Christopher Landon - director of Happy Death Day and Freaky - is back with his latest film, Drop. I was a HUGE fan of both of those crowd-pleasing, horror-comedies (one of the most underutilized genres in Hollywood today) but I didn't quite love the premise or trailer for Drop. I don't know if that's because I was expecting kind of his usual shtick of a fun sci-fi spin on a slasher. Even Heart Eyes, which he wrote alongside one of his Freaky co-writer Michael Kennedy, was a slasher combined with another genre, rom-coms. And, to great success I might add. I just thought the premise required such a crazy leap of suspension of disbelief that I just couldn't get into the idea. Did the film win me over? Find out in this review!Drop:Directed by: Christopher LandonWritten by: Jillian Jacobs, Christopher RoachProduced by: Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller, Cameron FullerExecutive Producers: Macdara Kelleher, Sam Lerner, Ron LynchMusic by: Bear McCrearyCinematography by: Marc SpicerEditing by: Ben BaudhuinCasting by: Ally Conover, Sarah Domeier Lindo, Terri TaylorProduction Design by: Susie CullenCostume Design by: Gwen Jeffares HourieCast: Meghann Fahy, Brandon Sklenar, Violett Beane, Jacob Robinson, Reed Diamond, Gabrielle Ryan, Jeffery Self, Ed Weeks, Travis NelsonSynopsis: Violet, a widowed mother on her first date in years, arrives at an upscale restaurant where she is relieved that her date, Henry, is more charming and handsome than she expected. But their chemistry begins to curdle as Violet begins being irritated and then terrorized by a series of anonymous drops to her phone.
Drop is about a woman who goes on a really, really bad date, replete with ominous drop messages, murder, and her family being put in peril. Rachel joins us to discuss this exciting new thriller from Christopher Landon and Blumhouse.
Reed Diamond and Chuck Shute delve into the timeless appeal of Pixar movies, emphasizing the importance of a strong script. Reed shares his experiences working on "Drop," a thriller filmed in Ireland, highlighting the practical sets and collaborative environment. They also touch on the impact of tax incentives on film production, the evolution of live music experiences, and the importance of storytelling in acting, with anecdotes about working with notable actors and directors. Reed Diamond discusses his acting philosophy, emphasizing the importance of being in the moment and collaborating with fellow actors. He contrasts this with the competitive, cutthroat environment of "Homicide," where actors actively tried to undermine each other. Diamond admires strategic actors like Val Kilmer but prefers a more spontaneous, improvisational approach. He also reflects on the impact of social media and politics on society, advocating for authenticity, empathy, and local action. Diamond promotes his upcoming film "Drop," highlighting its intense, well-crafted narrative and the collaborative effort behind it.0:00:00 - Intro0:00:20 - Rankin/Bass, Claymation & Kids Movies 0:04:45 - Movies from 70s/80s, Anora & Test of Time 0:11:25 - New "Drop" Film, Script, Production, Casting & Location 0:22:10 - Cheaper to Film Outside of Los Angeles 0:25:22 - Statue of Liberty & New York Scene 0:30:45 - Music Scenes, Concerts & Punk Rock 0:38:28 - Working with Other Actors & Being Authentic 0:44:40 - Working on Homicide & Crazy Stories 0:51:03 - Smart Tricks, Being Difficult & Bad Behavior 0:55:40 - Val Kilmer & Cunning Strategy of Actors/Actresses 1:04:03 - Improvising Vs. The Orphan Black franchise returns to TV with Orphan Black: Echoes, and our own Joe Reid returns to talk about the sequel starring Krysten Ritter, Reed Diamond, and a whole assload of strawberry Jell-O. Is the new iteration a pale (pink) imitation of the original? Might it benefit from streaming the whole thing at once? And do its connections to the parent show only point up its weaknesses? Later, we went Around The Dial with (often justly) forgotten sitcoms of the '90s plus The Morning Show and a minor-league 30 For 30, before Hannah schemed to win the lion's share of a place in the Canon for a first-season The Traitors (US). Trebek won, arranged marriage lost, and we pulled some strings to play a nepo-forward Game Time. Get comfy on a living-room soundstage and listen! GUESTS

Reed Diamond.Take a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Reed Diamond. Reed is an actor who has appeared in so many films and television shows that I could spend all day naming. In this episode, we chat about when he decided to become an actor, why he went to the University of North Carolina, and how he got into the Julliard. Then we discuss some of the bands he was in growing up, and the hilarious names & antics that ensued; including making a drum set out of some very unusual items. Next we get into some of his acting credits, including: Dollhouse, Much Ado About Nothing, Homicide: Life On The Streets, and his newest series 'Orphan Black: Echoes'. Reed shares some wonderful stories about working and going to school with the great Andre Braugher, what it is like to be part of the Whedon-verse, and how much fun it is to get to work with his wife on the same show. Along the way; we talk about Reed's 'alter ego' while away at college, reasons to never believe Wikipedia, and how the universe finally revealed the REAL reason he learned to play guitar.
