Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Billy Gilman, Award-Winning, Double Platinum Recording ArtistAbout Harvey's guest: Today's special guest is Billy Gilman, award-winning singer and double-platinum recording artist, who's been thrilling audiences with his strong, crystal clear, perfect pitch voice, since he first burst onto the music scene at the age of 11, with his massive debut hit song, “One Voice”.   He was the youngest artist to ever reach #1 on the Billboard Top Country Album charts.  And he was one of the youngest artists EVER to be nominated for a Grammy award, AND the youngest artist to win an American Music Award for Favourite Country New Artist.    Following the success of “One Voice”, he's had numerous hit songs, including “Oklahoma”, “There's a Hero”, “Wishing You Were Here”, “Soldier” and “Say You Will”.   In 2016, he once again ascended to international acclaim, when he competed in Season 11 of NBC's blockbuster TV show “The Voice”.   After a stunning rendition of Adele's hit song, “When We Were Young”, he got a 4-chair turn from the judges, making it all the way to the finale, and finishing as runner-up.  His performances had over 45 million views on YouTube in only 4 months, during his sensational run on the show.  And he scored 9 iTunes number one singles.   His album of songs that he performed on “The Voice”, is one of the best selling albums by ANY contestant in the HISTORY of that show.   In fact, so far our guest has sold over 10 million albums worldwide, including my all-time favourite Christmas album, “Classic Christmas”, which went gold.  In 2014 he was named the Artist Music Guild's Heritage Mainstream Artist of the Year.  And if THAT weren't enough, he's been honored by the Senate and House of Representatives of his home state, Rhode Island, for representing his state so beautifully as an artist. For more interviews and podcasts go to: https://www.harveybrownstoneinterviews.com/ https://www.billygilman.com/https://www.instagram.com/billygilmanofficial/http://facebook.com/billygilmanhttp://twitter.com/BillyGilmanhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVe9-ImI1FfdtdmCYnT368Q #BillyGilman  #TheVoice  #harveybrownstoneinterviews

He has sold ten million albums worldwide and garnered awards and nods from The Grammy's, the Academy of Country Music, the Country Music Association, Billboard Magazine, and the American Music Association. Now, Gilman is eager to come back and share his new music and his new sound with his fans after soaring to the finale of NBC's THE VOICE. “It took me a good while to figure out exactly who I was, musically speaking. As a little kid, sometimes I was just told what to sing. But now I have enjoyed coming into my own and discovering what it really is that I want to sing. And I think that my fans will dig what they hear. He shared that he is drawn to the country genre once again since the songs are storytelling tunes, and that's who he is, musically and artistically. "I'm making my transition back home, that's why I calling my newest of concerts 'Coming Home'," he said.  “Music is my life, and it is always what I will be doing with my life. Billy Gilman’s story is as American and as moving and inspiring as the lyrics of any country music song. Signed to a record deal at age 11, Billy’s smash hit One Voice captured hearts and fans but Billy’s awareness of his truth was moving faster than Nashville’s ability to accept it. Billy came out as gay in 2014 and moved into the power pop lane for his season on The Voice where he placed second. Only now is he turning back towards his country roots, collaborating with the acapella group Home Free for a reimagining of his first hit. Billy Gilman has sold over 5 million albums and became a recognized voice in country music in 2000, at the age of 11, when he released his debut single “One Voice,” on Epic Records (Sony Nashville). The song shot onto the Billboard Top 40 charts making Billy the youngest artist to ever have a top 40 single on the country chart and ultimately reaching top 20 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Check out the original music video HERE. In 2016, Billy auditioned and landed a spot on NBC's The Voice, where he flipped the chairs of all four judges and ultimately chose to be on Adam Levine's team. The decision took him to the finals, where Billy became the runner-up during the finale. Now, in 2020, the subject matter of “One Voice,” is just as important as it was when the song was originally released 20 years ago. “I would never have imagined that America, let alone in the world, we would be seeing so many suicides,” says Billy. “If we could be a little nicer to one another and learn that we are all made differently, but we all deserve kindness, love, and respect it would make the world a better place.”   # # # Suggested post: .@BillyGilman celebrates 20th Anniversary of hit single #OneVoiceBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/success-made-to-last-legends--4302039/support.

