People suffer because they view life through the lens of stored past experiences, projecting fears and desires onto the future. Because of this, they become trapped in endless cycles of worry, resistance, and fear. Our true nature is the awareness that observes these thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Spiritual growth comes through recognizing ourselves as the witness rather than becoming lost in what we are witnessing. Ultimately, liberation comes not from changing the outside world, but from learning to handle our inner reactions and remaining seated in the awareness that observes all experiences. © Sounds True Inc. WarRoom Battleground EP 1039: RYAN BRIDGE Gives First-Hand Witness Testimony: These Ain't Women And Children Coming Across
In honor of Men's Mental Health Month, we're revisiting an episode we've always been proud of from 2022 with Charlamagne tha God (host of the widely popular radio show, The Breakfast Club, bestselling author, philanthropist) as he discusses his journey to discovering his true self apart from his famous radio persona, how CBT therapy taught him to unlearn, and his positive and frightening encounters with the spirit realm. He opens up about his history with panic attacks, the vigilance he developed while selling drugs, and how anxiety can sometimes be his superpower. Charlamagne details growing up Jehovah's Witness, why he believes God is a woman, and the origins of his dark sense of humor. He explains why he uses his authentic, unapologetic voice to touch on touchy subjects especially around mental health gaps in the Black community, including the intergenerational trauma and institutional racism that can prevent minorities from seeking support. Mayim and Charlamagne consider anxiety around returning to our hometowns and bond over their love for Marvel comics and Judy Blume books.Make your summer wardrobe feel easier. Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
Ryan Kelly left SLED after more than a decade and took a job running internal affairs at the Charleston County Sheriff's Office. He was the person responsible for investigating misconduct allegations against other officers. On June 8, 2026, the sheriff fired him for harassment, unbecoming conduct, and improper procedures. The man who policed the police could not survive scrutiny of his own conduct. At SLED, Kelly was the lead investigator on Alex Murdaugh's staged roadside shooting — the September 2021 incident prosecutors used at trial to argue Murdaugh had a pattern of deception following the murders of his wife Maggie and son Paul. Kelly testified as one of the prosecution's final witnesses, walking the jury through how Murdaugh arranged for Curtis Smith to shoot him so Buster could collect on a life insurance policy.Kelly's termination adds to a growing credibility problem for the original prosecution. SLED's lead murder investigator, David Owen, admitted at trial that he gave inaccurate testimony to the grand jury about blood evidence. Court clerk Becky Hill pleaded guilty to perjury and obstruction of justice. The South Carolina Supreme Court overturned Murdaugh's convictions and ordered a new trial. The first retrial hearing is June 29.Defense attorney Dick Harpootlian told the Post and Courier his team needs to investigate developments that have happened since the original trial. Every name that falls from the prosecution's witness list weakens the foundation the state built the first time around. Maggie and Paul Murdaugh deserve a case that holds up. Whether this prosecution can deliver one is the question heading into the courtroom.Links:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Baker YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/SxbuW9TqEBY Robert Wilson Crozier, 47, a witness who previously testified in the Kouri Richins murder trial, has been arrested following a sting operation by the Utah Internet Crimes Against Children task force. Crozier was apprehended after traveling via public transport to meet what he believed was a 15-year-old girl, but was actually an undercover investigator. He faces multiple felony charges, including enticing a minor and distributing material harmful to a minor, after allegedly sending explicit images and offering to bring methamphetamine and marijuana to the meeting. While being held without bail, Crozier reportedly admitted to the interactions but claimed he did not fully remember them due to being high on methamphetamine, a defense the speaker notes is consistent with his previous legal history. As André deals with the shock of his girlfriend's brutal murder, he reluctantly allows police to question the only witness to the crime: his two-year-old son. When the interviews prove too traumatic and press coverage too intrusive, André flees London with Alex — but finds putting the past behind them is difficult. Meanwhile, using information from the toddler, police home in on a man who shares his violent sexual fantasies with an undercover cop. Detectives