, whatever level, forms that once served you are now free to dissolve, and you wildly expect the New You.  Never are you not pregnant with Greater Reality, it's your destiny because in the Deep you are already That. It has already happened.

Learning Styles and A Paradigm Shift As an educator and a Mom, one thing I know for sure is that I want to equip my teens with everything they need to manage their own learning. Understanding how I learn best and how my kids learn best makes a HUGE difference in the way I teach – whether in the classroom or at home – AND it puts them one step closer to becoming independent, lifelong learners. Now, when I was in the classroom, that shift came about as the result of a project my entire team did at the beginning of one school year. And to be clear, after that first time we did it, it was part of our interdisciplinary curriculum every year after. For the assignment, every kid had to use a guided journal, and detail different life experiences they’d had, using 8 categories that were based on Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences. At the end of the project, students did a presentation sharing which intelligences they were strong in and those where they were challenged. It gave us a lot of insight into our students and helped us get to know them. Bringing Learning Styles into Lessons Our challenge after the project was figuring out how to incorporate that insight into our lesson planning. If you’re a teacher, you know exactly what I’m talking about – putting together a one-dimensional lesson plan is a big challenge when you’re first starting out. And creating a one-size-fits-all assignment is certainly the simplest way to do things, but is it the most effective? To create eight different assignments – to fit ALL the different learning styles – that’s a recipe for crazy-making. The trick was to find efficient ways to hit as many learning styles as we could – and to recognize when our own learning styles were biasing us. Eventually, we got into a great rhythm, offering projects with a choice for what kinds of end products students could submit. Mixing up lesson formats to present information in a variety of styles and letting students have some freedom in how they worked in class. Learning Styles in the Time of Coronavirus Now, obviously, teachers don’t have a whole lot of wiggle room when it comes to the kinds of assignments they’re giving. During this coronavirus quarantine, the constraints of e-learning are definitely at play. But parents? Discovering your own learning style and your students could be a game-changer. Because while it’s literally impossible for a teacher to tailor instruction for each individual student (it gives me a panic attack to think about that level of work!), a parent can. Am I suggesting that parents need to know how to teach Algebra or French or Statistics or AP English? Absolutely not. What I AM saying, is that knowing your teen’s learning style can give you another tool to share with them; another way to support their learning. What It Might Look Like Imagine being able to show your visual learners how to turn class notes into visual symbols, then back into words again, to better study for a test. You could have your auditory learners explain the new math concept to you. Your read/write learners could condense class notes into a bulleted list. Or you could role-play taking the test with your kinesthetic learner, so they can practice. You get the idea – you can see how knowing those specific learning styles can be super helpful. (I’ve shared links with more information about this in the “Referenced in this Episode” section below. Different Ways to Look at Learning Styles Having said that, what I want to do next is share some different ways to look at learning styles. There are a ton of ways to “categorize” yourself – and your teens – but for our purposes, we’re going to explore 3 different ways to look at the way you learn. Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences First, and this is the one I used with my students in the project I mentioned earlier, is Gardner’s multiple intelligences. Here’s what they are: Linguistic intelligence Logical-mathematical intelligence Spatial intelligence Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence Musical intelligence Interpersonal intelligence Intrapersonal intelligence Naturalist intelligence Multiple Intelligences Learning Styles in Action The link between the intelligences and learning is that you process and learn optimally when new information is presented in the area of your strongest intelligence. For instance, if I was a history teacher talking about the American revolution, I might have someone with a strong linguistic intelligence read primary documents from the time period logical-mathematical intelligence put together statistics about the time period – population size, number of people in the armies involved, etc. spatial intelligence read (or create) a graphic novel detailing key events bodily-kinesthetic intelligence act out one of the key events or create a dance that represents key events musical intelligence study music composed during the time period and relate it to the events of the day interpersonal intelligence have a group discussion about key events of the time period and cause/effect between them (taxes & Boston tea party, etc.) intrapersonal intelligence journal as if they were someone from that time period experiencing a key event naturalist intelligence research how the natural terrain, animal population, etc. helped or hindered the American and British militaries Bernice McCarthy’s 4MAT Okay, the next kind of learning style structure we’re going to look at is the 4MAT model. This is something I dabble with as a teacher, but also as a speaker. The idea is that everyone has a question they need to have answered when they're in a new learning situation. (Go to http://theishgirl.com/ep75 to see the visual.) Type 1 likes self-reflection and looks for personal meaning. They learn by making connections. Type 2 likes facts. They think through ideas, research what the experts say on something. They learn by examining ideas. Type 3 likes doing. They experiment, build, and tinker. They learn by applying. Type 4 likes creating. They look for hidden possibilities, explore new ideas, and create and adapt. They learn by trial and error. How I’ve Used the 