Did you know feelings like worry are our brains' way of protecting us? However, they can become problematic when they trigger repetitive negative thoughts. In this episode, Matt O'Neill interviews neuroscientist Alex Korb to discuss how common emotions like worry, anxiety, anger, and self-criticism are natural brain functions, not personal failings. Learn simple strategies – backed by neuroscience – to improve mood and happiness. Understand why our brains experience these emotions and learn how you can manage them through mindfulness instead of judgment. This episode will leave you feeling empowered rather than critical of yourself. Here are some power takeaways from today's conversation: Why the brain experiences emotions like worry and self-criticism Understanding different brain wiring and personality traits Managing emotions through mindfulness and self-compassion The importance of exercise, sleep, gratitude, and taking action [03:22] The Purpose of Worry and Self-Criticism Worry evolved as a brain mechanism to avoid threats by thinking through problems and solutions, utilizing the prefrontal cortex similarly to playing chess. The amygdala provides emotions like anxiety to motivate protection. Therefore, feelings such as worry and self-criticism stem naturally from how our brains are formed for survival purposes, rather than being inherently negative traits. [07:29] Unique Brain Wiring and the Value of Self-Acceptance We all think and act differently based on natural variations. Instead of stressing over what you can't change, focus on your strengths and what really matters to you. If something gets in your way, look at tweaking your approach rather than feeling stuck with who you are. [20:40] The Power of Emotion Labeling and Self-Compassion Simply stating your emotion, like "I'm feeling angry", lets the prefrontal cortex regulate the amygdala. Labeling emotions mindfully while showing self-compassion, not judgment, replaces unhelpful rumination or avoidance with healthy emotional processing. This optimizes the brain's natural regulation abilities. [29:00] Simple Habits for a Happier Brain Alex highlights exercise, quality sleep, gratitude, and taking action as important daily habits for brain health and happiness. Small amounts of activity, optimized sleep, focusing on positives through gratitude, and controlling what's within our power can make a big impact per neuroscience. Notable quotes: [05:59] Worry in itself isn't a problem. Obsessively worrying is a problem. [06:13] [17:46] You can't necessarily inherently change your brain's automatic reactivity. [17:54] [18:17] Having a brain that is emotionally reactive is not a bad thing. What makes it a bad thing is the habits that you've programmed into it that are automatically triggered. In this episode, we dive deep into transitioning from negative to positive and how to take control of your own experiences. Discovering your essence and purpose provides a platform for moving forward and becoming anything you desire. My perspective is that you are both the observer and creator of your experience. You're not just "you"; you're something greater, experiencing life through your unique lens. Anything happening to you is actually happening to the vessel that houses your consciousness. We're here to have an experience, and the feeling within that experience is entirely up to you. If you're wondering how to change it, it's simpler than you think. The way you perceive the world directly influences how you experience it. Your mind serves as a filter, processing everything you encounter. To experience something different, you must shift your mind's frequency. Pay attention to the thoughts flowing through your mind because they are the key. Your thoughts must match the vibrational level you want to achieve. If negative thoughts dominate your mind, they determine the frequency with which you operate. But remember, those thoughts are not yours; you can change them. Even if they feel fake at first or don't resonate, replacing negative thoughts with positive ones will eventually shift your mindset and perception. As we approach 2024, what's stopping you from committing to at least one year of aligning your thoughts with the frequency you desire? Dedicate yourself to it. Obsessively replace negative thoughts with positive ones. Here's the beauty of it: you can only focus on a limited number of things at a time. If you fill your mind with positive thoughts, there's less room for negativity. Your mindset is everything, and your mind's frequency dictates what you attract into your life. Picture this scenario: two identical individuals tasked with digging a ditch. They have the same physical abilities, the same conditions, and even wear the same clothes. The only difference is their mindset. One is unhappy, complaining