are sure they've got Rachel Nickell's killer — even though a similar murder suggests a different suspect. Netflix's “The Witness” is a dramatized version of the infamous 1992 case, and a companion series to the documentary “The Murder of Rachel Nickell.” The show focuses on father and son, as Rachel's unsolved murder adds strain to their relationship. It also follows the detectives' efforts to close the case, even though their assumptions about their lead suspect take them in the wrong direction. OUR SPOILER-FREE REVIEWS OF "THE WITNESS" BEGIN IN THE FINAL NINE MINUTES OF THE EPISODE. In Crime of the Week: Noah-countability. Spiritual awakening begins when a person realizes they are the witness of the mind rather than the mind itself. This awakening evolves as one objectively notices the inner voice and realizes how it creates suffering by resisting reality, fearing painful experiences, and clinging to pleasurable ones. Through witnessing, practicing surrender, and learning to relax through emotional disturbances, one gradually becomes centered, loving, and free to align with the natural flow of life. © Sounds True Inc. The prosecution's case for how five-year-old Harmony Montgomery died on December 7, 2019, depended almost entirely on the testimony of Kayla Montgomery — Adam Montgomery's estranged wife. Kayla served a sentence for lying to investigators about Harmony's whereabouts before she agreed to cooperate with the prosecution. The corroborating evidence — DNA in a ceiling vent, a co-worker's testimony about a restaurant freezer, a friend who witnessed Adam pacing and repeating that he had made a mistake — supported Kayla's account of what happened after Harmony's death. It did not corroborate her testimony about how the child died. The New Hampshire Supreme Court identified this evidentiary disparity as the foundation for its unanimous reversal of the murder conviction. The July 2019 second-degree assault charge, tried alongside the murder, was supported by three independent witnesses who observed documented injuries. The court concluded that trying both charges together created a significant risk the jury relied on the strength of the assault evidence to bridge the gap in the murder case. The trial court's denial of the defense's severance motion was determined to be an unsustainable exercise of discretion.Criminal defense attorney Bob Motta provides analysis of the ruling's legal mechanics, the practical meaning of prejudicial joinder, the unusual procedural posture in which the defense argued both for and against severance at different stages, and the trial court's obligation to independently evaluate the risk of unfair prejudice. Montgomery's convictions for second-degree assault, falsifying physical evidence, witness tampering, and desecrating remains were affirmed. He carries a separate thirty-two-and-a-half-year firearms sentence. Prosecutors have announced their intention to retry the murder charge. Harmony Montgomery's remains have not been recovered.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? An individual working on the Pine Ridge Reservation receives a late-night call during one of the coldest nights in South Dakota history. What begins as a report of a woman sitting alone in the snow turns into a face-to-face encounter with a yellow-eyed figure standing in an open field. In this episode, Keith shares his firsthand sighting from January 2001 along with years of reports gathered across the Pine Ridge Reservation. You'll hear about massive footprints circling homes, terrified dogs hiding under porches, a towering figure peering through residential windows, mysterious activity near sweat lodges, a vehicle collision involving an unknown creature, and stories passed down by tribal members who have lived with these encounters for generations.Keith also takes us to Washington's Quinault Reservation, where a frantic family reported a large creature moving behind their home, leaving behind evidence that stretched from a residential neighborhood to the Queets River. These accounts span decades, multiple reservations, and some of the most active Bigfoot regions in North America. Every story adds another piece to a mystery that continues to leave witnesses searching for answers.Resources:
In John's gospel, Jesus said, I am THE WAY, and no one comes to the FATHER except through Me. If you've seen Me you've seen the FATHER. Believe Me, I am in the FATHER and the FATHER is in Me. And I pray for those who will believe in Me, that they all may be one, as You, FATHER, are in Me, and I in You; THAT THEY MAY HE ONE IN US, that the world may believe that You sent Me. Possibly one of the greatest revelations a believer can comprehend is, “that they may be one in Us” Make no mistake, the “In Christ” life, at the end of the day is THE ETERNAL WITNESS, commissioned by the Master Himself. After all, according to Revelation 3, These things says THE AMEN, THE FAITHFUL and TRUE WITNESS, the Beginning of the creation of God.

