In 2018, Elizabethton High School students teacher Alex Campbell challenged his students to see if they could figure out if the Redhead murders are sometimes called the Bible Belt Murders. There were 14 unsolved murders with a similar M.O. Campbell gets help from a former FBI agent teaching the young people about profiling a case. The students of Elizabethton High School start to see a potential pattern emerge in six of the potential murders. In looking at the background of the murders, they started New Years day 1985, the body of a young female with reddish hair was found strangled, wrapped in a blanket and tossed down an embankment off the southbound side of I-75 near Jellico, Tennessee. Due to decomposition, authorities believe she was killed about 72 hours before her body was found, 10-12 weeks pregnant when she was murdered. The identification of Tina McKenney Farmer of Indiana helped the investigation move forward quickly. The evidence from the crime scene was tested and a match was found. The DNA matched Jerry Johns, convicted in the 1987 attempted murder of a woman he kidnapped , strangled, and then dumped along I-40. Linda Schacke met Jerry Johns in a club in West Knoxville, Tennesee. The 36-year-old trucker seems like a nice guy until he pulls a gun, forces her at gunpoint to drive to a wooded area off the interstate where he rips her shirt and uses part of it to strangle her. Johns then tosses the strangled and bound woman on the inside of a storm drain under I-40. Like Tina Famer and many others, Linda Schacke has red hair, Unlike the others, Linda Schacke survives the attack. When Jerry Johns was convicted of the attack on Schacke, he was considered a suspect in some homicides, but there was never enough evidence. However, even though Tina Marie McKenney Farmer was positively identified by fingerprint identification, there was DNA left behind in the blanket she was wrapped up in after she was killed. 2019, DNA evidence identified convicted kidnapper Jerry Leon Johns as the man that killed Tina Marie McKenney Farmer in December 1984. Johns died in prison in 2015. On December 18, 2019, a grand jury in Campbell County, Tennessee, ruled that Johns would have been indicted for murder in Farmer's death if he were still alive. The students of Elizabethton High School continue to investigate and believe they have developed some strong evidence that shows whoever killed McKenney-Farmer, probably killed Lisa Nichols, Michelle Inman, Elizabeth Lamotte, Tracy Walker and even a still unidentified Jane Doe in Desoto County. Reddit u/Maximum-Examination1 I think it's too early to see the 3rd thru 5 round rookies that beat out incumbent starters. I like NE Marte Mapu. Facebook u/Andrew I'm curious about whether you should be getting any New York Giants linebackers not named Bobby Okereke. I believe that because the Giants are investing so little into the inside linebacker position and they might give Xavier McKinney the green dot, he's one of the top safeties to pick up. This week… Detroit Lions safety Tracy Walker! Since being selected by the Lions in the 2018 NFL Draft, Tracy has made a name for himself as one of the best open field tacklers in football, leading the Lions in that category by a wide margin in 2021. 2022, however, was a different story as Tracy tore his Achilles tendon in week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings. Following intense rehab, Tracy made a full recovery in a mere 6 and a half months and is 100% cleared for Lions training camp. On this week's pod, Tracy talks about being sidelined for the majority of last season and how he was still able to help his team win, his excitement and expectations for the 2023 season (including the Lions season opening Thursday Night Football game in Kansas City against the defending Super Bowl champs), and much more. Tracy is a class act and it was a pleasure having him on the show. Enjoy! In this episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Jeff are back with the latest Detroit Lions news and rumors, and ready to break down the most recent breaking news on the Detroit Lions 2023 NFL Free Agency moves. The Lions have signed a number key free agents this year so far including CB Cam Sutton, CB Emmanuel Moseley, and RB David Montgomery. They have also retained DL Isiah Buggs, RB Craig Reynolds, LB Alex Anzalone, and Edge John Cominsky. There is a notable re-signing exception in fan favorite, Jamaal Williams. We'll discuss the Detroit Lions choices, and what they mean for the Lions 2023 NFL Draft. Detroit Lions Podcast Reacts To Lions 2023 NFL Free Agency Moves There are a number of other big topics to cover this week as well. We have to discuss the addition of Michael Grey to the team - someone you folks are going to absolutely adore - and some of the great value he will bring to the team. There's also Tracy Walker and his post-injury progress. Coming back from an Achilles is no easy task, but Tracy looks like he's on track to overcome. There's also the situation with Charles Harris. A guy who had a tough injury year last year and who is taking a pay cut to stay with the Detroit Lions this year. Hopefully we get to see the Charles Harris Lions fans have grown to love. Also, we would be remiss if we didn't discuss Jalen Carter and the whirlwind of disaster that has surrounded him since the 2023 NFL Combine. Oh yeah, then there's also that Aaron Rodgers guy. We'll spend a few minutes giggling about him too. Tons to cover this week, so get down and buckle up! After a tight first quarter between River Ridge and Blessed Trinity, the Knights made a change to their defensive approach