about the job, while the other is grateful for the opportunity, embracing the task enthusiastically. Who do you think will dig the ditch faster and better? It's the same work, but their mindsets make all the difference. Your mindset determines your frequency, which, in turn, shapes your reality. I understand that when you're dealing with depression or anxiety, negative thoughts can feel overwhelming, and it might seem like you lack control. But you do have the power to start small. Begin by writing down positive "I am" statements and keep them with you. When negativity creeps in, look at those statements and repeat them. Remember, change won't happen overnight. Shifting from one direction to another takes time and effort. But the beauty of this experience is that things don't happen immediately. Time allows you to reflect and decide if this is the experience you truly want. You are powerful, energetic, and a creator. Embrace your power as both an observer and creator. Start by committing to a year of positive thinking. When negativity knocks, push it out, knowing you can only focus on so much at once. Level up, grow, and become the rising tide that lifts all ships. - Henry -------------------------------- Social Media Say hi on TikTok Say Hi on Instagram -------------------------------- Email Me henry@vibeabundant.com -------------------------------- Email List --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/positive-mindset-podcast/support

I used to hate it with passion when someone told me 'just to stop thinking about a guy'. I just didn't know how. Until my therapist shared a tool with me. Over the years, I've adapted it a bit, and it helps me and my clients to stop obsessively thinking about someone or something. You can use this tool for anything you think about too much. The truth is that we only have a limiting amount of energy available to us each day. And obsessively thinking about a guy means you're energetically chasing a guy. The gripping story of a young woman's murder, unsolved for more than two decades, brilliantly investigated and reconstructed by her stepsister. Growing up, Rachel Rear knew the story of Stephanie Kupchynsky's disappearance. The beautiful violinist and teacher had fled an abusive relationship on Martha's Vineyard and made a new start for herself near Rochester, NY. She was at the height of her life - in a relationship with a man she hoped to marry and close to her students and her family. And then, one morning, she was gone. Around Rochester - a region that has spawned such serial killers as Arthur Shawcross and the 'Double Initial' killer - Stephanie's disappearance was just a familiar sort of news item. But Rachel had more reason than most to be haunted by this particular story of a missing woman: Rachel's mother had married Stephanie's father after the crime, and Rachel grew up in the shadow of her stepsister's legacy. In Catch the Sparrow, Rachel Rear writes a compulsively listenable and unerringly poignant reconstruction of the case's dark and serpentine path across more than two decades. Obsessively cataloguing the crime and its costs, drawing intimately closer to the details than any journalist could, she reveals how a dysfunctional justice system laid the groundwork for Stephanie's murder and stymied the investigation for more than 20 years, and what those hard years meant for the lives of Stephanie's family and loved ones. Startling, thrilling and deeply moving, Catch the Sparrow is a retelling of a crime like no other.
MOD episodes have no shelf-life or expiration date. Since our focus is principled and always happening now - each will always reflect the fluid nature of current events. May's Principle is Integrity. Integrity is integration. Since integration is inclusive we cannot be alone or apart - from anyone or anything. Obsessively thinking about our “self” is embarrassing when what we think of reality and truth is thought to become reality and truth. Keeping thoughts to our “self” presumes they can be hidden even while noticeably undermining our bodily functions with the pressure of stress leading to a sense of dis-comfort and dis-ease. Integration asks we broaden our circle to include all that are and all that is by sharing our thoughts openly - including our insight and frustration with what seems out of sight. Integrity is honest since it is inclusive. Acting honestly is learning to consider we all share a greater knowing awareness so any divisions perceived are simply thoughts acting as though they are so distinguished as to be distinct and apart. Thoughts aligned with what is happening are stable so decisions made accordingly are not made desperately. Step Five says: “Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.” The “exact nature of our wrongs" is imagining thoughts are