On today's show, guitarist and songwriter Lorne Behrman explains how he weathered through the pandemic in New York City, has a conversation about marriage and fatherhood, and talks about sobriety, A.I. & Chat GPT, his new album and more. Lorne also performs a couple of songs: BARBARA and YOU DON'T KNOW ME LIKE THAT. GUEST OVERVIEW: Lorne Behrman is a Punk rock n' roll guitarist and singer-songwriter songwriter who has previously played in The Dimestore Haloes, L.E.S. Stitches, The Dead Tricks, and The Sweet Things. Lorne's most recent album - his second as a solo artist - BLUE LOVE (Spaghetty Town Records) is an 11-song collection featuring "a series of New York City vignettes haunted by shadows but guided by light." The stories on BLUE LOVE are literate and lacerating, recalling the street poetics of Lou Reed, Jim Carroll, Jesse Malin, Patti Smith, Hubert Selby Jr., and Tom Waits. The songs feature stark and fluid guitar playing in the spirit of Television, The Stooges' James Williamson, Johnny Thunders, and Robert Quine with Lou Reed. Previously, Lorne issued a critically-acclaimed EP and debut album that have garnered accolades and features in Classic Rock Magazine, Vive Le Rock Magazine, Metronome, Glide Magazine, New Noise, Goldmine, and taste-making punk mag Razorcake. Lorne has played shows with Richard Lloyd (Television), Jeremy & the Harlequins, Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith Group), Jonny Polonsky, Adam Masterson, Lulu Lewis, and Diane Gentile, among many others. https://www.lornebehrmanmusic.com/
BEAUX GRIS GRIS & THE APOCALYPSE Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse (pronounced bo gree-gree ) California-based blues rock americana soul band created by Louisiana-born-and-raised musician Greta Valenti (Well Hung Heart) and UK British Blues Hall of Fame Inductee, Robin Davey (The Hoax, DVL, Well Hung Heart). Joined by the talents of musical heavyweights: Tom Rasulo (Dave Matthews, Gerard Way) Drums/Production in the UK & USA OR Alex Thomas (Anna Calvi, Bat For Lashes, Squarepusher) (UK) on Drums; Emma Jonson (UK) & Sam Robertson (USA) or DANIEL KIRKPATRICK (USA) on Keys, plus Stephen Mildwater (UK) and Chris Cunningham (USA) on Bass in the UK/USA respectively. PLUS VARIOUS OTHER PLAYERS AND GUEST APPEARANCES AT VARIOUS SHOWS. To fully understand Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse is to experience the band live, a mix of soulful songs, intense energy, and world-class award-winning musicianship. RhythmBooze summed up the show finale as “A mind-boggling, blistering finish with everything thrown in including the kitchen sink...truly memorable”. When LouderSounds preaches “Let Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse twist yer melons and remind you of the wonder of life” it might be because the band vibe is easier to pin down than their unique take on the roots genres. Rockshot Magazine elaborates “This extremely entertaining collective is a New Orleans-inspired, American blues-folk-soul band, who refuse to be pigeon-holed”. Beaux Gris Gris and The Apocalypse debut album Love & Murder spurned Top 10 hits in genre charts across Europe. The albums wide-reaching appeal earned it a #13 placement in the “Top 50 Albums of the year” by Classic Rock Magazine, describing it as “A sensual, vibrant cocktail“ Guitarist Robin Davey was the youngest ever inductee into the British Blues Hall of Fame. He spent time as an artist on Atlantic and Interscope Records, and has recorded with a wide spectrum of artists from Mick Jagger to Katy Perry. Multi-award-winning vocalist and songwriter Greta Valenti is Louisiana-born-and-bred creative with generations of her family dating back before the Louisiana purchase. Her rock outfit Well Hung Heart (OCMA's Best Live Band) toured the USA opening for the likes of Fitz & The Tantrums, Twenty One Pilots, Foreigner, and Offspring. Having headlined festivals across Europe, including Upton Festival (UK), The Great British R&B Festival (UK), Moulin (Netherlands) and Blues Alive (Czech Republic), the band were nominated for Band of the Year at the European Blues Awards. "Some folks thought The Wans were dead in the water. I like to think we were in hibernation,” says lead singer Simon Kerr of the Nashville based rock band, The Wans. Described as sounding “like The Stooges having a baby with Stone Temple Pilots” by Classic Rock Magazine, the group