Your Instagram Comments Section is Getting a MAJOR Upgrade - Episode 156 Instagram is rolling out yet another new feature that allows you to—drumroll please—PIN your favorite Instagram comments to the top of your thread! Do you want to put a superfan’s comment in the spotlight? Or move negative comments further down your feed? Now you can! In this Wingnut Social Monday Marketing Minisode, Darla and Natalie share how to pin Instagram comments—and why a designer would want to. What You’ll Hear On This Episode of Wingnut Social [0:36] WHY are they doing a podcast at 5 am? [1:36] You can now PIN your Instagram comments [4:58] Instagram is implementing anti-bullying measures [6:25] The commenter will get notified of the pin [6:45] How do you actually pin the comment? [7:03] What does this mean for designers? [9:07] Blooper Reel! Resources & People Mentioned Instagram WHY the Instagram comments feature is all the rage If you have a post on Instagram that’s performing well and a superfan posts an excited and cheery comment, you want to promote it. Now, you can! To do so, you simply swipe left on the comment and click the pin icon and voilà! It will pin the Instagram comment to the top of the thread. It will be the first comment people see and serve to create excitement and buzz around the post. PLUS the commenter will get notified that you were so enthralled by their comment that you boosted it to the top of your thread. YouTube has embraced the pinned comments feature since 2016, so it was about time Instagram stepped up to the plate. This can even be a GREAT marketing tool for designers. How? Listen to the minisode to find out! Clean up your Instagram comments Even better—you’re allowed to pin up to THREE comments to the top of your thread. Why is this so important? It allows you to push negative comments—that you may not want to delete—further down and out of sight. So users can still see how you handle negative comments from a customer service point of view, but all of the focus and emphasis is on the positive comments. Natalie shares that Facebook and Instagram took 1.5 million pieces of content off the platform in the 4th quarter of 2019 and the 1st quarter of 2020 because of bullying and harassment violations. Instagram is going to add more anti-bullying measures to protect their users and encourage a positive environment. Pinning Instagram comments to the top of your thread means YOU have the power to control the environment of your account. “Take care of yourself”. You’ve heard those words before. “Take care of yourself so you can continue to care for your loved one” What do you feel when you hear that? Anger? Frustration? Acceptance? Usually someone you love tells you this because they sense you need it. Or maybe they’ve said it because they’ve heard it somewhere. It’s not the reason why someone says it but the mood you are in when you hear it being said. When you are stressed out, tired and frustrated with life the last thing you want to hear is that on top of it all you have to care for yourself! With what time? With what energy? How? Listen to this episode to hear about how I felt when I was told to take care of myself and a tool I found to use. Find more on www.caregiverconnectionpodcast.com

In this episode of Behind the Bench with AJP-Heart and Circ hosted by Lisandra de Castro Bras (East Carolina University) and Jonathan Kirk (Loyola University Chicago), we talk with Charlotte Usselman, Assistant Professor in Kinesiology and Physical Education at McGill University. Charlotte’s recently published article is a culmination of research that began in the summer of 2016 during her post-doc at the John B. Pierce Laboratory at Yale School of Medicine. One year into the project, Charlotte was offered a position at McGill, which she postponed for 6 months to finish collecting data at Yale. In 2018, she focused heavily on getting her new lab up and running, and did not focus on her preeclampsia research. Charlotte’s story is living proof that things don’t always go as planned, much like having a preeclamptic pregnancy. Sometimes our lives outside of work are hard, even painful, and this certainly informs how we move forward personally and professionally. But a collision of timing can sometimes result in unexpected success. How? Listen. Charlotte W. Usselman, Tessa E. Adler, Yasmine Coovadia, Cheryl Leone, Michael J. Paidas, Nina S. VIBES! This week we work on raising our vibrations and what that means from an energetic standpoint and how we can go about doing so, from the practical everyday strategies to the deep work that lies in our subconscious. The podcast is in four segments, and here’s this week’s breakdown: 1: Rock Your Life with Amy: How are your vibrations this week? Mine were not on point, despite doing all the "right" things. So I dove deep to explore what we can learn from that and how we can embrace the lower vibe moments and use them to teach us and ultimately raise our vibration. I get into the vibrational power of honesty and how we can tap into that and use it to raise us up. 2: The Interview (12:12): Today we talk with Giselle Koy. Giselle is a powerful vibrational force, and the author of six books, her latest being "The Codes of Immortality." She is a certified epigenetic coach and a transformational coach centering on getting people into their full power and fulfilling their soul and destiny. She talks about how she is handling this time, talks practically about using a spiritual and vibrational checklist, which I love, and she takes this further into how vibrations affect our DNA and other things we can be doing to raise our frequency. She addresses that we have to lay the right foundation to raise our frequency, and what we can do to make that happen more optimally. And she mentions what she's working on now, and to get that, simply email her at gisellekoy@gmail.com. 3: Go Aff Yourself (31:43) with Jill Faulkner of stickwithit.co: Jill vows to work on her accents, and we determine that this can raise your vibration! How? Listen to find out. We talk about who we are inherently and what happens to our vibration in this experience. Resetting and expanding your vibration is our focus, and it enables us to be our true self in the world. Can we have high vibration without the “productivity” we are used to? And what about when no one is looking?. This week’s Aff is: I release my blocks. 