State Senator Mike Halpin has introduced a measure aimed at strengthening the fight against human trafficking by empowering local authorities. Under Senate Bill 1422, municipalities would gain the power to enforce compliance with human trafficking recognition training at hotels, restaurants, and truck stops, with fines of up to $1,500 per violation. The bill highlights Illinois' struggle with under-reported trafficking cases, as the Human Trafficking Hotline fielded over 760 signals from the state last year. Advocates and lawmakers emphasize the critical role of hospitality workers in spotting exploitation and supporting prevention efforts. The measure awaits a vote in the House.

Much of human trafficking is hidden in plain sight, but Becky Rasmussen is an expert on spotting the red flags that identify a potential victim and how to come to their aid. Becky is the founder and director of Call to Freedom, a non-profit that raises awareness about the horrors of human trafficking and provides supportive resources for those who have been victimized by the evil industry. She explains how human traffickers hunt for their victims, where they look, and how they keep themselves in business. She also breaks down the dangers of sextortion and familial trafficking that is often prevalent among very poor communities. “Use your gut,” she says. “If something doesn't seem right, then our job as a community is to report it.” TAKEAWAYS The human trafficking triangle is comprised of three cycling points: buyer (demand), trafficker, and victim (supply) Call the National Human Trafficking Hotline if you suspect someone is being trafficked and victimized 1-888-373-7888 Traffickers who build relationships with their victims make it much harder for the abused parties to escape or report a crime Human traffickers are very observant and will watch and build relationships with someone before exploiting them later

Your Hope-Filled Perspective with Dr. Michelle Bengtson podcast
Episode Summary: Human trafficking is a much bigger issue than most people realize. Today we're going to be talking with an expert who can shed some light on this global epidemic and provide us some hope for better understanding human trafficking, how we can help, and what needs to be done for ending human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Today's guest is currently a North American Cloud Strategist with a background in Broadcast Journalism and Coding and Development. She is also an advocate for the complete eradication of Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation in South Carolina and across the globe. As a Constitutional Republic Preservationist she believes We the People are the solution and through Christ we can do all things. Together we can return our Nation to God, and He can heal our land. Quotables from the episode: Through many trials and tribulations, I have made many mistakes but have learned from each of them. I now view challenges as an opportunity to overcome and bring glory to God. We often see a misconception in society around Human Trafficking. In order to efficiently combat this atrocity we need to inform, educate, and shift the mindset associated with this issue. We also need to focus on loving one another better, setting one another up for success from the beginning by laying a firm foundation of Faith. This alone will help to combat Human Trafficking. Awareness is where we start the fight against human trafficking. There are four main types of human sex trafficking: peer trafficking, familial trafficking, gang trafficking, and survival trafficking. The United States is the #1 buyer of trafficking victims with over a $90 billion annual revenue stream. Trafficking starts at a point of vulnerability and works to get the victim's trust, and then start grooming them. If there is a bidirectional interaction there is an opportunity for trafficking. Trafficking is most prominent in coastal and border areas, and in hubs that connect major cities, but it happens in every city. 4 Major Myths about Trafficking: 1) it doesn't happen to men; 2) all traffickers are men; 3) trafficking only happens in far off lands; 4) trafficking only starts in parking lots. There are millions of individuals who have experienced Human Trafficking and the most important message we can give to these victims is that “You Are NOT Alone”. Their experiences do not define them but instead give them an opportunity to become victors. Sometimes, we must travel through the darkness in order to recognize the Light. Start loving yourself. Every day that we wake up, we are given yet another opportunity to be a better version of ourselves. It is so important that we love ourselves and that we take the time to say to ourselves, no matter what we've been through, no matter what mistakes we've made, that was yesterday. Mindset is everything. If we constantly degrade ourselves by negative self thoughts, we limit our view of what we can be. However, if we begin to view each day as a gift, an opportunity, then we can start to imagine ourselves being great. Then it will be so. Scripture References: John 1:4-5 In him was life and that life was the Light of all mankind. The Light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. NIV Isaiah 42: 6-7 I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand, I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the