Healing does not mean remembering to work through it all, because sometimes this is not the best action to take - it can even traumatise us further. If we want to get to place where we have adjusted to a more healthy lifestyle, we must listen to what we need. We should focus on is exercises to ground ourselves in the present moment, and recognise when we tend to things that are not good for us or self-destructive. what's important is to be able to do grounding exercises to ground ourselves in the, in the present moment and you know, to recognize when we tend to do things that are maybe self-destructive, not good for. When we acknowledge and we recognise our behaviours, it gives us a lot of answers moving forward. Join myself and psychologist Romy Kunitz in this episode, part two of last week's episode "Relationship difficulties, adjustment disorder and repetition compulsion". Find out more here:https://www.mmmpodcast.me/ep165
Do you consistently repeat bad behaviours or traumatic events? Are you struggling to get over a breakup, a passing of a loved one, or big changes happening in your life? Romy Kunitz is a highly experienced psychologist who specialises mainly in adults and couple therapy. In this episode she brings her expertise on how to navigate change and stop repeating negative patterns. Actually, a lot of the time when people are going through trauma, they don't realise they're going through trauma. For example, COVID was a trauma for most people. It has been a massive adjustment for everybody, and with that uncertainty, lack of control and change has caused people to go through adjustment disorder. As human beings, we cannot avoid trauma, loss or change, so join myself and Romy in this episode to discuss how best to navigate tough times, overcome repetition compulsion and how to adapt. About his own work, Kunitz has said: “The poem comes in the form of a blessing—‘like rapture breaking on the mind,' as I tried to phrase it in my youth. Through the years I have found this gift of poetry to be life-sustaining, life-enhancing, and absolutely unpredictable. Does one live, therefore, for the sake of poetry? No, the reverse is true: poetry is for the sake of the life.”Kunitz published his first book of poetry, Intellectual Things, in 1930. Fourteen years later, he published his second book, Passport to War. His recent books include: The Collected Poems of Stanley Kunitz (W. W. You must admit, it is not every day that you get to meet an 'everyday mystic'! So, this Sunday I will not miss this wonderful opportunity to be inspired by our guest speaker, Branessa Kunitz, RScP, who believes that by embodying and incorporating spiritual principles and practices, we can all be more empowered to live joy-filled, peaceful, and prosperous lives. About her talk, Making Magic!, Branessa describes, 'What a joyful intention for life. Life does not create randomly! We are each, through our understanding and to the degree we cooperate with it, using the Law of Mind to create a magical, joyful, enchanting life.' I hunch we are in for an amazing treat! How do we view fitness in our lives? Today, there is a small, but significant population who have shirked its hobby-like status and have transformed fitness into veritable outlook on life itself. They seek to embody what writer and journalist Kunitz calls, the practicing life. But is this just another cultish byproduct of late modernity, or does being physically have deeper roots than we might expect? I recently spoke to Daniel, whose book, Lift: Fitness Culture from Naked Greeks and Acrobats to jazzercise and Ninja Warriors, explores the social dynamics of what it means for humans to be physically fit.
