JDNB Premiere - You Heard It Here First Release Date : TBC Label : Yardrock (In acc with Serial Killaz) Every now and then, you just want a release that slams start to finish. No frills, no pretence of trying to be something that it isn't, just solidly banging D&B that gets your head nodding and your feet moving. Jay Jay has done that here and this EP is a run of attitude-packed jump up, all of which will destroy any deserving dancefloor. Title track ‘Tomorrows world' is an obvious highlight, big-boy womps and gully vibes leading you in into a fluttering array of bouncy sonics and boom-bap drum hits, a vibe that's quickly transferred across into 'Badman' with it's rolling beats, moody bass notes and melody that oozes power. Next up we have ‘Made', a colab with Stance, which opens with dark vibes, rolling drums that gets the head nodding and the feet moving, its momentum builds and builds before releasing on the drop into a stabby array of force and propulsion. Lastly but by no means least we have 'Let's go', a filthy womper that packs a heavy punch that will keep everyone bubbling on the dance floor. Proper stuff!
Seems like its been a minute since I released my last podcast, although I have done stuff on my harder Digital Punk page. This podcast really digs in to the harder side, bringing back memories of the trance sets heard in Steam, D.R.T, Tomorrows World and the Technodrome during the 90's. Hold on to your heavies this next one is going to be FIERCE!

In today's episode of the As Told by Nomads Podcast, join me and my guest, Jordan Gross, as we talk about the four distinct mindsets during uncertainties and how behaviors help people cultivate opportunities by navigating change. Jordan shares how development is better taught through parables and fables as someone who leverages the relatability of creative storytelling. From there, he also speaks on his new book “What Happens in Tomorrow World?” and its arcade-like approach to representing the future and life's uncertainties. There's a lot to take notes from in this episode, so make sure to tune in to Jordan.Personal Development Through Story Telling Instead of a prescriptive approach, Jordan uses a different manner to teaching development through storytelling. He shares that fun and adventure are a must in his life. Which is the reason why stories with zig-zaggy and non-linear flows always resonate with Jordan. For him, this particular nature of parables and fables, if used creatively, can also be a potent tool for teaching lessons and morals, as proven precisely in his latest book. With the emotional appeal of stories that draw people in, readers find it easier to pay attention to details and find themselves in the levels of every character. Storytelling can teach lessons by leaving people with the opportunity to make their own decisions and assessment after the story. Jordan sees this differently from the ‘do this do that' type of teaching that often lacks relatability. Because stories take a more creative and stimulating approach to connecting with the reader's mind, people are then allowed to learn different messages from stories using their own imaginations without losing their autonomy.Outline of the episode:[04:03] On embracing the uncertainties of life.[07:00] The 4 Common Mindsets That Arise During Uncertainties.[11:01] Personal development through creative storytelling.[12:45] Over-optimism can exist too; Is optimism always the answer?[15:05] Toxic positivity and genuine positivity. [16:55] How can you turn your passion into sustainable business opportunities?[22:59] “Opportunity precedes passion.”[26:51] Is there a correlation between solitude and opportunity?[28:52] What is Tomorrow World?[31:51] Have something you can call “yours only” that can make a difference.Resources:Website: https://jordan-gross.com/Grab your copy of Tomorrow World now: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/195066595XAlso, check out The Journey to Cloud Nine: https://www.amazon.com/Journey-Cloud-Nine-Confront-Redefine-ebook/dp/B0815S6DY3Jordan's Book Inspiration: https://www.amazon.com/Moved-Cheese-Spencer-Johnson-M-D/dp/0743582853Subscribe to the UYD Collective: https://tayorockson.podia.com/uydcollectiveConnect with Tayo Rockson and the As Told By Nomads Podcast on:Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tayorockson Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcastTwitter:

The wonderful John D. Burns reads an extract from Wild Country - The man who made Friends. In early 1978, an extraordinary new invention for rock climbers was featured on the BBC television science show Tomorrow's World. It was called the 'Friend', and it not only made the sport safer, it helped push the limits of the possible. The company that made them was called Wild Country, the brainchild of Mark Vallance. Within six months, Vallance was selling Friends in sixteen countries. Wild Country would go on to develop much of the gear that transformed climbing in the 1980s. Mark Vallance's influence on the outdoor world extends far beyond the company he founded. He owned and opened the influential retailer Outside in the Peak District and was part of the team that built The Foundry, Sheffield's premier climbing wall - the first modern climbing gym in Britain. He worked for the Peak District National Park and served on its board. He even found time to climb eight-thousand-metre peaks and the Nose on El Capitan. Diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in