We are in a back to school series for moms in midlife. Gone are the days of crayons and kid-sized scissors, and on are the days of cheering for our high schoolers and their friends with creativity and intentionality. There is no better mom to lead us in this conversation than Krisi Monsiviaz. Her creative flare combined with her organized execution gives her ideas that can be scaled up to serve an entire team, plus families, and friends. Perhaps you are planning to be Team Mom and carry an official role in organized support. Or maybe you have a few free hours in your schedule and want to use them with purpose to support your high school student and his teammates or cast mates. Maybe your daughter wants to host a dinner at your house or make gift bags for her squad. The principles laid out in this conversation can be applied and tweaked to meet the needs of the kids right around you. We know the high school years are busy. Let's not let the busy of practices, homework, and jobs get in the way of intentional gathering, gifts, and grub. Teenagers like all three of those. I had the honor of talking with not just a fellow, Kristen, not just a fellow cheer mom, but a cheer mom named Kristen, who is also one of the team moms for my favorite team, TGLC, a back-to-back World Champion. TGLC dominates every competition that they're in. Everyone wants to know what TGLC theme is going to be, what their uniform is going to look like. Every athlete wants to take pictures with a TGLC athlete when they see them at competitions. They are famous. And if you've listened to the podcasts, I am a big fan. Kristen takes care of TGLC athletes in such a special way, so she gives us a little peek at what it is like behind the scenes for TGLC athletes and her take on how and why they are such a successful team. She talks about some of the things that go into making that successful team, and she answers the question of how do they actually feel about being asked to take selfies. And how the moms feel about their kids being asked to take selfies. I loved this conversation. If you see her at a cheer competition, give her a fist bump, a high five, a hug. Tell her thank you. She is the real deal when it comes to cheer moms. Take a listen. Episode mentions: Follow Kristen Brooks on Instagram! The Cheer Collection The Cheer Collection Ambassador Application

Today on LaxStamina for our season finale Bobby sits down with Gannon Univeristy Club Lacrosse. This is an upstart program of sorts. They got their start just a couple season before COVID shut us all down and the start of this program was a family affair. Bobby is joined by student leaders Erek Iwankenko, Luke Smallwood and Josh Pavlovich. Erek Iwanenko started the team with his parents Mary and Dr. Walter Iwanenko. Dr. Iwanenko is the school Provost and Vice President of the Student Experience. Mary is a faculty member at Gannon, the Director of the Health Center and an advisor on the club lacrosse team. The guys say these two are Team Mom and Team Dad. Team Mom and Team Dad are also joined by the proud Team Uncle Edwin Voll. Also a staff member at Gannon and a team advisor. With this power team Gannon went from 8 players in year 1 to 25 this season. This season ended in the Elite Eight in Annapolis at the National Tournament. This is one of a kind episode about student leadership, family and what it takes to start a program from the ground up. Please enjoy Bobby's conversation with the Gannon University Men's Club Lacrosse Team.
This Sunday is Mother's Day- a day dedicated to all of us, Mamas! YES!! Today I want to talk about being a Mom, what it means to me to be a Mom, and what Motherhood means to me. There is a lot rolled into the title of "Mom" -it's a 24 hour, 7 day a week responsibility and we are all here for it-the good and the not so good! Being a Mom is the best, hardest, and most amazing job I have ever had and in my opinion, it's the most important job because we are raising the next generation. How we raise our kiddos and how we Mom will set the stage for our future on this planet. Let's teach, educate, love, lead, and have compassion for one another! We are Team Mom!! Happy Mother's Day to YOU!!

Howdy ho, neighborinos. 'Tis been quite the little while. But when your podcast is built upon a single actor's resume, and the well runneth dry between releases, then you have some gaps. Brock and Brian catch up: on Disneyworld, on DeezNutsWorld, on their families and their neighbors and all sorts of fun stuff. They have a draft of the Best Fictional Mommies. And then they rewatched 2017's "Mom and Dad," the manic horror/comedy from the guy behind "Crank" and "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance." The boys pick sides as to who came out on top: Team Mom or Team Dad. Last time Brock and Brian (and their wives) watched this movie, there were no children to speak of. Will they identify more with the patricidal urges, or the Blue Bonnet waistline, this time around? It's a fun one. And admit it - you missed us!

