Join me, Dr. Andrea Moore, on this episode of the Unweaving Chronic Pain Podcast as we confront the frustrations many face on their healing journey. We'll walk through why your inner child work might feel stagnant and how to align your goals to make your practice more effective. Inner parenting can be a delicate balance, and understanding its impact on emotional well-being is crucial. We'll discuss how isolated incidents of neglect are less likely to cause lasting trauma unless they become a pattern, alleviating some of the pressure parents often feel. Learn how to build resilience in your kids while avoiding the emotional toll of undue responsibility. True healing begins when the adult self takes charge. We'll explore why approaching inner child work from a regulated, mature perspective is essential, and how integrating the adult self prevents common pitfalls like spiritual bypassing. And finally, discover how personal growth and taking responsibility for your adult self can lead to joy, fulfillment, and a life free from chronic pain and anxiety. “Sometimes taking care of yourself means not doing all the things.” When you have chronic pain, it's easy for self-care to become a job where you have to do all of these things, or else you haven't taken care of yourself. But self-care should nourish you and fill your cup; it shouldn't feel like a burden. Healing requires us to develop a toolbox of techniques that work for our individual needs, and one of the biggest game-changers on the journey to getting better is getting in tune with the right energy for approaching our healing. Today, Tami is joined by Dr. Andrea Moore to explore how self-care can turn into self-sabotage and why focusing too much on eliminating pain can, in fact, amplify it. Dr. Andrea has her own chronic pain story, and she now helps those suffering from chronic pain find harmony and safety within their bodies. If you find yourself constantly chasing new wellness trends or ticking off an endless list of self-care rituals, this episode is for you. In this conversation, Tami and Dr. Andrea discuss Dr. Andrea's chronic pain story and journey to finding relief, potential pitfalls of self-care and healing practices, the frantic energy that can come with pursuing treatment after treatment, finding balance when pursuing wellness, balancing self-care and living life, recognizing that self-care should feel nourishing and not burdensome, the vicious cycle of pain, physiological changes that happen when you experience chronic pain, the power of getting help, the concepts of body harmony and respect, redefining feeling safe in your body, accepting the unpredictability of life, the symbolism of cherry blossoms and Tami's connection to them as a symbol, our tendency to repress and judge emotions, understanding what nervous system regulation really means, creating a balanced approach to emotional healing work, getting better at doing hard things, allowing yourself to take a step back and accept your current reality, building your capacity for intense emotions, the role of self-compassion in taking accountability, playfully engaging with your emotions, building trust and connection with your body, why we need individualized self-care strategies, limitation sof group work and when one-on-one time is needed, Dr. Andrea's invitation to take a moment to pause and self-reflect, and more. If you find yourself stressing that you can't do everything you need to do instead of being excited about living your life, that's a good sign that it's time to seek support. Andrea Moore is the Chief Digital Officer at NEST New York, a fast-growing, leading fragrance lifestyle brand. As a C-suite executive and omnichannel leader, she has experience launching, building, and scaling digital businesses to $100 million. Andrea is also an angel investor, an advisory board member at ShopTalk, and an Adjunct Professor at FIT. In this episode… During the pandemic, brick-and-mortar brands began shifting to digital, with pandemic-born brands launching DTC exclusively. In the pandemic's aftermath, DTC has become less profitable, so brands must integrate online and in-store efforts to survive. How can you build a robust omnichannel strategy? As omnichannel brand builder Andrea Moore says, it doesn't matter where your consumers shop as long as they purchase from you and not your competitors. You can establish storefronts on Walmart, Amazon, and Target's online marketplaces as well as your personal website and brick-and-mortar shop. By targeting your customers where they shop, you can dominate the market. Omnichannel strategies often require a significant amount of tech tools to execute effectively, and it can be challenging to determine the precise fit for your tech stack. Andrea advises assessing your business goals, go-to-market strategy, and margin structures to capitalize on profitable growth opportunities. Join Aaron Conant in today's episode of The Digital Deep Dive as he sits down with Andrea Moore, the Chief Digital Officer at NEST New York, to discuss omnichannel brand strategies. Andrea shares how brands should consider data when utilizing AI, the digital landscape's most urgent issues, and how AI will impact leadership roles.