reality and truth. Enlarging our circle melts limited thought's defensive horizon so any conflicts based on who and what we think we are can be seen as commonly shared with others without differentiation like our ultimate source. Our greater awareness is obvious once we no longer act oblivious. Ignoring what is happening to claim control over truth and reality is insane. This would suggest the spectacular interconnected laws of nature are guided by ignorance rather than Knowledge. The unmanageability of insanity is evidence there is no control possible in delusion and insanity what's wrong is thinking there is something to control. Fight as you may any fight is not an indication of right but wrong.CONSIDER: ALL THERE IS TO KNOW IS PRESENT. EFFECTS ARE REVELATIONS OF CAUSE. TO DISMISS WHAT IS FELT IGNORES WHAT IS KNOWN. HONESTY DISPELS THE RUMOR WE GET BETTER KEEPING THINGS TO OUR “SELF”.HONESTY AFFIRMS AND CONFIRMS REALITY AND TRUTH AS THE STABLE BASIS OF WHAT WE SHARE AND HAVE WITH ALL THAT IS AND ARE. LIFE IS NOT AT RISK. TAKING THE SELF OF THOUGHT THINKING OF ITSELF SERIOUSLY IS A JOKE SINCE WHAT DOES NOT AT EXIST CANNOT BE AT RISK. EVEN THINKING WE NEED TO LET GO PF SUPPOSES THERE IS AN EGO TO LET GO OF.IT IS OUR PRESENT THOUGHT(S) THAT IMPACT US. THE PAST AND FUTURE, LIKE LIES AND EGO ARE ONLY EVER THOUGHT OF IN THE PRESENT. OBSESSIVE THOUGHTS CYCLE IS THOUGHT TO BE BROKEN WHILE THERE IS NOTHING TO FIX AS MADE OBVIOUS BY SPEAKING BEYOND THE LIMITS OF ANY THOUGHT. EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING NOW. NOW WE HAVE EVERYTHING. THINKING OTHERWISE TRIGGERS IDEAS OF NOT BELONGING WHERE WE ALWAYS ARE AND NOT HAVING ENOUGH WHILE WE ALWAYS INTERACTIONS WITH OTHERS CONFIRM WHAT WE SHARE. DISPELLING RUMORS WE SPREAD IN OUR HEAD - TAKES THE WORDS APART USED TO REINFORCE OUR IMMORAL STORIES ABOUT WHY WE SHOULDN'T BE WHERE WE ARE WITH ALL THAT WE HAVE. THERE IS NO GROWTH IN WHAT IS ABSOLUTE SINCE THERE IS NO MORE OR LESS OF WHAT DOES NOT CHANGE. Decisions aligned with what is actually happening confirm the useful purpose of thoughts. To believe in what is not happening as all that is happening is to think that thinking about thinking creates reality and truth as immediately as we think we become only what we think. . What is manifest in thought can feel real just as the imagery of a movie or dream can “capture" our imagination, emotions or reactions. What is born of thought is imagined, an image. Thoughts cannot condemn us though by opposing them we can create that impression. Taking our-selves seriously is imagining thought thinking of it-self has a life of its own that is our-self. Illusions thought to be real are delusions. The devastation of this inner through history reveals something is wrong.Focusing on the effect of symptoms ignores causes. Fixating on thought to repair what it is intent on breaking is impossible. The mental obsession is not a mystery. The nature of addiction is to think all that we think is not the cause. As a result trying to solve the effects, where enough is never enough, indicates addiction is thinking that the effect is the cause thus the problem. To think we need to stop what we're doing while doing what we're doing is to simultaneously think what is happening is not happening. Human functional capacity is crippled by turning the immediacy of all possibilities into the consuming nature of chronic conflict and instability in mental, emotional, and physical states. Obsessive thoughts are bent on trying to accomplish what cannot be done just as any lie only exists as long as thinking considers it will or even can come true. Sobriety is sanity. Emotional sobriety is sane living. There is nothing sane about defending the life of a bundle of thoughts we think are real and true and thus all we are. Any problem with ego disappears once we concede it is imagined. Obsessively thinking our sup-posed self can be saved from the effect of lying is to perpetuate the lie that it exists. This self-centered-in-thought tries to hide it is based in fear, for the fear of being "found out” is constant, while angels; the metaphoric or actual spiritual nature of being, do not tread into fantasy as reality since reality has no scarcity as it is all that IS. The folly of thought makes fools of us all - when all we think we are is what we think. Our discussion is not about stopping anything. Our thought-full focus is on what we are actually doing. There is no conflict in things as they are. The dissolution of triggering the fight of the addictive cycle frees us from imagined condemnation to see peace rather than disturbance in our actual nature. Consideration is response-ability while the disturbing nature of reactiveness fights for more conflict. To see things as they are despite what we think melts the compelling urge to restart