4MAT Learning Style The way I’ve used this, specifically, is by trying to draw in my audiences by answering the first three questions at the very beginning of the talks I give. For instance, with this blog post, I let you guys know in the beginning that my goal is to equip teens with everything they need to manage their own learning (that’s the why) and that one way to do that is by understanding different learning styles (the what) and that we’d be exploring how to use learning styles if you’re a parent who’s homeschooling or a teacher who’s creating e-lessons. (that’s the how.) The What If, I don’t really have to address, because there are those of you out there who are already thinking about, what if I used it this way with my kids? You know who you are! The VARK Guide to Learning Styles The last type of learning style structure we’ll look at is the VARK format. It was developed by Neil Fleming, and it’s an acronym for Visual, Auditory, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic. If it sounds similar to the multiple intelligences – well, it is. But there are a few nuances. This is from the website vark-learn.com/ and it outlines what each category represents People with a strong visual preference for learning like: different formats, space, graphs, charts, diagrams, maps, and plans. People with a strong aural preference for learning like: discussions, stories, guest speakers, and chatting. People with a strong read/write preference for learning like: lists, notes, and text in all its formats, whether in print or online. People with a strong kinesthetic preference for learning like: senses, practical exercises, examples, cases, and trial and error. You Can Use the VARK Guide to Learning Styles Right Now The reason I’m including the VARK theory is that they offer a great questionnaire to help figure out where you land in their version of learning styles – plus, they have a resource page that walks you through learning and communication strategies that work best for your style. How I’ve Used VARK with My Family Just to give you an idea of how we’ve used them in our family; my son is an aural learner, and he was on the Academic Decathlon team this year. They had multiple reading guides on a variety of subjects that they started studying last summer. He used my podcast equipment to record himself reading the guides and downloaded them to his phone so he could listen to them all the time. My daughter, on the other hand, is a list-maker (the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree – she comes from a long line of list-makers) and she puts everything down on paper or in her remind or list apps on her phone to keep track of all her things. Do You Want to Equip Your Teens to Manage Their Own Learning? This isn’t something that you have to be perfect at. In fact, it’s a whole lot of messy trial and error – for parents AND for teachers. But the bottom line is this: Are you the kind of parent and/or the kind of teacher who wants to equip your teens with as many tools as you can? The kind who is teaching your teens to manage their own learning? I’m a linguistic, quadrant 4 What If, Read/Write learner. What are you? What are your teens? I’d LOVE to know! You can grab graphics for each style on my show notes page and post them on your own social media – just be sure to tag me and use the hashtag #ishlearningstyles! And teachers, I’d love to know how you’ve incorporated learning styles into your classroom – pre-COVID and now. Go to the link on my show notes page to leave me a voicemail and tell me what you’re doing. You might be featured in an upcoming podcast episode! Head to my show notes page for more resources.

Andrew Weatherall - The Cosmic Traveller Free DL Here: https://hypeddit.com/track/75aff9 ... Weatherall added vocal samples from the US soul group The Emotions, a drum loop from an Italian bootleg of Edie Brickell's song What I Am, alongside snatches of other Primal Scream songs, and frontman Bobby Gillespie singing a line from Robert Johnson's Terraplane Blues. Gillespie saw Loaded as being part of the Jamaican tradition of dub records, where songs are deconstructed at the mixing desk, adding new elements and desecrating existing ones. It propelled the rock band onto the dance floor, and kick-started their career. "I think it's time to stop saying 'this is a dance record' and 'this is a rock record,'" said Gillespie at the time. "If you can play music, you can do whatever you want. Just use your imagination." The success of Loaded led to Weatherall being recruited for the whole of Screamadelica, establishing him as one of the UK's most in-demand producers. While remixing acts like St Etienne, Beth Orton and My Bloody Valentine, he also held down a DJ slot on London's Kiss FM and ran two club nights in London. However, he never became a household name like his contemporaries Paul Oakenfold and Fatboy Slim - a career move that was entirely deliberate. "That sort of carry-on was never for me," he told the Independent in 2016. "It's a lot of work, once you go up that slippery showbiz pole, and it would keep me away from what I like, which is making things." Instead, he carved out a career on the cutting edge of techno, with projects including Sabres of Paradise and Two Lone Swordsmen. 'Titan of music' In 2017, he explained the lure of the dancefloor in an interview with Uncut magazine. "It's the enduring appeal of transcendent experience, which has been with us for 200,000 years. A room, coloured lights, smoke and music? Over to you, Roman Catholics. There are ancient Greek rituals involving herbal drugs to achieve transcendence. "People were having transcendent experiences in 1940s dancehalls, dancing to a big band; now we do it with drum machines and electronic technology - it's the same concept. Humanity hasn't changed for 100,000 years, but our technology has." Musicians paying tribute to Weatherall included Ride guitarist and former Oasis bassist Andy Bell, who described him as "absolute titan of music". BBC 6 Music DJ Gilles Peterson said it was "hard to put into words" the "influence and impact he has had has had on UK culture." Hacienda DJ and author Dave Haslam tweeted he was "one of the greatest, sweetest, funniest guys I've ever met". And Tim Burgess from The Charlatans wrote he was "shocked and saddened to hear that cosmic traveller Andrew Weatherall has left the building".