This significant life change was spurred by her passion for running but also creating a lifestyle in pursuit of her happiness. The Role of Community and Team: Reflecting on the importance of support in endurance sports, Andrea credits her success to her crew, pacers, and the broader running community who have been instrumental in her journey. Nutritional Strategies and Metabolic Health: A significant part of Andrea's discussion revolves around her dietary approach, particularly how she has optimized her fat metabolism to enhance performance and recovery in ultra endurance races. Starting with her first two bites of steak after being a vegetarian to learning about Vespa and OFM, Andrea shares her nutritional evolution which will fuel her big, scary challenge. Personal Growth and Resilience: Andrea shares deeply personal aspects of her life, including the impact of her mother's death and how it prompted a reevaluation of her life's direction. Her story is a powerful testament to the strength required to make profound life changes. **Conclusion:** Andrea Moore's story is a compelling narrative of personal growth, strength and resilience. But as Andrea acknowledges, she is not alone; community, friends, partners, crew and pacers all help support her relentless pursuit of one's passions no matter the odds. In this episode, Lyndsay Soprano and Dr. Andrea Moore, PT, DPT, OCS, NTP discuss her journey from chronic pain and post-concussive syndrome after a car accident to anxiety and ADHD sharing her journey to where she is today. She lived in so much pain for her whole life, she thought that this was just normal!! It wasn't debilitating but aggravating. As she went down a painful journey, she found out that living life in pain is actually NOT normal!! How sad that we feel that we must live with pain, and it has been normalized. We talk about living in fear and safety and how to desensitize our central nervous system. By focusing on somatic part of the nervous system we can start to gain a wealth of knowledge about our bodies, minds, and souls. Somatic = relating to the body Somatic work doesn't have a universal definition as the above definition is a bit vague. It is working on what your nervous system is holding onto like our traumas. Massive amounts of traumas that have added up over time.If we are only looking at the mind then we neglect the body. And when we are only looking at the physical body, then we are neglecting the mind. And when we look at both of those but never look at our thoughts and our mindset and what is the nervous system is actually holding, then our pain continues. We speak about one of the most important things in life—shifting your mindset. How different parts of your body and nervous system are holding onto past traumas.Sometimes TOO much mindfulness work can actually FLARE the pain because we are getting a little too intense and deep with the work that we actually cause ourself more issues. It's a delicate balance indeed. Both Dr. Moore and Lyndsay have suffered concussions. Multiple concussions. And one of the most scary things about concussions is if you experience post-concussion syndrome you can lose a part of you for a short or long length of time that affects your ability to focus and manage simple tasks and obstacles with grace.A good infographic on post-concussion syndrome is below:https://images.app.goo.gl/FBQ3UUw8ZF81qVkX7Once you have started to experience any or all of the above symptoms, this pain starts to affect your intelligence with this post-concussive response. And that is one of the most fearful part of post-concussion syndrome. The feeling like you are losing your mind! What follows is more fear. When you live in pain you live in fear that you might never recover and “this is it!?” Is your daily mantra. And what follows sometimes is shame and guilt. When you have been through significant traumas, you tend to blame yourself which then leads to that shame and guilt. Which leads to the narrative of “I am damaged and broken and need to be fixed.”We aren't broken. We are just cracked a little bit! And for empaths, we also take on other people's pain and emotions which further breaks our souls adding to this fear and turmoil. It's a vicious cycle and one that affects not only ourselves, but our loved ones as well. When Lyndsay asked her sweetie about chronic pain and how it affects him, he says, “my chronic pain is yours!” That makes her so incredibly sad. Chronic pain essentially dissociates ourselves from our bodies. We end up living in your thoughts, not in the body itself. And we are disconnected from our bodies which means we are disconnected from the soul of our body. We need to listen to our true authentic self and listen to it in a different way. Authentic wisdom. Listen to it. It will sound different than your current narrative. And accessing our authentic wisdom is key. And accessing that wisdom can be interpreted as a threat to the brain and doesn't want to connect. Fear. Safety. Trauma. The vicious cycle continues. We carry all of this weight from ancestral trauma, both men and women. We touch on how this type of trauma is carried through our DNA and our past heritage and patriarchy and how this leads to more chronic pain. It's a conversation that you must listen to.You can find Dr. Andrea Moore online:Instagram: HTTPS://drandreamooreFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/drandreamooreWebsite: www.drandreamoore.comPodcast: Unweaving Chronic Pain (on all platforms) – links to spotify/itunes found at www.drandreamoore.com/podcast

In this heartfelt episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Karen, an expert on healing difficult mother-daughter relationships. As someone who has personally navigated these complex dynamics with her own mother, Karen shares her journey from estrangement to reconciliation, and the profound insights she's gained along the way. Listen in as we discuss the importance of understanding the cultural influences of patriarchy and misogyny on our relationships, and how to create intentional, healthy boundaries with our mothers. Together, we explore the challenges of navigating estrangement and repair in relationships, and how to make decisions from a place of self-respect and intention. Karen sheds light on the importance of bringing humanity and understanding into the decision-making process, as well as coping with the emotions that arise when making these difficult choices. We also discuss how our nervous systems can play a role in our decisions, and how to set boundaries with compassion, love, and respect. Finally, we dive into the complexities of chronic pain and how it can be affected by our relationships with our mothers. Karen offers valuable advice on how to relate to pain & her body in a different way. She also shares her thoughts on how exercising can be approached from a place of self-care rather than self-punishment. This episode is a must-listen for anyone seeking to create a healthier, more fulfilling relationship with their mother or daughter. Karen C.L.