what we only imagine we struggle to stop. And when or if for any seemingly compelling reason, we choose to restart the cycle - the impression it is all we can do will quickly fade. We always know better than to only think what is worse is our only choice. Speaking openly and honestly is the chance to see that what we share in the present confirms our shared presence. If we share what is absolute, absolutely, then seeing wrong only varies in the incorrect ideas we maintain. Our functional capacity and any dysfunctional tendencies occur on the same basis. We appreciate that you're listening and you are also welcome to attend our live discussion occurring all but the last Sunday of each month from 9 - 11 am + Pacific Standard Time. contact@mentalobsession.com

Staying up late to power out another email… Forcing yourself to show up on social media when you don't really want to… Constantly worrying about if the rug will be pulled out from under you… Working so hard + feeling like you have nothing else to give when you get home… Not spending the time you want to with your family because you're out trying to make it happen and grind… Feeling guilty every time you spend money to do something nice for yourself instead of enjoying your pedicure or massage… Obsessively trying to get pregnant trying anything you heard worked for someone driving yourself crazy… Feeling bad about your body but not feeling inspired to make any changes… The yin energy of the water rabbit wants you to… Trust the process. Set your intention and let it be. This comes in the form of unexpected bonuses, raises and money. Clients arriving out of nowhere. Your business doubling while you're working less. Easily losing ten pounds when you're not trying. Getting pregnant the second you stop trying. I teach you HOW in the 12 Month Manifesting Journey… Every single person I've worked with you've applied the recommendations have received positive shifts. Synopsis The contemporary Hungarian composer György Kurtág is famous for writing very short, very sparse and VERY concentrated musical works. He has, however on occasional written more expansive pieces, including one big orchestral piece for the Berlin Philharmonic and some works for large chorus. Obsessively self-critical, Kurtág disavowed most of the music he wrote before his mid-thirties, which included some for chorus, but a suggestion from the Italian avant-garde composer Luigi Nono that he write for chorus again resulted in a work that the BBC Singers premiered in London on today's date in 1981. It has an Italian title, Omaggio a Luigi Nono, or Tribute to Luigi Nono, ¬– a tip of the hat to his Italian colleague, but the work itself is a setting of bits of Russian poems. Now at the time of its premiere, 25 years after the Russian-led invasion of Hungary in 1956 and 10 years before the collapse of the Soviet Union, Hungarian eyebrows were raised when Kurtág chose to set Russian texts. Disparaging or just plain “diss-ing” ANYTHING Russian was the normal M.O. for Hungarian intellectuals in those days. Kurtág, for his part, stood his ground: as an ardent Dostoevsky's fan, he simply said Russian was a sacred language to him. In today's episode of The Sales Evangelist, our host Donald Kelly meets with Mohannad Ghannoum to discuss the importance of changing your perspective, to become an even more effective seller. Mohannad's Observations: Mohannad enjoys philosophy. He once listened to a philosopher discussing passion and purpose, and how to find it. According to this philosopher, there can be two reasons you're not passionate about what you do: A.) You already have it or B.) You don't know yourself well enough. Prior to this, Mohannad had worked for three years in sales but never found much success. He decided to dedicate himself FULLY to sales to determine whether or not it was something he was TRULY passionate about. What did Mohannad do? To discover his passion, Mohannad began to OBSESSIVELY study and take in every single thing he could about his career. He would read books, listen to podcasts, talk to seasoned sellers, etc., anything he could do to learn more. The idea behind this is simple: Mohannad was trying to get RESULTS. By learning everything he could about selling, he was BOUND to become a better salesperson. Once he started seeing results, he became more passionate about selling and wanted to see even BETTER results. The importance of changing your perspective: The saying goes that the grass is always greener on the other side. FAR too often, people absolutely dread their jobs, thinking it's not something they're passionate about. There is a level of experimentation in finding your ideal job, yes, but perhaps you're the problem and not your job. In Mohannad's case, after he started to make the most of his career, he began finding