First of all I have to let you know that it's a miracle that no podcasters were harmed during the making of this episode.Bloody hell! What have I done? The cringe factor in this movie is off the charts - it's worse than getting “sand up your clacker” (if you've watched this movie, you'll get the reference). However, the opening scene does provide a reasonable example of progressive complications in action. The conversation (I refuse to call this a debate) rages on about Baby Will and his parents' decision to not allow him to receive blood from people who have received a vaccination. Today many experts weighed in including medical experts on what it would mean should the parents win to the system and medical professionals who explained why it's not just a simple thing to get blood for Will from unvaccinated people. Jordan Petersen, professional angry white man, has today made his latest angry statement about QANTAS daring to include some culture in their announcements on flights. Petersen, who believes strongly in the free market, but obviously still wants to control some private businesses and how they operate. His supporters are a raft of NZs best known conspiracy theorists and while Philip admitted his guilt, showed remorse for his actions, and accepted his sentence the grifters are still trying to say he's been hard done by. Since his sentencing more details are now in the public domain as to what he actually did, we'll look at the tonight

Welcome to another Goss episode here on the Aussie English podcast! I found this online article about restaurants in Queensland banning people from entering their establishments if they have facial or neck tattoos. It sort of triggers Australians as people start to take sides. Some say that it's good to have the ban because people find such tattoos offensive, while others rave that there shouldn't be discrimination because these are paying customers. So, where do we draw the line on having visible body tattoos? What if it's a Michelin-starred restaurant, a client makes a reservation, and turns up at the place with tattoos all over? Would they run the client off? We wonder if they associated having tattoos with violent bikie gangs. But we all know not all tattooed people are nutters. How can someone tell? The spotlight shines brightly on our latest FORTY star: multi-award winning actor, director, producer, playwright, and author, Leah Purcell. A mesmerising storyteller and proud Goa-Gunggari-Wakka Wakka Murri woman, Leah takes us on a journey from her childhood as the youngest of seven children, to why the death of her much-loved mother set her free, her fierce love for netball, and how yelling a promise into the Snowy Mountains birthed her play, book, and upcoming feature film, The Drover’s Wife: The Legend of Molly Johnson. Leah wrote a list of dreams and aspirations at 15, 21, and again at 40. Now 50, has she ticked them all off? And what happens when you believe you can be who you want to be? We find out in FORTY.
