In this episode we chat to Dan Myerson, Executive Chairman and CEO of Foran Mining, a company at the forefront of the copper revolution and one of the only single-asset copper developers actively building a mine anywhere in the world. In this episode, we dig into why Foran remains undervalued despite its remarkable progress at the McIlvenna Bay project — now nearing 50% completion and on track for commercial production by mid-2026. Dan shares insights on market sentiment toward pre-production copper companies, the strategic importance of Foran's Saskatchewan jurisdiction, and why now might be a pivotal moment for investors to take a closer look. We also explore what lies beyond McIlvenna Bay, and how Foran is positioning itself in a copper market grappling with supply constraints and long-term demand growth. Stay tuned as we unpack the milestones, the macro trends, and the big vision driving one of Canada's most exciting copper stories. KEY TAKEAWAYS Despite its achievements, Foran Mining is perceived as undervalued in the market. The disconnect between perceived and actual risk is a factor, suggesting that the company's fundamentals do not align with its current valuation. Saskatchewan is recognised as one of the best mining jurisdictions globally, with a supportive government and low after-tax cash costs Beyond McIlvenny Bay, Foran Mining has significant exploration potential with discoveries like the Tesla and Bridge zones. These areas could lead to increased production capacity  With the company positioned at a critical juncture before production, there is a strong argument for investment. BEST MOMENTS "We are the only single asset company building an actual greenfield copper mine in the world today, which when you actually say that out loud is quite amazing." "The actual risk versus the perceived risk is very different... the perceived risk that's still involved is much higher than the actual risk." "The valuation where it's at is the cheapest it's ever been in its history... now is the best time that you could ever have to buy the stock." "Saskatchewan is one of the best jurisdictions in the world... very pragmatic and practical government. I'd say that's the best thing." With a stellar lineup featuring tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson, bassist Ron Carter, and drummer Elvin Jones, the album showcases Tyner's unique modal jazz style, blending African rhythmic influences and his signature wide interval voicings. The album's compositions, all written by Tyner wrote, demonstrate his incredible range as a pianist and composer, with tracks like "Passion Dance" and "Contemplation" now regarded as jazz standards. The interplay between the musicians is dynamic, with Henderson's fluid solos, Carter's solid bass work, and Jones's explosive drumming providing a perfect backdrop for Tyner's improvisations. The album balances uptempo tracks, like "Four by Five," with slower, more meditative pieces, such as "Search for Peace," highlighting Tyner's ability to navigate diverse moods and textures. The Real McCoy is widely praised for its deep emotional resonance and technical brilliance, solidifying McCoy Tyner as one of his generation's most influential jazz pianists.Signature Tracks: "Passion Dance", "Contemplation", "Four By Five" Full Album YouTube Spotify  Playlist     YouTube  Spotify

He dispelled common misconceptions about the pawn business, explaining that it primarily involves making loans on collateral, much like a bank does with mortgages, but with a wider range of items beyond real estate.Stanton's energy and humor made this one of the funniest episodes we've recorded. He shared stories about his successful ventures in the pawn industry, including high-value items like jewelry and collectibles, and how he has diversified into real estate and community service. His commitment to self-promotion and community engagement has helped reshape the perception of pawn shops, especially after the popularity of shows like "Pawn Stars."We also explored Stanton's impressive work ethic and daily routines, which have contributed to his success. You don't need to practice acupuncture for very long to realize that people frequently slip into a deep state of quietude and repose. Often enough, they come out of a session with a completely different look to their eyes, they move slower and with a more integrated coordination, they're focused less on the noise in their life, and more on the potency of the present. In this conversation with John Myerson, we explore acupuncture and non-ordinary states of consciousness. This was part of a PhD dissertation he did in Psychology, but what's more interesting is how he has evolved this exploration into his clinical work. A practice which looks quite different from his original inquiry of using needles and music to induce non-ordinary states.Listen into this discussion of trance, leaning into the yin influence that comes from power under and how getting out of the way just might be the best way to help others.

You've been hitting the gym regularly, maintaining a balanced diet, and following all the best advice from your favorite health gurus, but you're not quite seeing the results you've expected. Have you ever thought, "Is it just my genes?" Have you ever told someone else that your current state of health is just genetic? If so, you're certainly not alone. I heard it all the time when I worked on-on-one with clients as a personal trainer. Many people question why they can't bulk up or slim down as quickly as their friends or why some people can eat all they want without gaining a pound. Is it truly down to genes, or is there more to it? In this article, I will guide you through the complex interplay between our DNA and our fitness levels. By the end of this read, you'll have a newfound understanding of why we are the way we are and, more importantly, what you can do about it. Together, we'll explore fascinating scientific research and dive into topics like how genes can influence physical traits relevant to fitness, the impact of genetics on how our bodies respond to exercise, and the never-ending "nature vs. nurture" debate. Genetics and Fitness 101 You might've breezed through high school biology, nodding along when the teacher mentioned DNA, genes, and chromosomes. But let's face it, back then, you probably didn't imagine you'd be revisiting the topic in the context of your gym routine. So, let's roll up our sleeves and demystify the relationship between your genetics and fitness. The Basics of Genetics First things first: What exactly is genetics? At its core, genetics is the study of genes, the segments of DNA that provide the instructions for making proteins in our bodies. Think of your genes as the blueprint, the original plan that determines everything from your eye color to, yes, certain aspects of your fitness profile.Ridley, M. (2006). Genome: The Autobiography of a Species in 23 Chapters. Harper Perennial. Every cell in your body contains DNA, and every DNA molecule comprises two strands that twist together to form a shape we often refer to as the 'double helix.' This DNA is broken down into units called genes. Imagine your DNA as a cookbook and genes as individual recipes. They dictate how things should be constructed and function. How Genetics Can Influence Fitness Levels Now, the juicy part: how do these genes affect our fitness? Your genes can influence many factors related to your physical capabilities. For example, a study published in the Journal of Applied Physiology found that individuals with certain genetic markers were more predisposed to have a higher percentage of slow-twitch muscle fibers. These fibers are essential for endurance sports like marathon running.Costill, D. L., Daniels, J., Evans, W., Fink, W., Krahenbuhl, G., & Saltin, B. (1976). Skeletal muscle enzymes and fiber composition in male and female track athletes. Journal of Applied Physiology, 40(2), 149-154. Conversely, some genetic markers indicate a higher percentage of fast-twitch muscle fibers. If you've ever marveled at the explosive power of sprinters or weightlifters, you can bet that fast-twitch muscle fibers play a significant role in their prowess. Real-life Examples of Genetic Factors Affecting Fitness To make this even clearer, let's discuss some real-world examples. Have you heard of the ACE gene? Research published in the European Journal of Applied Physiology points to the fact that individuals with a specific variant of the ACE gene might have an edge in endurance events. On the other hand, a different variant of the same gene is linked to strengths in power and sprint activities.Myerson, S., Hemingway, H., Budget, R., Martin, J., Humphries, S., & Montgomery, H. (1999). Human angiotensin I-converting enzyme gene and endurance performance. European Journal of Applied Physiology, 80(3), 224-230. Another interesting gene is ACTN3. This particular gene has been dubbed the "sprint ...