Tread Perilously enters Ampersand Month: five shows with a stylized "and" in the middle of the title. And it all begins with an episode of Franklin & Bash called "Control." When Franklin & Bash are brought in to find a legal remedy for a heckler at a minor league baseball field, they soon discover there is more to this than a bad comedian getting his kicks at a would-be star pitcher. Meanwhile, Damien signs up to be a retiring judge's partner at a golf tournament in hopes of replacing him on the bench and Rachel tries a bull semen case for her brother. Justin declares Franklin & Bash "shockingly not terrible" as Erik attempts to place it in a context of easy TV viewing. Both have a hard time recalling details of the A-plot. Justin evaluates stars Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar. A surprise Reed Diamond appears. Heather Locklear proves to be a trooper. The presence of Malcolm McDowell and Buck Henry prove to be both welcome and, unlike the main plot, memorable. Erik recalls his best time at a baseball stadium. Geography Corner centers on the supposed office of Franklin & Bash. The word "loquat" becomes distracting and the resolution to the A-plot leads to another possible Tread Perilously room character.
In what may be the podcast's shortest episode yet outside of those weird early installments, this one takes on "The Instincts", part one of a boring two parter that's mainly about Reid's dreams. Child abduction too but mostly Reid's dreams. Speaking of, REED Diamond is in "The Instincts" playing a concerned father. Remember The Shield? Hell, remember Homicide? There really is not a lot to talk about with this episode.

The road to being an actor is not as glamorous as it seems. Behind the fame and recognition is a steep hill full of challenges and rejection. To stay in the industry long enough to find yourself at the top, you need to have resilience. In this episode, Adam Markel is with Reed Diamond—an actor for over 35 years in television, films, and on Broadway—to get his take on why resilience is a key ingredient to making it as an actor. Reed takes us through his journey of differentiating between acting as a craft and an art, breaking the bad habit of pre-worrying, and dealing with uncertainty. Sharing lessons from acting that help in these changing times, Reed then dives deep into improvisation and how it can teach us to adapt in situations we least expect. Don't miss out on the many insights this timely conversation has to offer. Tune in!

