Founder of SpeakingCircles International and a beacon of heart-centered communication, Glicksteinhas spent decades showing how public speaking can be a powerful tool forpersonal and collective transformation—an opportunity to experience the Onenessof humanity. Having oncegrappled with debilitating stage fright, Glickstein discovered that the key tofearless speaking was not in perfecting performance techniques, butin cultivating a satisfying spiritual connection with audiences. At the core ofthis approach is the revolutionary concept of relational presence, whichGlickstein illuminates through seven foundational elements: 1.Listening – Receiving theaudience's energy and inviting sacred exchange. 2.Gaze –Keeping your eyesavailable to individuals so they feel seen and honored. 3.Stillness – Tuning into one'sinner sanctuary of stillness from where divine wisdom naturally emerges. 4.Breath – Cultivating easybreathing that calms the mind and attunes the spirit. 5.Belonging – Weaving together asense of unity, celebrating the sacred interconnection of souls. 6.Silence – Embracing naturalpauses as portals for reflection, healing, and resonance. 7.Connection – Allowing anessential bond to naturally unfold between speaker and listener. Backed by insightsfrom brain neuroplasticity research, Glickstein's approach illustrates how wecan systematically rewire our brains—from fearing visibility to joyfullyembracing it as part of our divine calling. Whether you're just getting started or have been schooling for a while, there are a few basic things to know that might make your life easier. When I started homeschooling, I was lucky enough to have done enough reading and non-traditional learning so I knew that the "school-at-home" model wasn't what we wanted. That helped. However, I started out expecting that I'd be able to make perfect plans and schedules and keep exactly on track every year. As you might guess, that was — well, let's just say that it was overly optimistic. Here are a few of the things I wish I'd known — I hope they help you! Have you ever thought how odd it is to have children move from grade to grade in lockstep with other children, even though they develop and learn at different rates in different subjects? Did you know that this idea of grade segregation is relatively new in the history of the world? Homeschoolers usually figure out how illogical the whole idea is, but I thought this excerpt from one of my favorite old books, Understood Betsy by Dorothy Canfield Fisher, might give you a glimpse of how learning levels used to work. A while back, I came across an interesting comparison of two middle school reading lists — one from 1908 and one from a bit more than 100 years later. The original article compared the lists based on time period, thematic elements, and reading level, and I'll share that comparison along with a few ideas for interesting middle-grade reading. Although there are many practical reasons to read daily, the list of the benefits of reading begins with delight. There are few things more soul-nourishing than a great book. However, reading can reduce stress, improve communication skills, increase empathy, build vocabulary, and so much more. It's no surprise that reading builds brains; what's surprising is how little reading time is built into most people's day. You don't have to read for hours a day to benefit. According to at least one study, stress is reduced after only six minutes of reading. Just imagine what longer periods might accomplish! Here are seven tips to help you find more reading time. About Cathy Cathy Duffy has been reviewing homeschool curriculum and resources since the 1980s, and is the author of several books, including her most recent volume, 103 Top Picks for Homeschool Curriculum. Cathy began educating her three sons at home in 1982 and continued all the way through high school. In addition to teaching her own sons, she has taught numerous group classes for home-educated students and church groups. Her extensive research and experience have made Cathy a popular speaker at home education conferences around the world. In addition, Cathy has taken a broader interest in educational issues, authoring the book Government Nannies: The Cradle-to-Grave Agenda of Goals 2000 and Outcome-Based Education to address problems with "educational reform." Concerns about government schooling prompted Cathy to get involved with the Children's Scholarship Fund in 1998, piloting a $15 million scholarship program in Los Angeles. That program helps children from low-income families attend private and homeschools. Articles authored by Cathy Duffy on a wide range of topics have appeared in The Teaching Home, Practical Homeschooling, Homeschooling Today, Christian Retailing, The Parent Educator, ParentLife, Family Resources, The Canadian Home Educator, The Christian Conscience, Homefires, Christian Home Education News, Ideas on Liberty, and many other publications. Sometimes life changes abruptly in ways we can't control, and it can leave us feeling tired, anxious, or sad. As I've read the daily newspaper over the last few months with its grim news of weather disasters, fires, political instability, and war, I thought it might be time to revisit some thoughts I shared at the beginning of the Covid-19 event that changed many of our lives for at least a year or two. Trusting yourself in the present moment may seem