are welcoming their highly-anticipated fourth LP Magical Touch, which includes 11 songs that showcase a refreshing new approach that is sure to perk up your ears. Magical Touch will be released on July 26, 2023, which is exactly 11 years to the date of their first release. The Wans' new eleven-song LP, Magical Touch, was co-produced, recorded and mixed by Michael Fahey at Starbird Sound in Nashville using vintage recording equipment and recorded live with minimal overdubs. With two new additions to the band, Akshay Narang and Noah Denney, it was sure to add to the expansion of the sonic qualities. Noah Denney, formerly of Tyler Bryant and The Shakedown and who originally played bass in The Wans, now sits behind the drums. “The new sound is so exciting for me. We've known Akshay for over a decade and bonded over everything from Nine Inch Nails to Depeche Mode so it was only natural to ask him to play some synth and guitar with the band.”, says Kerr. The hard-touring Wans have been on the rise for a while now, playing major festivals like Austin City Limits, Voodoo Fest, Forecastle and Hangout Fest, and sharing bills with Pearl Jam, Beck, and Queens of the Stone Age. They recorded their 2014 album He Said She Said, with Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb (Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Rival Sons), the acclaimed record landed them press at USA Today, NME, Consequence of Sound, The AV Club, and more. Not only that, the band's music has been featured everywhere from major motion picture Point Break and TV shows like Nashville, Longmire, and Necessary Roughness to a powerhouse commercial for BMW'S 4 Series Gran Coupe, which was soundtracked by the band's muscular riff rocker "Black Pony."“This record feels like my novella, a journey similar to Steinbecks ‘East of Eden'. It took 4 years to write and a week to record.” says Kerr. There's no doubt that The Wans wore their influences proudly on their sleeves, like Queens of the Stone Age and Nirvana, but this record feels more precise and like nothing we've heard before from the band. There are certainly hints of 80's and 90's Brit-Pop influences, but the songwriting has become more focused and that's not an overthought.” Kerr continues, “My dad, Tony Kerr, has been my main songwriting partner since I was 16. Some Father-Son's bond over fishing, but we bond over writing songs. It's become effortless when we write together.”Bassist Thomas Bragg states, “Simon and I have been so excited with what's going on in the Irish/British music scene in the last few years. Bands like Idles and Fontaines D.C have made some of the best records of the last decade and I think that definitely had an effect on our music and this record.”The Wans' have always shared a brotherhood and love for making rock n' roll, which is much needed in today's overall climate and music scene. Lyrically, this record purposefully radiates self-awareness, love, and togetherness. “The Wans' are everything to me. When it comes to the song's they're all we have.” says Kerr. The great Joe Strummer once said, “People have got to stop pretending they're not in the world. It's time to take that humanity back into the center of the ring and follow that for a time. Think on that. Without people you're nothing.”Host - Trey MitchellIG - treymitchellphotography IG - feeding_the_senses_unsensoredFB - facebook.com/profile.php?id=100074368084848

On this episode of The Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman is joined by Lacey from Bourbon House! Lacey shares how the band are heavily influenced by 60's and 70's heavy blues with vintage rock and roll. Pipeman and Lacey speak about the moment she realized that performing live music is what she needed to do for the rest of her life. Lacey gives us an insight into the bands newest album and how we can expect to hear some new sounds while still being able to recognize the bands originality. Pipeman and Lacey speak about the song writing formula a lot of bands are using and how the audience don't want to hear the same song over and over so it's so much better for artists to use their creative talents to create music that came from the heart as opposed to always just using the same formulas. Lacey encourages you to check out their newest single, High Road Gypsy, and keep an eye out for all the cool stuff they have coming out very soon! Jack J