more success, by CHANGING HIS PERSPECTIVE. If you're TRULY passionate about what you do, then you'll have better results than someone who isn't. You'll simply put in more effort. By changing your perspective on selling, you can find more success. Find passion in what you do and you'll put in more effort. All of this equates to you becoming a BETTER seller. If you want to learn more about changing your perspective or talk to Mohannad, you can reach him on LinkedIn or through his email. You can talk to Donald and drop him a message on LinkedIn, Tik Tok, and Instagram at donaldckelly. A podcast to answer all your questions about productivity, time management, self-development and goal planning. My name is Carl Pullein and I am your host for this show. Most productivity advice, tips and tricks focus on how to organise your work. And while this is important to some degree, it is the least important part of the three areas—collecting, organising and doing. You see, you can have the best organisation structure and still be unproductive. That's because in order to keep everything organised you spend far too much time organising and adjusting. You might feel good while you are collecting all your files and notes and moving them into an organisational structure, but you won't be getting anything done. Obsessively organising your stuff is another form of procrastination because it means you are not getting your work done. And that's what this week's episode is all about. So, without further ado, let me hand you over to the Mystery Podcast Voice for this week's question. This week's question comes from Jade. Jade asks: Hi Carl, I've recently finished your From Disorganised to Productivity Mastery in 3 Days course, and now I feel organised (I now know where everything is), but I don't feel productive. How do you keep everything organised and get your work done? Hi Jade, thank you for your question. Congratulations on completing the Disorganised To Productivity Mastery in 3 Days course. I know with that course you now have everything you need to build a great system. And you are now ready to move to the automation part of productivity. You see, when we start doing something new—such as having all our files, documents, notes and everything else organised and in a place where we can find them, it will mean that you will need to consciously think before you do anything. You will need to think about where you will put something and that takes time. However, this is just a part of the learning process. You're changing old habits for new ones. The key here is to consistently do some organising each day. This will likely involve processing the files and documents on your desktop into their rightful place. It will also entail clearing your inboxes and making sure everything is in its rightful place. When you first start doing this, it will take quite a lot of time. However, if you are consistent with this, you will get faster. Now a lesson I learned years ago when I was in sales. During my induction training with one company, they sent me out with one of their salespeople for a day. That day coincided with the expense reporting day and I vividly remember the salesperson training me pulling up in a car park after lunch and suggested I go for a walk for a couple of hours. She then opened the glove box and out poured what seemed to be hundreds of receipts. She had to transfer those receipts from that glove box onto an expense reporting form. That taught me a valuable lesson. Don't pile work up. Do a little every day and instead of it taking you two to three hours up close to a deadline, it will take you less than ten minutes to add that day's receipts to the expense report. To give you another example, many years ago, when I first began using a digital task manager, it could take as much as forty minutes to clear its inbox each day. When you tagged on all the notes I had written, I was spending more than an hour just organising my stuff. However, I stuck to it. Over time, my clearing time dropped. I learned what to collect, what could be added directly to a project note during meetings and what didn't need looking at every day. Now, I can clear ten to fifteen tasks in my inbox in around five minutes. When it comes to clearing my notes' inbox, I generally do this once a week. Notes are less urgent, so do not need processing as frequently as tasks do. And if I did collect a note that related to an active project, I could easily add that to the project notebook when I next work on the project. And that's really what it's about. Find effective and efficient ways to manage the work that is coming in. Over time, you will also learn what to say “no” to, which will reduce the number of inputs coming into your system. The biggest benefit to getting everything organised is the time