Today we're going to talk about what causes hair loss and different peptide therapy options available to help with hair growth.  It's normal to lose about 50 to 100 hairs per day. But losing more than that may mean you have excess hair shedding, and you'll start to see signs of hair thinning and hair loss. This is when most people might see a thinner ponytail, bald spots, a receding hairline, or a widening hair part.  There are different causes of hair loss. Some people are more prone to hair thinning and hair loss than others based on genetics. Other causes of hair loss include: Health conditions like PCOS, lupus, or hypothyroidism Hormonal changes (e.g., during pregnancy or menopause) Stressful life events like having surgery or being diagnosed with a serious illness Certain medications like statins, ACE inhibitors, cimetidine, colchicine, isotretinoin, testosterone, and progesterone Nutritional deficiencies like low levels of iron, vitamin D, and zinc Infections can also affect your scalp and cause hair loss. This can happen when bacteria or fungi infect hair follicles. But most scalp infections are curable with the right antibiotic or antifungal treatment.  But, most people will notice hair loss and hair thinning as they age. This is because you produce less oil in your scalp as you age, making your hair weak and fragile.  So what is the importance of this? Depending on the cause, hair loss may be curable or reversible, so it's important to let your healthcare provider know when you notice signs of hair loss or hair thinning. Once your provider understands the cause, they can give you treatment options that work best for you. The sooner you start the right treatment, the better your chance of regrowing your hair and having less hair loss.  What peptides may help with hair loss and hair thinning? GHK-Cu or copper peptides prevent further hair loss and thinning in men and women by blocking an enzyme that converts testosterone into DHT. This hormone can cause hair follicles to become weaker and thinner over time. Copper peptide shampoos should be used with a scalp exfoliator with each shower. Most copper peptide hair products are water-based serums or foams. PTD-DMB, short for protein transduction domain-Dvl binding motif. In simple terms, this peptide prevents hair loss and promotes the growth of new hair follicles. It does this by blocking proteins that prevent follicle development and hair regrowth. Tonight I share my thoughts on strategies and tactics that will put your opposition on its heels and probably result in an outright win for homeowners and virtually all consumers who have a written contract for installment payments. We start with the premise that virtually all such transactions are securitized. I will talk about the many opportunities that exist under the rules of procedure to create an existential challenge to the claims. If there is no Claimant or Plaintiff and there is no claim at all, then why must we wait to the end and spend tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees to get to that point? Why must homeowners lose their homes to such false claims simply because they lack the resources to contest them? So in tonight's show, we will visit and revisit some basic strategies that I believe will work most of the time and which could shorten the litigation period substantially. As a follow-up to our FREE presentation CLE webinar on Prelitigation Strategies and Practices, we offer an open mike Q&A on tonight's show. Please think about your questions in advance and refrain from long monologues about your case. Here is the obvious premise of this work: If as a consumer you have executed a promissory note and mortgage (or deed of trust) and you think that there is a loan account receivable somewhere that is owned and maintained by some lender or creditor, you are most likely incorrect. Most homeowners make the mistake of thinking that the QWR and DVL are simply “form letters.” If that were the case, we would provide you with the template and you could send it out yourself. And back in the old days (pre-1995) that would be entirely appropriate for settling any disputes regarding the proper allocation of payments or any other issues. The statutory foundation for the creation of the QWR and the DVL was designed to resolve potential disputes between the debtor and the creditor. Today, the situation is different. We already know that there is no valid claim against the homeowner and that there is no valid claimant. We also already know that any company that is claimed to be a “servicer” neither has any legal authority to act as such (from anyone) nor does it perform any functions that are normally attributed to a company claiming to be a servicer. So while the legislative intent for providing consumer remedies in RESPA and the FDCPA was designed to resolve disputes, the procedures contained within those statutes are now used by homeowners to start a dispute — because, without a history of disputing the claims made to administer, collect or enforce any alleged obligation due from the homeowner, it is much harder to mount an effective defense.