4: BYOBBB(51:23) Build Your Own Brand, Biz + Brain with Bijou Finney: Neither of us were feeling high-vibe the day we recorded, so it was a great time to talk about what to do in those moments. We touched on work flow and the roller coaster of vibes even when you are doing al the “right” things, and self medicating when our vibe is really low. What do we do on low vibe days when we can’t do any more? And how pervasive is the collective vibe, and what does honesty bring to the table? Please rate, review, and subscribe! The most important thing when going through a slump or when you are broke is your mental state. It goes a long way in cementing the actions that you will take as well as creating a psyche with which you will operate. When you are broke, it is not just the physical absence of cash that will bother you. Something much more powerful and negative is happening in your mental state that directly affects your psyche. It is good to make sure that you keep that mental state healthy and the psyche unperturbed in terms of knowing that your self-esteem and self-worth and self-concept are not negatively affected. How? I'm trying something a bit different today and I'm pulling up from 25ft with an album review! This week, I am reviewing Care Package by Drake. The project is a compilation of songs he has released over the years but have not found a home on official releases other than a couple tracks that made it on as bonus tracks. The songs were released over a span of 7 years and reflect the stylistic changes that Drake's music has taken over the years. These tracks serve as nostalgic markers throughout this decade and although, I have heard all of these tracks before, I was in for a surprise. This. Is. The. Second BEST. Drake album of all time. This episode is brought to you by ITProTV. Visit https://www.itpro.tv/7minsec for over 65 hours of IT training for free! This week we're talking about everybody's favorite topic: REPORT WRITING! Yay! The peasants rejoice! In the last few months I've seen a lot of reports from other companies, and here are a few key problems I see with them: Too long - overall these things are waaAAaAaaAayyyYYYYYYyyy too long. I see reports where the analyst has copied and pasted an entire Nessus report into the main report. Yikes. That makes these things weigh in at hundreds(!) of pages. Too techie - these reports look like their written from one techie to another. Nothing wrong with that, really, however in many cases the key person that needs to "get it" is a manager or C-level position who needs to understand the risks in plain English. No narrative - the reports are just a long laundry list of vulnerabilities without any context of how the pentest was conducted or which vulns should be fixed first. Weak remediation - most of the findings are accompanied by whatever remediation instructions are provided by the vuln-scanner or other tool. We can do better than this! How? Listen to today's episode :-). Oh, and don't forget to come to the next 7MS User Group meeting on Monday, April 22! Details here!

"I just do what I'm told." That's what one of the people in a business coaching group I'm part of said recently, and as soon as I heard it, I knew I had to do a podcast episode about it. Blindly following along with what someone else tells you to do without stopping to use common sense, check in with yourself, and see if it's the right fit for you is a mistake. You need to be able to do the work and stand on your own two feet, in every respect. DO ask for help. DON’T go along with everything you’re told without questioning if it's right for YOU. This might seem counter-intuitive coming from me as a coach, but this is my entire point. I don't want you to do every single thing I suggest without learning whether or not it's working for you. I'm simply a guide. My goal is to help you find your confidence, to trust in your own abilities and recognize that you don't need to have your hand held forever. It takes practice, but you will be able to use what you learn in the long haul, on those days when no one else is around to make a decision for you. YOUR CIRCLE OF INFLUENCE It’s said that you’re the result of the 5 people you spend the most time with. How will you ever be able to level up if you aren’t capable of deciphering what works for you and what doesn’t? THIS ATTITUDE IS WHY PEOPLE FAIL. Look, it’s scary when we’re new at something. Feels like too much to handle, it's easier to listen to others. That’s ok when we’re just learning, but it can also be a downside. Anyone struggling with imposter syndrome knows this: that tiny voice in the back of your head that tells you to do something other than what’s in front of you, but you shove it down because you don’t believe that you know enough. You are enough. Moreover, you can learn to become an independent thinker. Because your success depends on it. How? Listen to your gut Try it on for size for a reasonable length of time. There's a difference between blindly doing something forever and giving up after 2 minutes. Test out a different way of doing something. AUDIT YOUR NUTRITION & LIFESTYLE I'm offering a handful of FREE 30 minute calls to help you get super clear on why you feel like you're spinning your wheels when it comes to your health. You jump from diet to diet, promise yourself that this week will be different, attempt to eliminate entire food groups and end up feeling like you have no self control when it comes to food and willpower. Stop waiting for someone to give you permission, or for the "right time," whatever that looks like. There's no better time than right now, and that way you have new habits you can practice over the holidays and start the