Hutchinson is a London based blues rock guitarist and songwriter. Described by Classic Rock Magazine as “a real rock contender”, he has toured internationally, sharing stages with acts such as ZZ Top, Bad Company, Kris Barras Band and Blackberry Smoke. Jack recently released his new 4 track ‘What Doesn't Kill You' EP mixed by legendary producer Kevin Shirley (Black Crowes, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin). The EP follows is his critically acclaimed album ‘The Hammer Falls' which was released earlier this year via Earache Records Digital Distribution, with Planet Rock saying “Jack's gritty, honest take on blues rock comes with a flourish of biker steel”. What the press have been saying… “Tough, immediate and rockin'. Hutchinson was born to sing soul and blues.” (Classic Rock Magazine) “Growling vocals combine with raunch ‘n' roll acoustic and electric guitars. Bourbon House was founded by guitarist Jason Clark and vocalist Lacey Crowe in 2017. Upon the release of their self-titled EP, the single "Music in Your Bones" attracted the attention of disk jockeys around the world and received airplay on independent radio in more than a dozen countries and by the summer of 2018 they released their second album, Wild Abandon. The album spawned the fan favorites "Burn Them Bones," "Drown it in Whiskey," and "Jailer." From the fall of 2018 through the following year, the band welcomed Ryan Sargent as their official drummer, played across the American Midwest, and began recording singles which would ultimately comprise their third album. Bourbon House have been featured twice in Classic Rock Magazine, once for "Too High to Care," which was nominated for Track of the Week, and another time for "Devil on my Heels," which earned them a Track of the Week win and a spot on the magazine's covermount CD as well as a shout-out from Eddie Trunk on the program Trunk Nation. The success of "Devil on My Heels" continued as it reached #1 on the independent charts in Australia and #2 in the UK. In early 2020, they played a show in Nashville, TN, to benefit tornado victims, but had to cancel plans to tour the eastern states due to the pandemic. The band used the down time to shoot music videos for "Too High to Care" and "6000 Miles," and finish writing and recording what would be their third album. After landing a slot on the Blind Anxiety Entertainment roster, Bourbon House headlined their first tour of 25 dates through the southern United States in the spring of 2021. Within the following three months, Bourbon House released the single "Dead in the Water" along with an official music video and signed a management deal with Paul Crosby Management. "Dead in the Water" became a new fan favorite and is their first single to reach active rock radio, charting at 50 on BDS Indicator and 22 on the Foundations chart. In October of 2021, the band released their third album, Into the Red, on PACgroove Records with distribution through VON Artists Ltd. and The Orchard (Sony) which features the singles from the past two years and six previously unreleased tracks, including "I Got Trouble" for which they released their latest music video. Plans for 2022 include touring far and wide and another full-length album of original material. Bourbon House | Band (bourbonhouserocks.com)

On March 23rd, 1983 ZZ Top released their eighth studio album "Eliminator". It remains the band’s most commercially successful album thanks to several singles with an undeniable beat and hook along with three videos that are among the most popular in MTV history. While MTV would launch the careers of new artists, it would revive the careers of veteran bands like ZZ Top. And while MTV helped ZZ Top, the trio of guitarist Billy Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard would return the favor. They were exactly what the network was looking for. They had "a look". The long beards, the sunglasses, the tricked out Eliminator 1933 Ford Coupe, the spinning guitars. They weren’t just a rock band…they were as Classic Rock Magazine’s Paul Rees wrote - otherworldly beings. But as cool as those videos were, they wouldn’t have been much without songs that were just as good…and they were. Inspired by the new wave music heard while on a European tour in the early '80s, ZZ Top infused synthesizers and danceable beats into their already recognizable boogie blues sound. The results speak