nations, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. NIV Acts 13:46-47 Then Paul and Barnabus answered them boldly, “It was necessary to speak the word of God to you first. But since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. For this is what the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have made you a Light for the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.'” NIV Recommended Resources: www.humantraffickinghotline.com Human Trafficking Hotline 1-888-373-7888 TEXT BeFree to 233733 www.polarisproject.org https://www.scag.gov/human-trafficking/data-reports www.justice.gov/humantrafficking Today is Going to be a Good Day: 90 Promises to Start Your Day Off Right by Dr. Michelle Bengtson YouVersion 7-Day Devotional, Today is Going to be a Good Day YouVersion 7-Day Devotional, Today is Going to be Another Good Day Breaking Anxiety's Grip: How to Reclaim the Peace God Promises by Dr. Michelle Bengtson Breaking Anxiety's Grip Free Study Guide Free 7-Day YouVersion Bible Reading Plan for Breaking Anxiety's Grip Hope Prevails: Insights from a Doctor's Personal Journey Through Depression by Dr. Michelle Bengtson, winner of the Christian Literary Award Reader's Choice Award Hope Prevails Bible Study by Dr. Michelle Bengtson, winner of the Christian Literary Award Reader's Choice Award Trusting God Through Cancer 1 Trusting God Through Cancer 2 Revive & Thrive Women's Conference Subdue Stress and Anxiety: Fifteen Experts Offer Comprehensive Tools in Ten Minutes a Day. As a survivor of domestic violence, I would like to share my story. Despite the fact that my boyfriend was physically abusive, I didn't want to call the police. My first thought was that he was trying to get help and that things would change. His actions turned him into a monster, and I knew I had to leave him. After realizing I had been abused, I sought help and was able to get out. Please seek support and help if you are in a similar situation. It is not necessary for the abuse to be physical in order for it to be considered domestic violence. I urge you to seek therapy instead of just covering up the pain caused by toxic relationships. There are several resources available to you included in this episode. As a result of getting professional support and aromatherapy, I was able to find peace after surviving an abusive relationship. I am now in a healthy relationship with an amazing man. Essential oils played an important role in my healing journey. Aromatherapy can help survivors of abuse feel grounded and safe by using specific essential oils. For individuals who have experienced trauma, essential oils like Jasmine, Frankincense, and Siberian Fir can aid in the healing process. Let's raise awareness about domestic violence and offer hope to those who struggle with relationships. This week we have finally hit our first big episode milestone of 50, and we've decided to cover one case each; Sam's from South Carolina, and Tiffany's from North Carolina. Please excuse our one-off sound quality due to the fact that Tiffany can't stop tripping over her own feet. HAH Sam starts us out this week talking about how a mother is supposed to be a natural protector. Someone a child can trust and count on to do everything in their power to make sure the evil of this world does not touch them. Unfortunately, this was not the mother Alana Westbury is or pretended to be. Listen to the us discuss a mother who would allow and benefit from John Williams doing unthinkable things to Alana's daughter, leading to charges of trafficking and criminal sexual conduct with a child under the age of 10.If you know someone that is or is potentially trafficking and need to speak to someone, you can call the Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888, or you can text HELP to 233-733, & you can chat with someone live at www.humantraffickinghotline.org/chatTiffany finishes out the episode discussing a man that was severely affected by not only mental health issues but also alcohol abuse, which made him “dually diagnosed”. Phillip Lee Ingles got into an argument with his elderly grandmother and just a few short weeks after the incident, he would snap and do the unthinkable. Two elderly couples would be ambushed and beaten to death, and Phillip would go on to tell a few friends about what he had done. Later after his conviction, he would give up any chance of appeals so the family could have some peace and closure. Okay, cool dude, thanks so much for that.We hope y'all enjoy the big EPISODE 50, and next week we will resume our normal format.Check out our featured podcast of the week: @worldstruecrimeFacebook Group: www.facebook.com/groups/colacitycrimeInstagram: @ColacitycrimePlease consider supporting us on Patreon: www.patreon.com/colacitycrimeWe now have a Buy Me a Coffee: www.buymeacoffee.com/colacitycrime Email your listener stories and case suggestions: colacitycrime@gmail.comCheck out the website for our local non-profit: www.eccmpi.orgPlease subscribe, rate, and review our show on Apple Podcasts and Spotify!Sourcesmurderpedia.orgwikipedia.orglawinsider.comwww.acf.hhs.govcounton2.comwmbfnews.comwistv.comthetandd.comabcnews4.comwrdw.com