Hey Wonderlings, I’m Angela Bowen the host of the Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Ya all got your singing voices ready? Cause we’re gonna be singing a tone with the 8th Grade McKinley Boys Glee Club in S3E16; the Glee Club which aired on February 26, 1990. In this episode The 8th Grade Boys Glee Club can't seem to carry a tune, but a new teacher named Miss Haycock is determined to rectify that. Time For My Flower Power Episode Rating: I’m giving this episode 3 out of 5 Flower Power Petals. 1. For Miss Haycock, not that she may be but she whipped those boys into shape singing wise or at least made an attempt to pour sunshine into their lives through song and teach them to use their diaphragms. 2. Warren for being their shining star and secret weapon with that angelic cherub voice, well at least for a little while. 3. Miss Haycock realizes you can’t mold a 13 year old boy’s voice into the next Josh Groban or Michael Buble. We can’t all sound like Billy Gilman at age 10 when you’re a teenage boy in the thrones of puberty. Once Warren’s voice takes a crap she knows her career as a musical conductor is over. I knocked two flower power petals off. 1. This episode was pretty meh for me all the singing throughout the episode, if this were Glee with Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing”, maybe I could forgive them but eardrum splitting 13 year olds singing Stout Hearted Men, uh… no thank you. 2. The only good thing I liked about this episode is Winnie and Kevin’s close up hand holding shot, and also she was the voice of reason and took Miss Haycock’s side sight unseen. If she had bet the women maybe she would have agreed with Kevin’s sentiment regarding her. My Wonderling Words Of Wisdom: I wouldn’t recommend choir class at all. I hated it and unless you really enjoy singing don’t sign up for it. Short and to the point. Here’s my quote of the episode. Narrator: It was... cruel. Before our very eyes, Warren had transformed from lyric tenor... to... Well... a bullfrog. So the rest of us did the only thing we could. We panicked. But the die was cast. Paul sneezed, which was too much for Doug. Somebody laughed. And I dropped my music. It was kind of a chain reaction. I'd like to say we rallied, but... we didn't. It was no one's fault, really. I guess we'd just been pushed beyond our limits. We we're a bunch of eighth-grade boys. Not an ensemble of stout-hearted men. I want to give a sincere thank to all you listeners out there whether you listen to this podcast on Itunes or Soundcloud or any other listening platforms that you may use to hear this podcast. I love giving you the episode recaps of The Wonder Years every week joining me as I go into full detail as we reminisce of days gone by with Kevin and his friends Paul and Winnie, and the rest of the Arnold family. as well as giving my occasional running commentary and childhood stories. In this episode Newly coupled Kevin and Winnie are pressured into attending a notorious make-out party. While at the party, it seems just like any other 8th grade party ... until the lights get turned off.

Here at HARK, we've committed to reviewing and ranking to EVERY holiday song... even the bad ones, especially the bad ones. But as our list hits its first milestone, we've got a lot more good songs than bad. In this episode, we aim to remedy that. This week, the Hanson brothers and Billy Gilman offer up two obscure Christmas duds, "Everybody Knows the Claus" and "I'm Gonna Email Santa". We attempt to convey the listening experience to you in our most mystifying, exhausting episode yet.

Billy Gilman & Rosie O’Donnell, 2000 — I’m not a violent man, but the first time I heard this song, I was waiting in a long line at Best Buy, and the sound of Billy Gilman’s voice made me want to strangle someone. After the second chorus, I ditched the items I had planned to purchase in the nearest end cap, and somehow left the store without injuring myself or anyone else.