for themselves. Selling over 10 million copies since its release, "Eliminator" is among the first albums to be certified diamond. A full year after its release it was still selling 100 thousand copies a week. In this episode we’ll get to the story of what led to the creation of the '80s ZZ Top sound, hear early demos of the tracks, the stories behind all 11 tracks, the videos, the album cover and more. LITTLE TRIGGERS new and single and release a brand new video for the new track ‘FEED ME' 6 November 2020 Check out the single here https://youtu.be/SPpipaxDCUc About the band LITTLE TRIGGERS are two piece from Liverpool With two Led by singer and guitarist Tom Hamilton and drummer Jay Radcliffe ACCLAIMED BRIT ROCKERS REVEAL NEW VIDEO ‘FEED ME'! LITTLE TRIGGERS have just released their strikingly provocative video, Feed Me - https://youtu.be/SPpipaxDCUc Targeted to depict cooperate consumerism, environmental neglect, and our government's inaction to provide meals for the vulnerable, the video is a powerful and extremely relevant statement. The track lands on all streaming sites and platforms on Friday 6th November. Emerging two-piece LITTLE TRIGGERS channel influences spanning from The Who through to Queens Of The Stone Age. Still in their early twenties, Tom Hamilton (lead vocals & guitars) and Jay Radcliffe (drums & backing vocals) have a maturity that surpasses their youth. To date, they have already toured throughout the UK, Europe and China, and have shared stages with the likes of Iggy Pop and Temples. LITTLE TRIGGERS' debut album, Loaded Gun, landed in 2019 and soon lit up the UK rock scene. Classic Rock Magazine backed the rocksters with a full-page feature, review and a position on the publication's cover CD. Planet Rock playlisted the single, So Fine, for their New Rock Show, and the band picked up widespread support from Total Rock, BBC Introducing, and Louder, where they were awarded with two Track Of the Week slots. The rock ‘n' roll newcomers also graced many Spotify curated prominent playlists, including All New Rock and Rock The World. Towards the end of the year, LITTLE TRIGGERS were once again featured in Classic Rock Magazine, appearing on their Cover CD. The new year started with a bang, and the twosome hit the road in February with a massively successful 12 date UK tour. After revising touring plans due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the duo turned their attention to writing and creating new material. This Spring, LITTLE TRIGGERS dropped Burn to enthusiastic support. Louder/Classic Rock Magazine again included the band as part of their Tracks Of The Week features, and Wyatt Wendels once more added the twosome to his esteemed New Rock Show on Planet Rock. The single also racked up critical acclaim from a slew of radio stations across the world, as well as adorning a glut of Spotify playlists. The band now have another single on the horizon and it's an out and out stunner. Boasting ferocious riffs, a killer hook and inspired by our societies' rampant consumerism, Feed Me is a bold declaration. Tom Hamilton comments: "Feed Me is inspired by the failure of our leaders to protect our planet and its people from the rampant corporate greed that is at the root of issues such as hunger, poverty and racism. I wrote the song after watching TV and social media explode with anger and fear over the Summer. The main image I had was of the planet being eaten up by greed. It is hugely ironic that, as the single is being released, the UK is in the grip of a Government scandal over its refusal to feed our own children.” Tom adds: “That's why we have decided to donate all proceeds from the single to food bank charities in our home city of Liverpool." With further singles, an EP, and tour dates penned for 2021, LITTLE TRIGGERS are primed to break out to the masses. Onto the next band Onto our next Glass Waves new single Do it again out now About the band RISING ALT-ROCKERS REVEAL NEW SINGLE & MORE! Alt Rock newcomers GLASS WAVES have just dropped a firecracker of a single entitled Do It Again Channeling influences from the likes of Don Broco and Queens of The Stone Age, through to Bring Me The Horizon, GLASS WAVES dispatch energetic alternative rock merged with captivating riffs and gloriously anthemic hooks. Based in Liverpool and North Wales, the newly formed fivesome consist of Bryn Williams (Lead Vocals / Synth), Tomos