a short piece about disappearance and emergence. One has to disappear to reemerge. To disappear to reemerge. Nature is doing it all the time but it appears to be doing on a timescale. This this is the beauty of the planet but there are more realms of a planetary consciousness that is the garden of What I Am. What we see is a process of emergence and reemergence in a set kind of frame for the purpose of the manifestation of the realm of 'I', a purpose that shows every level of our own emergence disappearance and reemergence. In What I Am there is no such thing . There is only Presence of Now but I do know it is multidimensional. I do get lost in all the dimensions to find that all the dimensions are already in What I Am. I am that 'What'. I used to believe I am an 'am' - a form, but now I know 'I and form' am What I Am. Disappearing to re-emerge. Here the simple signal of disappearing to reemerge is breath. You will not remember this you might, but there was a moment you breathed YOU as manifestation. You breathed You. And then the same sound of you emerging from the Beyond like a tremendous echo - they call it the Big Bang, but it is actually the big song, some call it OM...that same sound that you pass through, emerging as Nothing created a sound from the light that moved when You moved. The sound happened and You emerged and the moment you emerged all creation happened NOW. Never did exist before your emergence. and when you disappear never does it ever exist. For YOU are all that exists when you emerge and when you disappear, clearly don't exist as a manifestation but You are PURE YOU. You cannot not be Pure You. Aengsbacka 2019 NY

EverydayCPA Podcast | Tax Preparation | Tax Issue Resolution | Business Strategy and Tactics| Business Formation

My name is Kelly Coughlin. I am a CPA and the CEO of EveryDayCPA. And I am a failure. I am a successful accountant…but I am a failure entrepreneur. Today, I could talk to you about my career working for BIG companies…a BIG accounting firm, PWC; a BIG investment firm, Merrill Lynch, and a BIG bank, Lloyds Bank. I’ve had a happy and successful career in Seattle, Minneapolis, New York and London. Or I could talk to you about what we do at EVERYDAYCPA…with our STAR services…I could show you how we use Sun Tzu and Michael Porter from Harvard business school in our business strategy work. And I can show you how we can get the federal and state government to pay about 30% of your costs to start a business. And if you have past tax liabilities and we can get it reduced by over 50%. Or I could show you how we use ACCOUNTING debits and credits as weapons of MASS DESTRUCTION of your competition. And RISK, I could show you how to minimize the risk of contingent loss and risk of audit…I could do all that…But I’m not going to do any of that. What I AM going to do is talk about why I am a failure…or rather why I WAS a failure….in the entrepreneur space. About 15 years ago, I started down the path towards SMALL business startup…how hard could that be…I was educated (CPA and MBA)…I had great BIG company experience. I had some capital. I couldn’t help but succeed. RIGHT? Wrong!!. It was a path to FAILURE!! Eventually, I succeeded. I love the quote from a very successful venture capital guy in Silicon Valley. ”Fail often, so you can succeed sooner.” In 2013, I sold a financial technology company I started in Minneapolis. The financial cost, risk, and rewards were big; but the non-financial costs were even greater and unfortunately VERY difficult to recover. I AM going to talk about why the enormous price that is paid in startups…not financial…but intangible…unhappy shareholders during the failing years…nervous vendors and bankers during lean cash flow quarters…and then the personal stuff…the day to day stuff that causes failed marriages,...poor relationships with children…and unhealthy diet and exercise. These are the true costs. It is helping entrepreneur wann-abe s mitigate these costs that is my sweet spot passion today. It is what I call TNT: Tactics, Need Timing. Based on my experience as a FAILURE, getting TNT right…or wrong…will determine what the true cost will be. Is the cost limited to financial investments and opportunity cost, that is the cost of not doing something else, while you are pursuing this new idea or dream? Or Is the cost fully burdened with the carnage from failed relationships with vendors, spouses, and children coupled with bad health and diet? Tactics Need Timing. What TACTICS will you utilize to implement your plan? How will you incubate your business? Will you outsource to start it or will you do it yourself? Are you going to quit your job or work at night and weekends? Are you going to use your own money or try to get other peoples’ money? NEED assessment is important. Does your market NEED your products or service versus your competitors. Who are your competitors…who are your substitutes? And if you say you don’t have any competitors, you definitely need help. People have millions of places they can spend their money. So, in a sense every product and service on the planet earth is your competition. I referenced Michael Porter earlier. Every business owner and frankly anybody involved in the revenue side of an enterprise should understand Porter’s Five Force Analysis on their business. Porter’s Five Forces are Rivals, Substitutes, Suppliers, Buyers, and New Entrants. These are the five forces that need to be understood before launching a business. And that leads to last one, TIMING. It’s the one most easily controlled and fortunately most important. In 1812 Napoleon had his million-man Grand Armee ready to take on the Russians. Napoleon was a brilliant military strategist…but he made a critical tactical mistake that cost him about 600,000 men’s lives and ultimately some historians say, cost him the war. His TIMING was bad. He launched his march on Moscow way too close to the winter season in Russia and ridiculously cold weather completely harmed his ability to win. Bad timing. In the startup world, it translates into, for example, maybe if your wife is due in six months, don’t leave your job yet to start the deal. Rather, outsource some things and work the deal at night. Tactics Need Timing (TNT) doesn’t NECESSARILY determine whether your path is one of failure or success. Rather, TNT determines how rough the road is…how many people did you hit and hurt along the way…and how happy and healthy you are during the journey and how happy and healthy you are when you finish and arrive. So, today we certainly help all small business owners with STAR services…strategy, tax, accounting and risk management. We have found that many small business owners simply don’t have the financial resources to pay for CFOs, CPAs, and marketing experts…they are expensive…I know this…I sold these expert services while at PWC….and I BOUGHT those services at Lloyds Bank. But WHAT I PERSONALLY REALLY LOVE TO DO is help the entrepreneur family,  with a startup idea they want to monetize; or the entrepreneur who simply wants to STOP working for THE MAN; or the entrepreneur who is retiring and wants to stay in the game, in part frankly because he knows he knows the stats…it is more likely he will die within 24 months if he gets out of the game. Some of you know, I like to box and I like to run 5ks and 10ks. And my performance has waned over the past ten years in these areas. But fortunately, there are a few things that ONLY gets better with age, experience and wisdom. And this is one of them. The clarity that TACTICS NEED TIMING must be considered before launching a business…and getting this right, will determine not only what the easily recoverable financial cost will be…but more importantly, it will determine the personal and relationship cost that no business transaction will ever recover. Thank you for your time.