Greetings, Lowdowners—Deanna here! This summer, we're doing something a little different. Over the next few weeks, we're opening the gates a bit — giving free subscribers a taste of some of the exclusive stories, video, and behind-the-scenes Hightower that paid subscribers get regularly. If you've been on the fence about upgrading, consider this your invitation to see what you've been missing. To kick things off, I spent a day with Hightower in Austin last month, beer in hand at ABGB, talking with him about fifty-plus years of fighting the b******s. We've got a summer's worth of material to share with you, and I wanted to kick things off with the one that shows what organizing really looks like. Here's the setup: Hightower's Agriculture Commissioner, and he's just put forward the most progressive pesticide regulation in the country. The pesticide lobby is furious. So they get the governor to introduce legislation to gut his authority and make his office appointed instead of elected. Standard playbook—except for what happened next. The hearing room they'd booked was tiny. They had to move it to the House Chamber because Hightower's first witness was Willie Nelson. His second was Barbara Jordan. His third was the chairwoman of the Dallas Republican Women's Organization, who didn't love the idea of pesticides in her kids' food either. Not one committee member would make the motion to pass the bills. They lost without a vote. Here's the part I actually wanted to talk to him about, though: the celebrities weren't the strategy. They were the payoff. Hightower's team spent six months before that hearing building an actual coalition—farmers, farmworkers, consumers, local press. Willie and Barbara Jordan showed up because there was already a movement there to show up for. “They are the punctuation point of a movement that has already been built and is moving,” he told me. “Their presence encourages the movement,” but it doesn't replace it.It's a lesson that's aged exactly zero days in forty years: you don't win by getting a famous person to show up at your rally. You win by doing the unglamorous work first, and then the famous person shows up because there's something worth showing up for. It's your support that enables us to keep bringing the outside in, to keep sharing the ways we can fight together and have fun together. We know times are tighter than ever, and it makes your support mean even more to us. Thank you! Jim Hightower's Lowdown is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. This is a public episode. On this episode of The Hollywood Outsider podcast, we are past the quarter century park, so it's time for reflection on television and its impact on us. Ergo, we debate the most rewatchable TV shows of this century. Welcome back to Not A Bomb! — the podcast where we resurrect cinema's most infamous box office disasters and ask the burning question: is it a bomb? This week, the guys set sail for one of the most ambitious and accomplished films of the 21st century with Peter Weir's Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. Released in 2003, this sprawling naval epic follows Captain Jack Aubrey and the crew of HMS Surprise as they pursue a powerful French warship across the globe during the Napoleonic Wars. Despite earning critical acclaim, multiple Academy Award wins, and a passionate fanbase, the film never quite became the blockbuster franchise many expected. Over the years, however, Master and Commander has steadily grown in reputation, earning recognition as one of the finest historical adventures ever put to screen. But does the film deserve its status as a modern masterpiece? Troy and Brad dive into the incredible craftsmanship behind the production, from its obsessive attention to historical detail to its thunderous sea battles and unforgettable performances from Russell Crowe and Paul Bettany. The hosts also discuss why director Peter Weir remains one of cinema's most underappreciated filmmakers despite a career that includes classics like The Truman Show, Witness, and Picnic at Hanging Rock.Hoist the colors, secure the gun decks, and join the chase as Not A Bomb celebrates a film that proves blockbuster filmmaking can still be intelligent, immersive, and endlessly rewatchable.Want to help support the show? Chrissy joins Tony to share the story of a life marked by the supernatural from the very beginning. Raised as a Jehovah's Witness, she grew up carrying spiritual questions that only deepened after childhood encounters with demonic attacks, an alien abduction, a Bigfoot sighting, and the lingering effects of Santeria in her family line. Her search for truth eventually pulled her into New Age spirituality and Reiki, where what first appeared healing and light-filled slowly became dark, oppressive, and destructive. At her breaking point, Chrissy cried out to God and was met by Jesus in a way that shattered the deception and began her journey into repentance, deliverance, and restoration. This conversation explores spiritual warfare, deception, discernment, and the power of Christ to rescue someone from darkness. Please pray for Tony's wife, Lindsay, as she battles breast cancer. Your prayers make a difference! If you're able, consider helping the Merkel family with medical expenses by donating to Lindsay's GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/b8f76890
In 2005, Wade Robson swore under oath that Michael Jackson never touched him — and helped win the acquittal. In 2026, he's asking a different jury to believe the opposite. Part 2 picks up where Netflix's "The Verdict" stops. Tyrella and Nikita get into what the documentary left out: the $20M+ Jordan Chandler settlement, the Robson and Safechuck lawsuits against Jackson's companies, and the credibility questions on both sides — a memoir he didn't disclose, a Grand Canyon trip his own mother contradicts, and staff who say they saw things they never reported. It's the messy, gray-area aftermath of a not-guilty verdict — and a civil trial set for later this year. This is Part 2. Start with Part 1 for the 2005 trial itself. Content warning: discusses child sexual abuse allegations, grooming testimony, and mental health.