Earlier in March, all of Netflix's Marvel shows were removed from the streaming platform, eventually landing on Disney+ on March 16. While watching the Jessica Jones Season 1 episode "A.K.Arrrr. Crush Syndrome" on Disney+, one fan caught that the Netflix name had not been entirely removed from the opening credit sequence, posting it on Reddit. For other episodes of the series and shows like Daredevil and Luke Cage though, these credits have been removed entirely without a trace. Marvel Studios Developing New Cosmic Project https://www.cbr.com/marvel-studios-developing-new-cosmic-project/ According to the latest issue of Production Weekly, a trustworthy industry publication that tracks and chronicles films and series in various stages of development, Marvel Studios is beginning work on a new cosmic project. The entry is simply listed as, "Untitled Marvel Space Project" and sports the status of "Development." As can be expected, Marvel Studios President Kevin Fiege is currently listed as the only producer attached to the project. Beyond its existence, nothing else is known about what this mysterious chapter in the MCU will entail. MARVEL TELEVISION Avengers: Endgame Almost Featured an Agents of SHIELD Character (Photo) https://thedirect.com/article/avengers-endgame-agents-of-shield-character-photo Avengers Endgame Almost Included Marvel TV Marvel Studios made its first major reference to the television side in Avengers: Endgame. Agent Carter's Edwin Jarvis made a brief cameo as Howard Stark's butler during the 1970s Tesseract segment of the Time Heist, tying those two projects together. But it seems the same sequence came close to bringing Agents of SHIELD into the picture through Season 2 antagonist Daniel Whitehall. The Hydra boss spent the early days of his career recovering powerful artifacts under the Red Skull before joining him to work on the Tesseract, explaining his link to the Time Heist plans. Despite being born in 1904, Whitehall retained his middle-aged appearance in the modern-day after using harvesting the DNA and organs of an Inhuman to de-age himself. After causing half a season of trouble for the Agents of SHIELD team, Whitehall was finally shot and killed by Phil Coulson in 2014, meaning he was still alive during the Avengers' first attempt to recover the Tesseract for 2012. Reed Diamond must have been shocked to receive a call from Marvel to check his availability, given his Hydra villain had been killed off years earlier. Since Whitehall was alive throughout the entire Time Heist, it's anyone's guess where he may have appeared. The Hydra Boss was captured by the SSR in 1945 and held until 1989, meaning he may have been considered for the 1970s SHIELD base scene with the young Peggy Carter, Hank Pym, and Howard Stark. The scrapped Agents of SHIELD crossover would have left Runaways, Cloak and Dagger, and all five heroes of "The Defenders Saga" as the only major omissions from Avengers: Endgame. Since the blockbuster event was already so packed with heroes, perhaps it was for the best that Marvel didn't try to integrate its many TV fan-favorites into the mix. Despite Agents of SHIELD's many references to the MCU, Marvel Studios has yet to reference any characters or events from the seven-season epic, leading some to justifiably call its canon status into question. But with the series having just recently made the jump to Disney+, speculation is rife that the SHIELD team could be in for a comeback in the near future. This week, the elves venture into completely new territory while covering their first made-for-T.V. Christmas movie! Surprisingly, it’s not a Hallmark Original, but an ABC Family (before it was Freeform) Original that debuted during it’s 25 Days of Christmas programming block back in 2001: Three Days. While Julia, Thom, and Anthony are all over the map in what they think about the overall quality of this movie starring Kristin Davis, Reed Diamond, and Tim Meadows, they’re in agreement about the fact that it’s quite depressing for a Holiday story, and have fun picking apart script flaws and directorial choices. In addition, the hosts discuss the brand new poster, trailer, and plot synopsis released for Illumination Entertainment’s upcoming 2018 film Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch.
Actor Reed Diamond and I have an in depth conversation about acting, life, the paths we choose (and the ones we don't) reflecting, family and life. Reed has been in such hits as Moneyball, Agents of SHIELD, Designated Survivor, 24, Good Night and Good Luck and so many more. Meet: Reed Diamond.

Today’s guest is Reed Diamond. This podchat could have gone on for another two hours AT THE LEAST! It was a whirlwind talk with the actor you know from “Homicide: Life on the Street,” “Agents of Shield,” “24,” “Judging Amy,” “Good Night, and Good Luck,” “Moneyball,” and too many more to list here. Go to imdb if you got the time. I’m so glad to have had the time with Reed.