The US is one of the top three destinations for human trafficking victims (Castla) - at least 100,000 of these victims are American children being exploited for pornography or prostitution every year (Share Hope International). New England isn't unfamiliar with human trafficking either - Massachusetts alone reported 106 cases in 2019 (Human Trafficking Hotline). Statistics like this can leave us feeling as if we're fighting some immovable stronghold, however Mary Speta, Executive Director of Amirah Inc., proves there are actionable steps we can take to dismantle this degrading and horrifying industry, by clarifying how we, as the New England church, can fight human trafficking and support survivors. Mary shares many facets of trafficking in this episode, including how many women are unjustly coerced into the sex “trade,” identifying techniques used by traffickers, discussing legislative policies that hurt more than help, and detailing how the Church has contributed to the problem (and how we can better respond). According to savedinamerica.org, nearly 30% of missing children are being trafficked. That's thousands of children who are basically for sale. But don't stop listening because this is such a disturbing statistic. Stay tuned for ways that each of us can make a difference. Don't think it doesn't happen where you live. Child Sex Trafficking has been reported in all 50 states, so we need you! Today we are going to focus on missing kids and what we can do to help keep them safe from trafficking. First, let's take a quick look at some of the numbers so we can put some context around the issue. I have children, and I can't even imagine them experiencing the pain and the trauma that I read abut preparing for this episode. Even if you don't have kids of your own, I'll bet that there are nieces or nephews, neighborhood kids, or kids from church who you would do anything to protect if you knew something like this was happening to them. Sadly, not every kid has someone looking out for them. Thank you for hanging with me through a difficult topic like child sex trafficking. This episode brings to light a charity that does amazing work right here in our backyards for a “hidden crime”- Human Trafficking. Today, we talk with Barb Bollinger, Director of Development for Path2Freedom—a local non-profit, family-first organization that helps victims of human trafficking. Human Trafficking is a big, sophisticated, growing crime that is an assault against our most vulnerable in society – particularly children. It does not discriminate as it can happen in any community, and victims can be any age, race, gender, or nationality. It is often a hidden crime because victims rarely come forward, therefore, if you see something, please say something using the Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888. Those that are rescued or brave enough to come forward often experience a long recovery period due to the extensive trauma they have been through. Path2Freedom is here to deliver that long term recovery in a family first trauma informed safe environment. The need for these types of services is great and Path2Freedom has ambitious growth goals to expand providing the hope and healing necessary for long-term restoration of these precious lives. In this episode, we learn that Florida is the “worst state” per capita for human trafficking, a realization that hit hard in the recording studio. While this episode discusses a tough topic, we at SpelLife truly believe in the importance of awareness so we can contribute to making Southwest Florida a better community for everyone. Please listen and learn about the signs of human trafficking, what to do if you suspect human trafficking, and ways to get involved in helping and protecting those in our community who need it most.

Over 200 languages available 888-373-7888 http://humantraffickinghotline.org Show Notes: The Whole Enchilada always starts with really good Mexican food and this month it's queso. Which brings to mind the burning question of seasons past: white or yellow? Guest Alli Mellon, Executive Director of The Hard Places Community, says it's white queso all the way. Armed with chips and taquitos, the team takes a dip, so to speak, while Alli explains that her love of queso was born over the tradition of slow meals with friends. She has strong ideas about what should and should not be in white queso and exactly how it should cling to the chips. Mitch introduces special guest, Lanise Santala. Lanise is Mitch's wife and a friend of Alli's, who has served with The Hard Places Community on several occasions. Alli begins the conversation with a story that hit her hard when she was serving orphans in Swaziland. It was here that Alli first encountered the horror of human sex trafficking when she met a five-year-old girl who explained her own ordeal in detail. Back in the US, Alli couldn't shake the enormity of the problem. And thus, The Hard Places Community was born and Alli set her sights on Cambodia, a country notorious for sex trafficking very young children. Alli gives some details about the work they are doing in Cambodia, including their Kids Club program and shares the story of Michael Kenyon, a man who grew up in a hard place and overcame his past to empower Cambodian young men to get out of sex trade industry. The team focuses the conversation back on what “the hard places” means and Alli recalls the story of a ten-year-old boy whose experience, after weeks of patience on the part of the staff, finally led to the arrest of a notorious trafficker in Cambodia. Lanise chimes in