Gov. Tim Walz wants the Trump administration to release records that he says could show he and the state of Minnesota have been targeted for political retribution. Walz filed 16 records requests under the Freedom of Information Act. Earlier this week, a federal judge threw out Justice Department subpoenas for records from the offices of Walz and other Minnesota Democrats, calling them meritless and ethically questionable.Minnesota hospitality businesses are doing worse than they were last year, according to a new survey from the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. The Minneapolis Fed surveyed 120 hospitality companies about business conditions during the first quarter of 2026. A majority said profits are down compared to last year. Many businesses cited inflation, Minnesota's new paid family leave policy and increased employee absences as challenges.A Minneapolis woman who was dragged from her car by federal agents during the immigration surge has filed a civil rights complaint with the Department of Homeland Security. The complaint alleges Aliyah Rahman was assaulted, wrongfully arrested and subjected to inhumane treatment by federal agents. Her attorney says agents violated Rahman's constitutional rights and disability protections. The complaint calls on DHS to investigate the incident and implement broader policy changes.A woman charged with assaulting an FBI agent in Minneapolis last year pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court to a misdemeanor charge. Isabel Lopez was sentenced to time served and a $25 fine. Lopez was among about 100 people who protested what they believed was an immigration raid at a Lake Street restaurant a year ago. Prosecutors agreed to drop the original felony indictment if Lopez pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge.Minnesotans should be prepared for potentially dangerous heat and humidity later this weekend and into next week. MPR meteorologist Sven Sundgaard says what could be the hottest air mass in the region in several years starts to arrive this weekend. Highs could reach the 90s by early next week, with heat indices possibly reaching triple digits. Before then, Minnesota will see a few more days of quiet and mild weather.
Today's Headlines: Mitch McConnell has been hospitalized for over a week with his office offering nothing beyond "he's still working closely with staff." Meanwhile, JD Vance called the Iran talks a "classic Trump deal" while the administration temporarily lifted oil sanctions letting Iran sell oil in US dollars for the first time since 2018 — when Trump blew up the original deal — with Iran saying they made "no new commitments," the Strait of Hormuz status depends entirely on who you ask, and Vance gets visibly snubbed by Iran's foreign minister during a photo op. Trump responded to New York Times war coverage by threatening to add their reporting to his $15 billion defamation lawsuit and calling them treasonous, which is bold from someone whose last Times lawsuit was thrown out within days. The administration is threatening to withhold a billion dollars in homeland security funding from states unless they overhaul their election laws — paper ballots, federal audits, administration-preferred voter databases, all at state expense — which is unconstitutional and headed straight for court, while a George W. Bush-appointed judge blocked DOJ subpoenas targeting Tim Walz and other Minnesota officials, finding "overwhelming" evidence they were issued purely to harass political opponents. Jeanine Pirro is threatening to prosecute anyone caught "vandalizing" the reflecting pool, at least five people have been federally cited for being near it, and Trump claimed someone made a 350-foot gash in a pool he simultaneously described as uncuttable. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer resigned — the country's seventh prime minister in ten years, right on Brexit's tenth anniversary — with Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham as frontrunner to replace him, while researchers found Elon Musk played an "instrumental" role in inciting Belfast's anti-immigrant riots by generating over half of 115 million views driving the unrest, prompting England and Wales's attorney general to ban his office from using X. This was not a normal bad week. This was the week a bunch of people who spent years pretending the emperor had clothes all looked up at the same time and went, oh no.We open where the country opened: a rotting reflecting pool. A no-bid, $14.5 million renovation that bloomed bright green algae and peeled its custom "American Flag Blue" paint into the water, fixed with hydrogen peroxide that made it worse, then sold to the public as sabotage. Box cutters. A 350-foot slit that grew sixty feet mid-sentence. Five arrests over a pond. From there it only gets worse for him. Three federal courts ruled against this administration in a single Monday, on voter data, food assistance, and the retaliatory subpoenas aimed at Tim Walz, where a Bush-appointed judge used the word "risible." JD Vance flew to Switzerland to sell an Iran deal and got fact-checked and snubbed by Iran in real time. An Israeli cabinet minister told a country of six million to burn, and a platform called it a public service. Tucker Carlson quit the Republican Party. The Senate openly turned on him. Ken Paxton discovered he loves IVF the same week his own party voted to ban it. And Tulsi Gabbard cleaned out her desk by lobbing one more pre-pardoned Fauci grenade on the way out.Every story this week is the same story. Botch something, refuse to own it, invent an enemy, point the state at whoever's standing closest. We connect the dots, name the systems, and separate what's confirmed from what's spin.I'm Robin. Walz and Frey