and took off from there in Friday night's 65-47 second-round Class AAAAAA playoff win. The score was knotted at 11-11 through the first eight minutes, with River Ridge coming out in a press. The Titans were able to break it, though, and with their potent guard play, quickly move down the court and score. River Ridge changed its approach in the second quarter and outscored Blessed Trinity 16-2 going into halftime. River Ridge will face off against Marist in the Elite 8 after the War Eagles jumped on Tift County 61-37. Marist beat Blessed Trinity 49-34 earlier this season. In other girls' playoff action, Sequoyah pulled off the rare feat of sweeping a non-region foe in three games when they beat North Forsyth on Friday. Sequoyah jumped out to a 10-0 lead after bringing defensive pressure, forcing turnovers and scoring in those transition opportunities. The Chiefs took care of the ball on their end and knocked down shots. Sayler Davies hit a pair of 3-pointers in the first half, and Addison Ghorley connected on another. With the raucous Raiders' crowd, Sequoyah had to nullify its impact. After falling to Woodstock in the Region 6AAAAAA championship, Sequoyah has now won three straight games, with the last two coming by double digits. The Chiefs will meet Brunswick in the quarterfinals on Tuesday night. The Pirates defeated Woodward Academy in Round 2. With a hobbled Dastin Hart and a substantial size disadvantage, Cherokee's defense rose to the challenge in Saturday's 73-58 home playoff win over Berkmar, sending the Warriors to the Class AAAAAA Elite 8. Cherokee's shooters caught fire early, with Tayden Owens connecting on two straight 3-pointers to start the night. Berkmar went to Mekhi Ragland early in the paint, but the Warriors defended him well throughout the night and denied easy entry passes. Owens was the game's leading scorer with 26 points, followed closely by his backcourt running mate Cameron Pope, who finished at 22 points. Lawrence Sanford pitched in 15 points off the bench. Cherokee moves on to face Carrollton in Round 2, which defeated Parkview 58-56 on Saturday. Top of Form In other boys' basketball action, Etowah coach Jason Dasinger said the first half of Saturday night's high school basketball playoff game was on him. He let the players take over the second half, and that propelled to a 59-42 victory over Pope in the second round of the Class AAAAAA tournament. Aiden Weaver led a trio of Eagles players in double-digits with 16 points. Mason Etter and Brandon Rechsteiner added 15 points apiece. Sixth-ranked Etowah (21-8) moves on to the quarterfinals and will play at No. 2 St. Pius X on Wednesday in Chamblee. St. Pius X beat Lakeside-Evans 62-57 on Saturday. The Magistrate Court of Cherokee County has received a Judicial Excellence Award for Clearance Rate Excellence. The magistrate court received the award Jan. 25 for the 2021 calendar year, the court announced. This marks the fourth year the Cherokee County Magistrate Court has earned the award. The award is presented annually by the Administrative Office of the Courts' Standing Committee on Judicial Workload Assessment to the top 10% of counties in terms of clearance rate (16 counties out of 159). A clearance rate of 100% or greater demonstrates that the court is keeping up with its caseload. Deputy Clerk Elaine Ellis added that “it is truly amazing to see what can be accomplished when a team works together to achieve a common goal.” A former Woodstock High School teacher will serve three years in prison after he pleaded guilty to touching and groping six underage high school students, the Cherokee County District Attorney's Office announced. Ryan Parker McKendrick, 40, entered a negotiated guilty plea to nine counts of sexual assault of a student Feb. 9. Senior Judge C.J. Gober Jr. sentenced McKendrick to 20 years, with the first three years to serve in prison and the rest on probation. Upon probation, he will be under sex offender special conditions, and is forbidden to have contact with the victims or minors under the age of 18. In September 2018, administrators at the school became aware of a text conversation involving McKendrick and two female students that led to an investigation. McKendrick had been the school's chorus teacher since 2007. Investigators with Cherokee County School Police and Cherokee Sheriff's Office determined that many students had experienced similar behavior from McKendrick, prosecutors said. Eight of the victims delivered impact statements at the plea hearing, describing the abuse as traumatizing and a betrayal of trust, according to the district attorney's office. They said they continue to feel self-doubt and insecurity, and they struggle to trust anyone, especially those in positions of authority. Victims said they were relieved that the defendant admitted to the charges by pleading guilty. Holly Springs residents will soon see new playground equipment, as well as a dog park when visiting Barrett Park later this year. The Holly Springs City Council unanimously approved a $16,323 professional design service fee for improvements to Barrett Park Thursday to BM&K Inc. Another design service fee for $12,123 to the same company was approved for maintenance to the Barrett Springs detention pond. Improvements to the park include replacing the current playground equipment with new equipment, as well as replacing the basketball goal and improving the court. The city also plans to add an off-leash dog park, closed in with a chain length fence and connected to water to accommodate canine watering stations. The off-leash dog park will be inside the park on the west side of