British composer and electronic producer Circles And Ellipses releases “Burn:Cycle Reworks” via Here & Now Recordings; a follow-up EP to the original soundtrack of the 1994 video game Burn:Cycle, the first ever video game soundtrack to feature orchestral music, consisting of four reimagined electronic compositions. Originally composed and produced by both Chris Whitten and BAFTA-nominated British film score composer, conductor, producer and musician Simon Boswell in the early ‘90s for the adventure video-game title published by Philips Interactive Media, Chris Whitten now returns as Circles And Ellipses to share reworks of this classic game soundtrack. Whitten’s musical journey has been a vast and impressive one so far, from producing classic ‘80s hit-singles such as "What I Am"by Edie Brickell & New Bohemians (which currently boasts 10 million views on YouTube alone), to providing drums for "The Whole of the Moon"by The Waterboys and the legendary Sir Paul McCartney’s 1989 album“Flowers In The Dirt”and joining iconic British rock band Dire Straits on their final world tour from 1991-1992 and once again during their 2017 reunion tour. Chris Whitten is also widely recognised for composing original scores for top media companies, including BBC and Discovery Channel. Circles And Ellipses has just done a Mix for NTS Radio’s Tim Noakes’ ‘Synth Hero Show’ whose previous guests include film composer Clint Mansell, dance duo Orbital, Stranger Things composer Kyle Dixon, and Paul White from R&S Records. Noakes has described Whitten as“cult drum God”. Chris Whitten was born in Wimbledon, just outside London and now lives in the west of England, near Bath and Glastonbury. With a burning desire to pursue a musical career, Whitten left home at the early age of just 16 to study jazz and classical composition at The City Of Leeds College Of Music, although his musical diploma would be cut short in 1979 after picking up more local gigs and eventually embarking on a tour with seminal British jazz-fusion guitarist Gary Boyle. In the early 1980s, producer and guitarist Simon Boswell invited Whitten to perform drums on an album session in Rome. On returning to London, Whitten would contribute to many various styled projects and bands including punk/ funk band Out fronted by local fashion icon and journalist Alix Sharkey, repeated RCA Studio Sessions in Rome, and working as drummer and arranger on several hit albums for celebrated Italian musicians such as Francesco De Gregori, Gianni Morandiand Riccardo Cocciante, collaborating on Cocciante’s 10th studio album with orchestral arranger Paul Buckmaster(Elton John, Miles Davis). Former bandmate Karl Wallinger had since joined Scottish-Irish folk rock band The Waterboys, and in 1984, Whitten would take up drum duties.Chris Whitten performed drums on the hit single “The Whole Of The Moon”, which is still regarded as The Waterboys’“finest hour and signature recording”. Whitten then gained a shining reputation as a prolific freelance studio drummer for artists such as Swing Out Sister and Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders). Co-producer of the original “Burn:Cycle Soundtrack”Simon Boswell currently holds more than 90 credits in film and TV composition, including acclaimed classics such as Phenomena(1985), Santa Sangre(1989), A Midsummer Night’s Dream(1999)and many more. Boswell's record productions from the 1980’s have influenced many other contemporary musicians, notably "Block Rockin' Beats"by UK electronic act The Chemical Brothers. Whitten sees himself as a drummer with a passion for synthesizers. Although he loves the synth sounds of 90’s techno and electronica, Whitten also takes influences from more classic sounds such as the work of Herbie Hancock, Jan Garbarek and Eberhard Weber. As for his electronica inspirations, Whitten has drawn influence from the likes of minimal techno artist Speedy J, early Detroit techno from 69(Carl Craig) and Kenny Larkin, as well UK’s Kirk DeGiorgio and contemporary electronic producer Lone. Whitten’s work as Circles And Ellipses for the “Burn:Cycle Reworks” EP can best be compared to minimal techno maestros such as Stephan Bodzin and Max Cooper.

To say that Brad Houser merely impacted my musical life is hardly true. He almost entirely put me on a course, in fact. I must've seen Critters Buggin' 25 times in Seattle in the 90s and when I couldn't find myself a guitar gig I got myself a bass gig. Brad was my guy. I even started a band with some friends that was our answer (read: attempted rip off) to Critters, an instrumental band consisting of my 3 different basses (4 and 5 string plus fretless), drums and a percussionist, and a clarinetist. So, yeah. Brad had an influence on me. And, as I've said a million times: playing the bass was one of the most important things I've ever done for my guitar playing. So, Brad eventually influenced my guitar playing by my estimations. Getting in to Critters opened doors for me to go back and listen to Miles, Herbie, and some other 70s stuff like Mahavishnu. Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians' debut album had a break out single, What I Am. As a young rock/metal kid it was unusual for me to get into something like that. I wasn't a Deadhead and only appreciated very few things outside of my preferred comfort zone. But not much. Later I realized a huge element to What I Am that drew me in was the interesting bass playing. There was something going on that I'd never heard before which was so musical, complex and busy but not overpowering. I loved it. The bass just didn't stand out in much music I was listening to. So, of course, when I eventually began playing bass I sought out Brad when I heard he lived in Seattle. We didn't get far in lessons, 2 or 3 I think. But, I went and watched him play a ton of Critters Buggin' shows. At one of our lessons he blew my mind when he told me he was taking an African dance class to help with his bass playing. I'd never heard someone speak of such a completely physical relationship to an instrument and performing on it. He became my benchmark bass player and though I knew I'd NEVER be the bassist he is I figured I had to sort out how to fool folks into thinking I belonged in a category of musicianship that he existed in......In this episode of Couch Riffs we talk about some of this stuff. PLUS, Brad's new signature bass coming out with Reverend Guitars. Brad and I stayed friendly over the years and when we would run into each other it was always fun and good to catch. So, when I saw the band was touring to support the new album (which is great) I was super excited to see the Brooklyn date. Brad agreed to appear on Couch Riffs and here are the results. Always great to catch up, Brad. Thank you so much and good luck with the new album and everything you do. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/couch-riffs/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/couch-riffs/support

