After some weeks on the periphery of British politics, Nigel Farage and Reform UK are back in the spotlight with the debut of 'Operation Fortess' – their plan to deploy the Navy to stop the small boat crossings in the channel. Is it just a headline-grabbing gimmick or will it actually work – and is it even a new idea? To answer the important questions, James Heale is joined by Christian Calgie, Senior Political Correspondent-at-Large at the Daily Mail, to talk over the plans set out this morning.Produced by Natasha Feroze and Henry LloydBecome a Spectator subscriber today to access this podcast without adverts. Dolly Parton - Audio Biography

Dolly Parton Biography Flash a weekly Biography. In the past few days, Dolly Partons story has been dominated by a deeply personal loss that will resonate in any future biography. Multiple outlets including Page Six, Fox 17 Nashville, Yahoo Entertainment, and the Daily Mail report that her older brother Coy “Denver” Parton died at age 82 in Sevierville, Tennessee, on July 23, with an obituary from Atchley Funeral Home confirming the details and noting that no cause of death has been made public. This follows the March 2025 death of her husband Carl Dean, also 82, and earlier losses of brothers David and Randy, marking an extraordinarily painful chapter of compounded grief in her later years. Reports note the family plans a private memorial, underscoring how Dolly continues to guard some aspects of her mourning from public view. From a long term biographical lens, this cluster of family deaths, combined with her own health struggles, is likely to frame the narrative of Dolly's eighties as an era of resilience under pressure. Page Six and The List recap that over the past year she has battled kidney stone complications and other issues serious enough to cancel her Las Vegas residency and even miss her 80th birthday celebration at the Grand Ole Opry, despite publicly insisting she is “responding really well to meds and treatments” and “improving every day.” More speculative outlets like RadarOnline and NewsBreak claim she feels isolated at her Tennessee ranch and is “trapped” by health woes; these stories rely on unnamed “insiders” and should be treated as unconfirmed gossip rather than verified fact. On the business and public appearance front, Dolly is still very much in motion. Local Knoxville coverage and Dollywoods own advisories report that she is scheduled to appear at Dollywood on August 14 for the dedication of NightFlight Expedition, the parks most expensive ride to date, a first of its kind attraction that fits neatly into her broader legacy as a theme park and tourism mogul. In June, major outlets including The Washington Post and Fox 17 highlighted her surprise, physically fragile but smiling appearance at the grand opening of Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop in Cornersville, Tennessee, a new chain style travel stop that expands her brand from music and books into roadside hospitality. Creatively, The List and Broadway.com note she is producing “Dolly: A True Original Musical” for Broadway, slated to open later this year, a biographical stage work that will literally codify her life story in another medium and is likely to be a major long term pillar of how future generations encounter Dolly Parton. Social media from her business ventures continues to share upbeat posts tied to the truck stop and the musical, though her personal accounts have remained notably quiet on Coy's death, suggesting she is grieving off line even as the brand machine rolls on. That's the latest chapter in the life of Dolly Parton. Dolly Parton - Audio Biography

Dolly Parton Biography Flash a weekly Biography. Dolly Parton may be largely out of sight right now, but she is anything but out of the news, and the past few days have quietly added some significant chapters to her ongoing story. On the business front, Dolly's name is moving a lot of money even as she personally stays close to home. The Knoxville News Sentinel reports that Dollywood's resorts and the Splash Country water park have now gone fully cashless, part of a broader shift by Dolly Parton's company toward electronic payments across much of the Dollywood Parks and Resorts empire. According to the company's own information cited by the paper, guests at DreamMore Resort, HeartSong Lodge, and Splash Country must now use cards or mobile wallets, with cash-to-card kiosks provided for holdouts. While it might sound like a mundane operations tweak, for Dolly's biography this is another marker of her evolution from country singer to modern theme-park mogul, presiding over a sophisticated, tech-forward hospitality brand that will outlive any touring schedule she ever had. Philanthropy, always central to the Dolly story, also saw a fresh ripple. Blue Ridge Public