new year feeling better than ever, rather than bloated and guilty. You deserve this. You deserve to stop giving up on yourself. Book a free call with Emily here. DON'T MISS... On today's episode of the His and Her Money Show, we have a young couple, Leo and Faith, who have an awesome debt-free story. This phenomenal couple is on a debt-kicking mission and is half-way to the finish line. They have paid off $115,000 of debt in 12 months! How? Listen to the episode to find out the strategies that they applied. Faith is really passionate about debt freedom, helping people get out of debt and talking about finances. Leo is an occupational therapist, who loves to play basketball during his free time, and is passionate about sharing their story of hope. At first, Faith had a mindset of seeing debt as normal and planned to take care of it later. She bought all the things she wanted, the opposite of Leo. Leo, in fact, motivated her to settle their debts first in order to begin a family. They have figured out the purpose and vision of their marriage. Having financial conversations before they've got married helped them to address their goals early on. Leo and Faith did some side hustling, spending almost all their time working and attacking one loan at a time. They have created a poster to visually see the flow of their debts and payments. Furthermore, they are treating it seriously and considering it as a kind of motivation. They are dedicated and are digging their heels in to get to the finish line. Ikigai is a Japanese word that roughly translates to the reason for being. Why are we here? What is our purpose? Are these some of the questions you ask yourself? Some of us would have spent our whole lives without finding or knowing it. Our guest today Harsha Makhija believes she has found her Ikigai. How? Listen in to find out. Harsha is a pilates instructor, mum to three and a vagabond at heart. She believes everything she does must have a purpose and she lives her life with that in mind. Discovering one's Ikigai requires self-reflection and the simplest way to find it according to author Dan Buettner is by making three lists: your values, things you like to do, and things that you are good at. The cross-section of the three lists is your Ikigai. One's Ikigai also takes into consideration what one can be paid for and it's at the cross-section of these four that one can find their Ikigai! Ultimately discovering our Ikigai means we can live a life of joy, fulfilment and balance in our daily lives as our passion, family, jobs are not isolated parts of our lives but interconnected and it's at the intersection point, we can find lasting happiness and contentment. Inheritance tax is one of the most hated around. Despite the fact that most people will never leave enough wealth to have it charged on their estates, we really don't like the idea of 40% above a certain amount going to the taxman. But IHT is also a tax that can be avoided. How? Listen to this week's podcast to find out, as Simon Lambert, Georgie Frost and Sarah Davidson discuss all things inheritance. They look at how it works, ways to avoid it and the traps you could fall into. They also have some ideas about what we should do about it. If Chancellor Philip Hammond is listening - and we sincerely hope he does tune in – then he can get some feedback on an idea he was credited with this week: taking some money off the old, to give to the young. What started out as rumours of a lower tax rate for the under-30s, ended up as an apparent Budget plan to cut pension tax relief for older savers and somehow boost what’s on offer to younger people. Our story on this has been the most read of the week and the idea has faced a huge backlash. Why is that, could this work or is it just more shuffling of the deckchairs? Also, up for discussion is the latest economy news, from inflation, to wages, a state pension increase and a November rate rise that may or may not be nailed on. And finally, do you have a favourite motorway service station? It turns out that some of the This is Money team are sad enough to have one – so if you’re like us you’ll be glad to know an astonishing 112 British service stations have been ranked. What is Georgie’s top motorway service station? Listen to the end to find out. (Now, there’s an invitation.) Enjoy.

Businessman Feargal Quinn's first book Crowning the Consumer sold more than 100,000 copies and was translated into 14 languages. It came after building a national chain of grocery stores, Superquinn, which he started at the age of 23. How did he do it? By always having the advantage over his competitor. And how did he do that? By making the customer front and centre of his every move. He held meetings in the grocery aisles, ran 'win your weight in groceries' competitions, and was the first person to play music in a supermarket. And when every other grocery store in Ireland was down on sales, because of foot and mouth disease, Superquinn's sales were up. How? Listen to a business pro have his career dissected by Margaret E Ward, where Feargal, who went on to become a Senator in the Irish parliament, reveals his number one business principle. A clue? It involves an old Australian toy. This was one of Feargal's last ever interviews before his death in April 2019. And a bonus segment: Our panel of experts also talk through the mechanics of getting a pay rise or promotion. Click Here To Download

For many people the beginning of a new year is the time to set intentions and make resolutions, such as losing the extra weight, going more often to the gym or spending less and saving more. However, most self-improvement goals get abandoned within a couple of months. I dont have enough time, it isnt feasible or I am not strong enough are just some of the most common explanations for giving up. Yet, the real reason why people dont stay committed to what they intended to do is that their goals come from a should and have to attitude, which makes them ultimately just another item on the already way too long to-do-list.