to talk about The Hard Place Community's unwavering commitment to their mission and Alli gives the story of a man who came to the community at age 15 and who is now a senior staff member. Alli says she reminds her staff that when disappointment arrives, it means the job isn't done yet. She also dives into the importance of self-care and the ways she encourages it with everyone she works with. In this episode, Allison shares her own story of survival and an understanding of the narratives of the men and women trapped in this trafficking experience. What happened to the missing women of Ohio? Of these 8 women, 5 are still missing, and unfortunately the three that have been found are deceased and police are no closer to finding out why. The FBI has been called in to help with these investigations, and local authorities are unsure if this is potentially the work of a serial killer. Being that a lot of these women were addicts and possible sex workers, there is also the theory that sex trafficking has something to do with this. If you want to report human trafficking, you can do so through the Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888 or at humantraffickinghotline.org. According to the Human Trafficking Hotline, there were 11,000 cases of human trafficking reported last year. 11,000 cases of forced labor, sex trafficking, forced marriages, domestic worker abuse. All cases of people, often minors, being exploited for someone else's gain. This is happening all across America, in communities like yours and mine. Trafficking is connected to other social issues as well; juvenile justice, mental health, education, women's rights, foster care and so many more. What can we do to stop it? Robert Beiser, Executive Director of Seattle Against Slavery, shares about the work they do to help end Human Trafficking. He tells us about their strategies and how we, as a community, can get involved in helping to bring these issues out of the shadows. Robert Beiser has long been interested in issues of social justice and community engagement. He was a long-time volunteer with Seattle Against Slavery when it began, and became its first paid employee as Executive Director. Seattle Against Slavery envisions a community where no one is exploited for labor or sex. Its mission is to mobilize the community in the fight against labor and sex trafficking through education, advocacy and collaboration with local and national partners. On episode 11 of the Red X Podcast, Lance and Nicole speak with Tracy Hughes from Tamar’s Tapestry on the Texas-Mexico border. Nicole reports from one Texas news source that cites fear of trafficking as one factor in separating children at the border. Lance talks about his cats (Moe and Kiki) and how cats go through the door quickly if you open the door. Nicole says she’s experienced this phenomenon with dogs when she went to Molly Stillman’shouse and accidentally let her dogs out. Nicole ran down the road yelling “Tater Tot!” (not the name of the dog, oops). Lance suggests this could be the start of a food truck venture. In the news, Nicole reports from My Statesman, about fears of human trafficking being a factor in separating children from their parents at the border of Texas and Mexico. The article states that Texas’s Rio Grande Valley is where most families have been crossing the border in recent years. In fact, the Border patrol has reported more than 450 cases of fraud among children and family migrants and prosecuted 60 cases in the last year. A spokesman for a Homeland Security Department said they are “looking at all options in conjunction with the attorney general’s zero tolerance policy for those illegally crossing the border.” She goes on to say that they have “a legal obligation to protect the best interests of the child whether that be from human smugglings, drug traffickers or nefarious actors who knowingly break our immigration laws.” Nicole welcomes Tracy Hughes from Tamar’s Tapestry, an anti-trafficking organization on the Mexico/Texas border.Lance includes Tracy in the icebreaker quiz as an expert on Texas. What do the following mean in English?: Rio Grande El Paso Brazos River Alamo Armadillo How did you do? The Big River The Pass; incorporated in 1873 (the same year as Apex). It was named as a military post The Arms; Originally called the “Rio de los Brazos de Dios”, which means the “arms of God The poplar tree The little armored one Nicole asks Tracy how she founded Tamar’s Tapestry. The organization has been in existence since Dec 2016. Tracy was asked to teach a class on global women’s issues. In the class, she watched a video from a woman who had opened a home in Cambodia for trafficking victims. The young girls were singing about their trauma, and the victims couldn’t even finish it the words so their friends sang for them. It was at that moment that Tracy knew she had to do something. She even took a trip to India to see how they are combatting it. Tamar’s Tapestry is a faith-based organization and it gets its name from Tamar, who in the Bible poses as a prostitute. Another Tamar in the Bible is David’s daughter who was raped. Both Tamars experienced inexplicable trauma. “Tapestry” is significant in that all the loose threads can be woven together into something beautiful much like victims’ lives. Tamar’s Tapestry offers shelter for women who have just been rescued from a human