Michael Lehrer talks about the Water + Life Museums in Hemet, the first LEED Platinum museums in the world. He describes the ideology behind the buildings, which is evident both in their museum content and their architectural design. The Water and Life Museums are born of the construction of Diamond Valley Lake (DVL), the largest man-made water storage lake in North America. Set in the semi-arid Southern California desert near Hemet, DVL is an integral part of the state's water infrastructure.  The lake provides a 6-month emergency supply of water for all of Southern California.  Diamond  Valley existed between 2 mountain ranges.  Diamond Valley Lake was created by damming the Valley's open ends with two 300' high dams.  The East Dam is 2.5 miles long.  The Dam, is made from rock mined from these mountains.  The Museums sit near the base of the East Dam of DVL.  The construction of these dams is the largest earthwork project in American history.

In this summer series of podcasts, we introduce the winners of our Teledyne Marine Academic Grant for 2020. This grant offers universities and institutions the opportunity to utilize several of our flagship products free of charge for up to a six-month period to support their research programs. In this episode, we meet Samer Ahmed Mohamed, a teaching assistant at Ain Shams University in Cairo and head of the Autonomous Underwater Vehicle project. Using their awarded Pathfinder DVL from Teledyne RD Instruments, Samer and his team will fuse the DVL technology with other stereo vision systems and the dynamic model of the vehicle itself to create a computationally efficient model for AUV navigation. He and his team will participate virtually this year in RoboSub 2020.

In the video, a team of players crafts an intricate plan, but one shouts "LEEROY JENKINS!" before charging into battle, unprepared, getting the entire party killed as they attempt to save him. The video went viral, and became one of the biggest memes in the history of World of Warcraft, and the internet in general. Since then, Leeroy Jenkins has been referenced on Jeopardy!, The Daily Show, and even on Family Guy. For many World of Warcraft fans, it holds a special place in their hearts. For years, World of Warcraft fans debated whether or not the video showed a real planning session that went awry, or a staged event. The video's creators, Ben Schultz and Ben "Anfrony" Vinson, intentionally answered ambiguously about it for years. In 2017, Vinson released a video showing an initial, failed attempt, proving that the Leeroy Jenkins video actually was staged. While the video itself was staged, no one involved could have predicted what a major impact it would have on World of Warcraft. Fandom can often have a strange impact on popular culture, and that has never been truer than it is in the internet era. The Leeroy Jenkins video is not the only time that a company has leaned into an internet meme, but it's certainly one of the earliest examples. According to geophysicist Amy Vaughan, the 12 May quake is likely a sign that more aftershocks are on the way. "Generally, in the days and weeks and months [seismic activity] tapers off", she said. It propagated through EternalBlue, an exploit developed by the United States National Security Agency (NSA) for older Windows systems. While Microsoft had released patches previously to close the exploit, much of WannaCry's spread was from organizations that had not applied these, or were using older Windows systems that were past their end-of-life. The attack was halted within a few days of its discovery due to emergency patches released by Microsoft and the discovery of a kill switch that prevented infected computers from spreading WannaCry further. The attack was estimated to have affected more than 200,000 computers across 150 countries, with total damages ranging from hundreds of millions to billions of dollars. Security experts believed from preliminary evaluation of the worm that the attack originated from North Korea or agencies working for the country. The ransomware campaign was unprecedented in scale according to Europol, which estimates that around 200,000 computers were infected across 150 countries. According to Kaspersky Lab, the four most affected countries were Russia,Ukraine,India and Taiwan. One of the largest agencies struck by the attack was the National Health Service hospitals in England and Scotland, and up to 70,000 devices – including computers, MRI scanners, blood-storage refrigerators and theatre equipment – may have been affected. On 12 May, some NHS services had to turn away non-critical emergencies, and some ambulances were diverted. Remember in the movie "The Firm" with Tom Cruise when he said "it's not sexy but it has teeth"? That is administrative law. The character Cruise played was talking about mail fraud. It worked. Playing your administrative cards right you could end up with a mail fraud case to be brought against the servicers and pretender lenders, but you will almost certainly end up with more and better defined defenses than you otherwise would have. In 42 years of practicing trial law, I practiced in admin law for many years. And believe me it has teeth. Ask any lawyer or doctor who has a complaint to which they must respond. Government agencies are scary. That is why consumers should use some of the easier processes available. You get to smoke out the servicers and pretenders "on the cheap."  In administrative procedures and proceedings, people save or lose business and professional licenses, get fined, pay restitution and all sorts of things. And administrative decisions are required to be given deference in courts of law. It's far less expensive than litigation and could greatly reduce the cost of litigation so why wouldn't you use the administrative strategy first?