saved trying to find stuff. However, your new organisation system is going to take time to become second nature. It's only then that you will feel the “system” itself is in the background so you can now focus your attention on what's in front of you. However, with all that said, something you could ask yourself now is where do you feel your system is slow? Where do you find you spend most of your time when you are organising? Here we will all be different. For some, how they manage and organise their email is a bump in the road. Getting quick at clearing your inbox and making decisions such as what is it? And what do I need to do with it? Takes a little time to become automatic. Again, with consistency, you soon learn the patterns and can make decisions about whether you need to take action on an email or not. Likewise with those bigger requests from bosses or clients. The requests that will need an afternoon of deep focus. What do you do with those? When we first begin, we will hesitate and likely think too much about these kinds of requests. As you apply your system, though, they become much easier to make and, more importantly, you become faster at making those decisions. Now there is one area I haven't spoken about and that is learning how to search your devices and your apps. Search has come a long way over the last five years or so. Long gone are the days when a downloaded file would disappear somewhere on your hard drive and would take hours to locate. Now, as long as you know roughly the date you downloaded it, a title or keyword: within a second or two, you've found the file. This is again moving you towards automating your system. It's always difficult to change old habits, and one of the worst habits to have is to go through all your file folders looking for files and documents. A far quicker way is to trust your computer. It knows where everything is. On a Mac, all you need do is hit the COMMAND key and Space bar, and you get a little search box. Type in what you are looking for, and boom! You have what you are looking for. I'm not entirely sure how this works on Windows, but I know Windows does something very similar. Learning how to do this will dramatically speed up your work. Another part of feeling productive is in what you are completing each day. If the majority of what you are completing are low-value tasks, you are not going to feel very productive at the end of the day. This is where daily planning comes in. When you do the daily planning, make sure that you have one or two meaningful tasks on there that will move a project or goal forward. You do not want to be overloading your task manager with high-value meaningful tasks—that's likely to leave you feeling stressed out and overwhelmed, and you will not be able to do everything in one day. But, choose a project that needs working on and create a task that says something like “work on Project X”. That gives you a lot of wriggle room. Often you will find all you have done is planned out the next steps. For instance, if I find a project has stalled for whatever reason, just going into the project note and reviewing my notes, I will soon see what needs to be done next, and I can add that ‘next action', if you like, to my task manager. It's a quick, satisfying way to get projects moving forward. But what are meaningful tasks, and where do they come from? Generally, these tasks will one from one of three places. Your goals, your Areas of Focus or projects. As long as you have a good mix of tasks that comes from these three places, you will find that you get to the end of the day and feel fulfilled and satisfied with the day. If you fill your days with low-value admin type tasks, you are going to feel unfulfilled and unhappy with what you have done that day. Now, I'm not saying you fill your days with high-value project or goal tasks, that would leave you with a lot of admin being neglected, and that will always come back and bite you. It's about the mix. Let me give you an example. If you made sure you had two to three hours each day for high-value important project work, an hour for dealing with your communications and perhaps thirty minutes for admin, you would soon find yourself being very productive at work. If you then added forty-five minutes for daily exercise (a good walk is enough), some time for your family and friends and a little time for your own personal development, you would still have time for a good night's sleep. You don't need to fill every hour of every day with activities. You just need to identify what's important to you and make sure you have sufficient time each day for those activities. I hope that has helped, Jade. Thank you for your question. And thank you to you too for listening. It just remains for me now to wish you all a very very productive week.

