If you practice The Miracle Morning (and specifically the S.A.V.E.R.S.), I think you’re going to love today’s *special* episode of the Achieve Your Goals podcast! Today, we’re doing something a little different. Instead of our usual podcast format—where our guests talk about how they achieved their goals and how to get more done—I’m giving the floor over to my good friend and Chief Miracle Worker, Chip Franks, for a training and tutorial to help you get the most out of your Miracle Morning “Scribing” (aka “Journaling”) practice. Among many things, Chip has one of the most effective Scribing practice I’ve ever seen. Though he goes through almost 250 pages in his journal every month, he rarely spends more than about 15 minutes a day scribing. He believes that it is the most important personal-development practice that exists and a powerful way to turn ideas into action. Chip also journals to deal with anxiety and overwhelm, have a conversation with himself, and become an objective third-party with himself when he needs it the most. Today, Chip joins the podcast to share 10 techniques to optimize your Scribing practice. I’d love to see you commit to giving the ones that make sense for you a try - and see how scribing can change your life for the better.   Get The Full Show Notes To get full access to today's show notes, including audio, transcript, and links to all the resources mentioned, visit HalElrod.com/289  You can also find a special version of the episode on the PremoCast app (iPhone only): http://blog.premocast.com/episode-289   Subscribe, Rate & Review I would love if you could subscribe to the podcast and leave an honest rating & review. Brian discusses his reasons for pursuing higher education. Does your career necessitate a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree? Debt is a big point of contention for many millennials going to college today. Protect your GPA by all means necessary! FAFSA is your best friend. Know what you are in school for. Make a plan and execute. Take advantage of leadership roles in campus life, internships, and mentoring. But don’t miss the opportunity to relax, explore different areas of yourself, and enjoy your undergraduate experience. As Tim Ferriss once said, “Being busy is a form of laziness”. For those of us who don’t prioritize things in their lives, it is easy to get overwhelmed with everything that life brings our way. College is the same way. To succeed in college, I’ve found that I thought about time. Time ownership refers to controlling one’s schedule. Time management refers to managing the time left over after others have had the chance to dictate your schedule. Why should I go to College? Derek Newton, Forbes contributor (tweets linked below) “ … a college graduate is 177 times more likely than a high school graduate to earn $4 million or more throughout their lifetime.” The typical college graduate will earn roughly $900,000 more than the typical high school graduate over their working lives. Keys to Thriving in College Be very forthright about finding avenues of Income. How can i get as much money as You can to pay for school. FAFSA, grants, scholarships, fellowships, work study, research positions, and the old fashioned get a job! Don’t be comfortable. If getting a loan isn’t essential for school fees, don’t do it. Securing a loan to buy clothes or shoes will kick you in the butt later. Don’t take on debt for no reason. Corrections I did have an individual, an architecture professor, who taught at Cal Poly Pomona and extended her architectural insights to me. Her advice, take a leave of absence for a year and come back next year. Work and live then I’ll be more than equipped to graduate. Truthfully, I was too scared to take that chance. Applied to Columbia University for the MPA in Development Practice program. I didn’t get in.

March 4, 2015 The relationship between religious proselytism and development is sharply contested. International covenants recognize that religious freedom includes rights to personal religious conversion and public religious witness. But critics claim that proselytism can violate the rights of affected communities to maintain their traditions and can sow division in fragile societies. There is wide agreement that development aid should never be conditioned on religious conversion. Disagreement centers on whether, when, and how a vigorous religious marketplace, including the freedom to proselytize, fosters social dynamism and development or, on the contrary, social division that undercuts development goals. Over the course of the day-long dialogue, three panels of distinguished religious leaders, development practitioners, and scholars will examine these issues from diverse perspectives. A keynote conversation will feature Pastor Rick Warren, founder of Saddleback Church, and Ruth Mes

ABSTRACT: Drawing on four decades of practical and teaching experience worldwide, Nabeel Hamdi offers fresh insight into the complexities faced by practitioners when working to improve the lives and livelihoods of people the world over. The presentation draws from Hamdiʼs upcoming book of the same title, showing how these complexities are a context for, rather than a barrier to, creative work. Hamdi critiques the ʻsingle visionʼ top down approach to design and planning. The presentation will demonstrate through examples and profiles of successful professional practice drawn from across Europe, the US, Africa, Latin America and post- tsunami Asia, how good policy can derive from good practices when ʻreasoned backwards,ʼ as well as how plans can emerge in practice without a preponderance of planning. Reasoning backwards is shown to be a more effective and inclusive way of planning forwards with significant improvements to the quality of process and place. BIOGRAPHY: Nabeel Hamdi qualified as an architect at the Architectural Association in London in 1968. He worked for the Grater London Council between 1969 and 1978, where his award-winning housing projects established his reputation in participatory design and planning. From 1981-1990 he was Associate Professor of Housing at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he was later awarded a Ford International Career Development Professorship. In 1997 Nabeel won the UN-Habitat Scroll of Honour for his work on Community Action Planning, and the Masters course in Development Practice that he founded at Oxford Brookes University in 1992 was awarded the Queenʼs Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education in 2001.