trafficking situation. But the organization also works on education and prevention as well as helps advise policy for local and state legislators. They are the first crisis shelter in the Rio Grande Valley, they only provide service for adult females. Tracy says that every aspect of the home is meant to offer comfort and respite for the survivors who stay with them. Some of the women are so exhausted by the time that they arrive at the shelter that they fall asleep on their covers before they can get in the bed. The average age of the women they serve is 18-35 so they decorate with that in mind and have fun, funky and lively décor to make them feel at home. As a crisis shelter, they can provide services for up to two weeks. Tamar’s Tapestry sees three different demographics of survivors: immigrants, imported victims from another area in the US and local women. Sometimes the young women will come back to stay at the shelter if they are coming back to interview for a case but otherwise they are only in the care of Tamar’s Tapestry for 2 weeks until they can be sent to a more long-term restoration service. Tracy says that she often sees people get “smuggling” confused with “trafficking”. Smuggling is a crime against a nation and involves moving a person from one border to another. It is always voluntary. Often, people have paid a “coyote” to smuggle them across the border. Although these coyotes are often controlled by the cartel, generally they are gang members. The people being smuggled are not always from Central America, they are also from the Ukraine, Russia, Philippines, Afghanistan or another country. They may fly to central America and hire a central American coyote to smuggle them in. In contrast, trafficking is always involuntary. Movement is not a necessary component of trafficking. Although smuggling and trafficking are often inaccurately used interchangeably, it is possible that a smuggling scenario can become trafficking. Sometimes immigrants are sold before they even get over to the US. So what began as smuggling then becomes trafficking. Once immigrants are brought over by a coyote they are kept in a stash house in horrendous conditions. They are temporarily held in these stash houses until they can be moved farther north. The victims do not realize they have been pre-sold. Victims may be told that if they do not do what the coyote says then their family could be killed. Some of them are put to work in the Rio Grande Valley area but others can be sent to other states. In the groups, coyotes will often separate out the women from the group. They are then gang raped and their undergarments are hung on a tree as a status symbol. These displays are called “rape trees” and they are meant to instill fear in the women who might be coming along that path after the women who have been raped. Many of the women expect to be raped some time along the way and Tracy says they have heard reports that the women are beginning birth control pills before they make the journey. Tracy explains that many people can’t understand why a parent would put their child through such a dangerous journey because we American often lack a basic understanding of what is going on in immigrants’ home countries. These parents are often desperate for their children to have a better life and they see the risk of trauma they might experience on the journey to the US a risk worth taking for them to escape their current situation. Tamar’s tapestry also sees children being lured online. Tracy says that generally, most of the recruited are female (85%) while only about 15% are male. The Rio Grande Valley had the first case in which a 17 year old minor girl sold a 15 year old minor girl. And they also recently had a case in which a pair imported girls from Louisiana. Tracy says human trafficking happens everywhere in places you wouldn’t expect it. She knows of one reporter who didn’t believe that domestic human trafficking was happening in areas outside of large cities. This reporter set up a false person (minor 14 year old girl) on social media—a young girl and within an hour and a half she had received 223 hits. Tracy says the problem is the demand and the money. As a faith based organization, Tamar’s Tapestry is encouraging churches to address pornography. They believe that the demand for human trafficking will not be able to be fully regulated by the government and that it is a human problem that will require humans making a change. She says churches need to make it a safe place for groups to work through pornography addiction with men available to mentor them. Although pornography consumption is normalized outside of the church it is still not talked about within the church and that needs to change if we are going to make an impact in reducing the demand for purchasing sex. Nicole asks who is making the actual purchases for pre-sold people when they cross the border. Tracy says that they are often pre-sold to people through the cartel and that often they have victims come through with a family unit. Most people don’t have papers and their trafficker might be posing as part of that family. Sometimes there are easy common sense methods for determining if there is a trafficker in that group and other times that identification is much more difficult. Sometimes a parent might be paying another person to send over their child, or another person offers