his mid fifties and robbed of his plans for retirement, Vallance found a new sense of purpose as a reforming president of the British Mountaineering Council. In Wild Country, Vallance traces his story, from childhood influences like Robin Hodgkin and Sir Jack Longland, to two years in Antarctica, where he was base commander of the UK's largest and most southerly scientific station at Halley Bay, before his fateful meeting with Ray Jardine, the man who invented Friends, in Yosemite. Trenchant, provocative and challenging, Wild Country is a remarkable personal story and a fresh perspective on the role of the outdoors in British life and the development of climbing in its most revolutionary phase. Mark Vallance (1945–2018), the man who made Friends. ***John D. Burns is a bestselling and award-winning mountain writer who has spent over forty years exploring Britain’s mountains. Originally from Merseyside, he moved to Inverness over thirty years ago to follow his passion for the hills. He is a past member of the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team and has walked and climbed in the American and Canadian Rockies, Kenya, the Alps and the Pyrenees. John began writing more than fifteen years ago, and at first found an outlet for his creativity as a performance poet. He has taken one-man plays to the Edinburgh Fringe and toured them widely around theatres and mountain festivals in the UK. It is the combination of John’s love of the outdoors with his passion for writing and performance that makes him a uniquely powerful storyteller. His first two books, The Last Hillwalker and Bothy Tales, were both shortlisted for TGO Magazine’s Outdoor Book of the Year. His third book, Sky Dance, is published in 2019. He continues to develop his career as a writer, blogger and outdoor storyteller while exploring the wild places he loves.

A complete analysis of the eternal modern Western battle between those who focus on human limits (and who often wish humanity would disappear) and those who view science and technology as handmaidens to man's progress and destiny. If you want to know what Prince Charles says to you as you're appointed Order of the British Empire (OBE), how a liver surgeon and a paediatrician put an ear on a mouse's back with a 3D cell 'car park,' or what the future of precision medicine and genomics might be... then incredibly, you're in the right place. This week, James is joined by the inimitable Vivienna Parry OBE. Vivienne is a writer and broadcaster. A scientist by training, Vivienne hosts medical programmes for BBC Radio 4, writes widely on health, presents films, facilitates many high level conferences and trains young researchers. She has a part time role as Head of Engagement at Genomics England which delivered the 100,000 Genomes Project. She also sits on the board of UK Research & Innovation which is responsible for the strategic spend of the UK's £7 billion research budget. Many will remember Vivienne from her role as presenter of the BBC TV science programme Tomorrow's World between 1994 and 1997 when she was part of iconic technology breakthroughs that were displayed all around the world. Not short of an anecdote or two, James and Vivienne discuss Vivienne's career, from breaking thousands of pounds worth of equipment at UCL, through learning her trade women's health organisations, changing tack to broadcasting (blagging an interview with zero experience) and now into precision medicine and genetics. The latest episode of the podcast which asks: has there ever been a Good Bates? The year is 1982, Pop-Crazed Youngsters, and the world is waiting for England. Actually, no - what the world is waiting for is for Tomorrow's World to piss off, because this episode of The Pops is a bit special. No less than three football teams have been hitting the BBC bar all afternoon and rubbing a manky-jumpered shoulder with the Pop Elite and partake in an unforgettable half-hour-and-a-bit of flag-waving, scarf-brandishing, dirge-chanting palaver. It's not all footybollocks, though: Junior and Patrice Rushen get danced at by Zoo wankers. Original Junglists Tight Fit pretend to be Abba. Angry-yet-penitent Jim Diamond enters the fray. Bananarama get a leg-up by their mates Fun Boy Three. And Paul McCartney delivers a message to Racism: You Can Do One Right Now Please. And there's an actual war on. And fucking hell, it's Ken Baily! Simon Price and Taylor Parkes join Al Needham for a snuffle at the gusset of the Union Jack shorts of 1982, breaking off on such tangents as time travel-assisted infanticide, using members of the 1982 Brazil squad to insult girls you don't like, the incredible England 1982 LP, seeing Him Out Of Tight Fit in a Welsh nightclub, and how to make your own bra out of the contents of your pants drawer. This time - more than any other time - the swearing is outstandingly prolific. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Science broadcaster Vivienne famously presented Tomorrow's World and Panorama. In her pursuit to explain science to the public, she also wrote columns for The Times, The Guardian, and The News of the World; and was resident agony aunt, Lydia Mogg, for Good Housekeeping. In this in-depth interview, she walks through her career; criticises the television media for ageism against women; defends science reporters without an academic background; argues there's too little space for quality science reporting on TV, and calls on the BBC to bring back Tomorrow's World.