David Waldman shakes out some stories to clear the way for tomorrow's primary news. Donald K. Trump draws a strict line on pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth. A strict line around himself. Donald might have a fat friend or two that take weight loss drugs, but everyone knows that he wouldn't be that one 79-year-old man Eli Lilly gave compassionate use access for a still unapproved weight loss drug. Trump is in better shape than any president, ever. Just look at him. 22 medical specialists – Twenty-two! – can't be wrong. A judge quashed subpoenas aimed at harassing Tim Walz, Keith Ellison, Jacob Frey and Kaohly Her in Minnesota. Meanwhile, Trump squashed an investigation into his clemency grant to a convicted fraudster. Trump's SAVE voter surveillance and harassment program has been deemed illegal. Sometimes you just have to force-feed Trump his tacos. Over at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts, the Donald F. Trump memorial tarpaulin of shame is still on display. Motions are being filed to remove it, even though it isn't really hiding anything. Peter Thiel secret society members Corey Booker, Ted Cruz, Elon Musk and others have been revealed. Some societies aren't as secret. Jasmine Crockett and James Talarico are not yet on the same team.
DOCKET ALERTS: Maryland became the ninth state to beat back a lawsuit from the DOJ's Civil Division seeking to seize its full, unredacted voter rolls. In Massachusetts, a judge allowed states to proceed with a lawsuit to block an executive order requiring DHS to maintain a master list of voters and barring USPS from delivering mail-in ballots from anyone on the list. DOOFUS OF THE DAY: Sixth Circuit Judge Amul Thapar, who was featured in a Bloomberg Law story about judges embarrassing themselves by trying to get nominated for SCOTUS if/when Justice Alito announces his retirement in July. Thapar, who is 56, started a Substack to talk about how his fitness regimen means he's really only 43. MAIN SHOW: In Minnesota, Chief Judge Patrick Schiltz quashed DOJ subpoenas for Gov. Tim Walz, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, AG Keith Ellison, and several other state officials. The court held that the subpoenas were plainly levied for an improper purpose, namely to punish state officials for refusing to cooperate with Trump's immigration raids. That's a violation of the Tenth Amendment. Also in Minnesota, charges were dropped against yet another protester from the winter immigration surge into the Twin Cities. ICE/CBP conduct here was egregious, and the US Attorney claims to be investigating. Since the satirical newspaper The Onion is planning to launch an InfoWars parody on July 2, we revisit all of the bankruptcy court shenanigans to date and talk about what might happen next in court. Finally, we check in on the Trump insurrectionist slush fund and the administration's continued refusal to actually promise in court, under oath, that it won't resurrect the idea. In the Eastern District of Virginia, the administration simply refused to file declarations ordered by the presiding judge. And in the original lawsuit Trump filed against the IRS in Florida, 35 eminent judges filed their reply brief urging the judge to reopen the case and inspect the settlement. In the Subscriber Bonus, we break down a lawsuit filed by the Ford Motor Company against a law firm in California that has an… aggressive approach to trying to get its attorneys' fees reimbursed for representing consumers who get their cars replaced under the state's "Lemon Law." War Room UK PM Starmer Resigns, Female Cop Appears to Shoot Civilian in Montreal Amid Shootout With Armed Suspect… PLUS, Judge Blocks DOJ Subpoenas Aimed at Tim Walz & Israeli Officials Suggest Bombing Beirut Amid Trump Peace Deal Negotiations
A federal judge has tossed out U.S. Justice Department subpoenas targeting Gov. Tim Walz and other state and local leaders. Judge Patrick Schiltz called the subpoenas an “unlawful and unethical use of the grand jury process.” The subpoenas were part of a criminal investigation into whether state officials were obstructing federal immigration enforcement. Schiltz wrote that evidence the subpoenas were issued for unlawful reasons was “overwhelming,” and said the investigation appeared designed to harass political opponents and pressure them into taking federal action.A new study recommends Minnesota take action to prevent groundwater contaminated with PFAS from spreading in the Twin Cities east metro. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency report recommends pumping groundwater and removing PFAS. The treated water would then be sent to cities for drinking, or returned to the underground aquifer. Decades ago, 3M disposed of chemical waste containing PFAS at several sites in the east metro, where the chemicals leaked into the environment.About 75,000 spectators are expected to attend the Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota this week. Competition began Monday at the University of Minnesota and the National Sports Center in Blaine. The games bring together more than 3,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities from all 50 states. Events are free to attend, and ESPN will stream some competitions on ESPN Plus.