the gazebo, Holly Springs City Manager Rob Logan said Friday. The project also includes installing drains at the playground and refreshing the site with play-safe mulch, constructing a closed stormwater system from the east boundary of the park to the creek, and resurfacing and striping the parking lot along with the entrance road. BM&K will provide demo plans, a grading plan, drainage design, utility sheet and erosion control, according to city documents. Sequoyah-Con, a three-part miniature convention series hosted by the Sequoyah Regional Library system, will be held at area libraries on March 4, 11 and 18. Two of the three events will be at Cherokee County locations: the R.T. Jones Memorial Library in Canton and the Woodstock Public Library in Woodstock. The conventions are free to participate in and are open to all ages. March 4, the R.T. Jones Memorial Library in Canton is hosting a Pokémon program schedule starting at 10 a.m. that includes Pokémon-themed crafts, scavenger hunts, cross-stitch, paper circuits, terrariums, and more. There will also be two trivia games, one for adults and one for children. The program will end with a Pokémon costume contest from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. On March 11, the next event in the series is a gaming-themed program at the Gilmer County Library in Ellijay. Visitors of all ages are invited to play different games throughout the day, and there will be kid-specific games in the youth activity room. There will be a craft market, Breath of the Wild scavenger hunt, a fan art display and more. The last event, hosted by the Woodstock Public Library, is a cryptids program. The itinerary includes activities begin at 10:30 a.m. and include age-group crafting hours, X-Files trivia, a Pet Semetary stuffed animal craft, ectoplasm slime making and more. Special guests at the Woodstock library include author Delilah Dawson, storyteller Tracy Walker and a representative from Georgia Paranormal Investigations. Walker will be hosting a Bigfoot story time from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. March 18, open to all ages. Dawson, a published Georgia fantasy and science fiction writer, will be hosting a Q&A panel from 2-3 p.m. Georgia Paranormal Investigations will give a presentation about paranormal activity and ghost hunting from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The library system is also holding a reading challenge on Beanstack where participants can earn badges for reading books related to convention themes. The reading challenge ends March 31.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We have a story of life change through the Gospel to share with you today. Greg Huggins joined us in the studio to share how the Lord brought him to Himself. Greg has been at Desert Springs for many years, leading many Sunday morning classes and Bible studies and now serving as an elder. Though Greg did not come to know the Lord until he was in his early 30s, he feels that God's hand was working in his life even before that. Greg moved to Arizona when he joined the Air Force after high school. He was serving at Luke Air Force Base and began to somewhat settle in Arizona after getting married. Greg struggled in his commitment to his marriage and attempted to live a bachelor lifestyle while also being a husband and father. During those years he would play basketball at a church in Phoenix that opened up their gyms on Saturday mornings. They would do short devotionals in between pickup games and though Greg didn't resonate with the messages then that ministry would meet him many years later after he came to Christ. But before that Greg reached a point where, in his words, he wanted to be free of his marriage and he decided to divorce his wife. He felt stuck in a cycle of sin. Shortly after that process wrapped up Greg was driving on a Tuesday afternoon and while sitting at 51st Ave + McDowell he felt the tangible presence of the Lord come upon him. Though it wasn't audible, he felt the Lord clearly speaking to him saying, "Come to Me." It was a powerful moment that changed his life forever. Greg walks us through what the Lord did in his life after that moment, how God radically changed his heart and life, how being discipled strengthened his walk as a new believer, his desire to serve and how passionate he is about discipleship and the fellowship in Christ. We are so looking forward to sharing today's conversation with you! Our host Sarah Schalow got to record an amazing conversation with her friend Haley Smith. Haley has been at Desert Springs since the early 2000s and has literally grown up at the church. She was involved in the youth group, participating in SMI trips and all of the things we love to offer our students. Though Haley had a relationship with God she explains that she began to feel this tension of living two different lives during high school. She felt that she had to keep her struggles under wraps. After high school Haley attended the University of Arizona and tried her best to stay close to what she knew would be best for her. Being in a new environment brought ups and downs and Haley still had this feeling that she could not be open with those around her, especially those who knew her from home. One day in the spring of 2015 a decision she never thought she would make brought about a pregnancy at the age of 19. You'll hear Haley talks us through how she began to tell people around her, how the pregnancy brought her back to close community, what life was like as a young single mom and how her son Forrest made her want to be a better Christian and woman. Haley