Joe Russell, Vice President of Network Management and Contracting at Strategic Healthcare shares his invaluable perspective on how community-based providers can thrive despite the dominance of managed care plans and the ever-present issues of fraud, waste, and abuse. Our conversation uncovers the influence of pivotal regulatory shifts, such as the Affordable Care Act and CMS initiatives, on managed care. We navigate the delicate balance between cost containment and quality care, addressing critical challenges like authorization limits and the impact of timely payments on providers. As we look to the horizon, our dialogue transitions into the evolving dynamics of provider-payer relationships, where data-driven quality metrics take center stage. The burgeoning landscape of managed Medicare Advantage plans demands a new level of collaboration between payers and providers, with an emphasis on trust and innovative cost-containment solutions. We explore the significance of aligning with metrics like star ratings and rehospitalization rates to enhance opportunities and reimbursement. Value-based care in post-acute settings is poised for growth, and providers must lead the charge by understanding their costs and crafting compelling value propositions for managed care plans. Join us as we chart the course for the future of healthcare, where collaboration and strategic partnerships will redefine success.Visit our websiteConnect with us - LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, FacebookMake Lives Better

The capitalist system is in a deep global crisis. Its decline has devastating consequences, not only in terms of social and economic conditions, but also the destruction of the planet. This is shaking millions of people to political life and it has driven an increase in political activity of all kinds. In particular, some are drawn towards the methods of ‘direct action' and ‘civil disobedience'. In this talk, Joe Russell will examine the limits of ‘direct action' groups like Just Stop Oil, XR and, even to some extent, the self-proclaimed communist organisations. By revisiting some of Lenin's writings from the early 1900s, and by examining political developments today, Joe will present a Marxist approach to these struggles, which correspond to the period of revolution that is opening up before us.

PARTNERS IN TRUE CRIME: WHO KILLED MOLLY MILLER AND COLT HAYNES?

We are live in Love County, Oklahoma this week documenting an excavation of Moxley Pond one of the hotspots in the Molly Miller and Colt Haynes case. Joining us is retired FBI agent Maureen O'Connell and CSI Tech and Director of the Cold Case Foundation Sheryl "Mac" McCollum. Eight months after Molly and Colt went missing, there was a 911 butt dial from Colby Barrick who was located at Moxley Pond. In the call, the dispatcher overhears Barrick, and two other males discussing Molly Miller and she alerts Joe Russell who immediately says "at Moxley Pond?" Moxley Pond is located on BattleSprings Ranch just across the road from where the car chase ended. We went to Moxley Pond in 2019 and immediately felt that this area needed to be throughly searched. The new owner of Battle Springs Ranch did a private search with cadaver dogs who hit on the pond in 2021. Now, after 9 long years, we are now conducting the first excavation of the pond...will we finally get answers? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

PARTNERS IN TRUE CRIME: WHO KILLED MOLLY MILLER AND COLT HAYNES?

When Molly Miller and Colt Haynes went missing in 2013, Molly's family reached out to the District Attorney Craig Ladd for help in getting justice. Nine years later, Molly and Colt are still missing, and Craig Ladd continues to serve as the District Attorney even though he is on the Brady List and has multiple infractions against him. Joe Russell also has several Brady List violations as well as multiple deputies and officers from the Love County Sheriff's department. Molly and Colt's case continues to expose the corruption in Southern Oklahoma. Today we are going to speak to an expert who will give us some insight into what it means to be on the Brady list. We are also releasing a recording from a tipster who reveals new information and a potential suspect in the Molly Miller murder. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

PARTNERS IN TRUE CRIME: WHO KILLED MOLLY MILLER AND COLT HAYNES?