Gashe (Rhythm Guitar), Sion Jones (Lead guitar / Backing Vocals), Dewi Williams (Bass) and Sion Roberts (Drums). The crew originally bonded through their mutual desire to craft passionate music, framed by candid lyrics that examines real life topics that affect the world around us. Although this is a brand-new venture, all members from the band are seasoned musicians and have toured throughout the UK. GLASS WAVES have just released their engrossing new single Do It Again. Recorded and produced by Rich James Roberts at his Ferlas Studio in Wales, the track has already attracted attention and support from BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, a glut of websites, and has garnered strong grass roots radio airplay. The single has also been added to a plethora of Spotify playlists. The band comment about the track: “The story behind the song is about our own experience of mental health. The track is written about the experience of personal lows and breaking the stigma of mental health in men. As a whole, the band aren't afraid of talking about the real issues going on in the world”. With further singles to follow in 2021 and the promise of a raft of UK shows for next year, GLASS WAVES are set to climb. This week we discuss our methods for finding new music & how it affects our Tuesday triple play segments. Two distinctly different routines that result in a nice ebb & flow. At least we think we so. Do you agree? If not, that's cool too!NOTE: This one's honestly a bit glitchy & initially sounds as if I ate the microphone (I was pretty hungry!), but thankfully the audio evens out midway through. Hope you're still able to enjoy! ~ CV

We interview the powerful, dynamic, and independent sister duo: The Soap Girls Check out there music here: Spotify Link https://open.spotify.com/artist/1OLHfdAPzzmWwnOVSX67km Soap Girls Website http://thesoapgirls.band/ Bio Armed with unforgettable melodies and catchy choruses, The SoapGirls energy, rawness and authenticity live, has earned a formidable reputation. Performing internationally and continuously since 2015, these fearless French born sisters Millie and Mie, have slayed critics and earned a global dedicated group of followers known as the ‘The SoapSuds’, some of who follow the band across the UK and Europe. The SoapGirls are society’s rejects and their punk credentials were rubber stamped by scintillating performances at many festivals including the legendary Rebellion Festival and Camden Rocks festival last year and such was the their success that they have inevitably been asked to perform again 2019 whilst on their current tour Sniff My Strap promoting their much anticipated latest album Elephant in the Room. The SoapGirls write outsider anthems that are androgynous, audacious and straight from the heart. Following the release of their album Societys Rejects, the band have appeared in Classic Rock Magazine, The Mirror and Vive Le Rock, while their last two singles were played on BBC Radio and play listed by Planet Rock Radio as well as various other stations. Fighting prejudice and haters with a sword of honesty and a shield of integrity The SoapGirls have endured much but have always risen above those that have sought to derail them. The girls shine during their exhilarating, firework-strewn live performances putting inclusivisity and freedom of expression at the core of each show. They are keen to show that music should be for everyone and everyone should be free to be themselves. Alluring, hypnotic and nonchalant The SoapGirls started their career in Cape Town performing as street artists for eight years and were given their name by the general public. “We have been The SoapGirls since we were 8 and 9 selling handmade soap and street performing for various causes, we did this 365 days of the year, for 9 years”. Podcast RSS We go over Classic Rock Magazine's Top 50 Albums of 2017 so far. And there are some good ones on this list, such as Mastodon, All Them Witches, The Magpie Salute, and more. We also chat about millionaire rock stars who are overly political, and the irony between some of the anti-capitalist rhetoric of some of these folks, and how they are benefiting the most from the system they appear to hate. We also feature a song from our local rock buddies in Contra. They just released their new album "Deny Everything" through Shifty Records. It is available now on iTunes.
