Welcome to Texarkana, where Death's Interns are working overtime—and the body count is rising.Meet Death's Interns: part-time grim reapers, full-time troubleshooters for the supernatural community. Usually, their biggest headache is keeping the local vampires from picking fights at the all-night diner. But now? They're hunting a killer.Bodies are dropping faster than autumn leaves, and it's not just humans filling up the morgue. Someone—or something—is cutting a bloody swath through Texarkana. As Halloween creeps closer, Death's Interns find themselves in a race against time. Can they unmask the killer before Texarkana's secret community becomes front-page news? Or will long-buried prejudices turn neighbor against neighbor, predator against prey?In a town where death is just another day job, the real challenge is staying alive. If you devoured every episode of Supernatural or Charlaine Harris's Midnight Texas, and loved Terry Pratchett's Night Watch, sink your teeth into this wickedly fun, pulse-pounding urban fantasy. Just remember: in Texarkana, the things that go bump in the night... bump back.Cursed by Fur is a standalone novel and book three in the Once Upon a Curse book series.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/houseofmysteryradio. Tread Perilously's Patreon request month arrives at Midnight, Texas for an episode called "Lemuel Unchained." When a tour bus full of vampires pulls into Midnight, everyone gets prepared for the worst. But Lemuel recognizes the bloodsuckers as his old gang and welcomes their leader, Zachariah. Although things start on an even keel, it's clear they mean for the town to become their home and the citizens their food supply. Will Lem allow them to stay? Will Manfred figure out a way to dispose of the unwanted guests? Will Fiji trust her abilities? And will Olivia get to kick some unexpected ass? Erik and Justin immediately decide on a word to use instead of the slur Midnight, Texas has no problem using in 2017. The pair immediately praise Peter Mensah and Arielle Kebbel, but are less impressed with the show's supposed leads. Justin points out the True Blood connection via author Charlaine Harris, but will a broadcast television version of that show prove successful? Erik notes NBC's spotty record with genre shows. Takeshi's Castle gets a strong recommendation. Zack Snyder gets a surprise defense. Midnight, Texas's character names prove to be overcooked and, naturally enough, Colin Robinson comes up in the conversation.

In Don’t Look Back, Caitlin Kramer, a woman of faith overcoming a tragic past, is one of several people who witness Douglas Helton, a well-liked public figure being assaulted in a park and don't intervene. When Douglas dies and the witnesses are "outed" to the public, they begin to die mysteriously. The public is largely unsympathetic, and think they're being stalked by a person out for revenge. And there are several possible suspects; from the victim's family and friends... to the dogged detective who's taken a strong interest in the case. But Caitlin, determined to seek redemption by solving Douglas' murder, see signs, and experiences eerie events that lead her to believe that something far more insidious is after them... maybe the victim's restless spirit, or even karma itself. But whether the threat is human or supernatural, it's very real. And Caitlin's faith, strength and resolve will be tested as she fights to unravel this mystery before she becomes the final victim.Jeffrey Reddick started in the entertainment industry with an internship at New Line Cinema at age 19, where he worked for 11 years and shot to horror fame with the creation of the Final Destination franchise. He has written on two upcoming Netflix series; one of which is a spinoff of famed Japanese comic book Usagi Yojimbo. Jeffrey’s feature directorial debut, the mystery/thriller Don’t Look Back, is available On Demand.

Today I sit down with television and film actress, Broadway star, and singer-songwriter, Jasmine Cephas Jones. Introduced into the world of entertainment by her father, actor Ron Cephas Jones, and her mother, jazz singer Kim Lesley, Jasmine went to school for the performing arts starting in middle school . She spent many years studying voice at LaGuardia High School in New York City as well as throughout her college years at Berklee College of Music. Today, Jasmine shares the feelings of vulnerability that came soon after where she felt something was missing and was unsure about exactly what kind of career she wanted to pursue. When she realized the missing link she had been searching for was acting, Jasmine immediately committed to studying the craft through experience with the LABrinth Theater Company and training in the Meisner teachings of the Neighborhood Playhouse for Theater. She shares her experiences with the peaks and valleys of the business, from being dropped by an agent, to landing the roles of Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds in the Tony award winning Broadway hit musical, Hamilton. Even after conquering the world of Broadway, Jasmine ventured out to Los Angeles where she reveals she felt as if she was starting from scratch, grinding all over again to prove herself in the business of show business. While she admits to having moments of wanting to give up, Jasmine shares the mindsets she’s carried with her over the years to help keep her moving through those moments of uncertainty. The belief she has in herself has earned her an extensive list of credits including roles on, HBO’s “Girls” and “Mrs. Fletcher”, as well as roles in films such as “Blindspotting”, “The Photograph”, “Monsters and Men” and can currently be seen on Quibi’s newly released, “#FreeRayShawn”. If you’re looking for tips, be sure to take notes as Jasmine reveals details about her own process for creating riveting characters that light up the screen. Lately it seems like the older boys have been getting to be bigger and bigger pains. We've repeatedly caught them sneaking around early in the morning, stealing treats from the cabinets, and outright lying to us. Maybe it's because they are in a new school, and are picking up bad habits from other kids. Maybe it's because they seem to be getting bullied by a couple other boys on the playground. Either way, it's been trying our patience for a few weeks now as they come home with increasingly jerky attitudes. We're open to any suggestions to remedy said jerkyness. On a happier note (at least for her) ReAnna renewed her library card! Let's all remember, she's going to school to be a librarian, so a trip to the library is fun times... fun... times. Of course this means stories about going to the library that have way more excitement than stories about going to the library should, bless her heart. In a similar kind of connected vein, we've gotten pretty hooked on the NBC show "Midnight, Texas" which is based on the book series by Charlaine Harris. Naturally, after the season ended, ReAnna had to see if the books lined up with the show. So, on her most recent trip to the library, she borrowed the audio book of the first novel in the series. Its been fun listening to the book being read and hearing the differences in the characters compared to the show. We definitely can agree on one thing for sure, Lemuel is better on the show. Looks like commuter podcast listening is gonna have to take a break until we finish this 8-disk story.Send us your thoughts, and leave a review at Facebook.com/momanddadcussSubscribe, Rate and Review on Apple PodcastsEmail us at momanddadcuss@gmail.com

The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Dylan Bruce of NBC's Midnight, Texas. About Midnight, Texas: Welcome to a place where being normal is really quite strange. From Niels Arden Oplev, the visionary director of “Mr. Robot,” and based on the hit book series from author Charlaine Harris (“True Blood”), comes a journey into a remote Texas town where no one is who they seem. From vampires and witches to psychics and hit men, Midnight is a mysterious safe haven for those who are different. As the town members fight off outside pressures from rowdy biker gangs, ever-suspicious cops and their own dangerous pasts, they band together and form a strong and unlikely family. About Dylan Bruce: Dylan was born in Vancouver, Canada on April 21, 1980, and raised in both Vancouver and Seattle, Washington. He is known for his roles in Orphan Black and Arrow and has appeared in many television shows including the mini-series 24: Conspiracy, The Sopranos, CSI: NY and daytime drama As the World Turns. He made his official film debut with the fast-paced action outing Unstoppable, which stars veteran actor Denzel Washington and Chris Pine. Dylan Bruce now stars as Bobo Winthrop in the new NBC series “Midnight, Texas”