Before we launch into this episode, I want to set this up for you: it's not about weight. It IS about your health. It's about your life and you living it. There are a lot of unhappy skinny people. There have been a lot of fat people who've lost weight that fear regaining and still don't love themselves or their life. 00:00 So, my hope is that before you listen to this episode about hitting a weight loss plateau, you have the right perspective. Weight can have a significant impact on health. A recent podcast with Dr. Susan Peirce Thompson Why Menopause Weight loss is So Hard and How Your Brain is Taking Over pointed out that we've broken a record. Due to the pandemic, we've reached a 50% obesity rate. It's still getting worse, not better. We were headed there, just not this fast. We all want to look good. Have you ever been praised or complimented for not? But be sure you're in a good place here. Obsessively thinking about, talking about, weighing your food, thinking about what you will eat/won't eat, knowing the calorie counts to everything… and how many calories certain activities burn? This is not a health goal. Let's listen with the right frame. 01:56 My Guest: Anna Cabeca, DO, OBGYN, FACOG, is best selling author of The Hormone Fix and Keto-Green 16. Dr. Anna is triple-board certified and a fellow of gynecology and obstetrics, integrative medicine, and anti-aging and regenerative medicine. She has personally developed natural products to help women balance hormones and thrive thru menopause including the highly acclaimed Julva® cream for the vulva and MightyMaca® Plus, a powerful superfood blend. She now lives in Dallas with her daughters, horses, and dogs. Our BIG question in this episode: 02:49 What Causes a Weight Loss Plateau? And the five strategies you can use to bust through it. This is especially important for those who are most weight loss resistant. 08:23 Once you've looked at all the obvious: not exercising enough exercise too much (if you're savvy to hormones you know this) eating too much or too much processed foods eating too little (if you're savvy to hormones you know this too) midlife women will ask…What can cause a weight loss plateau? In this episode Christy and Rob discuss: The best way to practice self-care Questions to ask yourself The power of gratitude Key Takeaways: Self-care doesn't have to be conditional. Let comfort and love for yourself precede your self-care practice What is good enough about you? What is working about your life? What actions have you taken that you're proud of? Where in your life have you been courageous or had perseverance? What are you learning? Obsessively looking at what others have is not good for your health. Give thanks for life, give thanks especially for yourself and your power. Celebrate that. “Nothing is ever all bad and nothing is ever all good but where we put our focus and what we look for, we will find.” - Christy Whitman Self-Love Meditations: www.thedesirefactor.com/love Freedom From Co-Dependency: www.christywhitman.com www.thedesirefactor.com/freedom Get The Desire Factor Book at https://thedesirefactor.com/ Connect with Christy Whitman: Website: https://www.christywhitman.com/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChhSCDQ_U3cYtCejM9DSVJw LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/christywhitman1/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/christywhitmaninternational/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/ChristyWhitman Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/christywhitman1 Show notes by Podcastologist: Justine Talla Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Today I'm talking about the idea of mental energy. What do I mean by that? I mean things like: How often do you think about food during the day?How much stress do you have around what and when you're eating? Do you get anxious when you have a dinner out with friends or your family decides they want pizza last minute? That's what this is all about. Beginning to become aware around how much of your mental energy is going towards food and the implication of that on the rest of your life. Especially when you're trying to lose weight, which most of us seem to be perpetually doing. I talk through why this matters for your well being and how you can decide where to invest your mental energy. Can we ask you a question? Are you still passionate about your daily work routine?A big buzz-phrase these days on the topic of passion is "find your why."This is a helpful question but it also can be misleading.Look, we've seen it a thousand times while coaching clients:The "why" doesn't work for everyone as a trigger for passion.Join us as we discuss one of the most important strategies for success.==========================How to rekindle the fire within:1. Be aware of what YOUR OWN passion switches are. 2. Get into your primary and secondary passion switches. Get SPECIFIC within them. 3. USE IT. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Not just in the things you love, but especially in the things you don't. Also, take your passion mantra (if you don't have one, create it!) and write it down on Post It notes. Then place it everywhere so you're reminded of it and you can integrate it every single day. ==========================BONUS LIST! Here's how to get really clear on what success means to YOU:1. Focus on the journey2. Obsessively, focused on the outcome.3. Define it! What does success mean to you?The most important thing to integrate is that you do NOT copy other people's success.==========================