By the time you read this magazine, I trust that most of you have received the special "semi-annual" letter from our Editor in Chief, Dr. Roderick C. Meredith. Twice a year, he writes to Tomorrow's World subscribers with special "insider" news about the Work and about what the living Jesus Christ is doing in our world as we approach the end of this present age. Despite so many Satanic attacks on long-held biblical values, true Christians can remain loyal and faithful to their Savior, responding to Him with love and obedience, made possible by the gift of the Holy Spirit. Jesus stated in John 10:27, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." Full text at: http://www.tomorrowsworld.org/magazines/2016/july-august/are-you-responsive-to-jesus-christ
I took my new Tomorrow's World out of the mailbox and saw what I was looking for. Is there an unpardonable sin? I rushed home to read it twice with tears. I was certain the living God would destroy me. At the same time I could not find fault with God for my sins. It's taken me years to learn. Thank you for the knowledge. May God bless you all. Many have questioned whether corporations can fulfill a social purpose while still earning a profit --- from the early American corporations chartered to serve a public purpose, to Henry Ford's desire to spread the benefits of the industrial system to the greatest possible number, to modern Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. However, the operating environment for business has increasingly moved away from encouraging companies to pursue social purposes in their business activities. General incorporation statutes, limited liability laws, and changes in the post-war period have led to a situation in which corporations now mostly act with impunity --- largely free of requirements to serve a public purpose or even report the damages they cause to society and the environment. Last fall, Pavan Sukhdev a leading expert on the green economy, released the book Corporation 2020: Transforming Business for Tomorrow's World. In the book, Sukhdev argues that in order for corporations and society alike to survive and thrive, we need to rethink the way the business world works. This requires not just action by corporations, but also the strength of governments directed toward transforming regulations and creating incentives for corporations to change and adapt. With the clock ticking toward 2020, Sukhdev is returning to Yale a year later to break down how his sweeping vision of how a better corporate model is being realized.
Better late than never, this episode was recorded a few weeks ago but remains nearly as relevant today, as it was then. In somewhat of Tramadol haze, Mark navigates his way through the main medical journals and poses some interesting questions concerning speciality guest appearances in ED and tobacco funded research, and imparts some friendly advice to Bex on her upcoming cycling tour. Frank does a Tomorrow's World spot and and gives us the low down on vehicular based patient monitoring, while Bex finds Anaesthesia News strangely 'uplifting'. For this month's journal paper, Rik looks at the year's biggest critical care news from the PROSEVA trial and learns how patient proning can lead to a relative risk reduction of 50% from ARDS mortality. For the first time ever, Bex is on the quiz master's chair for BorB and Frank gets burned by the unlikely tag team of a recovery nurse and a cardiology SHO.
The Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies will host a public event to launch the new book Corporation 2020: Transforming Business for Tomorrow's World, by Pavan Sukhdev. The book launch will feature a discussion between Yvon Chouinard (Founder of Patagonia and Co-author of "The Responsible Company"), Vincent Stanley (writer and editor for Patagonia and Co-author of "The Responsible Company") and Pavan Sukhdev (Author of Corporation 2020).
In episode #146, Clint R. Laurent discusses how the resolution of sovereign debt problems in the United States and the Eurozone will affect economic activity and the flows of trade and finance across the globe.