simple, but it's easier said than done. The expectations surrounding how we use our time slow us down, making it difficult to tap into our creativity and innovation. While mindfulness in business is a popular concept, we aim to take it further by advocating for a more comprehensive approach. This involves setting yourself up for success by integrating mindfulness into your daily routine and tapping into your inner creativity. To do this, it's important to shift your thinking away from current thoughts about mindfulness in business. Instead, focus on how mindfulness can make your work more fulfilling and enjoyable and how your challenges are worth the effort. Doing so can unleash your full potential and achieve greater success in all aspects of your life. In this program, you will learn questions to ask, experiments to gather information, and how to shift the lens you use to assess challenges. Trusting yourself begins with creating and protecting your environment — inside and outside yourself. As you tune in, think about your traits — focus primarily on the ones you may see as weaknesses, and figure out how these characteristics are actually your strengths. Innovation from the inside allows new and different ways of working to emerge. Jess Dewell facilitates a BOLD discussion about how to change our relationship with time to be more creative in business and the connection between mindfulness and creativity with Catherine Morgan, President at Point A to Point B Transitions, Claire Uncapher, Clinical Nurse and Intuitive Life Coach, and Dr. Janice Campbell, Acupuncturist and Herbalist. -------------------- If you want to identify business bottlenecks, the necessary skills, the initial actions to take, the expected milestones, and the priorities for achieving growth, try the "Growth Framework Reset" approach. This will help you to keep learning and growing while working strategically on your business. -------------------- You can get in touch with Jess Dewell on Twitter, LinkedIn or Red Direction website.

I hope you find these thoughts helpful as you navigate whatever uncertainty has touched your life. Is it imaginable that freedom of speech and freedom of religion could be suppressed where we live at some time in our future? History would indicate so. How do we prepare ourselves and our families for such a contingency? What curriculum might best prepare us for persecution, even martyrdom? How do we cultivate necessary virtues without sparking burdensome fears? Listen in as Janice Campbell and Andrew Pudewa explore this challenging subject. About Andrew Andrew Pudewa is the director of the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) and a father of seven. Traveling and speaking around the world, he addresses issues related to teaching, writing, thinking, spelling, and music with clarity, insight, practical experience, and humor. Although he is a graduate of the Talent Education Institute in Japan and holds a Certificate of Child Brain Development from the Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential in Philadelphia, PA, his best endorsement is from a young Alaskan boy who called him “the funny man with the wonderful words.” He and his wonderful, heroic wife, Robin, have homeschooled their seven children and are now proud grandparents of fourteen, making their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Join curriculum expert Cathy Duffy and me as we talk about the art of choosing homeschool curriculum. You'll learn about goals, learning styles, types of homeschooling, and more. I think you'll come away feeling much more comfortable about making choices that fit your family. Sujata is joined by the humorous and effervescent Janice Campbell on the show today. Janice is a recovering theatrical stage manager turned Doctor of Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine. She is also a Somatic Touch Practitioner and teaches a variety of online courses to individuals and groups. She recently finished up a 5 year stint in academia, where she threw a university's clinical practice of a 3,000 year old medicine online in less than 6 weeks during quarantine, to the benefit of the master's and doctoral levels student practitioners, their faculty, and patients. She loves puzzles of all kinds, storytelling, and learning new things. In addition to homeschooling her son, she reads, plays music, and gardens far less than she'd like. In all that she does, Janice is committed to helping people remember how to respond to the world the way they did when they were little because life is too short not to be having a good time. Janice lives in Baltimore, Maryland with her sweetheart, their son, an opinionated cat, and an elderly dog, who is a Buddhist monk that took an odd turn in reincarnation. Playlist included: 1. At some point in life, many of us are tasked with the personal journey of addressing past trauma. We often find that the road to mental wellness is paved with roadblocks, as the body physically holds onto previous life experiences and traumas. In this Trauma Healing Learning, hear how a form of gentle touch greatly impacts the lives of patients and even heals old scars. Somatic healing practitioner and licensed acupuncturist Dr. Janice Campbell discusses the mind-body connection and how laying a hand on certain areas of the body can enact significant physical (and mental) change. This practice is