New Ep! Bakko & LC have gone into hiding this week after roasting the entire Podcast industry, KISS fans and the Nashville Rock n Pod Expo on Ep 71. People! While Cobras & Fire plans its next attack, you are blessed with another round of Rob Kern's "Loud, Drunk & Angry" rock show on the Uncontrolled Noize network. Strap in for 3 hours of rock. We'd hire a psychiatrist to find out just what makes Rob Kern tick but we're pretty sure we couldn't afford the years of therapy needed for a diagnosis. Raised on Creem, Mad Magazine and stacks of KISS albums, followed by years of binge drinking has created the manchild we know and revere. Besides being a guest and friend of Cobras & Fire, Rob has been a contributing writer for Classic Rock Magazine, penned the hilarious manifesto, 33 Days In The Hole: The Chicago Experiment and directed music videos for the likes of American Dog and Stacie Collins. Rob hates modern country music and believes Sammy Hagar ruined Van Halen. Loud, Drunk & Angry encourages drinking and hopefully spurs the listening audience to break things, not from anger but from the sheer joy of hearing all things rock and roll. uncontrollednoize.com fromoutofnowhere.com 3 hours of rock and talk!

22 year old singer/songwriter Willow Robinson was born in Los Angeles and grew up between the Welsh Borders and London where he is now based. With influences ranging from Mick Jagger to Otis Redding, his guitar driven, soulful, rock n roll meets folk songs are full of raw emotion. After signing to record label Clark & McGee Ltd in 2015 and playing a series of support slots with artists including The Jesus and Mary Chain and Killing Joke he has recently released his second EP called Ocean Blue. This weeks featured track is ‘Your Animal' from Illustr8ors. In Their Own Words: In one breath illustrators is a metamorphosis, and a stubborn stride towards a place where the core components of rock'n'roll exist in a relative and contemporary time. In another breath illustr8ors is just a contemporary rock band giving a f**k about what it means to be alive in music now. Not yesterday, not tomorrow, but right now” In their previous guise, as BlackWolf, illustr8ors scored tours and supports with the likes of The Temperance Movement, Winger, Blues Pills, Von Hertzen Brothers and The Answer to name a few; a nomination for Classic Rock Magazine's ‘Best New Band' roll of honour award, numerous playlist slots on major rock radio stations and a debut headline tour endorsed by Planet Rock Radio. However, it was time for a change. A time for a more decisive stride towards a definitive and individual sonic identity. A rebirth. That's when illustr8ors were born. Featuring four white hot songs, the band's self titled ep is sharp, drenched in groove, ladened with hooks and melody, whilst intelligent and a straight to the point collection of music. No messing about, no gimmicks…this is what rock music sounds like right NOW. .
Eric Clapton, one of the world’s best-known blues and rock guitarists, has been playing his instrument professionally since 1962 and now, at age 71, he is being forced to seriously consider retirement. This has nothing to do with his popularity. In fact, he released a new album of songs entitled “I Still Do” in May 2016, to rave reviews. According to a recent article in the Washington Post, Clapton is experiencing nerve damage which is making it extremely painful to play guitar. He was quoted in the article. “I’ve had quite a lot of pain over the last year,” Clapton told “Classic Rock” Magazine. “It started with lower back pain and turned into what they call peripheral neuropathy, which is where you feel like you have electric shocks going down your leg. And I’ve had to figure out how to deal with some other things from getting old.” As the most recent addition to the Texas Back Institute team of spine experts, Dr. Scott Kutz, specializes in neurosurgery and, in addition to being an Eric Clapton fan, has several insights about this painful condition. “Peripheral neuropathy is a disorder affecting the peripheral nerves of the body, which is a part of the central nervous system,” he said. “This can affect one nerve, in which case it is known as a mono-neuropathy, or it can affect multiple nerves where it is known as a poly-neuropathy. “This condition is fairly common and there are several different types and multiple causes of neuropathy. In the case of a mono-neuropathy, the most common type is carpal tunnel syndrome , where the medial nerve is compressed in the area of the wrist and causes pain, tingling, numbness, swelling and it can affect one’s strength.