Singularity And Frequencies Of Knowing

A short excerpt about singularity from the New Zealand Retreat 2018. "Singularity is the same as saying , there is only One, or Oneness. Singularity is the fact that both subject and object arise in the same space. The knower and that that seems to be known arrive in the same space. It is the space that is the Singularity. It is the space that is the Oneness - but the subject is the Knowing. Each and every one of us knows. The mind will add 'What do we know?' and that can be a proliferation of Knowing. Most human Knowing is knowing self-experience through things experienced. Yet even those things that are experienced are experienced beyond a thing. A thing for instance can have emotional content or it can be experienced mentally. Right now there can be in any one of us a Knower-sphere that is still highly charged with personal self-consideration. The Knowing heads straight to a me-centre surrounded by thoughts of me and sensations of me and feelings of me . That's perfectly fine .. it is rather like a building block of a deep possibility. And the deep possibility to shape that building block in the likeness of the Deep. That what this body is. So within the subject of Knowing within the human realm, Knowing has different frequencies, colours but the Knowing itself is the fragrance and presence of Pure Being, the light of Awareness. See how in the pause we can drop into the Knowing. When we drop in to Knowing , we're knowing no thing, just deep nothing, knowing no thing. No objects within our consciousness. If we look that is substantial peace. A quietness that Reality itself . Within Reality itself there are many levels of Reality, formed and formless but Reality is One . It is already the Totality, it is a singularity but it has functions on levels of itself in different frequencies, rather like a waterfall. The water is the same but the width of the space and the depth of the water varies. isn't it true that there is the same water in a raindrop as there is in the ocean? So could you enter a raindrop and know the ocean? Can we enter a human life and realise the Source? Not Two but the same One? All this is a movement of conductivity. Whether the hand moves to pick up a glass or the hand moves to touch your face or just moves without you even realising ..what is it conducting? A hand gesture conducts a sphere of life where the subject 'I' is coming from and endeavour to give expression and meaning to a place I am currently walking in. We can just walk in our conditional sense of self or we can walk as Consciousness itself. Consciousness itself can walk as Consciousness itself in amongst the levels of its cascading Love. It can walk in more than one level in a single moment because it IS singularity. That is to say that each and everyone of us, although we appear to be a drop , we are the whole ocean. But to access the ocean you have to BE like the ocean. If we just stay in a wave, that wave is going to end up back on the shore. The waves gone. But if you can see that rather than being a wave you can know the wave and remain as the ocean. Then the wave is the movement of the expression of the ocean 11:22. That is a human life. Then we deepen in the root of being oceanic, deep and we are actually exploring the What I Am. " NZRetreat 2018 D4 S1

Self Directed Investor Talk: Alternative Asset Investing through Self-Directed IRA's & Solo 401k's

The last decade’s hottest investment strategy among individual real estate investors is dying a very rapid death. Find out what it is… and why it’s dying right now. I’m Bryan Ellis. You’re listening to Episode #302 of the largest, fastest-growing self-directed investor podcast in America…-----Hello, Self-Directed Investor Nation! Welcome to Self-Directed Investor Talk, the SHOW OF RECORD for savvy self-directed investors like YOU! Before we get into the thick of things today, I’ve got to ask you: do you THINK you really know the fundamentals of self-directed IRA’s? Do you really? Well if you DON’T know those fundamentals, you’re in luck. And if you think you DO know them… you may be having even BETTER luck. That’s because for a very brief time, you can receive FREE access to a very highly regarded $297 training program called the SDI Wealth Guide to Self-Directed IRA Fundamentals, available now at SDITalk.com/fundamentals. That video-based training is available to you right now… and in it, you’ll receive the unexpected… but TOTALLY accurate… answers to questions like: What is a self-directed IRA? What kind of self-directed IRA’s are available? What’s the best type for YOU? And are there any self-directed investing alternatives that are SUPERIOR to the IRA? So check it out now, because your status as a listener to SDI Talk gets you something very special: FREE access to this training – normally priced at $297 – just by visiting SDITalk.com/fundamentals.Ok, my friends, this is episode #302, so all of the links and resources I mention in today’s show can be found, very conveniently, by visiting SDITalk.com/302. But I’d like to take about 20 seconds to express to you something kind of personal but very important, and that is that…I have a sincere thank you for you people. As you know, I’ve been on hiatus from doing this show for some time. To be honest, I’ve been struggling with some pretty severe personal challenges, and my mind wasn’t where it needed to be to give you folks what you deserve in this show. But yesterday, the time had come to begin this show anew, and that’s why I want to thank you: Yesterday, this show got HUGE download numbers, even though it was the first episode I’ve published in 6 months, and even though I did nothing to promote it. Still, you people downloaded this show en masse… and I’m so very sincerely, sincerely grateful to you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.Ok, let’s do this.In the last decade, there’s been a dramatic rise in something known as “turnkey rental property investments”. This is a type of rental property investing made for people who want the money, but not the time commitments, of rental ownership. The way it works is simple: If you buy a turnkey rental property, you’re buying more than just a rental property. You’re buying the property itself, sure… but that property has already been renovated to rent-readiness. But there’s also been a tenant identified, qualified and moved into the property. And to top it all off, there’s a property manager already in place who is handling the entire tenant relationship so that