Several listeners asked why a spouse only remembers the negative, or only dwells on the negative. Why don't they remember the good times or see the good things? Over the years, I have noticed this as a recurring and common issue in your efforts to save your marriage. A spouse's thoughts just stay on the negative. Maybe thinking about what is going on now or remembering what happened then. (Memories are just current thoughts about past events -- not accurate representations of the past.) Since this is such a common phenomenon, I thought it might be good to cover it in a podcast episode. If your spouse is stuck in the negative (or you find yourself stuck in the negative), let's look at the reasons it happens... and what you can do about it! Sunday 11th February, 2024 - West Site Speaker - Mark Crosby Mark takes us through the Parable of the Talents from Matthew 25:14-30. Before leaving to go on a journey, the master in the story entrusts a portion of his wealth to each of his servants - the size in accordance with each of their abilities. Mark explains that the skills and abilities that the Lord has granted us are not gifts, but are given to us in trust, They are for us to nurture and develop for Him, to serve Him, His Church and those He wants to bless in our communities, In order to avoid the mistake that the third servant made in burying the portion entrusted to him, Mark expands on the following five strategies to ensure that we care responsibly for what the Lord has entrusted to us: 1. Don't Fear Failure 2. Your Attitude is Key 3. Don't Give Up 4. Press On In Your Faith 5. Be Empowered by the Holy Spirit Matthew 25:14-30 14) ‘Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15) To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16) The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17) So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18) But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money. 19) ‘After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20) The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. “Master,” he said, “you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.” 21) ‘His master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!” 22 ) ‘The man with two bags of gold also came. “Master,” he said, “you entrusted me with two bags of gold: see, I have gained two more.” 23) ‘His master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!” 24) ‘Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. “Master,” he said, “I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25) So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.” 26) ‘His master replied, “You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27) Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest. 28) ‘“So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29) For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30) And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” ------- Recorded at North Site - 11Feb2024

Abundance is a Mindset You Must Learn to Create Abundance is something we hear a lot about these days. However, it is much easier said than done. How many times do you feel you are being positive, but life just doesn't seem to go your way. Well, over time I have realized there is a difference between positivity and abundant thinking. I think it is super important in business and in life to recognize what it really takes to become an abundant thinker. Otherwise, we are living in an perpetual state of grind and working toward a future that never arrives… Abundant thinking really boils down to living in constant state of creativity and vision with your focus on the future “greatness” we are all capable of attaining. When you can live focusing your attention on the future greatness you actually already ARE RIGHT NOW…you will attract the things that you need to continually evolve into that very state. When you focus on the current limiting circumstances and state you are in, it is difficult to truly benefit from the law of attraction or the universal laws that can help you create the success, health, wealth, and happiness you deserve. To truly become abundant, it requires you to RAISE YOUR VIBRATIONAL FEQUENCY you operate in day to day…I know that sounds a bit out there, but let's talk more about this today. I hope you enjoy this podcast episode. Today I want to talk about some strategies and ideas you can use to Train Your Mind to become more abundant. Topics Covered: · Your Attitude will determine your level of Abundance · Cannot Create from Scarcity · Focusing on Your Future Greatness is Key · Faith vs Belief · Gratitude is a Strategy You have Greatness inside you. He is a graduate of Baldwin Wallace University who opened his first ad agency at the age of 24. Over the past two decades, Kelly has excelled as a marketing director, communications executive, innovation specialist, and agency owner. In 2009, he identified, formalized and trademarked a Culture Development Marketing process that had been guiding his success in clarifying brand stories in a way that builds participation and creates a culture-building celebration of the brand's story. The Culture Development Marketing process is powered by the 3-P principle™ as it involves the defining of the three core components of a story: Attitude, Drive, and Direction. The base of the 3-P Principle is simple: when you define these three areas in concert together, they transform in a way that allows you to validate trust and connect on every level. Your Attitude becomes Positive, your Drive becomes Powerful, and your Direction becomes