NTR t.a.v. Lesbische Liga Podcast Wim T. Elle spoke to Blondshell about her latest album, 'If You Asked For A Picture.' They spoke about the development of the album during her years spent on tour and the interpersonal relationships that came from it. She has some very wise words for us, so listen up!
Our guest today is the phenomenal indie rock songwriter Blondshell. The project of Los Angeles-based artist Sabrina Teitelbaum first made waves in 2023 with her self-titled debut, which earned critical acclaim worldwide for its raw, intense guitar work and sharp lyricism. Today, she returns with her second album If You Asked for a Picture, a bold and emotionally layered evolution that explores themes of control, self-awareness, and growth. In this episode, we chat with Sabrina about the making of the new record, reuniting with producer Yves Rothman, and her desire to experiment with traditionally masculine sonic textures. We also dive into how she fell in love with songwriting, her memories of Laneway Festival, and the possibility of returning to Australia soon.Blondshell: Instagram / Spotify Purchase If You Asked for a Picture and find Blondshell tour dates hereVisit our official website here and follow us across our socials.

It is my 500th episode, so I needed a special guest!Get her name right, people. It's Lizzie EsauAfter a few false starts and calendar chaos, I finally sit down with rising alt-rock talent Lizzie Esau. But trust us, this one was worth the wait.Fresh from Newcastle and bringing her unique blend of raw honesty, fuzzed-up guitars and heartfelt lyrics,Lizzie chats to me about everything from songwriting at midnight to revisiting childhood creativity... and even the case for more moody Christmas songs (we're here for it).
I thought it would be fun to do a year-in-review of the music of 2024 with my friend James McCrae. Neither of us are music experts, but we're constantly sharing music with each other. James first came on the show in 2020, when we did a similar review of the music from that wild quarantine year when artists weren't touring and we all missed live shows. Fast forward to 2024, and we chat about what we've noticed over the last five years, including the changes in the music industry, trends we've seen, and of course, what we've had on repeat.James, a Bob Dylan super-fan, talks about his evolving tastes, new genres, and how pop and hyperpop have influenced his music choices. He also shares his insights on the current music scene and the role of streaming, social media, and live performances.James is an author, poet, artist, and founder of Sunflower Club, a global community dedicated to conscious creativity. He's the author of several books, including The Art of You, which we discussed last year. Happy New Year, Indieventurers! It's 2025 and there are so many flavours of existential dread tied up in that particular statement that we have no choice but to distract ourselves for at least a couple of hours a day with lovely video games – or (we hope you make this choice, at least) with podcasts about video games! While there's a lot of uncertainty ahead, one thing we can be reasonably sure of is that there are some absolute bangers due to make their debut on the indie gaming scene this year – although as ever, we 100% support devs who put their own wellbeing first, which is why there's absolutely no hard feelings if any of the games on this list get pushed into 2026 and beyond. Settle in as we rhapsodise on the upcoming merits of Blue Prince, Citizen Sleeper 2, Demonschool, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, Metropolis 1998, Monster Prom 4: Monster Con, Morsels, Paralives (complete with bonus chat about fellow upcoming indie life sims Vivaland and Alterlife), Promise Mascot Agency, Skate Story, Strange Antiquities, Streets of Rogue 2, Tiny Bookshop, and Wanderstop. Because it's our first episode after our long Christmas break, everyone brought along a double helping of hyperfixations this week! Rebecca recommends going into zombie horror-comedy movie One Cut of the Dead knowing as little as possible, and going into Waterstone's book of the year Butter by Asako Yuzuki knowing a bit more than what's printed on the cover. Rachel is, naturally, hooked on The Traitors Season 3 (but not The Traitors Australia Season 2, thankyouverymuch) and the second season of Severance. Liam recommends checking out indie rocker Blondshell if you haven't already, and also thinks that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle might be the greatest triple-A game in years – which draws out a surprising consensus across the whole group. Our music was written and performed by Ollie Newbury! Find him on Instagram at @newbsmusic. Meanwhile, you can find us at indieventurepodcast.co.uk or wherever you listen to podcasts, and don't forget that you can now join our dedicated Discord too!

Today's Song of the Day is “What's Fair” by Blondshell, out now.Song of the Day is supported by Summit Brewing Company.
Last year (2023) was a banner one for Sabrina Teitelbaum, aka Blondshell. Her self-titled debut LP gained new fans and received critical acclaim — one of the songs from that album, “Joiner,” even earned a coveted spot on Barack Obama’s year-end playlist. Her band has been touring extensively, and this summer found them trotting around the globe on the festival circuit while putting together a sophomore album. “What’s Fair” is a new pop-punk song that’s been lighting up their live sets as it grapples with the complexities of mother/daughter relationships.

Big Fat Five: A Podcast Financially Supported by Big Fat Snare Drum
This week's guest is Bosh Rothman. Bosh is an LA based drummer who's played with Kills Birds, Living Things, Blondshell, Kim Gordon, Courtney Love, Marissa Nadler, Alison Mosshart and many more. I was first turned on to Bosh when I subbed for the main live drummer of the band, Blondshell this past January / February. And, while Bosh doesn't normally tour with Blondshell, he recorded the drums on her debut record and it was really fun to learn his parts. The record kicks ass btw. Ever since that tour, I've wanted to get Bosh on the show so we finally made it happen…and I'm grateful we did! I hope you enjoy the 5 records that shaped Bosh Rothman into the drummer he is today. Cheers! SUBMIT YOUR LISTENER PICKS HERE BOSH's BIG FAT FIVE

Blondeshell is a musician from New York, currently living in Los Angeles. Her new record comes out on April 7th. We chat about an update on the gym-food-heater-upper, Chris went to Hatchet Hall, I found a Twitch stream that Chris would actually watch, vocal practice is like doing a squat with your mouth, LA neighbors, insomnia treatments, taking an Uber over to Larchmont to grab some lunch, why we find assholes so attractive, socializing while sober, the battle of drugs being bad and cool, the 27 club, the different ways a man can wear a cap and what that says about them, she got the On Runnings in seafoam, and we hear her top three prescription pills. instagram.com/blondshell twitter.com/donetodeath twitter.com/themjeans