The case of Molly Miller and Colt Haynes has been going on for over 9 years.  In that time, both Paula and various law enforcement agencies have been hunting down leads and looking for witnesses.  There has also been some headway in routing out some of the bad actors associated with the case.  Joe Russell was removed from office and Conn Nipp was arrested for a second high speed chase.  These have been small victories in exposing in this epic investigation.  However, in order to find, catch, and prosecute the killers they will need the law to put them behind bars.  Gary Henry was the district attorney for the 20th district of Oklahoma from 1995 to 1999, which covers Love and Carter County.  Gary reveals some unique insight into the community and the legal landscape of Love County. The Zen(ish) MommyYou can be both a work in progress and a beautiful masterpiece all at the same damn timeListen on: Apple Podcasts Spotify

Molly Miller's mysterious 911 call has created a lot of controversy in this case. Why didn't law enforcement dispatch anyone to the area and why didn't they try to find out if she needed help? For the first time, we are speaking to Erica the Love County E-911 operator who answered Molly's 911 call. Then, Johnny Denney a Love County Deputy under Joe Russell was on duty the night that Molly and Colt went missing... Six months later, Johnny was on duty when Conn Nipp took police on another high speed chase but this time Conn gets arrested. Colt Haynes was only 22 years old when he went missing, we have a deep and emotional interview with Cady, the mother of his son. Cady also happened to date Conn Nipp for two years prior to her relationship with Colt- she gives us some good insight into these two men and how their lives changed forever that fateful night.Destination Morocco PodcastJoin host Azdean Elmoustaquim as he takes you on an exploration of his country's...Listen on: Apple Podcasts Spotify

This shows how English history – contrary to the story we are constantly told – is not one glorious, uninterrupted march of conservative progress and moderation. In this great revolution, two movements – the Levellers and the Diggers – developed that went far beyond the confines of capitalism. With their vision and demands, they laid the foundations for the traditions of communism in England. It's a very serious and sensitive subject, but also a huge change to the way the President is viewed worldwide and by other foreign leaders.  Mark is joined to discuss all of this by Brandon Travis (our verified high flyer and resident thrill seeker) and Owner of Take A Hike Bike Shop, Joe Russell. First up, Mark and the guys discuss being thrill seekers and how they connect and become acquainted with each other. This leads directly into impeachment talk. Joe and Brandon not being deeply ingrained in national politics discuss why Trump is in the position he is in. Mark illuminates other aspects and the gentlemen discuss their opinions about Trump and this impeachment that is ACTUALLY happening.  Including the way the debates went defending Trump with crazy Pontius Pilot talk and other things.  This leads to discussion of False Flag operations and some conspiracy theories that Brandon wants to discuss. Mark points out to the men that being conspiratorial is technically anti-american in it's normal stance. Mark must defend his remarks but it all comes back to Trump not even having his cabinet full three years into his presidency.  Finally, and on the last one of this decade, Joe Russell of Take a Hike Bike shop jumps on the HOTSEAT to discuss all the questions Mark and Brandon pose to him. This leads down a road discussing the past decade and the favorite moment in the past 10 years for Joe and Brandon. This open another pandora's box and the guys talk about life and the strange places it takes you when viewing such huge chunks of your past.  From everyone at the Q...Joe Russell and Brandon Travis...and to all of you and your families...Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We are gonna finish off the decade in Style and bring in the New Roaring 20's. Thank you 2010's for being amazing to The Q and all the friends/fans we made in the past decade. We look forward to doing it great for another decade too!