Purposeful. For 10 years the process of Culture Development Marketing has been the starting point in every brand relationship at Brand Story Experts and the foundation for the success of the company. In 2018, Kelly partnered in the development of The All In App. The All In App is an internal communications app that works hand-in-hand in with Culture Development Marketing by creating a cohesive system for keeping teams informed while gamifying internal content creation.https://brandstoryexperts.com/Rebel HR is a podcast for HR professionals and leaders of people who are ready to make some disruption in the world of work. We'll be discussing topics that are disruptive to the world of work and talk about new and different ways to approach solving those problems.Follow Rebel HR Podcast at:www.rebelhumanresources.comhttps://twitter.com/rebelhrguyhttps://www.facebook.com/rebelhrpodcastwww.kyleroed.comhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/kyle-roed/Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched! After Will's mom passed away in 2017, a lifetime of suppressed memories and events came flooding back in. What felt like a normal childhood with humble beginnings began to change. Suddenly he was seeing everything iin vivid detail, defending his mother during an attempted sexual assault, witnessing russian roulette at the kitchen table or being around for a long list of traumatic events. Will turned to food to deal with the trauma eventually climbing to 400lbs. He tried everything he could to change his trajectory including appearing in a local Biggest-Loser-style competition where he lost 88lbs in 12 weeks. But without understanding the psychology of food in his life the results didn't last long.Eventually Will did the hard work of understanding food's place in his life and digging into the trauma he experienced growing up. He's since spent intentional time working through his complicated grief and even becoming a grief facilitator in the process. Will sees the world with a totally new outlook, living his personal mantra “Your Attitude determines your Altitude.”Episode ResourcesWill Certain Music | facebook.com/willcertainmusicConnect with Will CertainFacebook | facebook.com/willcertainmusicGmail | willcertainmusic@gmail.comConnect with The Courage to ChangePodcast Website | lionrock.life/couragetochangepodcastPodcast Instagram | @couragetochange_podcastPodcast Facebook | @thecouragetochangepodcastTikTok | @ashleyloebblassingamePodcast Email | podcast@lionrock.lifeYouTube | The Courage to Change PlaylistLionrock ResourcesLionrock Life Mobile App | lionrock.life/mobile-appSupport Group Meeting Schedule | lionrock.life/meetings

Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God's servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. 6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor. 8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.We would love to pray for you! James 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations:James 1:16 Don't be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. 22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.The Blessing of God comes through the Word of God.Your Attitude towards the Bible Your Actions based on the Bible.James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above The Word Of God Is A Good And Perfect Gift That God Has Given To UsGenesis 3:1“did god really say”…God's Word is Living and Powerful. In this episode, Brian goes solo to talk about The 12 Pillars of Peak Performance Digital Training Program and how it will help YOU. You will learn about... The 12 Pillars of Peak Performance Digital Training Program How this program will help you and your team grow mentally Teach you why this system will get you 80% of the results in 20% of the time The process the Digital Training Program will take you through to become more Why there is no other training program out there like The 12 Pillars of Peak Performance Digital Training program PODCAST TRANSCRIPTION Cain: If you're looking for a 12 week solution and you're looking for a way to dominate the day and build mental toughness in your program and you're looking for that 20% of the entire field of Peak Performance/mental conditioning, here is it. In this episode I'm going to teach you a 12 week solution for mastering the mental game. There was an Italian Economist. His name was Vilfredo Pareto. What he found was that 80% of the wealth in the country of Italy was held by 20% of the population. When he went out to his garden he found out that 80% of his tomatoes were grown on 20% of the plants. If you look at any typical NHL roster 80% of the goals are scored by 20% of the roster. And if you look at Major League Baseball 80% of the Homeruns are hit by 20% of the roster. If you've been with me for any time you know what we're talking about - the 80/20 principle known as Pareto's Law. 80% of the benefit that you get comes from 20% of what you do. I'm a big Tim Ferriss fan. Tim Ferriss would refer to the 80/20 principle similarly to the minimum effective dose. If you've read his book The Four Hour Body or The Four Hour Work Week he talks about what is the minimum effective dose, the minimum effective thing that you can do to get the maximum return. Well as we talk about here your 12 week solution, in the last 15+ years of going around the country over 280 days a year working with top coaches, athletes, and athletic programs all over the country, what I've been on a mission to find out is what is it that they all do that if you did you'd become elite? You'd cut through the crap and cut through