Radio in North Carolina reports that Dolly Parton's Imagination Library has just reopened enrollment in numerous counties that had been forced to pause sign-ups due to funding limits. New state budget support means more children can again receive a free book every month from birth to age five. This is not flashy headline stuff, but in biographical terms it is enormous: it reinforces that, even in a period of reduced public appearances, Dolly's most lasting legacy may be the hundreds of millions of books, and the culture of reading, associated with her name. Meanwhile, the tabloid and celebrity press continue to circle around her health and reclusive lifestyle. RadarOnline and multiple celebrity outlets in the past week have amplified reports that the 80-year-old icon has been battling kidney stones and other ailments, allegedly leading to canceled engagements, including a rumored Las Vegas residency, and a near-total retreat to her 63-acre Willow Lake Plantation estate outside Nashville. Those details, often sourced to unnamed insiders, should be viewed as speculation rather than confirmed medical fact, but they fit with a broader, longer-running narrative from outlets like Daily Mail and entertainment blogs describing Dolly's Brentwood compound as both her sanctuary in grief after the 2025 death of her husband Carl Dean and now a kind of enforced refuge while she recovers and reassesses her public workload. No major, fully verified new statement from Dolly herself or her official team has surfaced in the last 24 hours, and there have been no confirmed new public appearances or performances announced. Concert listing services still show no traditional tour dates, only longer-range branded events like her Threads: My Songs in Symphony presentations later this year, underscoring that Dolly remains in a legacy, not a grind-it-out, phase of her career. In short, the last few days have been about infrastructure and impact more than image: a cashless pivot at her resorts, a renewed wave of children's books from the Imagination Library, and a swirl of largely unconfirmed health chatter around an aging but still fiercely influential legend. JoJo Siwa - Audio Biography
Biography Flash: JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes Spark Marriage Talk After LA Kiss

JoJo Siwa - Audio Biography

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 25, 2026 2:36

JoJo Siwa Biography Flash a weekly Biography. JoJo Siwa has had a busy stretch, but the most durable recent storyline is still her relationship with Chris Hughes, which has moved from reality TV chemistry into a very public romance. According to the Daily Mail, the pair were seen kissing on stage in Los Angeles this week, with JoJo leaping into Chris Hughes lap as the crowd watched, and the report says he has recently hinted that marriage is on the table. According to Mirror and Manchester Evening News, Hughes has openly said he has thought about proposing, though he has not named a timing or location, which keeps that development firmly in the *possible future* category rather than a confirmed engagement. In more immediate publicity, Promiflash reported that JoJo spoke about deliberately avoiding online hate in her relationship, saying she and Hughes do not talk about internet criticism and instead keep things light and positive at home. That detail matters biographically because it shows how she is managing the pressure that comes with being a young celebrity in a highly visible, cross Atlantic relationship. The same coverage suggests Hughes has been publicly defending her from trolls, reinforcing that their partnership is not just romantic but also a shared media defense strategy. The biggest verified recent headline is not a new career launch or business deal, but the continued evolution of her personal brand into adult celebrity territory. That shift is long term significant because it marks a transition from child star and teen pop figure to a reality TV and relationship driven public personality. The LA appearance also keeps her in the live events conversation, which matters because JoJo has always used performances and public appearances as part of her identity. There are also unconfirmed and lower reliability items circulating online, including recycled rumors and sensational tabloid chatter, but I would treat those cautiously. None of the provided sources support any major new business venture, album announcement, or formal engagement news in the past few days. If you are building a podcast update, the cleanest verified takeaway is this: JoJo Siwa is still dominating attention through her relationship with Chris Hughes, a public kiss in Los Angeles, and fresh speculation about marriage, while also signaling that she is trying to shut out online noise and keep the romance steady under the