Six Al Jazeera journalists have been killed in targeted strikes by Israel recently and much of the world is up in arms. On Thursday, television host Piers Morgan invited two journalists to discuss the issues and their very different takes. Jotam Confino is based in Israel and writes extensively for international media, primarily in Europe and the U.K. His commentary on this issue on social media and elsewhere has attracted significant attention and among those who took note is Piers Morgan. He invited Confino onto Uncensored last Thursday. Morgan hosts what is probably the most watched English language program dealing with current events. Confino is furious that these six journalists who worked for Al-Jazeera are being lionized as truth warriors, when they are nothing more than craven propaganda shills, in his view. Presenting a very different perspective is Jamal Elshayyal, a long-time Al-Jazeera newsman. Based on his defense of Al Jazeera editorial conduct as well as the work of his colleagues, Confino questions why he even considers himself a journalist. And Confino came to this standoff prepared. Texas surgeon Dr. Elisabeth Potter says UnitedHealthcare stopped her mid-surgery to question if the patient's procedure was necessary – despite the fact the patient was already on the operating table. Dr. Potter was even threatened with legal action after sharing her astonishing story on social media. The health insurance giant denies that it would ever ask a doctor to interrupt care. But this incident follows an alarming pattern with UnitedHealthcare. According to Daily Mail, “UnitedHealthcare has also been accused of using an AI program with a 90 percent error rate to deny claims.” “Without insurance,” the Mail says the surgery being performed by Dr. Potter “costs anywhere from $30,000 to $50,000.” The Mail also reports a spokesperson from UnitedHealthcare claimed “There are no insurance related circumstances that would require a physician to step out of surgery… We did not ask nor would ever expect a physician to interrupt patient care to answer a call.” Dr. Elisabeth Potter details UnitedHealthcare's legal threats against her for speaking out. In 1980, The Roswell Incident by Charles Berlitz and William Moore was published that told the sensationalized story of a forgotten 1947 report by the U.S. Army Air Forces that they recovered a “flying disk” on a ranch in New Mexico, north of Roswell Army Air Field. This was also the year of the Rendlesham Forest Incident, which is sometimes referred to as “Britain's Roswell” (December 26-28), and the Cash-Landrum Incident (December 29). The Cash-Landrum Incident is significant because the witnesses, Betty Cash, Vickie Landrum, and her grandson, Colby Landrum, showed symptoms of what seemed like radiation poisoning after they reportedly saw a large craft, seemingly in distress, being escorted by as many as 23 Chinook helicopters. While all of the above cases continue to be discussed and continue to fascinate, a case that got a lot of attention that same year has been largely forgotten. Kamala Harris won 42% of the Texas statewide vote in 2024. 5:30pm- From the White House on Tuesday, President Donald Trump—alongside Apple CEO Tim Cook, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick—announced that Apple will invest an additional $100 billion in domestic manufacturing, assuring that more of the company's supply chain will be based in the United States. One week ago at the closing session of the Turning Point USA Conference in Tampa, Charlie Kirk moderated a debate between two conservative Americans with starkly different perspectives on the value of Israel as an ally of the U.S.A. Writer and commentator, Josh Hammer, spoke for the proposition that America and Israel are countries aligned in values and ideology. Dave Smith - a recently famous comedian and libertarian who has become a darling of the talk show circuit (Joe Rogan and Piers Morgan in particular) - represents the conservative isolationist camp. An “as a Jew” Jew, Dave opines on matters about which he has thin knowledge. His bottom line: Israel has nefariously influenced and taken control of American foreign policy. Royals: Minutes 5:15 to 22:30 Last weekend French President Macron made a state visit to the UK. Will and Kate were only there to welcome the Macrons. They were sidelined during most of the visit, and then went to the state banquet with a last minute confirmation. Their fashion choices at dinner seemed pointed. William did not wear the Windsor men's uniform including red cloth on the collar and we learned that was deliberate because he's going to do things differently when he's king! Kate did not wear white like all of the other women and instead wore a red Givenchy gown. We then heard that Kate was sending a message to Meghan considering that Givenchy designed Meghan's wedding gown. William and Kate did not pose for photos at the dinner with the Macrons, as is typical at state dinners. Kate's assistant/stylist Natasha Archer stepped down last week after 15 years. When Archer left she made her Instagram public, either deliberately or through incompetence. She was initially following over 1,700 accounts including so many of Meghan's close friends and collaborators. These are people she would have no other reason to follow other than to stalk Meghan. Archer did a mass unfollow after that and now she's only following around 300 people. It took days for the British press to pick up that story but it's now in the Daily Mail. Kate has copied Meghan's outfits, heels and sneakers openly for years. We wonder if leaving her Instagram public is a deliberate move by Archer. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about this. Representatives for The Sussexes and King Charles had a “peace summit” meeting in London last week at a private club. This was between the Sussexes' representative in the UK, Liam Maguire, their new communications director, Meredith Maines, and Charles' communications director, Tobyn Andreae. Andreae was hired by Charles in 2022 and he's a former editor of The Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday. The Mail on Sunday got an exclusive story about the summit, which was clearly from Andreae. Sources told The Telegraph that Harry's side definitely didn't leak the news of the peace summit. Chandra doesn't think Harry was surprised by the leak though. No one from William's side was invited, but they kept leaking stories about how enraged William is at the Sussexes. William took it personally that Harry and Charles's representatives met. Meanwhile there were all these stories about how William will never forgive Harry, but Harry and Meghan need to apologize and come back to do royal work. Will and Kate's Wimbledon outing was reportedly ruined after news of the peace summit broke. We talk about how childish Prince William is and how he's like Trump. I say Kate is the British Melania, but Chandra thinks she's like Ivanka. There was a story last month in The Telegraph about how Charles wants Harry and his family at his funeral. The Daily Beast reported that Charles' rep Tobyn Andreae tried to shut that story down before it was published and warned the royal rota not to pick it up. We talk about how angry and ineffective William always is.
