The Seattle Seahawks had another dominant defensive performance this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. We're celebrating a 31-17 win and some of the standout defensive performances. We discuss the emergence of Josh Jobe, Byron Murphy's impact, and how Mike Macdonald's coaching is shaping a resilient, and seemingly plug-and-play, defense. The impressive road win streak continues, but can they find a way to bring that success into Lumen? On offense, we highlight JSN's big play, the impact of Cooper Kupp, Ken Walker's explosive day, and the adjustments made by Klint Kubiak to get the play-action game rolling. Stick around for “Do Better” and “Better at Life” as we call out NFL conspiracies, production team blunders, and pay tribute to podcasting pioneer Todd Cochrane. //The Wire//2300Z September 17, 2025////ROUTINE////BLUF: MEDEVAC HELICOPTER SHOT IN ALABAMA. VANDALISM CONTINUES AT MEMORIALS AROUND USA. VEHICLE RAMMING ATTACK REPORTED AT FBI OFFICE IN PITTSBURGH.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------HomeFront-USA: Around the nation, various vandalism incidents continue at Charlie Kirk memorials. In North Carolina, a memorial was defaced at the UNC Wilmington campus, with the university making statements that passively endorsed the behavior and that no action will be taken. In Florida, the memorials painted at the "Graffiti Bridge" in Pensacola have also been heavily defaced over the past 24 hours, and another memorial was defaced in Arkansas as well.Pennsylvania: This afternoon multiple casualties were reported after police responded to a domestic disturbance call. 5x officers were wounded after a skirmish broke out at a rural property south of Spring Grove, with 3x officers remaining in critical condition as a result of the engagement. The suspect was recovered deceased at the scene.Overnight a vehicle ramming attack was reported at the FBI Field Office in Pittsburgh. Donald Henson was arrested after crashing his vehicle into the gates of the facility before fleeing the scene on foot. After a brief manhunt, the suspect was apprehended this morning.Analyst Comment: Though this was a targeted attack, this could be more of a case of mental illness rather than a more coherent attack. The suspect had painted statements on his vehicle, and had previously been reported for erratic behavior by family members.Arizona: A suspicious package was discovered outside the headquarters of Turning Point USA, which triggered a police response. EOD personnel were dispatched to examine the bag, which was determined to be a false-alarm.Alabama: This morning, one medevac helicopter was struck with effective Surface-to-Air Fire (SAFIRE) in the vicinity of County Road 51 in Autauga County. Local authorities arrested Peter Ellison for shooting a Life Flight helicopter in the process of responding to a medical emergency. Several rounds impacted the helicopter and one flight nurse was wounded during the attack.Washington D.C. - This morning FCC Chairman Brendan Carr made statements indicating an investigation into the ABC corporation's licensing stipulations, after comments were made during Jimmy Kimmel's show last night that falsely state that Tyler Robinson was a political conservative, and conducted the murder of Charlie Kirk as a result of conservative ideology.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: One of the follow-on effects of the Kirk assassination is the closer examination of platforms which have allowed open calls for violence over the years, with no repercussions. This is why the CEOs of Twitch, Discord, Reddit, and Steam have been requested to testify before Congress next month regarding the overwhelmingly one-sided policing of content on their platforms.Several influencers and content streamers have openly called for violence against political conservatives for many years now, breaking many of these own companies Terms and Conditions for content production. Nevertheless, the violent rhetoric has been allowed for so long, that it's shifted out of the realm of a free-speech issue, and into the territory of quite literal attack planning efforts. The White House (mostly AG Pam Bondi and President Trump himself) is doing an exceptionally poor job at describing this investigative effort, framing the issue without the nuance required to clearly state what is happening. However, as the violence from the political left has not decreased, but rather increased after Kirk's murder, this is a detail very important for risk assessment at a time where the threats are becoming increasingly more serious.Analyst: S2A1Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground//END REPORT

The Steelers played Cover 1 and Cover 3 70% of the time so far this year and Nick said they're not hiding anything. T.J. Watt has gone his last six games without a sack. Jack Sawyer and Nick Herbig are going to have to fill in for Alex Highsmith. Nick thinks Kaleb Johnson is in his own head and the game is too fast for him, at the moment.
