Born in 1905, in Upstate New York, Marion Sheret DeGrazia was a fine artist who had attended State Teachers College in Buffalo New York, and studied sculpture and modeling at Columbia University. She moved from the East Coast to Tucson, Arizona in 1941 with her young son Harold. In 1947, she married prominent southwest artist Ted DeGrazia. Marion was instrumental in the success of DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun, by managing the studio and allowing Ted DeGrazia to travel and show his art. After DeGrazia's death in 1982, Marion continued the work of the foundation until her death in 2002 at the age of 97. Her work, which includes sculpture, paper mache reliefs and paintings, are on display throughout the Gallery in the Sun.DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun is a 10-acre historic landmark nestled in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains in Tucson, Arizona. Opened in 1965, it is home to over 15,000 originals of Ted DeGrazia art pieces including oil paintings, watercolors, ceramics and sculptures. Glaub ihr im Ernst, zwischen Romeo und Julia hätte es gefunkt, wenn er sie gefragt hätte: „Bis du gut durchgekommen?“ Mit ein bisschen Smalltalk-Know-how wird die krampfigste Party zum leichten Event, bei dem ihr einen bleibend angenehmen Eindruck hinterlasst, und Allgemeinwissen ohne Ende könnt ihr da auch noch sammeln. Sogar eine nicht endende Aufzugfahrt mit dem Chef, geht mit zwei, drei lockeren Wohlfühlgags deutlich schneller zu Ende. Reza ist ein Profi auf dem Smalltalk-Parkett. In ihrem Salon „Reza Hair“ kümmert sie sich um Promifrisuren, Hipster-Haircuts oder den frischen Ansatz von ganz normalen Leuten. Dementsprechend breit ist Reza in Sachen Smalltalk aufgestellt. Kein Thema ist ihr fremd, und wenn doch, fragt sie gerne nach. Reza hat sogar extra eine Fortbildung mit dem Schwerpunkt Kommunikation gemacht. Ihr Erfolg besteht aus 50 Prozent Können und 50 Prozent schöne Atmosphäre, sagt Reza. Und ohne Smalltalk läuft da gar nichts. Sarah Köhlen nennt sich selbst „Smalltalk-Expertin“ und hat wirklich alle Handgriffe drauf. Sogar Introvertierte und Hochsensible finden bei Sarah das Werkzeug um sicher um jede Gesprächspause herumzuschippern. I had Lance Laber on the podcast today. He's the Executive Director for the Ted DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun and he's been working with the museum for 40 years, the last 20 as the Executive Director. The DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun has been around since the 1980s and is in the same general area as Medicine Man Gallery in Tucson's Catalina Foothills. Ted DeGrazia was a very well-known artist and at one time Ted would say that he was the best-known artist in the world because of cards UNICEF produced featuring his painting "Los Niños." With that said, Ted DeGrazia was much more than the UNICEF campaign that made him a household name. Exhibits include "DeGrazia's Processions" on display until Jan. 25, 2023; and "DeGrazia's Sombreros" and "DeGrazia's Native Dancers" - both on display until Aug. 31, 2022. DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun is 10-acre historic landmark nestled in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains in Tucson, Arizona. Opened in 1965, it is home to over 15,000 originals of Ted DeGrazia art pieces including oil paintings, watercolors, ceramics and sculptures.