AP's Lisa Dwyer reports that a Federal judge is halting an effort to subpoena Governor Walz in immigration enforcement probe.

A U.S. district judge has thrown out six grand jury subpoenas issued by the Trump Justice Department against top Minnesota officials, including Gov. Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison. In a strongly worded opinion, the judge said the subpoenas were issued to harass political opponents and lacked a legitimate investigative purpose. The primary election is August 11th, Flanagan says the turnaround to the November election can be difficult for candidates. Along the way he also played four seasons in Switzerland. Shortly after his retirement he became an assistant coach with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He would go on to serve as head coach for three years at the high school that both a son and daughter of his played for. Present day he is a game analyst on Fan Duel Sports Network for Minnesota Wild games.

Billy Binion (reporter at Reason Magazine) joins host Ron Steslow to examine how democratic governments are redefining speech as a harm to be managed and who pays the price when they do. They begin with the White House's negotiation with Senator Marsha Blackburn, a deal that would trade federal preemption of state AI laws for the Kids Online Safety Act, the No Fakes Act, and federal age verification, and whether we are “one bad deal away from the era of online government censorship.” Next, Britain's thousands of arrests each year for online posts, its mandate that Apple and Google build content scanning into every device, and Signal's vow to exit the market before that happens. Then they turn to the killing of Henry Novak, whose dying words police discounted in deference to his killer's fabricated racism accusation. Finally, they unpack Minnesota's multibillion-dollar benefits fraud—JD Vance's referral of Tim Walz and Keith Ellison, why warnings went unheeded, and the citizen journalist who made the scandal impossible to ignore. In Politicology+, they discuss the bipartisan push to force UFO disclosure and the legal fight underneath it: whether the government should use eminent domain to seize allegedly recovered non-human technology from private contractors, and whether contractor employees who come forward deserve whistleblower protections. Welcome to Last Call, a look at the biggest stories Jim and Greg covered over the past week on the 3 Martini Lunch. This week they discuss Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico's reversal on transgender surgeries for minors, a congressional report showing Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz repeatedly failed or refused to stop rampant fraud, Social Security running dry by 2032, and the Congressional Baseball Game.First, Jim and Greg examine the hypocrisy of James Talarico, who now suddenly opposes gender reassignment surgery for minors. In 2023, he argued against a bill that would ban “medical and surgical procedures” for minors with gender dysphoria. They also address recent reports that Talarico dated two of his staffers.Next, they review a House Oversight Committee report that alleges Gov. Walz and his administration ignored repeated warnings from whistleblowers about massive fraud and, in some cases, retaliated against those who raised concerns. Next, they cover the looming threat of the Social Security trust fund running dry by 2032. Despite a national debt of $39 trillion, cuts to entitlements remain deeply unpopular with voters, preventing any political solution. But soon politicians will not have a choice. Finally, they highlight Wednesday's Congressional Baseball Game, and how the media rarely mention the 2017 shooting at a GOP practice that nearly killed Rep. Steve Scalise. Please visit our great sponsors:IncogniTake control of your digital footprint today. The Tara Show: The Minnesota Police State — Whistleblower Terror and Tim Walz's $9 Billion Fraud Crisis Host Tara reacts to a explosive House Oversight Committee report exposing systemic fraud and shocking state-level intimidation tactics in Minnesota. With Vice President JD Vance making a formal criminal referral to the Department of Justice, the report highlights the testimony of nearly 30 whistleblowers, including 20-year state employee Fay Bernstein, who faced severe workplace retaliation after raising red flags over billions in fraudulent spending. Tara breaks down the chilling allegations that state Department of Human Services (DHS) investigators actively monitored whistleblowers, photographed their homes, and targeted their children to protect a massive financial fraud machine. > Minnesota fraud scandal, Tim Walz, Keith Ellison, whistleblower intimidation, House Oversight Committee, JD Vance DOJ referral, Department of Human Services, political corruption, police state tactics