spotlight. Thank you for listening and subscribe to never miss an update on JoJo Siwa and search the term Biography Flash for more great Biographies. Thanks for listening. When society says "it's just a pet," Beth Bigler says "your grief is valid and profound."As a double-certified Pet Loss Grief Counselor and founder of Honoring Our Animals, Beth is a pioneering voice in pet loss support, offering personalized care to individuals and families before, during, and after their beloved's transition. After the sudden death of her soulmate cat Arnie, she transformed her loss into a mission they began together: guiding guardians to honor their grief, connect with their beloveds, and integrate loss into their lives.Beth is the author of Honoring Our Animals: 365 Meditations for Healing After Pet Loss (Quarto/Wellfleet Press, 2025), the first daily grief companion created specifically for pet guardians, available worldwide and a go-to resource for therapists, veterinary clinics, and animal care organizations. Her second book is forthcoming from HarperCollins in 2027. She has been featured in Forbes, Psychology Today, The Sunday Times, USA Today, Business Insider, Daily Mail, and numerous television and radio outlets including KFI AM 640. Beth also built a 20-year career breaking ground as a writer, producer, and educator across stage, film, and television. Find her on Instagram @honoringouranimals.In this episode, we discuss the complexity of pet loss and grief that can follow. We discuss the societal judgment around grieving animals, why grief does not need to be justified or compared, and why loss of a pet can feel more painful than other losses for some.We hold space for the valid, complex emotions that can come with pet loss and remind listeners that there is no "one right way" to grieve. We touch on the beauty of bonding more deeply with certain animals and discuss the guilt that can arise when bringing a new pet after a loss. In addition, we discuss being able to hold space for both grief and love at the same time.We hope this episode can provide support, validation, compassion, understanding, and hope for those who need it.FOLLOW BETH:INSTA: @honoringouranimalsWEBSITE: www.honoringouranimals.comBOOK: Honoring Our Animals: 365 Meditations for Healing after Pet Loss STAY CONNECTED:INSTA: @trustandthriveTIKOK: @trustandthriveTHREADS: @trustandthriveFACEBOOK: bit.ly/FBtaramontEMAIL: trustandthrive@gmail.com

The Matts dig into the reaction to Andy Burnham's first few days in government. Obviously the usual suspects - such as the Daily Mail and GB News - have already declared it a failure. But one column by Janan Ganesh in the Financial Times stands out as an utterly miserable misreading of the reality of where British politics is. Is the biggest problem Burnham faces a hostile right wing media, or is it liberals who don't fully grasp the consequences of him failing? And what is required to avoid that?

Who Controls What You're Allowed to Believe? Ashley Rindsberg on Wikipedia, Google, AI Bias & the Hidden Information War Investigative journalist Ashley Rindsberg uncovers documented left-leaning bias baked into Wikipedia, a secretive list deciding which outlets count as "reliable," and a money trail touching the world's most powerful political networks and elite global foundations and NGO's. Inside this episode (don't miss): How Wikipedia and Google quietly decide what you're "allowed" to see first on almost any topic — and how one anonymous editor allegedly wrote the rulebook for which sources get trusted and which get blacklisted. How Trump gets labeled an "authoritarian" while actual authoritarian regimes get soft-pedaled — and how Clinton-linked networks and Soros-funded activism allegedly help supercharge that double standard. The Wikimedia Foundation's 2016 pivot into a DEI-branded "social justice" project, and its ties to major political operatives, Clinton-adjacent infrastructure, and activist funding pipelines. The billion-dollar cottage industry of paid editors and "reputation managers" who can lock, rewrite, and curate reality — while public figures can't even correct basic facts about themselves. How entries sourced from Iranian state outlets and Chinese state media make it onto Wikipedia as "reliable" — while outlets like the Daily Mail get blacklisted entirely. How platforms like Al Jazeera, rated a reliable source on Wikipedia despite Qatari state ownership, are feeding directly into the AI tools you use every day — shaping what those tools present to you as neutral fact. Why ordinary people — including Jillian herself — say they can't get false information about them corrected, and what the law actually allows. This isn't just about an encyclopedia. It's about who shapes what an entire generation is told is true, while almost no one is watching it happen.