even useful for those who are paralyzed or amputees. Join Louise in exploring the world of intention, attention and ‘The Kidney Hold.' Learn about the ways in which body-bound trauma is expressed through physical movement, and the somatic healing methods, including Somatic Touch, which allow the body to release internal distress. Learning while caregiving — is it even possible? Can learning can go on while you're caregiving for someone who is elderly or disabled? I want to reassure you that it can, but it will be different from what you might expect. If you can align your expectations with reality, make adjustments that keep you sane, and focus on priorities and essentials, you'll be able to homeschool while you're a caregiver. You may not achieve the picture-perfect homeschool you envision, but your family will learn many valuable lessons, and can even thrive. Guest biography Andrew Pudewa is the director of the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) and a father of seven. Join us for a book-centered conversation with guest Jan Bloom. You'll catch a glimpse of homeschool life in the early years, hear how BooksBloom, their traveling bookstore (a favorite stop at many of the Great Homeschool Conventions) came to be, and even hear a bit about what it's like to homeschool as a grandparent. You'll hear about several favorite books, and come away inspired, with a renewed sense of the joy of homeschooling and the fun of reading good books. Guest biography After hearing about homeschooling at a L'Abri seminar in 1982, Jan and Gary Bloom embarked on a new adventure with their three children. It evolved into a life inextricably intertwined with homeschooling, books, and travel. Although they didn't necessarily plan for such a mobile lifestyle, Gary and Jan have been on the road for over 20 years with their traveling bookstore, BooksBloom. Though they've slowed down a bit in the last couple of years and are homeschooling their 8 year old grandson, they still travel thousands of miles a year to set up their cozy used bookstore at homeschool conferences and BooksBloom seminars. Families who come to their booth can find both good books and great recommendations for parents and kids who are looking for just the right book on whatever they are interested in, enjoy, or need to study. Jan writes, “Our lives are full of adventure - traveling, talking, rescuing books, sending great books to new homes, laughing, and experiencing God's kindness and mercies daily. We are grateful to the Lord that He allows us to live such a crazy life.” Host biography Janice Campbell, a lifelong reader and writer, loves to introduce students to great books and beautiful writing. How do you teach your child what it means to be a responsible person? Like most parents, you probably model the traits you hope they will acquire, and that's the best possible way. However, don't forget the power of literature. Fables, parables, stories, and humorous essays (such as this one) can spark discussions, provide vivid examples, and remind us of truths in ways that are more memorable and meaningful than straight admonition. Join me today for a reading of the classic essay, "A Message to Garcia” by Elbert Hubbard. It's the type of essay that can help you make an important point in an entertaining way. Enjoy! Elbert Hubbard (1856–1915) was an American writer, publisher, artist, and philosopher. He is best known as the founder of the Roycroft artisan community and as an influential advocate of the Arts and Crafts movement. He and his wife, Alice, died aboard the RMS Lusitania when it was sunk by a German submarine in 1915. When we ‘get stuck' in our lives--we tell ourselves its due to all the ‘things' we do in our daily routines--from all of our commitments, to the areas that really express our limiting beliefs. We tell ourselves we'll wait for a better day, or a better time. Only what we do actually contradicts what we desire--so we never get anywhere. Listen in to my chat with colleague, Janice Campbell as she shares insight into a framework she developed to help us stay in alignment for what we truly desire--so that our day to day actions actually match that. So often we swim in the belief that if we do what we want to do, somehow we are taking something away from others. Attempting to receive our life while in this mindset can leave us feeling guilty, selfish, or greedy. On this week's show we are going to delve into why that is not the case. Throughout the next five shows, Janice Campbell, LUT, will be going behind each one of the steps in the Receive Your Life system to reveal how each step brings you closer to the ones you love.
On today's show host Janice Campbell, LUT, is reading from her new book Practical Wisdom for Everyday Spirituality. The book takes you on a journey of discovery, gently releasing you from the concessions you've made throughout the years and awakening you to the beauty and truth of your authentic self. Relax and enjoy as Janice expands on her inspirational messages reminding you of your authentic self.
The self-improvement quest keeps us running in circles. We're trying to improve and fix something that is not broken. Why do we make the presumption that the self needs improving? On today's show, Janice Campbell, LUT, unravels the myth of self-improvement and discusses a much more empowering and satisfying way to enjoy our life's journey.