Host Tara delivers a multi-front exposé on government accountability and corruption. First, she targets Senate Majority Leader John Thune for blocking the "Defund the Taliban" bill despite reports of the regime lowering the marriage age to nine and using billions in mineral contracts with China. Next, Tara analyzes an explosive House Oversight Committee report alleging that the Tim Walz administration in Minnesota used police state tactics—including tracking phones and photographing children—to terrorize whistleblowers like Faye Bernstein over a $9 billion welfare fraud scandal. Finally, she breaks down the high-stakes battle over FISA surveillance renewals and hidden details from the Thomas Crooks investigation. > John Thune, Defund the Taliban bill, Minnesota fraud scandal, Tim Walz, whistleblower surveillance, Faye Bernstein testimony, FISA warrant debate, Thomas Crooks investigation, independent political commentary
In this comprehensive broadcast, host Tara exposes the hidden operational currents linking American economic survival with global and domestic battlegrounds. Tara breaks down a breaking announcement from President Donald Trump detailing plans to seize control of Iran's Kharg Island oil infrastructure. She lays out a controversial strategy: why the administration deliberately permitted the Strait of Hormuz to remain unstable to force European market dependencies away from a China-backed Middle East and into full-capacity US refineries. On the domestic and intelligence fronts, the program uncovers the massive, unravelling small-dollar "smurfing" scandal at Democratic fundraising hub ActBlue, where CEO Regina Wallace-Jones invoked the Fifth Amendment under intense congressional questioning regarding 38 million foreign-tied donations. Tara connects these financial channels to sweeping local issues, exposing a chilling House Oversight report on a $9 billion welfare fraud scheme in Tim Walz's Minnesota—where DHS officials allegedly used police-state surveillance tactics to stalk and terrorize local whistleblowers. Finally, she crosses the Atlantic to tear into UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer's new, severe speech censorship policies in the wake of violent riots in Belfast. Tara warns that the UK's incoming digital ID mandates and device-level image scanning represent a dangerous blueprint for personal privacy that Western liberals are eager to import. > Kharg Island military operations, Strait of Hormuz oil crisis, ActBlue investigation, campaign finance fraud, Tim Walz fraud scandal, Minnesota whistleblower intimidation, Keir Starmer online safety act, digital surveillance state, 287g immigration enforcement, independent political analysis

In this episode of John Solomon Reports, the focus shifts to the escalating tensions in the Middle East as President Trump addresses the recent downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter, allegedly by Iran. As the situation unfolds, Trump contemplates potential military retaliation while emphasizing his desire to avoid unnecessary conflict. Thankfully, the two airmen involved were rescued, but the implications of this incident could have far-reaching consequences for U.S.-Iran relations.House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer returns to discuss his explosive report detailing over $9 billion in fraud, waste, and abuse within Minnesota's entitlement programs. Comer reveals how Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison allegedly turned a blind eye to the rampant fraud, driven by concerns over political repercussions from a significant voting block. He emphasizes the importance of accountability and transparency, highlighting the challenges whistleblowers face in a system resistant to change.Comer also addresses the alarming use of military surveillance against state employees who reported fraud, suggesting that such actions may violate federal whistleblower protections. He shares insights on the broader implications of entitlement fraud across the nation, including the need for systemic reforms to prevent future abuses. With a focus on legislative measures aimed at tightening oversight, Comer outlines a path forward to ensure taxpayer dollars are protected from fraudsters. In the second segment, Fred Fleitz, former Chief of Staff to the National Security Council, shares his perspective on the Iran situation and presents a provocative idea: the potential dissolution of the DNI (Director of National Intelligence) agency. Fleitz's insights promise to challenge conventional thinking about national security. Finally, Tina Descovich from Mom's For Liberty joins to discuss the highly anticipated Sea to Shining Sea celebration in San Diego, marking America's 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

