Tune into an enlightening episode where Ethan and Jared Thomas, the dynamic duo of Brothers Creed Podcast, explore the powerful concept of "Carpe Diem" or "Seize the Day". They discuss the significance of cherishing and plucking each day when it's ripe, and dig into the profound ties of this principle with "Memento Mori", a Latin phrase reminding us of our mortality and life's fleeting nature. With engaging and thoughtful conversation, this episode affirms the necessity to live in the 'now' in a world obsessed with the past and the future. It examines common cognitive fallacies such as sunk cost and arrival fallacy that often distort rational thinking and foster unrealistic expectations. This is an episode for anyone who yearns to grasp the art of being fully present in each precious moment of life. The discussion deepens as the Thomas brothers identify prevalent happiness fallacies that can hinder us from experiencing joy in the present moment, including the Sunk Cost Fallacy and the Arrival Fallacy. These narratives from various life stages and personal experiences provide profound insight into the treasures and traps of truly living in the moment. Delving into the complex world of time perspectives, the hosts underscore the value of appreciating the present without letting past disappointments or future uncertainties cloud our perspective. They inspire listeners with anecdotes and quotes by luminaries such as Benjamin Franklin and Muhammad Ali, sharing how each day is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Carlos and Peter hop on the draft podcast to talk about the state of the top of the 2024 class. The two talk about how the top tier of players hasn't changed significantly in the last few weeks and that the group seems pretty wide open after about pick 10 or so. The two talk about one of the more consistent up-arrow prep prospects in the class, Bryce Rainer, who the two previously loved as a pitching prospect, though they both are coming around to liking his toolset and hitting ability as a shortstop prospect. His NHSI performance does nothing to sway that opinion and has him a steady mover up draft boards. After that the two talk about Sam Houston State catcher Walker Janek, who is having a career year with the bat and also might just be the top defensive catcher in the class. How long will a profile like that last on draft day and what is our confidence in the catcher pecking order at this stage?Next the two talk about a unique hitter who profiles as both a first baseman and center fielder in Texas lefthanded hitter Jared Thomas, who like Janek is having a strong offensive season. After that the two break down a few Vanderbilt pitchers who, despite a rough last week against Texas A&M, could be poised to hear their names called on day one of the draft.–Time Stamps(0:00) State of the top of the class(7:00) Bryce Rainer(14:10) Walker Janek(21:40) Jared Thomas(29:00) Carter Holton(34:30) Bryce CunninghamOur Sponsors:* Check out Triple Crown Jewelry and use my code BA2022 for a great deal: triplecrownjewelry.com* Check out eBay Auto: www.ebay.com* Check out: indeed.com/BASEBALLAMERICASupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/baseball-america/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

When historian Mark McKenna set out to write a history of Uluru, he had no idea where the story would take him. Researching the shooting death of an Aboriginal man by policeman Bill McKinnon, Mark uncovered shocking evidence that was typical of Australian frontier justice, and astonishing in its contemporary resonance. With support from the families of key individuals, and the assistance of South Australian Museum, Mark uncovered critical new evidence, and Return to Uluru became a true crime story of the most explosive kind, and an important exploration of what truth telling and reconciliation means in practice. We cover the topics of applying Henry Ford’s business model, becoming a “social media chiropractor,” and even briefly discuss Mortal Kombat! The B-Fox and B-Frank Show welcomes on a special guest this week, former Northwestern offensive lineman Jared Thomas. Jared was awesome. Plain and simple. The guys discussed his recruitment process, how and why he chose Northwestern. How he started football and his High School career at Indianapolis powerhouse Cathedral. What Northwestern Head Coach Pat Fitzgerald is like, who took him under his wing on the team and how he then took on a leadership role within the program. The guys also talked about the Wildcats' run to the Big Ten Title game and a homecoming as Jared returned to Indy for that game. Lastly, the conversation closed with what Jared is up to right now and his plans for the future. In the world of College Basketball there is quite a bit happening. The biggest news is top recruit Cade Cunningham is staying at Oklahoma State despite a current post-season ban for the Pokes. Kobe King is no longer going to Nebraska, dealing a big blow to Fred Hoiberg and the Huskers. Notre Dame has schedule a road game at Howard on Martin Luther King Jr Day in 2021, the first major program to do so after news broke last week that the ACC was looking to do something like this. DJ Carton is immediately eligible at Marquette which is a huge win for Wojo and the Golden Eagles as they look to replace Markus Howard. The guys also dive into Wojo's time at Marquette and how Carton will be used next year. In a strange turn of events, Nojel Eastern was not admitted to Michigan after committing nearly immediately after announcing he was transferring from Purdue. Eastern is now back in the transfer portal and free to move to another program. And has been the case these last few weeks, a full on recap of the Heat Check College Basketball Sim as the regular season has come to a close. B-Frank's Pirates are still alive while B-Fox's Bulldogs have seen their season end with only 8 teams making each conference tournament. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