also met the love of her life at Desert Springs and became a college professor, you'll get to hear those stories too! Haley ultimately encourages all of us to remember that God never fails us; even when we have moments of failure, He is right there with us ready to walk us through. We have a very sweet conversation to share with you! This is our last interview for 2022 but don't worry, we have some fun and light content for Christmas coming to the podcast over the next few weeks. Then we'll be back in 2023 with more amazing stories of God's faithfulness! But today, our host Sarah Schalow is talking with our friend Ruth Hill. Sarah and Ruth immediately bonded over their love for coffee so we'd encourage you to grab a cup as you listen to this conversation! Ruth shares so much about how she feels redemption is threaded throughout her life story. She feels that her life is full of remembering God's promises, His provision, His faithfulness, His commands and directions for her life, gratitude for what He has done and life eternally. You will hear about each of these things in Ruth's life as she talks about how accepting Christ at the age of 13 totally changed her life and gave her purpose as she grew up. Ruth is very passionate about studying God's Word and being involved in Christian community and challenges all of us to really evaluate where we're at in our lives with that. This is a great interview to listen to as you begin to consider what God might have for you in 2023. Ruth says her main goal for this upcoming year is to intentionally engage with God, connect with others and live on mission - we hope that is a goal for you too!For more information about discipleship opportunities for men at Desert Springs email Shawn Jones at shawn@dscchurch.comFor more information about discipleship opportunities for women at Desert Springs email Tracy Walker at twalker@dscchurch.comWould you please subscribe and leave us a review? The Detroit Lions enter another week and we talk a little bit about the Tracy Walker safety situation (3:35) but we also thought we'd give you a little reprieve from all of the chatter about Matt Patricia and a floundering football team by bringing on Jeff Pearlman, the host of 'Two Writers Slinging Yang' and the author of 'Three-Ring Circus: Kobe, Shaq, Phil and the Crazy Years of the Lakers Dynasty," which is in bookstores and available today. (12:40). It's a fun conversation about writing, creating a book and even a little bit about the USFL and also former Lions legend Billy Sims. This episode is sponsored by Visa, Indeed and BetOnline.
The Detroit Lions returned to practice Wednesday and on a wet, soggy training camp day it was safety Tracy Walker that stood out. What could that mean for him? What's going on with the kick return battle? And also a little bit more on the Lions' protest over the shooting of Jacob Blake on Tuesday and what they are hoping their message brought.
The Detroit Lions were back in pads and back on the field -- with rookies once again standing out. We discuss Jason Huntley's potential role on the team. Jonah Jackson is still starting and, while not a rookie, Tracy Walker is starting to look like a guy who could really make a difference for the Lions in 2020.

In this episode, I have the honor of speaking with an amazing woman, Tracy Walker. We are talking about how to co-author your child's or other young people's stories. How can we as adults who have lived and learned, help young people to learn and live by empowering them. Make sure you head to the blog to get your free worksheet! Www.bougieblackblogger.com About Tracy Walker I’m the owner/educational consultant of Tutor Doctor Allen and Plano. We provide virtual and in-home tutoring for students of all ages, grade levels and subjects. Before Tutor Doctor, I spent over 20 years working for a Fortune 500 company in several marketing and advertising roles. It was great work while it lasted, but I was in search of a new field where I could drive change in the community. When the idea came along to own a Tutor Doctor office, I quickly jumped on the opportunity. We worked with an in-home tutor for my oldest son when he was in 1st grade and again in 3rd grade, so I understand how beneficial it is as a parent to have someone come to your home, on your time, and provide the academic support that your child (and family) needs. The passion I have to see my own children succeed in school is the same passion I bring to the community. It was a breath of fresh air hearing how Dr. Walker has built a growing practice that would be the envy of any practice owner.I had to chat with her on the podcast to celebrate a great business. Ginny and Charlie discuss a busy weekend that had not one but TWO trips to Dayton, and a foray into the mysterious lands of suburban Cincinnati. On Friday there was a trip to Johnny's Italian Steakhouse and Trinity Pub to see Tracy Walker perform. Saturday was Little Lebowski Fest in Dayton with all the bowling and white Russians you would expect from such an event. Sunday Ginny joined a bartenders trip to Dayton with stops at Belle of Dayton Distillery, Lilly's Bistro, Warped Wing and Toxic Brewing. Of course the big story of the week was the passing of musical genius Prince. Charlie had a deep attachment to The Artist and to discuss him and his legacy we are joined Tom Hester who has some stories of his own to share about this legend. You will not want to miss this one.
Our guest, Tracy Walker, was a LeRoy Finkel Fellowship Finalist. She and with four others finalists presented their Big Idea to a packed audience at the National CUE Conference last month.