to pay the parent to use their child to accompany them to go across the border. So if a child is traveling with another adult, it is not necessarily that child’s parent. In fact, they might have been coached to call that adult a parent. No matter how you slice it, children are the victims in this. They experience trauma in their home country, on route and whether they are separated or not, they will experience trauma. If a parent is charged with smuggling, he or she might be put in shackles and that is also difficult for children to see. Tracy says these are not easy issues with simple solutions. How can the listener get involved? Educate yourself on the realities of pornography and don’t consume. Also, if you see something, say something. Call the Human Trafficking Hotline through Polaris to report a potential human trafficking scenario: 1-888-373-7888. It can be made anonymously and will go directly through to someone who can take your report. Tracy says that anti-trafficking organizations need your time and talent. You might have a skill that can be used in their operations so invest yourself. Also pray for the victims as well as the traffickers. Be an advocate and use your voice to tell others about the reality of human trafficking. Follow Tamar’s Tapestry on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tamarstapestry/ or visit their website: http://www.tamarstapestry.info/ Tracy reminds us of Matthew 25:40 “Whatever you did for the least of these, you did for me”. We have been called to serve God by serving others. Lance took away that they would crowd the women into houses (stash houses). Nicole was most struck by the rape trees that are meant to induce fear into potential victims. And Lance says that even if you can’t see the demand, it is there and that the reporter’s “sting” operation using a false account indicates that even in small towns where you don’t expect it, human trafficking can be occurring. Finally, issues surrounding the border are more complicated than is sometimes portrayed. People can be incredibly polarizing on the issue because sadly they are politically polarizing. It is complicated without an easy solution. We want families together, but we want them together safely.

Hosts Seth Daire and JJ Janflone are joined by guest Rex Hamaker to discuss the exaggerated claims about the scope of sex trafficking at the Super Bowl, how that can be harmful, and the challenge of good data. While signs point to sex and labor trafficking increasing during big events like the Super Bowl, the data doesn't support the mythic claims. Suggestions on how to get for trafficking and how to get involved are given. Rachel Hutchiston of irreverent testimony joined me as a guest host, because Arliss is on vacation. Today we started with a tiny bit of coverage on the Scottish elections. Our UK listeners will note that I didn't talk much about Nicola, and that's because I'm saving a full segment for her next week, as I talk about the Scottish elections on May 5th. Only when those are over and done with will I give Brexit my full attention. That was followed by a discussion of LGBT strategy when it comes to elections, and a discussion about how we take state governments back with Rachel. Our interview was with social worker Molly Judson, who's been on the front lines for just over two decades. This was one of the hardest interviews I've ever done, because of the subject matter: LGBT children and teens who've been enslaved right here in the US. Molly deals with these issues directly. Looking at the ways that LGBT teens are being enslaved is extremely bleak - but it doesn't have to be that way. Especially if we're all vigilant and become involved. Even the smallest effort at this point will be better than the wall of silence we face. Call your senator or congressman's office, and ask them why the trafficking of LGBT youth isn't a priority. Silence is deadly, but you can be a part of the change we need. The following resources were provided to us by Molly, and we hope they'll be useful in combating the scourges of bigotry, trafficking, and modern slavery in the United States. National Runaway Hotline (www.1800runaway.org): 1-800-RUNAWAY Resources and support for runaway youth and their families Trevor Project (www.thetrevorproject.org) - LGBTQ Crisis Line - Counselors trained in areas of support specific to LGBTQ issues 1-866-488-7368 - Hotline 1-202-304-1200 - Textline Human Trafficking Resource Center (https:traffickingresourcecenter.org) Hotline - if you are a victim of trafficking or suspect someone is being trafficked, please call the hotline: 1-888-373-7888 - National Human Trafficking Hotline Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking (www.combathumantrafficking.org) - lots of research and ways to get involved in anti-human trafficking efforts. Based in Colorado, the Laboratory is one of the most well-respected research organizations. They also help run the Human Trafficking Hotline for Colorado - 1-866-455-5075 (if you or someone you know is or is suspected of being trafficked in Colorado, there are many resources available) Trans Lifeline - translifeline.org - suicide and crisis line for trans*-identified individuals 1-877-565-8860 - US 1-877-330-6366 - Canada True Colors Fund - 40toNone Day is April 27, 2016 - go to the website (truecolorsfund.org) to sign up for advocacy efforts. -Will