It's Friday, July 10th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Finnish MP, convicted for quoting Bible, denied transit through London airport Finnish Member of Parliament Päivi Räsänen, who was recently convicted by Finland's Supreme Court for quoting the Bible, has been told that she cannot go through London's Heathrow Airport due to her alleged “hate crime” conviction, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Writer Rod Dreher broke the news on his Substack on Wednesday. The incident has not yet been detailed by any other outlets, but Dreher's report was reposted on X by the senior counsel of Alliance Defending Freedom, which has defended Räsänen in court over the years. War Secretary Pete Hegseth publicly prayed to King Jesus on July 4th On Independence Day, War Secretary Pete Hegseth delivered this extraordinary prayer at the White House. Listen. HEGSETH: “King Jesus, we come humbly before Your throne, praising You for all the providence You've bestowed upon this nation. For over 250 years, from George Washington to President Trump, we have dedicated this nation to one nation under God, and certainly, in God we trust. “And as we think 250 years ago to George Washington on bended knee in Valley Forge, appealing to Heaven on behalf of his troops in this young nation. We've appealed to You from the beginning, and may we continue to appeal to You. And tonight, we pray for our President, President Trump. Give him safety, give him wisdom. “Lord, we pray for our Vice President, our First Lady, our Second Lady, the cabinet members here, all the governors assembled here as well, our civil magistrates, Lord God. I ask that You give them the wisdom to see what is right and the courage to do it; wisdom defined as fear of the Lord, ear of the Lord being the source of all knowledge and wisdom, Lord God, Your eternal truths may they rule. “So, this evening, also, I would be remiss if I did not pray for our great troops, our men and women all around the globe, defending our great nation, as they have for 250 years. Lord God, watch over them and protect them. “It is in Your holy name, the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, that we pray, and we bless this food, too. Amen.” I bet you didn't hear that prayer on any secular news outlet. In Psalm 35:18, King David offers this prayer to God: “I will give You thanks in the great assembly; among the throngs I will praise You.” Students for Life gives Congress an ‘F' after Planned Parenthood's funding resumes Pro-lifers across America are reeling over the Republican-controlled Congress's failure to keep Planned Parenthood defunded. Now, Students for Life has taken the dramatic step of notifying every member of Congress that they have received a failing pro-life grade as a result, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Last July, President Donald Trump signed into law his “One Big Beautiful Bill”, a wide-ranging policy package that included a one-year ban on federal tax dollars going through Medicaid to entities that commit abortions for reasons other than rape, incest, or supposed threats to the mother's life.  While it denied millions to Planned Parenthood, pro-lifers warned from the start that it was only a temporary solution and urged Congress to enact a more permanent measure ahead of the provision's July 4, 2026 expiration date. Maine's Democratic Senatorial candidate suspends campaign Democratic Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner ended his campaign on July 8th after facing a detailed allegation of sexual assault, an astounding and rapid fall for the leftist oysterman whose dramatic rise and grassroots support helped him overcome establishment opposition to secure his party's nomination, reports Politico.com. But a persistent accumulation of controversies weighed on Platner's campaign for months. Monday marked a turning point: Democratic leadership, many of Platner's staunchest leftist backers, and key groups who had been helping fund his bid withdrew their support and pressured Platner to drop out after POLITICO reported a new allegation of sexual assault. Since his withdrawal from the race, several Democrats have expressed interest in running against Republican incumbent Senator Susan Collins. Appearing on Fox News, Democratic Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania did not pull any punches and spoke directly to Graham Platner on national television. FETTERMAN: “A woman credibly accused you of raping her. He will be remembered as an accused rapist. He's always been a dead man walking.” FOX NEWS HOST: “He choked up a couple of times during that announcement. Do you think he thinks he's the victim here?” FETTERMAN: “Oh, yeah, definitely. Bro, you will only be remembered as the accused