You've heard we're in a FENTANYL CRISIS - but do you really know what this is and how you can escape dying from it? It's not just about avoiding strange men on street corners who are drug pushers - it's everywhere. Even people who don't take legal or illegal drugs are at risk. It's been coming across the border in droves and no neighborhood is immune! Today's guest, James Fishback, knows firsthand just how serious this crisis is. He's the founder and executive director of Incubate Debate, which serves thousands of middle and high school students, teaching them that open debate and free speech are essential. This school year, James has visited high schools across Florida and spoken with thousands of students about lethal fentanyl through Incubate's Not Even Once initiative. He has seen firsthand how little students know about fentanyl, a synthetic opioid that represents 80% of all fatal teen overdoses. He views the teen fentanyl crisis as a massive supply side issue and an education issue, both of which must be solved in order to save young men and women from this deadly poison. At a time when many schools insist on hosting drag queen story hour, there appears to be no time, effort, or urgency to discuss fentanyl with young people, who are peddled fentanyl via social media in the form of counterfeit pills made to look like FDA-approved drugs, Percocet, Oxycontin, Adderall. He will tell you what kids really think!

Judy Woodruff (PBS NewsHour, NBC, CBS) and Martin Baron (Washington Post, Boston Globe, New York Times, Los Angeles Times) with Geoffrey Cowan (Dean of the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism). In this fascinating discussion, the best in the business discuss growing distrust of the media that is being sown by misinformation and disinformation on social media and by disingenuous political forces. In their combined many decades of experience, Woodruff, Baron, and Cowan have covered world events with objectivity and humility, asking the right questions and seeking anwsers. Hear them address the problems (and benefits) of social media and potential solutions to restoring faith in the press.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Trump must pack his bags and we will have Joe Biden as our 46th President. Also Vice-President elect Kamala Harris will be the first Afro-Asian woman to hold that office. Today Devin and Morgan speak to their gratefulness and pride in cities like Detroit, Flint, Philly, Milwaukee, Savannah and Atlanta. These are some of the Blackest cities in America by population and by culture and they showed out helping turn what would’ve been red states blue. The girls discuss why it is important for Black people to take in this victory and realize what we can accomplish in large numbers. Not for a specific party, but for ourselves and the advancement of our people. Now is the time to hold the new administration accountable in the same way we did the previous one, now is not the time to rest on our laurels.