Ever go to a trampoline park? Yeah. You’ll feel it the next day. With a pretty good slate of college wrestling going on Saturday, I’m sure you’re going to feel it too. I’m Jason Bryant and this is Short Time Shots, a mostly daily look at the scores and more from the world of wrestling.  Dual Meets:  Most of the key action took place at the Northeast Duals, but before we get there, No. 15 Pittsburgh hosted Campbell in a dual where the Fighting Camels felt they had chance to pull the upset and potentially get ranked for the first time in school history. They’ll have to wait. The Panthers won eight of 10 bouts in a 28-6 win. There were notable individual matches, though as Pitt’s Micky Phillipi downed Noah Gonser 6-2 at 133, while freshman Cole Matthews pinned Josh Heil at 141 pounds. At 165, Pitt’s Jake Wentzel majored Quentin Perez, who was coming off a solid effort at the Southeast Open. Campbell did pick up one notable upset, as red hot Andrew Morgan beat Nino Bonaccorsi 11-8 at 184. Morgan fell behind early, but rallied with a second period reversal and set of four nearfall points to tie the match going into the third. He added an escape and another takedown to pull out the win. Demetrius Thomas of Pittsburgh topped Jere Heino 10-3 at 285. Wow, there was actually a lot more to that dual than the score indicates.  Now, we get to the Northeast Duals and I’m going to start off with the highest ranked dual between any teams in the mix, and that was in Division II where No. 2 St. Cloud State spanked No. 1 Pitt-Johnstown 31-6. St. Cloud State’s Garrett Vos knocked off No. 1 Tyler Warner 11-6 at 133 pounds and fourth-ranked Devin Fitzpatrick beat No. 2 Devin Austin 3-1 in two of the Huskies’ biggest wins. UPJ did get one win of note, two-time Division II national champ Chris Eddins edged three-time All-American James Pleski 3-2 at 149 pounds. That’s likely a preview of your national finals at the weight.  The only matchup with ranked teams in Division I saw No. 8 Arizona State beat No. 23 Virginia 27-12. The Sun Devils also rallied to beat Purdue 22-19 as car-rental eligible Tanner Hall earned a tech fall at heavyweight to give ASU the dual win. Virginia opened the day with a 49-0 win over LIU. No Jack Mueller today for the Cavaliers. Purdue beat Buffalo 32-8 and Utah Valley 30-12. Utah Valley beat Sacred Heart 40-3, while Sacred Heart beat LIU 26-12. Buffalo also beat LIU 37-3. This is going to be a long year for the newly minted Division I team at LIU.  Elsewhere around the Journeyman mats, No. 12 TCNJ beat No. 14 Ithaca 23-9, St. Cloud State shut out Division III Johnson & Wales 43-0, UPJ beat American International 51-4, Johnson & Wales beat TCNJ 25-10, Ithaca beat fellow D3 Castleton 35-6, while TCNJ beat Castleton 30-12. St. Cloud State had a second shutout, beating American International 54-0. UPJ opened with a win over Ithaca 25-12, Johnson & Wales also beat American International 45-3 and Castleton did get one win, beating Alfred State 49-0.  At North Penn High School in Pennsylvania, Drexel opened up its season 2-0 beating Division II West Liberty 32-9 and SIUE 18-15. Ebed Jarrell’s sudden victory win over Chase Deihl at 165 was a crucial win for the Dragons as was Bryan McLaughin’ major decision at 197 over Aric Bohn. SIUE edged West Liberty 17-15. Out west, Cal Baptist, in its second year transitioning to Division I, shut out NAIA Life Pacific 51-0.  In the land of cheese and Spotted Cow, UW-Parkside topped UW-Whitewater 32-19 to maintain possession of the Sake Bottle, a weird traveling trophy between the D2 and D3 schools. When I think Whitewater, or Kenosha, which is where Parkside is located, I think Japanese rice wine.   In Division III, it’s weird to say No. 3 Wartburg, but No. 3 Wartburg won its 214th conference dual in a row, beating Nebraska Wesleyan 39-6. With seven bonus victories, the Knights dominated, but at 133, Nebraska Wesleyan All-American Eron Haynes got down early, then got up, then held on for a wild 23-17 win. In New England, it was New England College beating Plymouth State 35-13. The Pilgrims also beat New Hampshire’s club team 51-0. Southern Maine beat Bridgewater State 30-10, while Johnson & Wales, with a split squad, beat Bridgewater State 34-8 and Southern Maine 21-11.  