California is inviting questions about its elections because of a problem that is entirely solvable: the state takes too long to count ballots. This LA mayoral race is just the latest example.Let's look at what happened. On election night, Karen Bass was at 30 percent of the vote. Spencer Pratt was at 28 percent. Nithya Raman was around 20 percent. Every model from respected vote-modeling people that I saw indicated that Raman would gain more than Pratt in the later votes, presumably giving her enough to catch up to a less-distant third place without surpassing Pratt's campaign. Instead, we got an avalanche of late Raman support.Politics Politics Politics is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. The first vote drop had Raman running about 10 percent ahead of Pratt. The second was stronger. Then Friday came around, and things got really weird. Whether you want to ascribe malicious motives to it or whether it's totally above board and legitimate, the fact that this is happening on Friday for an election that happened on Tuesday becomes suspicious when Raman gets 40 percent of the vote total in a drop. She's not only running ahead of Pratt, she's running ahead of Bass. The same thing happened Saturday. The same thing happened Sunday. Now Raman is through to face Bass in the general a week after this sort of outcome — even in LA — seemed unlikely.Am I saying that somebody cured ballots after seeing the results? Am I saying somebody harvested ballots? No. I don't know specifics, and nobody else does, quite frankly. I'm saying you don't have to do this. Opening the process up this way is the reason you create suspicion. Is it odd? Yeah, it is odd. Even the people who thought Raman was going to overtake Pratt thought it would happen by the skin of her teeth at the very end. Nobody thought it was going to be over by the weekend. It's beyond expectations.I'm going to renew my call here, and it's not just me saying it. You've got systems in America that process a lot of votes really fast, and the way they do it is not rocket science. Florida created a system after 2000 that handles a lot of early voting and a lot of vote-by-mail, but those ballots are processed before Election Day and then dumped into the results when the polls close. If we're in an era of declining trust in elections, then I don't care how you think we got here. I don't care if you think it was Chicago in 1960, hanging chads in 2000, Democrats in 2020, Elon Musk and Starlink in 2024, or any of the other election fraud theories that have floated around American politics. What I care about is creating a system that we can all look at and say, “Seems like what happened.” I don't think California is close to having that, and it's only going to get worse if we don't make some big changes ahead of 2028.Chapters00:00:00 - Intro00:03:22 - California Results00:13:57 - Interview with Bill Scher00:35:08 - FISA00:38:06 - Walz and Ellison00:41:19 - Dems' New Super PAC00:44:09 - Interview with Bill Scher, con't01:13:13 - Wrap-up This is a public episode. They're not even hiding it anymore, guys. They are flaunting the fraud right in our faces. In this episode, Joe kicks things off with President Trump going absolutely scorched-earth on California's completely broken election system before walking right off the set of a humiliated corporate media interview. Look at what happened over the weekend—massive, mathematically impossible ballot dumps completely stealing the voice of the people and flipping races in California. Combine that with the new House Oversight report proving Tim Walz and Keith Ellison knew about rampant fraud for six years and did nothing, and it's clear: we aren't just fighting for free elections anymore. We are fighting to free ourselves from a system that views everyday Americans as the enemy. Then, Joe transitions to the frontlines of a different kind of evil. Joining Joe is a man deeply respected, former CIA Special Operations Officer and founder of the Association for the Recovery of Children, Bazzel Baz. We dive straight into the terrifying reality of child trafficking, looking at how cartels and sophisticated digital networks have shifted their tradecraft. Baz gives us an unfiltered, tactical look at massive federal sweeps like Operation Iron Pursuit, the dangerous roadblocks his team faces in the field, and how deep the corruption goes when you start looking at elite sex-buyer networks. If you want to understand what it actually takes to rescue our missing youth and smash these high-level syndicates, you cannot miss this conversation. Finally, Joe pulls back the curtain on the globalist agenda trying to silence dissent and destroy our culture. Over in Canada, they are literally snatching up young kids and tossing them into psych wards just for speaking their minds—and that exact same tyrannical playbook is playing out right here in America. We expose the radical, anti-American candidates running for local offices who openly mock our veterans, and we confront a corporate media structure that completely ignores real tragedies like the cold-blooded execution of 17-year-old football player Tyson Goodsell in Minnesota. Evil is everywhere, the system is illegitimate, and it is time for the American people to wake up and stand ground.