you, as the investor, can just collect the checks rather than be a landlord… and it also gives you the ability to invest your capital into markets where it really makes sense to do so, rather than being limited only to investing in your own back yard. So, a pretty cool concept… right? Sure is. With turnkey rental properties, you’re not buying a house, you’re buying an asset that’s presently producing cash flow.As a side note, this is one of those places where I think the very famous book Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki really painted too rosy of a picture. The message of that book is great: Invest in assets that produce cash flow. The secondary message is that real estate property is the best way to generate such cash flow. But the story seems to suggest that merely by owning these rental properties, you’re going to experience the theoretically possible cash flow. It’s just not that way. I was having a conversation last night with one of my subscribers named David who has a vast array of experience as a landlord in multiple markets, and we were looking critically at how one might successfully manage a portfolio of properties from a distance. The conclusion is that it’s not easy to do, and merely owning properties – even good ones – is a long way from guaranteeing your success. And that’s where the whole turnkey thing comes into focus. When you buy a turnkey property, assuming you’re buying a good property with a good property manager, then what you’re doing is acquiring a real cash-flowing assets… the kind that Kiyosaki praised so heavily in Rich Dad, Poor Dad.And it’s that level of convenience and automated realization of profits that’s made the business of turnkey rental properties boom so heavily in recent years. But there’s a dirty little secret in that business that the turnkey providers are really hoping you don’t find out: There’s a serious inventory shortage. That’s right… the turnkey people are having a really hard time keeping up with the demand for these properties because… after all… a key consideration is the ability to generate CASH FLOW from these properties. But as the PRICE of real estate has grown at a much faster pace than the attractiveness of turnkey deals is turning downward. You need not trust me. Check out today’s page over at SDITalk.com/302 and you’ll see two very interesting links: One with the National Rent Index from Apartment list, showing national rents increasing at only 1.4% per year… And then you’ll see the National real estate composite index from Case Schiller, which shows a national appreciation rate for actual REAL ESTATE VALUES of more than 3 times that… about 4.7% from July of last year to now.So as real estate values increase at a dramatically faster rate than rental rates, what we have is a situation where it’s much harder for the turnkey rental property companies to mass-produce turnkey rental properties that offer an acceptable yield. Now before you conclude that I’m suggesting that this isn’t a good time to buy rental properties, I’ll recommend you hang with me for a minute, because that’s not what I’m saying at all. What I AM saying is that things are becoming much harder for the turnkey property companies, and so many of them are diversifying AWAY from turnkey properties – which is something that some of them know a lot about – and they’re jumping into offering other types of investments. Usually real estate-related, but certainly not similar to turnkey rental properties. Frequently it’s investments in international real estate in tropical locations… or maybe it’s opportunities to syndicate your money into the building of new entire neighborhoods or developments which will then be sold to other investors or home owners… or maybe it’s something wholly unrelated to real estate. This stuff gives me pause. It’s not that there’s anything fundamentally wrong with any of that… it’s just that this almost inherently means that the turnkey company you’re working with is stepping out of their area of expertise and into a realm where they’re new to the game. And so that is something important and worthy of consideration where the safety of your money is concerned. But far be it from me to say that it’s no longer a wise thing to buy rental properties today. It’s pretty much always a smart thing to buy strong cash flow. But there are a couple of distinctions now:The first is that you’re going to find lower and lower inventories being offered by these turnkey providers. This is evidenced by your needing to be placed on a “waiting list” for properties… and by that wait being multiple months in duration. As such, you’ll find that when properties ARE available for investment, you’ll need to jump on them rather quickly.Incidentally, we do have a few really great turnkey deals available right now, which you can see by visiting SDITalk.com/turnkey, SDITalk.com/turnkey.And the other distinction is this: There’s a huge difference between YOU finding rental property investments that make sense, and a turnkey rental property company finding a situation that makes sense. For you, you’ve only got to find deals one by one, or even if you’re deploying a lot of capital, still you only need a relatively small number of deals. But these turnkey people… a lot of them move 50-100+ properties per month… they’ve got to find entire swaths of geographic areas where they can get a large volume of deals on a recurring basis. The advantage is inherently with you, because you’re small, you’re nimble, and when an INDIVIDUAL great opportunity arises, it will make sense for you to pursue it, but not them.So again, far be it from me to suggest that now is no longer a good time to acquire real estate cash flow. A good time for that is, approximately, ALWAYS.Ok folks, that’s it for today. Hey… do me a favor, will ya? When you have a question about self-directed IRA’s, 401k’s, custodians or investment strategies, shoot them over to me at questions@SDITalk.com... I’ll do my best to answer them here on the show for you.My friends… invest wisely today, and live well forever! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Tonight at 8 pm on Love Is Power, the topic is Why Love Yourself. I truly believe, when people start to love themselves more each day, it’s amazing how their lives get better. They feel better. They get the jobs they want. They have the money they need. Their relationships either improve, or the negative ones dissolve and new ones begin. It’s a very simple premise—loving yourself. I’ve been criticized for being too simplistic, and I have found that the simple things are usually the most profound. Someone said to me recently, “You gave me the most wonderful gift—you gave me the gift of myself.” So many of us hide from ourselves and we don’t even know who we are. We don’t know what we feel, we don’t know what we want. Life is a voyage of self-discovery. To me, to be enlightened is to go within and to know who and what we really are, and to know that we have the ability to change for the better by loving and taking care of ourselves. The Power that created this incredible Universe has often been referred to as love. GOD is love. Love Is Power.  