In the NAIA, Southeastern’s 52-0 win over Keiser wasn’t the most impressive thing about the dual. It was the first dual for Southeastern under new coach Brandon Jorge, it was the first dual in school history for the new program at Keiser, and it was the first varsity college dual in the state of Florida since 1986. Returning All-Americans Dylan Chatterton, Olson Delisca and Ethan Owen all had bonus victories on the day.  On the women’s side, No. 4 Wayland Baptist picked off Colorado Mesa 29-18. All-Americans Nina Pham at 101 pounds, and Desiree Zavala at 136 pounds, picked up big victories in the dual.  Tournaments:  At the Bison Open in Fargo, Minnesota had five champs, while North Dakota State had four. Joe Russell once told me, the season starts when you have a hot dog at the Bison. I’d counter with a beer at The Turf - which is Turf reference No. 3 this week! At 141 pounds, Minnesota’s Mitch McKee picked up a 16-second fall in the finals. At 149, Brayton Lee of Minnesota beat teammate Jakob Bergeland 7-5, it’s notable since Bergeland beat South Dakota State’s Henry Pohlmeyer in the semifinals.  Roger Williams won the Ned McGinley Invitational with 150 points and had two champs and three runners-up, while second place York (Pa.) finished with 115.5 points and two champs. Springfield was third with two champs and 104 points.  Notable matches from the Mountaineer Invitational and Open, which had two brackets with those particular names - interesting. Oregon State’s Devan Turner topped App State’s Codi Russel at 133 pounds, Logan Parks of Central Michigan beat App State’s Matt Zovistoski 3-2 at 157, while Matt Stencel of CMU beat Cary Miller of App State 3-1 in sudden victory at heavyweight.  Gannon won the Mount Union Invitational with 154 pounds, followed by Seton Hill at 113.5. Lake Erie was third with 100.  At Oklahoma City University’s open, the story there is the first competition for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. They’ll host their first dual on November 24, but Saturday was their first official competition as a squad. At 133, Paul Bianchi, a transfer and past NCAA qualifier from North Dakota State, finished second, falling to Oklahoma State’s Reece Witcraft. The Trojans had three more placers - Jayden Carson at 125, Joe Bianchi at 141 and Jose Champagne at 157. As far as the tournament went, Oklahoma State won nine of the 10 weights. The other was a double by Oklahoma at heavyweight.   On the women’s side, the Waldorf Open finished up in Forest City, Iowa. What’s also notable here is for the first time, two Iowa schools had women’s wrestling programs competing in the same event - Grand View and host Waldorf - while Augsburg, a Division III powerhouse on the men’s side, competed in its first event as a varsity women’s program. As far as the tournament goes, Jamestown crushed it, with five champions. Grand View had two, Augsburg had co-champs at 123. Waldorf also had a champ.  PROMO CODE WARNING There are approximately 63 active wrestling podcasts out there, with 20 of them on the Mat Talk Podcast Network. Notables on the Docket for November 10: Northwestern is at Virginia Tech for the Mound on the Mat outdoor dual, Navy’s at Penn State, Illinois and Army West Point are at Chattanooga, Campbell’s at Ohio, Stanford opens up Ohio State’s new facility and there’s a crap ton of tournaments around the country, too many to list here, but there is the Journeymen Collegiate Classic in Troy, N.Y. FROM THE DWN: A school district in Pennsylvania is reversing its course after being challenged on a policy that prevented girls from competing in combat sports, like wrestling, against boys. Seventh-grader Katalyna Borreli loves wrestling and wanted to compete for her junior high team until she was told it was against the district’s policy. Read about how that policy got reversed via WFMZ. This has also been a prolific topic among Facebook groups. Dan Lobdell, aka The Wrestling Nomad, looks at Jaydin Eierman’s impact on the Iowa lineup and the team race for the NCAA Division I Championships - in 2021.  