In today's podcast we talk about the very latest digital twin visualisation technologies and find about a bit more about how and why these new immersive tools are truly set to transform the way we design construct, operate and maintain our infrastructure. At the heart of today's discussion will be infrastructure software developer Bentley Systems' new iLab experience which gives hands-on experience with real-time digital twins and features the latest advances in project visualization to bring models to life literally in front of your eyes. I was given a glimpse of this impressive tool recently by my guest today Greg Demchak, Vice President for Emerging Technologies at Bentley Systems at the Year in Infrastructure event in Vancouver where the latest iteration of the iLab experience was being rolled out to the press and to industry professionals. It is quite something! The iLab is an experience which provides users with an immersive infrastructure experience that is capable of both educating and explaining infrastructure while also helping professionals to get hands on with a real-time digital twin visualization. This allows users to not only enter and experience designs in their real world settings but also provides a range of tools AI enhanced tools to explore options, make changes and visualise the impact of their decision making in real time.To be quite honest, seeing is believing! It is quite an extraordinary experience and one which, I hope, the words in this conversation with Greg today will do justice to. RAD Diversified CEO Dutch Mendenhall returns to the show (last appeared on ILAB 178 & 194) to give us an update on real estate and so much more! Dutch has previously told us about past visionary moves that he was able to capitalize on and this appearance is no different! Find out how he was able to profit from the Russian-Ukrainian War, why he moved out of California, how he is able to purchase more homes in this economic landscape & more. Plus, he addresses concerns about RAD Diversified brought by our listeners who have previously invested. About Dutch Mendenhall: Dutch Mendenhall is a husband, father, American patriot, and gifted visionary. He leads by example and doesn't believe in quitting. His leadership across six real estate investment funds combines the science of advanced analytics with new-age Artificial Intelligence, resulting in formidable industry-leading performance. In 2007, Dutch turned his strengths from a career coaching baseball toward consulting in the real estate industry. He became a highly sought-after thought leader in developing real estate education and training. Dutch helped thousands of investors earn millions of dollars in real estate revenue. Yet, he knew that a greater purpose still lay ahead. Then, in 2015, Dutch had a vision for what would become RAD Diversified. An exclusive way for his students to partner with him on real estate investments. He felt the calling to help others secure a future for themselves and their families through the power of real estate done right and done together. So, Dutch began building the rockstar team and groundbreaking systems needed to accomplish this vision. He partnered with real estate legend Amy Vaughn. Brought on high achievers to design RAD Diversified in a way that would scale up as the vision grew. Today, the RAD Diversified team includes more than 150 people and a portfolio of well over $100 million in diversified real estate assets. His ethos is best summed up as People First. Dutch is always working for his people: investors, the team of people that drive the funds, vendors, contractors, tenants, and many more. The constant is "Creating Consistent Goodwill for the Business." Dutch does not believe in comparison but sets his sights on his race against himself. OmegaBall Founder Anthony Dittmann sits down with Derek Spartz to discuss what it takes to create a whole new sport, how to market and monetize it and how they're raising capital. Sam and Derek catch up and discuss their experiences at an OmegaBall event as well as what potential they see in this very early investment opportunity in the sports industry. About Anthony Dittmann: Anthony Dittmann began his career working for the San Diego Chargers until 1998. After the NFL, he worked for ESPN in several capacities; all involving the design, construction and management of ESPN-owned events including the ESPY Awards and culminating as the Director of Operations as well as Event Director for X Games in Los Angeles, Barcelona, Aspen and Tignes, France. Since the X Games, Dittmann has produced events for NBC Sports and The Enthusiast Network before ultimately starting Kilowatt Events with several colleagues. Kilowatt specializes in designing and executing major events in music, sports and entertainment that are typically televised. Major clients include ESPN, NetJets, C3 Presents, Pepsi, The LA Times and the NFL. In 2018, Dittmann patented (with his colleague Rafael Munaro), a foldable (to 2” wide) dual stream event recycle/trash bin that is poised to rid the industry of the ubiquitous, but ineffective cardboard event trash can. Cerobins have since been bought by major events and facilities including Sofi Stadium and Climate Pledge Arena. In 2020, Anthony invented a new sport called OmegaBall. Reimagining and revolutionizing the game of soccer with three teams, three goals, no offsides, and no throw-ins (cornerkicks only) in a circular field. All packed into a one-hour match in a field that is half the size of a traditional soccer field. Headquartered in San Diego, OmegaBall has already appeared on the Fox and ESPN networks with semi-professional players on the pitch. OmegaBall is also expanding into competitive youth and recreational opportunities through a new partnership with USSSA. OmegaBall is…. Chaos on the Pitch! Anthony also spent several years as an adjunct professor in the sport business graduate program at California State University, Long Beach and the University of San Francisco. He is also a helicopter pilot. DISCLOSURE: Sam Marks is related to Anthony Dittmann and, as of this episode's release, has not invested any capital into OmegaBall. A timely topic we've been hearing about from listeners for months – U.S. I Bonds. These are bonds issued by the U.S. Treasury to hedge against inflation and currently pay an incredible 9.62% rate… but there are a lot of restrictions and time is running out! We invite CFP Maggie Gomez, aka Money with Maggie, to the show to break down the ins and outs of I Bonds. Then Johnny and Derek discuss if they think I Bonds are a good play or if your money is better served invested elsewhere. Maggie Gomez is on a mission to help you feel strong and confident in your financial situation. Maggie's professional experience in major brokerage firms made her realize that clients with less than 6 or 7 figures to invest weren't getting quality attention from a financial professional. That left most people with nowhere to turn to manage their financial life and start investing in their future! So that is why she started “Money with Maggie” Experience: CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (designation received after a 12-month intense study program and 6-hour exam covering a full spectrum of financial planning topics) 8 years of experience working at Charles Schwab, Morgan Stanley, and E*TRADE Held a FINRA Series 7 License (Stock Broker, i.e. I sold investment products) Held a FINRA Series 66 License (licensed to offer investment advice) Listen to ILAB 252 on iTunes here or subscribe on your favorite podcast app. Where we are: Johnny FD – Greece / IG @johnnyfdj Sam Marks – Thailand / IG @imsammarks Derek Spartz – Los Angeles / IG @DerekRadio Sponsor: IndeedIndeed knows that when you're doing everything for your company, you can't afford to overspend on hiring. Then Derek and Johnny discuss if they'd invest in this, and how they'd utilize these homes for themselves. In addition, he appeared on Oprah Winfrey Show, and served on numerous non-profit educational organizations in the US, India, and the UK. He has over 35 years of experience building and developing residential properties. His startup before Azure was an education management company which he grew to $120MM in revenue with 1,800 employees on three continents. He co-founded Azure in 2019. Azure initially bootstrapped its growth and raised a pre-seed angel round earlier this year and is in the middle of a $5MM seed round raise. Azure generates $400K/mo in revenue and has over $14MM in pre-orders. Mass production of the units will begin before the end of this year.