1:55 Icebreaker: favorite moment from this year's draft. Payton Prichard getting drafted in the first round, Patrick William's florist mom, an abundance of graphic ts, athletes at home without a bunch of big cameras in their face. 6:30 Welcome Robert Lord Glovington Covington! On the same timeline as Damian Lillard, this is a win-now move. 9:30 Coach Stotts is excited and it seems like the chemistry is going to be great. Also, snakes and geckos! 10:30 Covington was a four year college player who was undrafted, it's cool to see someone create a place for themselves in the league. 13:00 Covington and Hood probably have a higher ceiling than Aminu and Harkless. 15:00 Was two second round picks too high of a price in the trade for Covington? 17:05 Welcome CJ Elleby! Coached by Ernie Kent. Comes from the Seattle area. Cassidy loves a lefty shooter. 20:00 Cassidy helped Tara who momentarily worried that Rodney Hood was leaving. 22:00 Neil Olshey said that Rodney Hood will be ready, but Zach Collins will not. 23:00 Jamie wasn't surprised when Carmelo Anthony re-signed in Portland. 25:00 Melo seemed like he had influence on younger players. Plus he still has buckets in him! 28:25 Cassidy is going to be the Derrick “Airplane Mode” Jones Jr defender. We could have someone who is a Slam Dunk Champion while playing in Portland! 31:00 DJJ's first interview. 35:05 Welcome Harry Giles! Is there a second wave of Blazers forming behind Dame and CJ? He is a clever passer, there is going to be some fun passing. Kings fans were not happy which should make us pretty happy. 39:50 Dynasty definition for those who were wondering. 41:00 Concerns leading into next season. Injuries are always a concern. 42:15 Interlude: Is Enes Kanter the Danny Zuko of the Trail Blazers? 43:00 How ready is Anfernee Simons? We will see but the Blazers believe in him so we do too! 46:00 Anfernee Simons put in a lot of work this summer. Gary Trent Jr did a lot of homework last summer and Simons maybe took a page from his book. 47:00 Wish there were a few more facilitators in the second unit. 50:00 What will Jamie's job in the media be like when the season starts up? 53:00 Recommended by the WHAT podcast: Gary Trent Jr. and Jordan Bolton: A basketball bond that will last forever by Jamie Hudson Thank you for listening to the WHAT podcast! It’s a special bonus edition of the Blazers Edge Podcast featuring Team Mom aka Tara Bowen-Biggs, Hoops and Talks co-host Cassidy Gemmet, and Blazer’s Edge writers Nate Mann and Isaiah De Los Santos. They talk about the Trail Blazers big trade for Hassan Whiteside, how he might fit in, what his game is like compared to Jusuf Nurkic, and wonder if locker room chemistry might be tested? Then they discuss what impact Mario Hezonja and Anthony Tolliver might have on the team. What position does Hezonja play? Why hasn’t Tolliver stayed with any team more than a few seasons over the course of his career? We are excited for all the changes but still trying to figure out exactly what they mean. The US Olympic Committee's training facility in Colorado Springs plays hosts to hundreds of athletes every year. Some spend a week or two on campus for special training; others live there year round. To make sure the athletes are getting everything they need, the USOC relies on Sherry Von Riesen, athlete services coordinator -- or better known as Team Mom. In honor of Mother's Day this weekend, we learn more about how she helps the athletes become their best. We've also got a lot of Team Olympic Fever news on the docket and some Tokyo 2020 updates (hint: Some International Federations aren't happy with what's going on). Green decided to bite the bullet and found himself in the arena for another historic Trail Blazers playoff performance. He breaks down his personal take on the game as well as what it felt like to witness a quadruple overtime playoff game in person. Then we switch things up as Whitty goes one-on-one with everybody’s favorite Team Mom, Tara Bowen-Biggs (@tcbbiggs) to chat about how much sleep she got after such an emotional game as well as her outlook on the entirety of the Blazers postseason run thus far.
Trail Blazers Television Analyst Lamar Hurd (@L_Hurd) joined Team Mom to give his observations about the Western Conference Semifinals Game 1 and where the Trail Blazers could go from here. Did Denver do something to disrupt CJ McCollum’s early hot shooting? How can Moe Harkless and Al Farouq Aminu impact a game if they are not scoring? And what could be the key factors that determine the outcome of the series? All this plus Lamar’s story of what Damian Lillard’s game-winning shot meant to him. Learn more about your ad choices. Toni Wallace is an attorney running for judge in her county in the upcoming elections — Election Day is November 6, 2018, so at the time of this episode, that’s just a few months away. She’s running for judge in Fort Bend County, Texas, but also identifies as, in her words, a small business owner, a wife, mom of three, lawyer, believer, Cheer Mom, Baseball Mom, Basketball Mom, Football Mom, Team Mom, and yep, a former judge. (We’ll get into that last bit.) I loved talking to Toni — she made me both want to vote for her if I was living in her county and wish I was her neighbor so we could go on walks and grab coffee together. I know you’re gonna love her. Notes From This Episode: Toni for Judge Toni on Facebook and Twitter Tsh (me) on Instagram and Twitter An American Marriage, by Tayari Jones Kindly leave a review!
