In this episode of the Touchdown Wire NFL Podcast, we talk with Aaron Schatz and Mike Tanier of Football Outsiders about the history of the site, their advanced metrics, the new Football Outsiders Almanac (go buy it, kids!), and their player and team projections for the 2021 NFL season. Among the topics discussed:  In a world where advanced metrics are everywhere, how has it changed what FO (the originators of a lot of this) does? Why FO is unexpectedly high on some teams (Seahawks, Saints), and unexpectedly low on others (Browns, Chargers) What FO's projections say about bouncebacks for teams that had rotten injury luck the year before (Hello, 49ers!) Why Kliff Kingsbury needs to stop exercising his internal Chip Kelly. Whether Lamar Jackson is what he is, or whether he'll take a big leap as a passer in 2021. Why Aaron is picking the Cowboys to go to the Super Bowl (!). Why Carson Wentz is a flower, and Jared Goff is a JUGS machine. Why the Patriots might have a bigger uptick on defense than offense this season. All this and more with two of the smartest football guys around!

Hear about what it is like to be in a MAP session, the emotional, mental and physical benefits he experienced after 3 sessions and why he would recommend the method to others. In this episode we discuss: - How Aaron learned about the MAP Method and why he decided to try it. - Aaron's experience with talk therapy and how it compares with MAP. - How working with a childhood trauma memory in a MAP session changed his relationship to it and unburdened him in more ways than he expected. - The framework we use in MAP sessions and how clients are initiated to the method. - Why we choose an emotional topic for the introductory 60-minute session. - What we mean when we talk about “neutralizing” memories. - How MAP allows us to harness the power of the subconscious to neutralize painful emotions around a traumatic memory and all the associations to it. - How working with trauma memories, disempowering beliefs or unwanted emotional responses can change mental, behavioral and physical patterns. - The emotional, mental and physical shifts Aaron noticed after three sessions. - The science that underlies the MAP Method and recommended resources for learning more. - How your subconscious rewires itself during a session and the safeguards that make the method easy and safe. - How you can use the MAP Method on yourself after the first session. - Why Aaron recommends the MAP Method to others. Aaron’s pick takes us to the dystopian UK of 1982’s PINK FLOYD – THE WALL, a musical journey through not just one man’s steady decline into fascist individualism, but that of all of Western society. In this discussion, we consider what the visual story structure does for the music it’s based on, what elements of the movie have been blindly co-opted by the international conservative front, and what the movie’s use of viewpoint does to communicate its story. If you’re like most people, you’ve probably spent more time than you would like to admit on your couch, in front of a screen, or both since the pandemic started. We’ve all been there, so it’s no surprise that a recent study published by BMC Public Health showed that levels of sedentary behavior have skyrocketed while levels of exercise have decreased over the last seven months. What comes as more of a shock is that these trends are showing a tendency to become permanently entrenched. Today’s guest, world-renowned movement coach and therapist Aaron Alexander, is here to offer a few tools to help all of us put down our phones and reconnect with our physiology. Instead of recommending sweeping lifestyle changes, Aaron makes an argument for subtle, steady shifts to your daily life—starting with spending 30 minutes on the floor every day.  Aaron explains that movement doesn’t need to be complicated—but we do need to move. Because when you’re stressed, and you don’t move, your system begins to deteriorate. 2020 might not be the year to undertake a complete transformation, but adding in more movement is incredibly important right now, for your health and happiness. Enjoy my conversation with Aaron Alexander, and give his suggestions a try.  You might even start to see the world differently from down there on the floor. In this episode you’ll discover: Why movement helps to bring your brain online and deal with stress. What role your personal narrative plays in how you approach your health. How posture is linked to your perception of the world—and the world’s perception of you. How simply doing the work and showing up can help you manifest success. Why swift lifestyle changes don’t always have staying power. How our belongings can harbor psychological weight.  The connection between bringing organization into your body and bringing organization into your home. Why it’s important to get out of the same repetitive sitting position you’ve been in since kindergarten. Why Aaron recommends spending at least 30 minutes a day on the ground. How poor food choices are more likely when you feel out of control—and vice versa. The three simple things Aaron says you can do every day to bring alignment to your life.  