In general, everything around us is something of a gamble and everything we do is essentially a gamble and consists of weighing up odds. Life is but a series of gambles. Everything has risks. And our best bet is to learn how to make good bets. This is true in healthcare. Healthcare leaders are gambling on a daily basis as they try to navigate the long list of variables and changing demands of our health systems. Compelling evidence and data tells us that the fee-for-service model may have worked in the past but is no longer serving us. Fee for service should be a waning system being replaced by value-based care that as you will hear has and is delivering value to institutions. Your better pill to swallow is not to leave money on the healthcare table by leading your whole organization to commit to value-based care. By: Jeremy Myerson Now that the dust is beginning to settle on patterns of work after the global pandemic, there is a growing consensus that hybrid working is the way forward. This combines some office attendance with days working at home or in other spaces such as a local satellite or coworking venue. But what makes hybrid working successful and what are the pitfalls facing employers as they try and institute a new hybrid working policy? How to create a successful hybrid work strategy, Jeremy Myerson There are three cornerstones of a successful hybrid strategy: people, place and technology. The secret to hybrid working lies in getting the balance right between investment in each of these categories in order to provide a high-quality working experience. Technology – enabling inclusion and home working Rapid deployment of technology created the conditions for the hybrid model. But while digital tools are the great enablers, there is also growing recognition that technology can itself be a barrier to flexible new ways of working. For every workplace study that highlights the productivity benefits of a seamless digital experience and the use of data to create a feedback loop for continuous improvement, another will share horror stories of frustration and time wasted due to poor equipment, faulty systems, and failure to upgrade physical settings and user protocols. Technology for hybrid is not about tech for its own sake but about the impact on employee performance and wellbeing. After an initial honeymoon period in the pandemic, unprecedented access to digital tools in the home led to employee overwork and burnout. Now, as companies bring people back to the office as part of a hybrid model in which the home still features, there is a need for careful balance in terms of the quality of digital tools that companies provide, how they are used by employees and how they are deployed across a more distributed and diverse landscape of work. Place – making the office a destination Technology might enable working outside the workplace, but the office still continues to play an important role in worker's lives. Companies should repurpose their office space to avoid the ‘hybrid hell' of an ocean of empty desks that nobody wants or uses. But how far they switch to social and collaborative space depends on what the company does – it is all a question of balance. Hybrid means more choice in how and where people work. So, the office ‘place' must become a destination that people choose to go to. Mandating people back to the office has not been effective. A better strategy is to create a superior workplace experience through great design and helpful amenities that acts as a magnet. There is growing evidence that people want space for privacy, focus and video calls in the new hybrid office as well as for face to-face collaboration and socialising. Even pre-pandemic, workers often complained being unable to concentrate in open-plan offices. Two years of working in splendid isolation at home has only emphasised the potential distractions caused by other people. What is not in doubt is the drive by companies to relocate in high-quality, greener buildings that support health and wellbeing. In addition, research from Japan suggests that productivity might improve when using a diverse range of workplaces rather than a more binary home/office setup. This supports an argument for a more polycentric approach to workplace strategy, with multiple places to work on offer at all times. People – listening to feedback and creating wellbeing It's one thing to transform your office and update your technology, but if you're not listening to what your employees say they need, then you aren't providing a good hybrid experience. Companies should work with their employees in a transparent and open way to collect the data needed to inform the hybrid decision-making process. This is not an exact science, it is based on trial and error, and constant feedback is importan...

Today I have Jay Myerson on, Director of Clinical Development at Performance Physical Therapy and adjunct faculty at Quinnipiac. We met at CSM doing a crazy early CrossFit workout. Jay's got a cool story about carving out a killer role for himself, blending clinical work, teaching, and mentorship, all without having to start his own thing from scratch. We dive deep into committing to clinical excellence and why your soft skills are just as crucial as your manual skills. Jay went the traditional route initially, then pursued advanced certs, residency, and fellowship. He realized the in network model was leading to burnout and was about to launch his own cash practice when an opportunity arose with Performance PT. They needed someone to develop their clinicians, and Jay wanted to treat, mentor, and teach. It was a perfect match, allowing him to create his dream job within a growing company.