Tonight I will discuss with you what has worked for me and hopefully, it will work for you.  I want more happiness in the world. #TeamWorkMakesTheDreamWork My "Our" Creed  Love Is Power, I AM LOVE, I LOVE MYSELF, Love Is My Power, I will use my power to heal and better myself. I WILL share MY POWER WITH those who are worthy. No one can take MY power from me, No ONE CAN DIMINISH THE POWER THAT MY CREATOR has given me. Today on "Love Is Power", topic “Celebrities Are Human Too”. Have you ever wanted to be a celebrity? There is a saying “be careful what you ask for you just might get it”. Have you ever heard, “all that glitters is not gold”? How about, “you think the grass is greener on the other side”. Being a celebrity can be a blessing or it can be a curse. I have seen people faint, cry, scream, yell and curse. I wish people would realize that celebrities are human and not idols. They have feelings, they get scared, they cry, they hurt, they get sick. A lot of them work very hard some overwork and some have no lives. Many are not happy and do not have real love or loving people around them. Some are depressed, many are on drugs.   Creed Love Is Power, I AM LOVE, I LOVE MYSELF, Love Is My Power, I will use my power to heal and better myself. Love Is Power, Topic "Sing to Me", is dedicated to all the Mother and daughters out there that have great relationships, this is also to the mother’s and daughter’s that do not have great relationships but wish we they did. This is also for the soon to be mothers. Mother-daughter relationships are complex and diverse. Some mothers and daughters are best friends. Others talk once a week. Some see each other weekly; others live in different states or countries. Some spar regularly. Some avoid conflict. Others talk through everything and undoubtedly, there’s a hint of all these things in most relationships. There also are ups and downs, no matter how positive (or prickly) the relationship. Understanding a Mother-Daughter Conflict sees three primary complaints that daughters have about their moms: Moms try to parent them and are overly critical and demanding. From moms’ perspective, daughters don’t listen to them, make poor choices and have no time for them. Whatever your relationship with your mother or daughter, you can always make improvements. On Love Is Power you are going to get some tools on how to enhance your communication and connection and cut down on clashes. There are also some moms that are not maternal and plain evil, we will talk to and about those as well. Creed Love Is Power, I AM LOVE, I LOVE MYSELF, Love Is My Power, I will use my power to heal and better myself. I WILL share MY POWER WITH those who are worthy. Today on Love Is Power, the topic is “Fake Smile”. Do you ever feel like you are always smiling but it is not genuine?Reason being you have a lot of pain and suffering going on inside of you. Instead of getting the help you just put on your mask that has a smile on it. People never know you are a ticking time bomb because you are a good actor or actress. Can you tell when someone is shooting you a fake smile? Even though fake smiles are easy enough to see through, we all still do it, attempting to show others just how happy we are when we're really feeling less than fantastic. Unfortunately, every smile we fake makes us a tiny bit more miserable. Let us know better so we can do better, shall we? Creed Love Is Power, I AM LOVE, I LOVE MYSELF, Love Is My Power, I will use my power to heal and better myself. I WILL share MY POWER WITH those who are worthy. In truth, where I come from, You are the Light streaming Reality. Truly this is Life streaming. Your essential nature is streaming this moment alone. The belief that you have a past or a future is through the interpretation of mind only, the conditional aspects of what we believe belongs to this planet. We're told that we come into a conditional planet but what we're not shown is that all the conditions of this planet are true for Self-realisation, despite appearances, despite experience of a seeming separate sense of self. This planet is aligned with our essential nature and its conditionality is ripe for unconditional realisation. If we look through our mind, which means looking through a separate sense of self, our conditional thoughts and feelings present to us a dualistic experience. Awakening is recognising and moving only your heart, not relating to sense perception in thoughts or feelings of experience, because even by having a body you've inherited a conditional sense of self , but like when you were a baby that conditional sense of self is not for you to listen to or try to fix it . When you were very very young , you simply moved in innocence. Where I come from innocence is radiance . You simply moved as a being , not as a body mind. You were told you were a body mind. For you as a baby the conditional functionality of a body didn't bother you whatsoever, but somehow as we seem to grow up we seem to listen more to the condition of the body. "How my self feels, how my self thinks, who I think I am." So then we project ourselves out . Now we're someone having forms of experience. But what you loves as a child , there were no forms of outer experience . Your experience was profoundly rich and deep . You were rich, simple and already whole. You weren't touching outside forms . Everything that you touched was liquid to you, because you didn't see yourself as a body. You just moved in the innocence of Being. So awakening is when we awaken to a deeper calling than a separate sense of self. Awakening is a very disturbing time because it brings us to true responsibility to only listen to the depth of our heart and not to count the cost of what that would be for our sense of self . So when we really awaken we begin to see how much we value true awakening over and above keeping our comfort zones safe. One of the things that really happens when we start to awaken is that we begin to see the stories we tell about someone who doesn't actually exist. We begin to see that the stories keep us separate from what we are and we can be quite afraid to give up the story of me. Its not until we really respond to what we are at the level of Heart and deeper that the fear disappears. What we begin to discover when we're true to the Heart is that we have access to our innocence once again. We have access into our radiance once again. We have access into a very familiar Knowing that is already complete. Suddenly when we truly give ourselves to awakening, although there are still levels of fear existing in our self, or sense of person. We learn to be wide open in the meeting place of each other. Because this meeting pace IS meeting God. This meeting place is the meeting of meeting Self as Self. This is Self-Realisation. This is Self-Realisation. This is realising What I Am, being so open to this meeting that it reveals the very essence of Oneness. Being so open to this meeting and reaching into each other's hearts that the sense of self and person is immediately aligned with our original nature. Not through doing something not even through trying to understand what we are, but through the simple act of soft opened deep meeting with All Life. What Exists Exists In What I Am