the noise and cut through the learning curve and get more done in less time. That is what the 12 Pillars of Peak Performance is. Your 12 week solution is very simple especially if you're a Texas high school coach who has got an athletic period or you're a California coach with an athletic period, or a college coach that has an offseason where you can access your athletes on a consistent basis, or a coach that has got even minimal access to your athletes because the beautiful part about the digital training program is it's all online and your athletes can access it anywhere, anytime, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. What you're going to get with the 12 Pillar of Peak Performance digital training program is you're going to get a spiral bound manual that has got a worksheet that you fill out as you watch the video. Imagine this. Imagine you're driving listening to this podcast or imagine your athletes' cell phones out watching me teach a video - just like I would if I was there with you in person - and they're filling out a worksheet. Then you get together with them and you talk about it. You talk about how does this Pillar #1 Elite Mindset relate to our program? Or Pillar #2 Championship Culture? What is our culture that is going to dictate behavior and set the stage for success in our program? Again it's the most user friendly easy to use and execute program that has ever been made. Let me talk to you about the 12 Pillar of Peak Performance and give you a little background of what they are. Pillar #1 is about training an elite mindset. Everybody wants to know how do you build mental toughness? Well you build mental toughness the same way you build physical toughness and physical strength - you've got to do a little a lot, not a lot a little. By doing a little a lot every day - for example reading a page of the Daily Dominator, following me on Snapchat, listening to this podcast once a week, following the Monday Messages that come out - those are all examples of what is called spaced repetition. Spaced repetition is doing a little a lot. If you want to grow that elite mindset that is how it has got to happen. For example one of the videos in the program (one of my favorites) talks about lessons learned from the Navy SEAL community. We'd show our videos and talk about how you want to never show weakness. Always be big with your body language. How you never feel sorry for yourself because feeling sorry for yourself is a worthless useless emotion that is going to get you nowhere. We talk about staying patient in the face of adversity. The number one way that you stay patient in the face of adversity is through taking a deep breath and oxygenating your brain so that you can be where your feet are. Another one of those lessons is that it pays to be a winner. You got it. When we talk about winning that helps us move into Pillar #2 which is that championship culture. Let me ask you this as you're listening to this podcast. If you and your team were together having a breakfast or dinner before you went on to play for a championship and I were to hand you an index card and everyone in your program were to write down the core principles - (or what I would refer to as the MVP Process: M the mission, V the vision, P the core principles; the mission being that eulogy, that big picture of why we're all together doing this; the V, the vision, the tangible resume specifics here is what we're after; and then the core principles) - if we were to hand that index card to your team would they all write down the same things? On some programs (for example) if we were to hand that out to Cliff Godwin and the East Carolina Pirates the players would write down that the purpose of the program is to learn how to be successful on and off the field for the rest of their lives. Their vision would be to win 40 games, to win the American Conference, to host a regional, host a super, go to the College World Series and win a National Championship - they all would know that. They would know their principles of PIRATES - purpose, integrity, responsibility, attitude, toughness, energy, selfless. They would know the core principles of their program and they would know the MVP Process. If you don't [know the MVP Process] you're not going to have people on the same page. What you're going to have is people come into your program (especially if you're in a college program or a varsity high school program) that are strong willed that think they know what it's going to take to be successful instead of coming in and fitting into your culture. Culture is not something that just happens. It's intentional. It's talked about. It's taught. It's something that you have to make a conscious decision to be a part of. Speaking of conscious decisions to help you become more, that takes us to Pillar #3 which is time is ticking. There is one factor that is the same for you and your competition and it is time. 86,400 seconds in a day. 168 hours in a week. The best coaches I‘ve been around are savages of time. They're detailed with where every minute of every day goes. If you're somebody who is not mapping out your entire 160 hours a week when you meet the person in the competitive arena who is they're probably going to beat you because they have prepared more. We know that separation is in preparation so if you're not putting time on your side time is going to beat you when the time comes to getting the ring with somebody who has maximized their time. Part of knowing time is also knowing your numbers. That is Pillar #4. You can't improve what you can't measure. If