Adam, Joanna, and Zach react to a recent essay stating that the wine industry should double down on marketing to the oldest part of the wine-consuming crowd. Does it make sense for wine to further focus its efforts on a generation it has a longstanding and lucrative relationship with, and does marketing to younger generations really turn off others? RockerMike, Rob and Anthony Winkler from Hey Bartender discuss The making of The Beatles White Album. The Beatles, also known colloquially as the White Album, is the ninth studio album and only double album by the English rock band the Beatles, released on 22 November 1968. Featuring a plain white sleeve, the cover contains no graphics or text other than the band's name embossed. This was intended as a direct contrast to the vivid cover artwork of the band's previous LP Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The Beatles is recognised for its fragmentary style and diverse range of genres, including folk, British blues, ska, music hall and the avant-garde. It has since been viewed by some critics as a postmodern work, as well as among the greatest albums of all time. The album features 30 songs, 19 of which were written during March and April 1968 at a Transcendental Meditation course in Rishikesh, India. There, the only western instrument available to the band was the acoustic guitar; several of these songs remained acoustic on The Beatles and were recorded solo, or only by part of the group. The production aesthetic ensured that the album's sound was scaled-down and less reliant on studio innovation than most of their releases since Revolver (1966). The Beatles also broke with the band's tradition at the time of incorporating several musical styles in one song by keeping each piece of music consistently faithful to a select genre. https://www.amazon.com/Beatles-White-Album/dp/B000002UAX https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/review-the-beatles-white-album-186863/amp/ https://www.loudersound.com/features/50-things-you-need-to-know-about-the-beatles-white-album https://anchor.fm/heybartenderpodcast https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCdj6KimD0RQ5mmpgmRiOQ7g https://open.spotify.com/show/4hFjXqQ0Aur33qSGpYKdgo https://heybartenderpodcast.com/blogs/news https://www.tiktok.com/@heybartenderpodcast/video/7026538534173478150 https://www.instagram.com/winkler.anthony/ https://mobile.twitter.com/heybartenderpo1 #beatles #beatle #beatlejuice #beatlesmemes #beatlemania #beatlesforever #beatleslove #beatlemaniac #beatlesfan #beatlescover #beatlesart #beatlesedit #beatlesfanart #beatless #beatlestattoo #beatlememes #thebeatles #beatlesmania #beatlestribute #beatlesforsale #beatlesashram #beatles4ever #beatlesmusic #beatlemaniacs #beatlesmeme #beatlesliverpool #beatleweek #beatlescartoon #beatlesparacrianças #beatlesedits #beatleboots #beatlesfans #beatlebass #beatlesstory #beatlefest #beatlesvinyl #beatleslyrics #beatlessong #beatlescollection #beatlesgiveawayabitretro #beatlemaniaindonesia #beatlesbrasil #beatlesparacriancas #beatlesfacts #beatleases #beatlessongs #vwbeatle #beatlegirl #newbeatle #beatlestributeband #beatlesnumceudediamantes #beatlelove #beatlefan #longlivethebeatles #beatlesday #musically #musician #musicislife #musicaly #musicvideo #musica #music #musicproducer #love #lover #lovers #peace Please follow us on Youtube,Facebook,Instagram,Twitter,Patreon and at www.gettinglumpedup.com Get your T-shirt at www.prowrestlingtees.com/gettinglumpedup And https://www.bonfire.com/store/getting-lumped-up/ Subscribe to the Youtube channel Hit the like button This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rob-rossi/support --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rob-rossi/support

The song spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Country chart, and No. 2 on the pop chart. It later became one of the Top 100 Best Country Songs of all Time. Lee's familiar songs include a string of Top 10 hits, such as “One In A Million,” “Bet Your Heart On Me,” “Cherokee Fiddle,” “Sounds Like Love,” “Hey Bartender,” “You Could've Heard a Heart Break,” and many more. Mark interviews Ashley Joanisse, a Canadian Country Singer-Songwriter who writes songs about politics, love, and life. Prior to the interview, Mark shares comments from recent episodes, welcomes new patron Krista D. Ball, thanks patrons, and reads a word from this episode's sponsor, Findaway Voices. You can learn more about how you can get your work distributed to retailers and library systems around the world at starkreflections.ca/Findaway. In his personal update, Mark shares a new StoryBundle that he is a part of, which launched on June 18, 2020, as well as a pair of videos he recently released focusing on how to pronounce his last name. In their conversation, Ashley and Mark talk about: Where Ashley's love of music first started The fact that Ashley always payed close attention to the lyrics of the songs she listened to The strong desire to write her own music rather than cover someone else's songs The little journey that Ashley kept since she was about thirteen years old, constantly jotting down poems, notes, song lyrics, and other things that inspired her Writing a chorus that might stay in the journal for several years before the lyrics for the rest of the song came to her Ashley's introduction to music in the 8th grade, and first learning how to play chords on the guitar Playing by ear - she has not yet learned how to read music The first guitar class Ashley was in where the instructor laid out a rule that nobody was allowed to play "Smoke on the Water" The very first