But more and more lawyers are asking the right questions --- what are the elements to consider when evaluating the settlement value of a foreclosure case? Emphasis on the case at hand distracts from the value of the threat to the other side.  Bottom LIne: If you don't have the tenacity, stomach and resources to litigate all the way you might just as well settle on any terms you can get. You can improve your odds by sending a QWR, DVL, complaint to CFPB or Complaint to State AG. You can also improve your odds by aggressively pursuing discovery in litigation and getting an order requiring your opposition to produce answers or documents that they don't have.

Kim-1 (kidney injury molecule-1), a member of the TIM (T-cell immunglobulin mucin) family is a glykosylated type 1 transmembrane protein, which is markley upregulated during the repair of renal epithel cells after ischemia and in malignant and cystic kidney disease, while expressed at low levels in normal kidneys. In previous experiments Kim-1 has been shown to localize in primary cilia of cultured renal epithelial cells in-vitro. Primary cilia have been shown to play a role in development and recently cilial dysfunction has been shown to be the unifying defect causing polycystic kidney disease. Kim-1 interacts with Inversin, a ciliary protein, which is mutated in Type 2 nephronophthisis, and which has been shown to modulate the Wnt pathway by targeting Dishevelled (Dvl) for proteasomal degradation. The expression of Wnt proteins is necessary for many fundamental processes in differentiation, proliferation, polarity and adhesion. Wnts play an important role in the early embryonic development. There is only limited knowledge on the physiological role of Kim-1 during differentiation, proliferation and survival of tubular epithel cells after renal injury. The aim of this study was to characterize the role of Kim-1 in epithelial polarization and ciliogenesis of tubular epithel cells outside of pathological injury models. Additionally the role of Kim-1 in the Wnt signaling pathway was examined. Renal tubular cells were analyzed phenotypically with immunfluorescence staining. Protein expression levels were detected by SDS PAGE and Western blot. Signaltransduction activity was measured in luciferase reporter assays. Protein overexpression was achieved with transient transfection of plasmid DNA in cultured cells after calcium chloride precipitation. Gene reduction was achieved through lentivirus-mediated transduction of short interfering RNAs. Examination of immunfluorescence stained cryosections showed, that Kim-1 is localized in-vivo in primary cilia of tubular epithelial cells in mouse kidneys. Kim-1 expression levels correlate with the polarization of tubular epithel cells in-vitro. Reporter assays using TOP FLASH luciferase constructs revealed that Kim-1 reduced the Dvl-induced TOP FLASH activation and decreased steady-state levels of ß-Catenin in HEK 293t cells, suggesting that Kim-1 antagonizes the canonical Wnt pathway. Conversely Kim-1 expression increased AP-1 activity, which has been linked to the non-canonical Wnt pathway. Phenotypical characterization of two different immortalized renal epithelial cell lines after Kim-1 knock-down showed no changes in epithelial polarization, or ciliogenesis. These results suggest that Kim-1 is a ciliary protein that probably plays no active role in cell polarization or ciliogenesis, but may participate in the Wnt signaling pathway. Kim-1 may act as a molecular switch between the canonical and non-canonical Wnt pathway and thus may play a role in epithelial differentiation.