rapist that got pushed out of your election. That's your legacy, bro. You are a guy that cheats on your wife. You're the guy that roughs up your ex-girlfriends. That's your legacy, bro.” Trial of Charlie Kirk's alleged shooter reveals testimony from trans roommate In the trial involving Charlie Kirk's September 10, 2025 assassination, suspected shooter, Tyler Robinson, faces several charges including aggravated murder, a capital offense, reports the New York Post. On July 9th, Robinson's preliminary hearing entered Day 4 in Provo, Utah, as prosecutors played redacted video testimony from his ex-lover, Lance Twiggs, a man who pretends to be a woman named Luna. Twiggs was Robinson's former roommate and romantic partner, who was granted "use immunity" for his statements to investigators. Twiggs revealed Robinson's alleged tearful confession after returning home from killing Charlie Kirk — hours before turning himself in. In never-before-seen footage, Twiggs told prosecutors on July 9th that Robinson was walking around their apartment before breaking down and declaring he “wishes he hadn't done it.” The video showed prosecutor Ryan McBride interviewing Robinson's partner, who described Robinson's alleged regret when they spoke in person on September 11 — one day after Kirk was killed. McBRIDE: “Did he talk about what he had done?” TWIGGS: “Didn't go into detail. I just asked him, in person, if what he said was true the night before, and he said it was. He started crying a little bit, and said he wishes he hadn't done it.” Proverbs 12:17 says, “An honest witness tells the truth, but a false witness tells lies.” As related texts were read aloud, Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk, was heard crying in court, according to the Daily Mail. The video and accompanying texts — shown for the first time in court during a preliminary hearing — offered the strongest picture yet of how the accused lone gunman allegedly confessed to the assassination. 31-year-old Charlie Kirk was fatally shot in the neck during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University. Today's Headlines: Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear had to write his own senator a letter asking if he's alive, after Trump blew up the cover story that multiple Republican senators had "just spoken to McConnell" by telling reporters on Air Force One that he has "no idea" what condition Mitch is in. The clock is ticking to August 4th, when Kentucky's Democratic governor loses the ability to appoint a replacement, and the suspicion is that McConnell's office is very deliberately running it down. Graham Platner dropped out of the Maine Senate race Wednesday night with an 11-minute video blaming corporate media, the Democratic Party, and "large forces" — notably not himself — and Maine Democrats are now holding a 600-person convention to find a replacement for a must-win seat. At NATO, Trump declared the Iran ceasefire over, threatened to cut off all trade with Spain, begged for Greenland, called Zelensky "President Putin," reminded everyone he's number one on TikTok, and then wrapped up by affirming the US's "ironclad commitment" to Article 5 — so the summit ended better than it started, barely. He also had to fly home on the old Air Force One instead of his Qatari hand-me-down, and when asked if it was due to an assassination threat, didn't deny it but said he's "number one on Iran's kill list," just like TikTok. In a rare moment of actual consequences, Trump was ordered to pay E. Jean Carroll her $5.8 million damages award after his appeals ran out, leaving him with a remaining balance of a mere $83 million. And Prince Harry lost his privacy lawsuit against the Daily Mail along with Elton John, Elizabeth Hurley, and others, with the group potentially owing $50 million pounds in attorneys fees. We were all so hopeful that finally Prince Harry, Meghan and grandchildren Archie and Lilibet might have a royal reunion with King Charles and family at Buckingham Palace this week. Harry’s camp made the announcement that an invitation had been extended, but shortly afterward, the Palace announced that the Duke of Sussex didn’t respond in time to make the necessary staffing accommodations. Harry’s spokesperson suggested it may be the court decision regarding Harry’s lawsuit against the Daily Mail’s publisher that may be the real reason behind the Palace’s about face, not wanting King Charles in an uncomfortable position. Harry arrived solo in London on Monday, and right now, it’s unclear whether Meghan and the kids will join him later in the week outside of London, given security concerns and the government’s unwillingness to provide taxpayer funded security to the Sussexes.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