We all know where this Steelers season is going. It's 9-8. The schedule has broken open for them with quarterback injuries, but the second half of the schedule is a complete disaster. The two truths are the Steelers aren't going anywhere and they're likely going to go 9-8. Would it be better for the Steelers to win six or seven games?
The Steelers have many winnable games against backup quarterbacks like Carson Wentz and Jake Browning. Will there be any repercussions for Kaleb Johnson? Trai Essex said the Steelers don't have a talent issue but a scheme issue. Players are also taking horrible angles on run plays. Essex said Keeanu Benton can't play nose tackle.
Steelers reporter Brian Batko joins. The Steelers don't hide their scheme very well. Mike Tomlin believes his defense is significant and talented enough to go on the field and do great things. Opponents have done whatever they wanted with the defense. The Steelers don't emphasize speed on kickoffs. The kickoff play could make or break Kaleb Johnson.
Starkey's mailbag. Who will have a bigger impact this season, Roman Wilson or Kaleb Johnson? Starkey thinks it's Wilson, but doesn't say it with confidence. Who should be under more pressure: Mike Tomlin or John Harbaugh? Questions about the Pirates owner's commitment.
Mike Tomlin said that Broderick Jones played "significantly better" against the Seahawks. It makes it difficult for the offensive line when Aaron Rodgers can't move well. Brian Batko thinks the Steelers should bring in an assistant offensive line coach. Steelers have spent high draft picks on their offensive line and haven't paid off at all. Should the Steelers run the tush push? Who can make the Super Bowl?
Jonnu Smith is on pace for 76 catches and had 88 catches last year. The Steelers need to throw the ball down field to Smith. Jaylen Warren had the play of the day with a significant gain and multiple broken tackles.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin addresses the media before the Steelers' Week 3 game against the New England Patriots in New England.
In this episode of The Penguins Collective Podcast, Josh and Louie dive into the return of Pens Legend - Marc-Andre Fleury. From roster shakeups to cap strategy, we're diving deep into what it all means for the team heading into next season — all from a fans-first perspective.

The bullpen's near-perfect ERA has playoff dreams buzzing, George Kirby snaps back in style, and Sam Darnold, Ken Walker, and Riq Woolen all shine. Mitch, Brady, and Joe revel in a historic seven-game home sweep that has the Mariners suddenly in control of the AL West. Gio called the Jets performance, ‘embarrassing'. So much for Aaron Glenn and the accountability. Yesterday we watched the Justin Fields that struggled in Chicago and got benched in Pittsburgh. This was probably his worst game in the NFL. We talked about Aaron Glenn as a rookie head coach. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Russell Wilson interception in overtime. Brian Daboll sounded disappointed after the game. Aaron Glenn had a message to the team after the loss. The Colts beat the Broncos on a FG after a penalty on the previous FG that was no good. The Mets finally won a game as we heard Pete Alonso's 3-run HR in the bottom of the tenth. In the final segment of the hour, there may be an LIRR strike during the Ryder Cup. James Hudson of the Giants was flagged on four plays in one drive to start the game. Boomer said there were a lot of great throws and catches for the Giants yesterday.