song that Ashley nailed, which was "Outsider" by Taylor Swift How Mark learned about Ashley when she was putting out a collaborative call for people to submit video clips for a forthcoming video release Ashley's first single, "Hey Bartender!" How the song reminds Mark of a classic tune like "Piano Man" from Billy Joel The way that the music video was partially inspired by the clips Ashley received from friends and strangers How "Hey Bartender" was written and recorded two years ago and was produced about one year previously and the depression and circumstances that delayed the release The way that the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic inspired her out of the funk she had been stuck within The logistics of how Ashley created the video for "Hey Bartender" completely on her own How Ashley pulled off a video where she played two different characters (bartender and patron) in the same shot (and the way she learned how to do it) The difficulty for an artist when you put something out and you get virtually no response to the effort (something that is common for writers, musicians and other artists) (A little mix up where Mark's Google device starts playing a song) Ashley's latest song, titled "American Dream" which is a song inspired by tweets from the 45h president of the United States How this song allows her to express something she feels so intensely and how listening to the song can perhaps help others who feel the same way The way that "American Dream" is like the Arkells song "People's Champ" in that it's a powerful and catchy song, but there's an underlying meaning that some listeners might not actually pick up on How Ashley felt so strongly about releasing this song that she went out and bought professional equipment to produce it The mechanics of how Ashley recorded the song and produced the video for "American Dream" Why it's important to actually sing instead of lip syncing when you're trying to lip sync to an audio track for a music video Mark's impression of how bad the lip syncing on Grease 2 was The way that feedback from her two recent releases has further inspired her to want to continue to write and record more songs The irony of two negative things (a global pandemic and a narcissistic president who feeds on ignorance, fear, and lies) that inspired art, and got Ashley out of the depression she had been in Why Taylor Swift is a major influence on Ashley The advice that Ashley would give to her younger self And more . . . After the interview, Mark reflects on two of the things Ashley spoke about. The idea that if you stop, you'll never ever write that song that might move people, and how writing and music is a way to allow people to have a voice, to say things they are thinking and feeling about, which can empower writers/musicians and readers/listeners. Tyler and David discuss the movies they've been watching, including FANTASTIC PLANET, ROGUE ONE, DELICATESSEN, MOANA, HEY BARTENDER, LA LA LAND, THE EYES OF MY MOTHER, THE SQUID AND THE WHALE, and AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS.
You combine this with last week’s podcast, “Be a Rockstar Home Bartender – The Highball,” and the previous week’s, “Tasting Whiskey,” and you are sure to be well on your way to bringing joy and inebriation to your friends and family! Things you should also have: 1. “Tasting Whiskey” by Lew Bryson2. “Bitters” by Brad Thomas Parsons3. Local booze and bitters. This includes: Wigle Whiskey and Maggie’s Farm Rum if you're from Pittsburgh...which I obviously am. But wherever you live, I encourage you to find a craft distillery and get some aged and/or spiced hooch. Otherwise, have your favorite whiskey and rum on hand. Today…The Old Fashioned. Three ingredients: Syrup (water + sugar), whiskey (rum will also do the trick), and bitters. You add citrus to this mix, then vary those elements and really the possibilities are almost endless. In this episode, we drink several old-fashioned cocktails and we even venture into the land of the Manhattan. We discuss how to vary and diversify all elements of the basic cocktail, and we give you music to boot. Today’s selections include John Lee Hooker with, “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer,” and The Blues Brothers with, “Hey Bartender.” We’re still learning Audacity and finding ways to polish this podcast toward some semblance of professional. We appreciate you coming along with us, and for your trouble I’ll share with you this recipe: Maple-Rumaretto(This is a variation on an old-fashioned cocktail. For this recipe you’ll need:) >> Real maple syrup (No Aunt Jemima in my cocktail!)>> Favorite spiced rum(I certainly suggest either Maggie’s Farm Spiced Rum or Wigle Landlocked Spiced)>> Favorite Amaretto>> Aromatic and citrus bitters(Again, I suggest Wigle Aromatic and Pomander Orange…though Angustora will certainly do.)>> An orange from which you’ll cut a sliver of rind>> A rocks or old-fashioned glass (or small water glass)>> A pint glass>> A cocktail strainer (or table spoon)>> Standard shot glass>> Ice>> Spoon Set the smaller glass to the side. In the pint glass add 2 shots of rum, 1 shot of amaretto, 1/2 shot of maple syrup, & 5 drops of each bitters. Fill the glass with ice and stir so that the liquid gets nice and cold. Using either a cocktail strainer (…you can get this anywhere, including Walmart and Target or Amazon…) or a table spoon, pour the liquid contents from the pint glass into the smaller glass WITHOUT THE ICE. You’re holding the ice back. Twist the orange rind, rub it around the rim of the glass and drop it in. Enjoy. Folks, have fun with this!