Baker YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/ogTz4xNUiX0 The Karen Read wrongful death case is currently marked by significant procedural conflict and judicial micromanagement, with the court issuing several orders to strictly regulate filings, such as striking documents lacking certificates of service and mandating specific formats for hyperlinks and media. A central dispute involves a motion to compel Colin Albert, a non-party witness, to attend a deposition and produce documents related to the night of John O'Keefe's death. Read's defense team alleges "gamesmanship" by opposing counsel, claiming they surreptitiously rescheduled Albert's deposition to a date when Read's attorneys were unavailable while simultaneously refusing to provide requested communications. Albert's legal representation counters that the subpoena is overbroad, lacks relevance to the central issue of Read's liability, and that the defense originally canceled the scheduled deposition. In this episode, we hear from Morgan, a 28-year-old third-generation former Jehovah's Witness who describes his upbringing as part of the "weak sheep"—a family that believed the doctrine but often struggled with the rigid spiritual routine. Morgan opens up about a childhood defined by a pervasive fear of God, whom he viewed not as a loving father, but as a "homicidal maniac" prone to global destruction. He details the psychological toll of leading a double life as a teenager—selling pot while simultaneously knocking on doors for the ministry—and the "Zoro" highlighting technique he used to fake a spiritual routine he never truly felt. The narrative shifts to Morgan's early adulthood, marked by a high-pressure marriage at 19 and a subsequent mental breakdown that was met with institutional bullying rather than empathy from congregation elders. Morgan shares the chilling details of the "assassination letter" sent by his former congregation, which weaponized his medical information regarding autism to sabotage his reputation in a new city. Ultimately, it was a secular podcast about spiritual deconstruction that provided the mirror he needed to see through the "scam". Morgan's story is one of incredible resilience, culminating in a midnight escape with only a backpack and the eventual liberation of all three siblings from the organization. Key Takeaways The "Assassination Letter": Morgan reveals how elders weaponized his personal medical diagnosis of autism, including it in a formal "letter of non-recommendation" to ensure he was viewed as a "problem" by his new congregation. The Ear Biscuits Catalyst: In a unique "waking up" moment, Morgan realized he was in a cult while listening to the Ear Biscuits podcast (by YouTubers Rhett and Link), finding that their descriptions of "false religion" perfectly mirrored his own experiences within the "True Religion". Performance vs. Mental Health: When Morgan suffered a mental breakdown at 19, the elders' response was to "kick the crap" out of him emotionally, treating his suicidal ideation as a lack of respect for God rather than a medical crisis. The "Zoro" Technique: To survive the constant scrutiny of a performance-based community, Morgan mastered "performative nonsense," such as highlighting his study materials at random to appear prepared for meetings he was mentally checked out of. Generational Liberation: Despite being told the "world" would chew him up and spit him out, Morgan's exit was supported by "worldly" friends and paved the way for his younger brother to also leave, effectively "changing the family tree". Direct Quotes "I view God as a scary being… I guess I just always had this feeling that I would never match up to the standards". "They lied to us and they did it with smiles on their faces and they had the hands out for their for our money. Like this was a scam". "I left with a backpack, no money, no possessions… The grass is greener on the other side. It's you told your whole life that it wasn't, but… the grass is greener". The 10 Commandments E12 — The common summary of the 9th Commandment is “Do not lie,” a generic prohibition against all kinds of fibs. But the commandment actually reads “Do not bear false witness,” drawing attention to a very specific kind of lying in a communal, legal setting. Many of the other commandments are more general. So why does the 9th Commandment zoom in on truth telling in public, legal settings? In this episode, Jon and Tim explore the 9th Commandment, discovering its underlying value of upholding truth and justice in defense of the most vulnerable in society.