It's quite something for a human being to let go of the idea 'I exist' . In this whole realm, on the level of reality that has formed experience, conditional formed experience, there is the belief that What I Am exists as a 'someone' but the truth is that what exists exists in What I Am. It's actually the reverse. We're not taught that yet. We're looking at the turning around of 'I am someone who exists' into the Pure Knowing: 'What exists exists in What I Am and What I Am has no beginning or end - and this CAN be realised, direct. We begin with my Mt. Rushmore of sports-entertainment wrestling. Keep in mind, this is mine and I claim no more than that. I entered the world of wrestling in the vicinity of 1984 with all of the passion of a pudgy, awkward ten-year old after I moved to Connecticut, and I exited that world, and Connecticut, in 1989 with equal abruptness and all the passion of a skinny, still awkward, and now pubescent fourteen-year-old who just had his mind cracked open by GnR’s, “Appetite for Destruction” and a VHS porn I found in the recesses of some forbidden drawer. (Yeah, I know.  It’s a lot to process.  Just let it go and move on.  I did.) So…here goes. 1. Hulk Hogan (…because…Hulk Hogan.) 2. Dwayne Johnson (…because…he’s like Hulk Hogan times Hollywood minus all of the Hogan BS.) 3. Rocky Johnson (…that’s the Rock’s dad.  He was a straight up, no gimmick bad ass…as was his tag team partner Tony Atlas.  Actually, his only gimmick involved his pecs, several tattoes on said pecs, and the movement of said tattos on said pecs.  Check out this video of the Soul Patrol.) 4. Bob Backlund (…the first match I ever watched, on a console television, involved Bob Backlund.  Backlund ushered in the Hogan era via the Iron Sheik. Also, I just love a crazy ginger.) Mark then goes WWE/F “inside baseball” and leans quite Lampley as he describes his Mt. Rushmore of wrestling music and gimmickry. His decision, without much thought and yet with five cocktails coursing through his blood: 1. Hulk Hogan, “Real American.” (But seriously, this is a horrible song.  Lyically, musically, vocally…it’s a triple-decker heaping pile of poo on a platter.  And the video.  It highlights all that was actually wrong with the 80’s.  This is my opinion only.  Not Mark’s. Not yours.  But hey, it’s my blog.) 2. Dwayne Johnson, “If you smell what the Rock is cookin‘.” 3. Randy Savage, “Pomp and Circumstance.” 4. C.M. Punk, “Cult of Personality.” (Later, Mark would mention the Undertaker’s gimmick, and how it should likely be on this list.  So, there it is parenthetically. And here it is on Fallon.) Things kind of spiral from here, but the ride was fun…and as the cars return to the point from which they began, we close out this quintet of quirk and anti-quotidian chaos with one of the hardest, most-head-bangingest songs of the late 80’s, “Cult of Personality,” by Living Color. Oh, and I should mention, we begin this final leg of our marktastic journey with one of the chillest, funkiest, hippy-dippiest tunes from the same year (1988), “What I Am,” by Edie Brickell & New Bohemians. We present to you, “No, That’s Not Jim Lampley.  (Mark, pt 5).”       THAT…is Jim Lampley.

Best known for singing a string of successful trucking-themed country songs in the 1960s and 70s, Red Simpson was also a highly influential behind-the-scenes songwriter from Bakersfield, California. Buck Owens recorded more than 30 Simpson originals, including the Top 10 hits “Gonna Have Love,” “Sam’s Place,” and “Kansas City Song.” Additionally, Red penned perennial standards, such as “Close Up the Honky Tonks” and “You Don’t Have Very Far to Go.” As an artist, he released a total of seven albums for Capitol and logged seven charting singles onBillboard’s country rankings, including the Top 40 hits “Roll Truck Roll” and “The Highway Patrol.” He is perhaps best known, however, for singing “I’m a Truck,” which hit the Top 5 in 1972. Simpson played guitar on most of Buck Owens’ recording dates in the mid-1960s, including sessions that produced hits such as “Buckaroo” and “Waitin’ in Your Welfare Line.” He went on to play numerous sessions with Merle Haggard, who referred to Simpson as a “hillbilly hippy.” Merle recorded a couple of Simpson originals on his 1969 album Pride in What I Am, and Red went on to play guitar on Haggard’s classic live LP, Okie From Muskogee. A half dozen other Simpson compositions have been recorded by Haggard, who wrote “A Bar in Bakersfield” in tribute to his old friend. As a songwriter, Simpson enjoyed additional charting singles by Charlie Walker, Wynn Stewart, Junior Brown, and others. His songs have also been recorded by Ferlin Husky, Johnny Paycheck, Wanda Jackson, The Byrds, Gram Parsons, Dave Dudley, Roy Clark, Roseanne Cash, Steve Wariner, Lucinda Williams, Alan Jackson, Candi Staton, Dwight Yoakam, and many more. Simpson died on January 8, 2016. This is the final in-depth interview with the California country mainstay Bob Dylan once called "the forgotten man of the Bakersfield Sound."

Anticipatory notes: I listened to this podcast during editing and noticed a few things that ought to have been said but were omitted: 1) We very briefly mention the idea of moving your kids to a dangerous country (like Israel), and suggest that it may or may not be a ridiculous idea. We didn't expand, but we have already done that - please go back and listen to Episode 23 for some great discussion on why this is so important to people. 2) I am NOT saying that it sucks to be handicapped, therefore we should not worry about helping in any way we can because it doesn't matter. What I AM saying is that a lot of things are bad in the world, and that cannot be a justification for federal regulation, especially when such regulation has as many negative as positive consequences.