you're not measuring your time and knowing where your time is going, if you feel like you don't have enough time in the day it's not that you don't have enough time it's that you don't have enough priorities. You can't improve what you can't measure. Measurement provides motivation. In your program what are those measurements that you're using? When you go through the 12 Pillars of Peak Performance digital training program one pillar a week, when you are in Pillar #4 (which would probably be during week four) you are going to learn about what are the process-based measurements in your sport that when you focus on you give yourself the best chance for success? For example did you realize that in the NFL Super Bowl (at the time of this recording there have been 50 of them) 48 of the first 50 Super Bowl Champions won this one statistic - the turnover margin. Jim Schlossnagle (the baseball coach at TCU who led his team to three straight College World Series appearances) has got an 81% winning percentage when his team simply scores first. If they score in the top of the first, give up three in the bottom of the first, they still have that 81% winning percentage. They know their numbers. They know what they're after. The question is do you and do your athletes? If they don't you're just playing the game versus strategically trying to win the game based off of metrics that you know are proven to give you the best chance for results. Pillar #5 - when we get into week five we are going to talk about sailing the right ships. What does that mean? Well a guy who knows a lot about championships and winning games, Mack Brown, the former football coach at the University of Texas, when I asked him the million dollar question I said “Mack what do you know now you wish you knew when you were getting started coaching?” He said “you've got to sail the right ships” and he kind of looked at me and smiled. I didn't really know what he was talking about so I asked him. He said “you've got to invest in relationships before championships because it's relationships that will lead to championships.” In Pillar #5 we really dive into how to create those great relationships in your programs. We talk about the five major motivators. We talk about different activities that you can do with your teams so you get to know each other better. When you know each other better you are more likely to live Pillar #6 which is that present moment focus where you focus on being where your feet are, right here, right now. The time is always now. The place is always here. If you want to win you've got to focus on what is important now. That is a present moment focus. We'll take you through some different breathing exercises that you can use. I'm sure if you've watched any teams compete that have gone through the 12 Pillars of Peak Performance system you'll see them take a deep breath every snap or every pitch or every possession because the deep breath is what helps to scientifically oxygenate their brain and get you into the present moment with a better focus. Simply by breathing you are increasing your chances for success in that moment. We know that success over the course of a season or over a competition is simply a result of moment to moment to moment awareness and moment to moment to moment execution. Speaking of moment to moment that leads us to Pillar #7 Process Over Outcome. Matt Carpenter (the great all-star third baseman or infielder for the St. Louis Cardinals, former TCU Horned Frog) says that in the game of baseball when you're playing at the major league level you are going to have some slumps but your routine can never slump. Your process can never slump. Nick Saban (arguably the greatest coach of all time, the head football coach at the University of Alabama) always talks about the process over the outcome. You're going to learn about how the process is simply investing into those things that you can control because that is where the greatest return on your investment comes from - maximizing the things that you can control. You can control developing mental toughness. You can control your championship culture. You can control maximizing your time, how you measure performance in relationships, a present moment focus, and a process-based focus over the outcome. You can also control Pillar #8 Your Attitude. We know that in life there are energy givers and energy suckers. What we need is we need more energy takers. We know that your positive energy has got to be stronger than everyone else's negative energy. We know that the attitude you take is a decision you make and your attitude is contagious. The only question is is your attitude worth catching or is it worth avoiding? We know that when we're talking about positive energy there are people that are juiceful and useful and there are people that are juiceless and useless so you've got to BTJ - you've got to bring the juice. We share with you 38 different ways to spike your attitude, to spike your energy, and to bring the juice in your program. You don't have to do all 38 of them but there is a whole buffet there for you to go and choose from. These are 38 exercises that I have used, I have used consistently, and I have seen bring results in programs like yours. Speaking of results we know that in Pillar #9 Everything Happens Twice. I learned that from Skip Bertman, the former baseball coach at LSU who won five national championships in the 90s. I got a chance to sit down with him at LSU and ask him the million dollar question. I said “Coach Bertman, you won five national championships in a decade, you then wanted