Items mentioned in this episode include: Eatsmarterbook.com Pre-order Eat Smarter to get the mini-course on the 10 foods that are clinically proven to optimize your fat loss hormones. Building a fulfilling and lasting career in Hollywood definitely isn’t easy, but when you’re starting from the bottom rung of the ladder with zero contacts and just breaking in it can seem downright IMPOSSIBLE. But no matter who you are, where you come from, or who you do or don’t know, anyone can get their foot in the door using the right strategy. As today’s guest says, “It’s all about getting into people’s inboxes to make things happen.” My guest, Aaron Schmidt, is currently the Post Production Assistant on Cobra Kai who managed to land his position on a hit studio television show just months after graduating from college (which by the way is extremely unusual). Glancing at his resume as an Arizona State University cum laude graduate with Dean’s List honors and several credits on high profile studio projects while still in college, you’d probably never guess that Aaron began his education being placed in special ed because he was dyslexic. But Aaron has learned there’s a lot more to being successful and forging a path in Hollywood than just “getting lucky.” In today’s episode Aaron and I break down his experience on Cobra Kai, how he landed the gig in the first place, what his duties are as the post-production assistant (post PA), what he’s learned, and most importantly how he can improve so he lands his next gig (which by the way he already has..sorry, spoiler alert). Want to Hear More Episodes Like This One? » Click here to subscribe and never miss another episode Here’s What You’ll Learn: On breaking into Hollywood: How Aaron found no answers in film school and the intuitive insights that led him to chart his own path. Why Aaron thinks EntertainmentCareers.net is a “blackhole”. How he set himself up for a “lucky break” that led to his Post PA position on Cobra Kai. The 8 magic words that landed Aaron his first Post PA job after multiple failed interviews. Zack’s Interviewing Mindset Tip: “Demonstrate you have a very clear understanding of all of the challenges of the person interviewing you, why you are the best solution to those challenges, and why you are the person who is going to make their life easier.” What a Post PA actually does in studio television. How Aaron earned more responsibility for himself than his position required, making himself a more valuable member of the team and increased his chances of getting hired on the next project. KEY INSIGHT: Know what you want/where you want to be. Make it clear how people can help you. People are more willing to help than you’d expect – they just need clarity on HOW. How Aaron’s dyslexia actually helped him be more resourceful and attentive to detail. The importance of “crawling into the brain” of those you work with to anticipate their needs. Why “Leave your ego at the door” is sage advice, no matter your position. He graduated cum laude with Dean’s List honors and a Bachelor of Arts degree. Aaron has worked within many film and TV realms, stretching from his work with HBO’s television show Camping to Sony Pictures’s Cobra Kai and now working in development for TBS’s new show Obliterated. Aaron also has worked with independent film producers at Indy Entertainment on the films The Au Pair and Model Citizen. There he helped online and deliver final cuts of the films. When Aaron is not in the office helping make characters come to life, he is advocating for the Learn Disability community. Aaron has spoken at many Hyde Park Day School conferences, helping parents understand what it is like to be dyslexic. He has also been a sounding board for teachers trying to update their curriculums to better suit their dyslexic students. Aaron will continue to help students set themselves up for success. Aaron brings a great deal of energy and a necessary sense of humor to the discussion around difference. He comes from a background in education, having taught English and Theater to high school students in both inner-city and suburban schools. He has also worked with adults learning English at the Lehmann Center in Minneapolis, as well as in a variety of after-school programs serving academically struggling students. A certified Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) Administrator, his training work has centered on issues of diversity, with a special focus on managing across differences. This week I'm interviewing Aaron Kwittken, founder of KWT in the latest of life stories podcasts. Aaron started KWT, formally Kwittken, 13 years ago. Before this he followed a big agency career path working at MSL, Ketchum, Fleishman, Cohn and Wolfe and Havas. KWT has a fee income of $12 to $15 million dollars and around 80 employees including 12 in London. Aarron sold KWT to MDC Partners in 2010 and still owns a minority stake in the firm. MDC Partners also owns Allison Partners, Hunter PR and Sloane & Co. Here is a summary of what Aaron and I discussed: Why having spent 13 years working for some of the world's biggest PR firms he decided to launch Kwittken. 0.59 mins Why mediocrity can hide at big agencies in a way in can't in smaller firms. 01.19 mins Why it's wrong that the more senior you get in a large agency the further away you get from actually serving clients. 01.43 mins How Aaron defines the difference between practice areas and specialisms, and why it's an important consideration in how you organise an agency. 02.05 mins Why the need for more of a collaborative approach means agencies must rid themselves of departments and fiefdoms. 02.53 mins How KWT is set up so that junior staff don't have a vertical specialsm, it's a matrix structure. 03.09 mins Why the greatest mark of success of a business is not what an employee does while they're with you, but what they do when they leave. 04.08 mins Why matching people's passions to the clients they work on is really important. 04.30 mins Whether Aaron regrets selling KWT at such an early stage (when it had eight employees, it now has 80). 05.54 mins How MDC Partners merged KWT into a digital agency and then KWT "spun themselves back out". 05.59 mins Why there will be 2 types of PR firms - earned media shops and brand marketing agencies. 