James and Jaana Kunitz share their story of how they went from being competitive dancers to creating fitness programs to help others stay fit and lose weight. RFAs are starting to sign with their teams...will we see more over the next two weeks? Marner gets less than Matthews. Morrissey is not an RFA situation, but signs an extension. Jets still need to sign Connor and Laine however. Dustin Byfuglien has taken a leave from the Jets but no reason given by the team. The Blackhawks have signed Brian Campbell and Chris Kunitz as player advisors. Smart move for the team when you consider the playoff experience and number of Cups these two former players have won between them. Ryan Spooner has taken his game to Lugano in Switzerland. Any parent will tell you, kids grow like weeds. But you might be surprised to learn that because of those quick growth spurts an overwhelming majority of children are wearing shoes too small for their feet. A recent survey pegged it at 65%! We headed to Edmonton’s first shoe family the Kunitz to find out how to size kids right. And to our surprise they recommend buying kids winter boots 2 sizes bigger. Good news for any parent’s wallet. Matt and Steve are talking about this week in sports updates, including: Riverhounds had a Nil-Nil tie with the Charleston Battery, but it looks like it wasn't that exciting of a match. The Hounds are on the road to Louisville City. They are currently tied for second in the group with Louisville with 25 points each. Matt gives us some World Cup updates. In PGA news from Connecticut at TPC River Highlands Bubba Watson had a hell of a third and fourth round to come out with the win. Watson had -17 total shooting -7 on the final round. The tour goes to TPC Potomac at Avenel in Potomac MD northwest of DC for the Quicken Loans National. Tiger is on the green, but a lot of other big names are not. There's no DJ, Spieth, Kepca, Mickelson. We're counting down to the Open. Penguins sign Bryan Rust to a four-year deal, leaving them with $4.2 mill to spend in cap space. It's likely that Oleksiak and Sheahan will get those nods. The Pens also signed Sprong and Simone. Crosby has reached out to Kunitz, and it looks like Kunitz and the Pens have shown mutual interest in another stint. The Pens are looking to get him for less than $2 mill. Kunitz will be 39 at the start of the season. Le'veon Bell and the Steelers report that they are a lot closer than they were last season on making a deal. Both side hope to come to an agreement before the July 16th deadline. Every year the NFL posts a Top 100 list for the upcoming season. The top ten this year are: Brady, Brown, Went, Jones, Bell, Gurley, Donald, Brees, V.Miller, and Rodgers. The Pirates are supposedly shopping Cervelli, Dickerson, Harrison, Mercer, and Freese. Inhibitors of coagulation factors from blood-feeding animals display a wide variety of structural motifs and inhibition mechanisms. We have isolated a novel inhibitor from the cattle tick Boophilus microplus, one of the most widespread parasites of farm animals. The inhibitor, which we have termed boophilin, has been cloned and overexpressed in Escherichia coli. Mature boophilin is composed of two canonical Kunitz-type domains, and inhibits not only the major procoagulant enzyme, thrombin, but in addition, and by contrast to all other previously characterised natural thrombin inhibitors, significantly interferes with the proteolytic activity of other serine proteinases such as trypsin and plasmin. The crystal structure of the bovine alpha-thrombin.boophilin complex, refined at 2.35 A resolution reveals a non-canonical binding mode to the proteinase. The N-terminal region of the mature inhibitor, Q16-R17-N18, binds in a parallel manner across the active site of the proteinase, with the guanidinium group of R17 anchored in the S(1) pocket, while the C-terminal Kunitz domain is negatively charged and docks into the basic exosite I of thrombin. This binding mode resembles the previously characterised thrombin inhibitor, ornithodorin which, unlike boophilin, is composed of two distorted Kunitz modules. Unexpectedly, both boophilin domains adopt markedly different orientations when compared to those of ornithodorin, in its complex with thrombin. The N-terminal boophilin domain rotates 9 degrees and is displaced by 6 A, while the C-terminal domain rotates almost 6 degrees accompanied by a 3 A displacement. The reactive-site loop of the N-terminal Kunitz domain of boophilin with its P(1) residue, K31, is fully solvent exposed and could thus bind a second trypsin-like proteinase without sterical restraints. This finding explains the formation of a ternary thrombin.boophilin.trypsin complex, and suggests a mechanism for prothrombinase inhibition in vivo.

Bovine pancreas contains two polypeptide trypsin inhibitors that are not homologous and differ in their inhibitory activity towards chymotrypsin, kallikrein, elastase, and other serine proteinases. The Kunitz inhibitor and the Kazal inhibitor are present in approximately equimolar concentrations in bovine pancreatic tissue, yet only the Kazal inhibitor is detectable in the pancreatic juice. The Kazal inhibitor has been named the pancreatic secretory trypsin inhibitor, PSTI because its concentration in the pancreatic juice parallels that of the exocrine secretory proteins. The Kunitz inhibitor is considered the intracellular inhibitor, however, no direct information is available concerning the intracellular localization of these inhibitors in the pancreas. The preparation of /sup 125/I-labeled derivatives of Kazal and Kunitz inhibitors by the lactoperoxidase method and a radioimmunoassay for each inhibitor are described.