The @LegendsOfShield (Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D.) Agents Haley, Stargate Pioneer, Consultant Wing and Undercover Hydra Agent Jay break down the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode Ye Who Enter Here! Undercover Hydra Agent also hosts and produces the Doctor Who GonnaGeek.com network podcast called Gallifrey Public Radio and cohosts the CW television Show Arrow GonnaGeek.com network podcast called The Starling Tribune. Jay is subbing this week for Agent Lauren who found herself with an uncontrollable urge to touch The Diviner and is now in recovery from her rather extensive Obelisk caused injuries. This week’s podcast crew also will run down the week in Marvel news, and review down all the awesome Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D. feedback. Ye Who Enter Here” Episode Discussion [5:13] Everyone debates what Skye’s dream actually was and what it really meant. Especially since it was not referred to again in the episode. No one really knows why she had the dream either. Mack’s toy Lola comes just in time for the Christmas season. But will it convince Coulson to let Mack touch Lola – once he recovered from his exposure to whatever was at the bottom of the shaft plus the subsequent fall down that very same shaft! Wing really liked Mack but Stargate Pioneer is still hesitate about what exactly Mack is doing with Mockingbird. Haley thinks that Mack and Bobbi are actually in another secret Marvel style organization like SWORD sent in to monitor Coulson and the remnants of S.H.I.E.L.D. in hiding. Last season Marvel did the bad secret organization. Haley thinks that this season Marvel wants to do the good organization so not to be too silly. Also, Bobbi Morris is being played as the evil spy agent but it will really turn out to be a Hydra brainwashed Simmons made by Bakshi and Whitehall to “comply.” Haley also thinks that the S.W.O.R.D. type organization will be involved in Avengers 2 as well. Haley also thinks that Bobbi and Lance Hunter will breakup and that is the oncoming storm that Mack was referring to. Haley and Jay were pleased to see Trip with a more prominent role in this episode. Everyone loves Evil May (Agent 33) and her scar / damaged face mask. The Skye-Agent 33 fight wasn’t exactly the quality of the May-Agent 33 fight but it was still a good addition to the show. And reminiscing about May without her dress was tops on everyone’s mind. Haley was disappointed that Skye didn’t shoot Ward in his foot on The Bus. Why was Raina not in the interrogation room? Why did she have a lanyard? Just how many Koenig brothers are out there? And they get all the cool toys wlike a cloak umbrella. And no Koenig will EVER hook up with Agent May. Haley mentions Patton Oswalt’s Park and Rec Star Wars ad lib scene again: http://youtu.be/5BBhNkywMJY “Patton Oswalt's Star Wars Filibuster - Parks and Recreation” Haley seems to think that Simmons has a relationship with Fitz but its only a friendship and not romantic at all. Simmons seems more fancied with Trip. Haley also hopes that Fits is brought down the super villain path because it would be great for the story and bad for the feels. Wing thinks that killing Ward will be what turns Fitz to be a Villian. Would Fitz been able to shoot Mack? And Is Mack Dead? No. Stargate Pioneer is smitten with Mockingbird’s tasing batons. Haley feels that Fury’s body count number would have been 3 million. Jay and Wing think it would have been much, much higher. Coulson is minor league here. Where is General Talbot with Corporeal Mustache these days? Stargate Pioneer wonders if Ward really killed his parents and brother or if it will lead us down yet another deceptive path. Stargate Pioneer rants and raves about a “Cold War Frequencies.” There is no such thing. Haley says yes there is in Comic Book Science. Haley jumps at the chance to talk about how awesome May is. And why in the world does Skye willingly go with Ward? Jay wants to see Oliver Queen from Arrow and Melinda May fight. And of course it would end up with them sleeping with each other. And Stargate Pioneer loved May hitting the Hydra guys with the van just like Felicity did in the penultimate Arrow Season 2 episode with Ravager. Raina and Skye have very intense conversations. Ward was not only being strategic taking Skye as a bargaining chip but also because how much he loved Skye. In a very crazy sort of way. Reed Diamond makes an incredibly good villain in Whitehall. Haley, Jay and Stargate Pioneer talk about Sitwell’s (Maximiliano Hernandez) appearance on The Walking Dead. Haley’s list of unwatched movies grows even longer this week with mention of The Untouchables Haley tries her best to make up for Lauren and cries “Science Babies!” whenever she has to. See how many times Wing, Haley and Jay try to annoy Stargate Pioneer and make Crimson Comet style poop jokes throughout the episode.