Trackwrestling’s Andy Hamilton gets a tour of the UW-La Crosse wrestling facility as coach Dave Malecek enters his 14th season at one of the top wrestling programs in the country. Hey Weight Loss Nation! www.TheWeightLossNation.com I recently visited "Key West" with my Friends Christy Haussler & Allison Willwood of Team Podcast. Team Podcast They took me all over "The Keys."  I went to some great restaurants and did some great activities. I'll be telling you about them in upcoming episodes. Today, I'm going to tell you about the Famous "Sloppy Joe's" in Key West. Sloppy Joe’s – Key West 201 Duval Street, Key West, FL 33040                             corner of Greene St since 1939                                         (305) 294-5717  Hours Daily 9:00 – 4:00am Sunday 12:00 – 4:00am   History Sometimes it’s difficult to imagine that the United States went through a period of time, when Alcohol was “prohibited” and illegal. That period of time, from January 16, 1920 (when the 18th Amendment, which banned the manufacture, transportation and sale of intoxicating liquor went into effect) until the ratification of the 21st Amendment (The Gov’t had to write another amendment to repeal the 18th Amendment) went into effect on December 5, 1933. On that same day, December 5, 1933, became the “Official beginning” of the famous Sloppy Joe’s in Key West. Joe Russell, became a legitimate saloon owner of the “Blind Pig” which served alcohol to the Key West community. The saloon changed it’s name to the “Silver Slipper,” with the addition of a Dance Floor, but that didn’t matter to the regulars who enjoyed good friends, gambling and fifteen cent whiskeys. It was Ernest Hemmingway, the famous American novelist, and patron of Russell’s bar from the start…..who encouraged Russell to change the name of the bar to “Sloppy Joe’s” Sloppy Joe’s was adopted from Jose Garcia Rio’s “Havana Club” which sold liquor and iced seafood. Because the floor was always WET with melted ice, the patrons would tease Jose….known as the American Name of  “Joe” with running a “Sloppy Place.” The  name ….”Sloppy Joe” stuck. Joe Russell migrated “Sloppy Joe’s” down the street to the now famous “201 Duval Street” on May 5, 1937, when his rent was raised to $4.00 a week from $3.00 a week and he refused to pay the rent increase. Joe Russell bought the building for $2,500. Hemmingway was a good friend of Joe Russell’s and was a frequent patron at Sloppy Joe’s until he left Key West in 1939. Today, Sloppy Joe’s operates very similar to the come-as-you-are attitude Joe Russell branded back in 1933. The restaurant, entertainment and retail divisions, compliment each other and serve the Key west community 365 days a year. You’ll find the Restaurant serves All-American favorites, with a touch of Caribbean flare. The menu is mainly comprised of Burgers, Sandwiches and Salads. “Sloppy Joe’s” is a “Favorite” Tourist attraction. The food choices in this restaurant are going to be fan-favorite “Pub Food” with daily specials. For “Healthy” eating, I have a couple of recommendations. For Salads…I would have either the “House Salad” or “Greek Salad.” Or…..I would order the grilled or blackened Chicken or Fish Sandwich and tell your waiter/waitress to “skip” the bread. The House Salad is made with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, cheddar & jack cheese and croutons. Tell your waiter or waitress to “skip” the croutons and add some “grilled” chicken or fish. You’ll pay $3 - $4 extra for the added meat. They have Balsamic Vinaigrette or Italian dressing as the “healthier” than the other salad dressing choices. Ask for your dressing on the side. The “Greek Salad” comes with Fresh Greens with a hard boiled egg, black olives, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, red onion, roasted red peppers, pepperoncini and Feta Cheese with a Greek Vinaigrette Dressing. $11.95 For this review….I had……the Peel & Eat “Key West Pink Shrimp” OMG!!! Steamed in beer & served chilled ½ lb $9.95 you get 4-5 shrimp  1lb $17.25 you get  8-10 shrimp I had the ½ pound……and I’m telling you…..Key West Pink Shrimp is the BEST Shrimp I’ve ever had! Then……my guests and I shared the famous Original “Sloppy Joe Sandwich.” Ground beef in a sweet, tomato sauce, with onions, peppers & spices.  $9.95 I had “One Bite” of the infamous sandwich…..and it took me right back to my childhood. I remember having sloppy Joe’s A LOT! Who remembers having Sloppy Joe’s as a kid? Well….Sloppy Joe’s in Key West has it down pat. Not a “Healthy” choice at all with all the sugar in their sauce and the white bun…..but….hey.. you have to have one bite…..so you can say, “I’ve eaten at the original Sloppy Joe’s in Key West.” Finally…..I had some of the “Mojo Pulled Pork Taco.” You get 3 corn or flour tortillas, filled with mojo pulled pork, grilled onions, served with Black Bean Sauce & Lime $10.50 How do you make a Mojo Pulled Pork Taco Healthy? Open the tortilla and scrape the pork, beans & onions onto you plate THEN……eat it with your Fork! You don’t need the tortillas! You do have to enjoy yourself on vacation! It’s all about using your brain Nation! You HAVE to LOOK at Menus BEFORE you walk into a restaurant…..ESPECIALLY when you are going to eat at a FAMOUS place like “Sloppy Joe’s” in Key West! You MUST stay FOCUSED! Be MINDFUL! You’re listening to some good bands, having a good time with friends or family……..It is EASY to get caught up in the moment and start eating food that’s right in front of you….like French Fries……Chips & Salsa….you know what I mean. Stay Focused and Order the House or Greek Salad with grilled chicken or fish. It will Fill you up and you’ll be eating Healthy AND you’ll have a good time! The ENTERTAINMENT is top notch at Sloppy Joe’s. Bands from all over play at Sloppy Joe’s from noon till late into the morning. I had the pleasure of listening to “for Pete’s Sake” who played some good covers, like “Hotel California” which is one of my favorites! You can check out the Entertainment calendar on Sloppy Joe’s Website. https://goo.gl/qfPFNP They have an Annual “Hemmingway Look Alike” Contest, where white bearded men come from all over the world to honor our beloved author’s birthday. This year, the 38th Annual contest runs from July  19 – July 22nd They will even have representatives from the Hemmingway look-alike society on hand, to sign up new members. The website is  www.papalookalikes.com    The retail store has lots of “Sloppy Joe” merchandise. You can buy Tee Shirts, Glassware, Party Supplies and other Souvenirs. Check out the online store. I have the link for you.  https://store.sloppyjoes.com/   Time to Rate Sloppy Joe’s!   Remember…..1 Avocado means the Restaurant was “Ehhh”…..so it was “Fair.” 2 Avocados means the restaurant was “Good” just not Awesome. It was missing the mark on the service provided or the atmosphere, not enough healthy foods….  and finally….. “3”  Avocados means you are going to have a “GREAT” Restaurant Experience. You’ll have Great Food with Healthy options, Great Service and a Great Atmosphere. In other words…..Go THERE! For my “Overall Experience,” I give Sloppy Joe’s 2 Avocados!! The atmosphere is fantastic. The entertainment is fantastic! The only reason I can’t give Sloppy Joe’s a BIG 3 Avocados…is….because…..they simply don’t have enough “Healthy Options” on their Menu. You can have salad or grilled chicken or grilled fish taco. The Key West Shrimp is great too….but I can go ANYWHERE and get these Healthy Food Options.   Great Place, Lots of fun….just be prepared to order salad with chicken or fish.   Add some more “Healthy Food Options” to your menu Sloppy Joe’s! Give me a delicious grilled Grouper with Brown Rice and Grilled Veggies. Or…..a Vegetable Soup.   Still……Sloppy Joe’s is a really Good place to visit   I want to personally thank Becky Lawrence, General Manager at Sloppy Joe’s and all the servers and very friendly bartenders, who made my experience at Sloppy Joe’s a memorable one.   If you are heading to Key West for a vacation, make sure Sloppy Joe’s is on your list for restaurants to visit!   Hey Weight Loss Nation! www.TheWeightLossNation.com If you are ready to "finally" lose weight and keep it off forever, you need to "join Weight Loss Nation."