07.51 mins What impact the financial difficulties of KWT's owner and holding company MDC Partners has on the business. 09.56 mins Why London still is such an important place for US firms to have a presence. 11.17 mins What has Aaron learnt from acquiring PR agencies? 14.06 mins Why Aaron looks at agencies like shopping malls. 15.31 mins Which areas Aaron wants to make acquisitions in in London next year. 16.38 mins and 28.39 mins Why short-term earn outs in PR don't work. 17.34 mins Why KWT is bigger now than if Aaron had not taken investment from MDC Partners. 19.40 mins Why Aaron never wants to grow KWT beyond 150-200 people. 21.06 mins Why agencies need a purpose. 24.07 mins Why the dots on the map approach to international PR firms is outdated. 24.48 mins How Aaron took up Ironman in 2008 after his dad passed away from congestive heart failure. 31.26 mins Why Aaron's best thinking is done when he's swimming. 33.45 mins Why Aaron isn't worried about Brexit. 36.15 mins Why firms that have multiple offices spread their risk. 37.05 mins

This is the Longevity Now All-Stars mashup show, featuring six guests doing lightning round questions. I've been attending the Longevity Now Conference in Anaheim for years and have used it as a home base to record 10 of my 150 episodes over the past two years. In fact, a few of my very first shows were recorded there in 2016. The LNC is one of the most well-attended health and wellness conferences in the world, and with good reason. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more diverse and brilliant group of people. I've interviewed many of the esteemed speakers, vendors, and even a couple attendees. There’s so much packed into this monster of an episode and six incredibly unique perspectives, but there’s one thing everyone agrees on – SUGAR IS BAD! This extraordinary show covers an insanely wide variety of topics like being hit by lightning, seeing entities at John of God in Brazil, drinking your own pee as medicine, the power of Ayurvedic medicine, the benefits and risks of plant medicine, and just about every other health trend the world has ever known.   This unique bonus episode includes appearances by the following guests: Zen Wyldflower Nishimura, one of the biodynamic chocolatiers behind ZenBunni and a purveyor of the best incense in the world. Although making up 13 percent of the population, African Americans own less than 1 percent of the rural land in the United States.  White Americans, however, own a staggering 856 million acres, which is about 98 percent of all rural property in the United States. Wild, right? So it's not crazy when I say that communities of color, low-income residents and other historically marginalized groups have traditionally faced barriers to accessing nature. That's why Ancestral Health Radio is dedicated to, and promotes, inclusivity and social justice through transitional lifeways.  Because it's the most disadvantaged and powerless people in our societies who are most likely to be affected by rising fuel and food prices, resource shortages and extreme weather events. We want to increase the chances of all groups in society to live well, healthily and with sustainable livelihoods. We have to accept that although much progress has been made, there is much more work that needs to be done. And most of that work begins and ends with us, as an individual. “An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.”— Martin Luther King, Jr. To rise above, you must first begin to ask yourself better questions.  To help you do this, I've invited my friend Aaron Johnson on today's episode of Ancestral Health Radio. Aaron shares insights into how we, as white Americans, can begin to breakdown cultural barriers that blind us from seeing the truth of our privilege. In today's episode, you'll learn... Why Aaron believes there are so few black people within the rewilding community, The first thing Aaron says you need to commit yourself to if you wish to become an ally to people of color, 5 questions that will help you critically examine your own relationship to blackness, And much, much more. Episode Breakdown Aaron explains what Holistic Resistance is and why it's become the focus of his work Why Aaron says he didn't know he was being prepared for this kind of work for the last 20 years of his life Is racism different where ever you go? Is there a right way to integrate and think about black people versus a dangerous one? Why Aaron doesn't do workshops of 100-200 people Is rewilding a privilege? Why white people never ask, "Who's not here?" Why Aaron says he's a walking contradiction Aaron unpacks the difference between loving a black person, dating a black person, and actually being close to a black person The silent suffering and exploitation of black women in the medical community Why Aaron is a big advocate for one-on-one or small group coaching The two things Aaron wants you to remember when asking yourself questions What Aaron does NOT want you to do when asking yourself questions to get close to blackness The three different levels to each of Aaron's questions, and how to "slow it down" James answers Aaron's first three questions Why Aaron says black people have a hard time being vulnerable around white people when talking about racism Why Aaron believes there are so few African heritage therapists And much, much more.

By 2009, mobile users could do a lot with smartphone apps—get directions, listen to music, take pictures, play games, even film a video. Aaron Kardell thought that you ought to be able to add ‘look for a house’ to the growing list of applications, and he founded HomeSpotter with the intention of doing just that.   Aaron grew up in rural Nebraska in a family of entrepreneurs.