to go and be a speaker and LSU wouldn't let you because they needed to hire you to be the athletic director to lead the department.” I said “what do you know now you wish you knew when you were just getting started?” He said “everything happens twice, first in your mind then in reality.” We take you specifically through the four steps of mental imagery where we go through the importance of relaxation first and then confidence, conditioning, mental recall where you go back and replay your best performances and then mental rehearsal where we go forward and you see yourself playing the way you want to play in the future. We also outline how to use mental imagery like a football team doing it Friday night in the hotel at the college level before they go play on Saturday. Or a high school team doing it on Friday during class or after school together before they suit up to go play. A baseball team or softball team having audios that players are listening to on the bus on a way to a game. How you can make individual audios with your athletes in five minutes or less using a simple system of the four steps for mental imagery so they have those custom audios on their phone. It doesn't get easier ladies and gentleman. This is the easiest Peak Performance program that has ever been made. The reason why it was designed this way is because my main mission, my Pillar #2, my championship culture, the M of my life, is to educate, empower, and energize others. There are only so many people you can impact when you do it in person so you've got to recreate yourself. We're here for you. This is about helping you to be your best. If you're going to be your best you're going to have to implement Pillar #10 Routines and Habits of Excellence. Why? First we set our habits and then our habits set us. No one ever has or ever will escape the destiny of their decisions and most of your decisions are made by your habits. If you're aware of your routines and aware of your habits you are going to be successful. If you are not aware of those routines and habits they're going to dominate you. Excellence - it's a lifestyle, not an event. Your routines and your habits are going to create your lifestyle. We're going to talk about intentionally setting triggers within the habit loop where we discuss Charles Duhigg and his great book The Power of Habit where we're going to break down how a trigger sets you into a routine and a routine then gives you a reward. And if you have a routine that you don't like, how you can break that by changing and becoming more aware of the triggers in your life and then changing your routine and getting a different reward. But if we're going to do that, if we're going to change those routines, we've got to have Pillar #11. You've got to be able to recognize your signal lights. You've got to have that heightened awareness and you've always got to be in control of yourself because you've got to be in control of yourself before you can control your performance. You've got very little control of what goes on around you but total control of how you choose to respond to it. So recognizing your signal lights. Just like driving a car. You are driving right now listening to this podcast. When you come to a green light it's easy - you go. When you come to a red light you stop. But if you've been driving a car for any time you know you could have driven through a red light before and you're still alive to talk about it. In athletic performance you can drive through red lights - especially when you're more talented - and you can have success. But in a competition where the two teams are even that is like driving through red lights consistently. If you were to drive across the country and go through every red light obviously you're going to crash and burn. We've got to learn to recognize our red lights and most importantly recognize our yellow lights which we are in most of the time. In our yellow lights we either need to speed up or we need to slow down. A lot of mental game coaches are going to say “just slow the game down.” Well shoot, sometimes you've got to speed it up. Just like driving a car. If you get to a yellow light you don't always slow down. Sometimes you punch the gas. It's the same thing in athletics. Most of the time you are going too fast and you've got to slow down but sometimes you've got to pick it up. I've been around teams that have lost games because they were uninspired and they didn't have the juice just as much as I have been around teams that were trying too hard. So how do you recognize where you're at mentally, emotionally, physically? How do you recognize it through your body language, your focus, your self-talk, and various situations that maybe happen during the game or physical feelings that trigger you of whether you are in a green, yellow, or red? Then if you recognize when you're yellow or red you go to Pillar #12 and you Release. You follow the specific three step release of physical action - a physical action, a deep breath, and a verbal trigger to help you release that and then refocus on getting back to the moment. A lot of people say “you've got to flush it, you've got to move on, play the next play.” Well how do you do that? It's not just something you talk about. It's something you have to drill and you have to practice - just like all the fundamentals of your sport - and that is Pillar #12 How You Release and Refocus. We show you numbers of examples of athletes in training, in competition, having a release that they go to and a refocus to help them to stay present. So the 12 Pillars of Peak Performance.