Hour 1 Here we are again, 2 weeks into the NFL season and the Giants and Jets are both 0-2. The Giants played prevent defense which didn't make any sense with the Cowboys having one of the best kickers in the league. Cowboys fans should be concerned that they gave up all that offense to a Giants team that normally can't seem to score. Gio wonders why they put Jaxson Dart in for a few plays when Russell Wilson was having a career game. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and we heard the TD from Wilson to Nabers with :25 seconds to play. We also heard the call of the Cowboys game winning FG. We then heard the sounds of the Jets losing to the Bills as they couldn't stop James Cook. We heard Joe Burrow go down with a serious turf toe injury. Aaron Judge homered again, but the Yankees lost to the Red Sox. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer has a stat-pack stat regarding Daniel Jones and the Colts. Gio thought the Browns and Bears would cover this weekend and both got blown out. Hour 2 Gio called the Jets performance, ‘embarrassing'. So much for Aaron Glenn and the accountability. Hour 3 JJ McCarthy struggled last night but Boomer loved the performance by Bijan Robinson of the Falcons. A caller said Tony Romo did a great job of calling out the Jets defense during the broadcast. A Cowboys fan calls in to call the Giants the ‘g-strings'. Boomer told him his defense stinks, so stop crowing. A caller wonders how it feels to have to talk Giants and Jets every day. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the game winning kick as the Cowboys beat the Giants in OT. The Giants had over 500 yards of offense. Brian Daboll said they have to move on to next week. Malik Nabers talked about all the penalties they had. We heard Nantz & Romo on the call as the Jets lost to the Bills. Aaron Glenn talked about beating themselves. We got breaking news that Joe Burrow will need toe surgery. The Lions blew out the Bears and Ben Johnson. In the final segment of the hour, Gio is going to see Dua Lipa on Thursday at MSG. Hour 4 Yesterday was one of the more entertaining Giants games in a long time. Justin Fields is in concussion protocol and it looks like Tyrod Taylor is going to start this week for the Jets. Gio is taking an early look at the spreads for this week's games. Joe Burrow is getting surgery so Jake Browning will be their QB and we remembered his girlfriend wearing a skintight dress at a game once. Maybe the Bengals will want to trade for Jameis Winston. Jerry returns for his final update of the day, but first Gio tells us his wife was bit by a spider. We heard post game sound from the Giants players after their OT loss to the Cowboys. Aaron Glenn talked about the Jets loss. Donald Trump doesn't like the new NFL kickoffs and called it ‘sissy football'. Ben Johnson was asked about the Lions running up the score on the Bears. The Moment of The Day: Gio's Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco impression. In the final segment of the day, we have two Monday night games tonight.

Pittsburgh's getting all glammed up before the NFL Draft next year. But shiny renovation projects (like a new-and-improved Market Square) can only go so far if our hillsides are covered in trash. The city, county and a bunch of local groups just launched a big cleanup campaign called "Immaculate Collection" to redd up our region before company comes over. But why does our city get so dirty in the first place, and what can we do about it? We're revisiting our conversation with Caily Grube, executive director of Allegheny CleanWays, about tackling Pittsburgh's trash problem. Allegheny CleanWays is one of the partners behind Immaculate Collection. Learn more about the campaign and their cleanup events here. **This episode originally aired on June 23, 2025. Located just 10 miles west of Horseshoe Curve the “Station Inn” is a unique bed-and-breakfast alongside the old Pennsylvania Railroad mainline. Built in 1866 only a dozen years after the completion of the “Curve,” it became a sanctuary for weary travelers headed east or west and a summer retreat for many folks that lived in the Pittsburgh area. Run by Alex Lang and his wife Leah, it's become their passion of carrying on the tradition of Tom Davis who originally turned the inn into a rail fanning hot-spot in 1993. Tom was a dear family friend of the Langs and when he passed away, it seemed only natural for them to take over and continue on the tradition that had been started so many years earlier. Alex has been on the podcast before, and this episode is just as entertaining and informative as ever. Enjoy!!
There just is not enough content online about motherhood that speaks both to Christian faith and progressive, inclusive values. We're trying to change that discourse, one conversation at a time, in a mini-series we're calling "Christian Motherhood Taboos." Today we take an overview of why this matters, why talking about motherhood is ALWAYS talking about power, gender, economics, whose suffering counts, and humanity as a whole, and why this series is not "just" for moms ... but for any community striving to honor the dignity and worth of every human being. +++Like what you hear?