When we see a new possibility for ourselves, we are often quick in making where we are wrong while trying to instantly jump to the new reality we see. When what we want doesn't manifest as quickly as we've hoped, it is easy to become discouraged and question the inspiration we are receiving. Moving from fear to faith is a process, a journey we travel on. On today's show, Janice Campbell, LUT, discusses signposts in your life that will serve as reminders that you are indeed on track to receiving your life.
To understand what it means to be on the same side as yourself, it may be easier to explain what it is not. When we are not on the same side as ourselves, we are in the midst of an adversarial relationship. We probably have all heard it said that we are our own worst enemy, but why is that? And does it have to be that way? It absolutely does not have to be that way and, in fact, very often our inner battles create much unnecessary suffering, both for ourselves and for others. However, before we can be on the same side as ourselves, it is important to explore the current relationship we have with ourselves, the relationship between the spiritual aspect of ourselves and the physical aspect. Is this relationship supportive, healthy, and harmonious or is it destructive, diminishing, and combative? On today's show, Janice Campbell, LUT, is going to explore the idea of practical spirituality, integrating both aspects of ourselves into our everyday life. She will discuss the strength, focus, and peace that's possible when we live an authentic and undivided life.
There is wisdom in our resistance. Can that really be true? And if it is, what is our procrastination trying to tell us? If you have ever felt stuck on a project or wondered why you resist moving forward on your goals, join Janice Campbell, LUT, and her guest as they discuss how you can follow-through with grace to the realization of your desires.
You know what you want, you know what you "should" be doing, but you're not. What is going on? If you're ready to break out of this self-sabotaging pattern, join Janice Campbell, LUT, and her guest as they explore how to locate the truth in your resistance. Once you identify the misunderstanding you've been living within, you'll realize you have the power to make better decisions for yourself.
Do you ever get tired of trying to live up to other people's expectations? Or feel that other people's agenda carries more weight than what you want? If you feel your spouse, kids, parents, friends, employers or clients are pulling the strings in your life, join Janice Campbell, LUT, and her guest as they explore how to get the power and traction back in your life.
What role does faith play when the cash isn't flowing? Have you ever asked yourself, Am I crazy for following this idea? Is there a point where I would be better off throwing in the towel? How do I know if I'm even on the right track? If you have questions like these swirling around in your mind, join Janice Campbell, LUT, and her guest as they discuss these topics and more.
Is it difficult for you to ask for money? Do you feel you're earning less than you're worth? Does the topic of money make you uncomfortable? At times do you wish you could work for free and avoid the topic of money all together? If so, join Janice Campbell, LUT, and her guest as they discuss all things money-related. During the program you'll gain a greater understanding of your relationship with money and find new ways to look at the topic of money and value.
The principles are always working. The question is, Are you working the principles? Janice Campbell's guest this week shares how he used the Law of Attraction to attract the love of his life. Now he's wondering if those same principles can be used to create a career he loves. Principles are principles. If they work in one area, they work in all areas. However, we may not have the experience of our life working the way we want if our limiting beliefs are blocking our desires. Join us this week as we discuss how, if you've done it once, you can do it again. What you manifest is not as important as knowing you have the power to create what you desire.
Last week Janice Campbell, LUT, and her guest talked about career and prosperity. Yet toward the end of the call it became apparent that there was something blocking the guest's ability to create the career she desired. So often when we feel stuck with money, prosperity or career, we're dealing with the symptoms instead of the cause. The cause may appear unrelated but energy is energy, and when it's blocked, it affects all areas of life. Join Janice and her guest as they explore the cause of this blockage and how to use a three-step process to dislodge the obstacle. Together we will work through an exercise where you can release your past and claim what is yours to receive.
The focus for this week's program was what stops us from living our purpose. Some of the coaching topics that Janice Campbell, LUT, coached on were: "How can I start flowing with my current instead of banging against the rocks?" "How do I get out of feeling stuck? I know I'm not suppose to blame others, but I'm also tired of blaming myself." "What stops me from moving forward with my purpose when I know what would support me?" "How do I know if it's fear stopping me or just that I really don't want to do something?" It doesn't take much to come back to your authentic self because you're never that far off. Listen to this week's program and witness how quickly a client went from being stuck to feeling light and inspired.
