While the topic of pelvic floor health mainly centers around females at the child bearing age, it's incredibly important for any human being to have quality pelvic floor health. My guest today is the sister of a two time guest on the show Melissa Parra and I'm so excited for this conversation! Michelle Parra, MSPT earned her Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland in 1995. She has since pursued extensive training in the area of Pelvic Health and has been treating male and female patients exclusively in this area for the last 14 years. She is experienced in the treatment of urinary and bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain and pregnancy and post-partum related issues. She is passionate about helping patients with issues that can be difficult to talk about, but that may be a barrier to full participation in life. She especially loves teaching and motivating patients to improve their health and to move towards a more holistic picture of wellness. She completed a certification in Integrative Health and Wellness coaching though University of Arizona Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine in 2020. 6/27/25 - Capitalism vs. Marxism: The Battle for America's Future

On Friday's Mark Levin Show, the Second Industrial Revolution unleashed American capitalism's potential, driving unprecedented economic growth and creating a prosperous middle class. Contrary to Marxist critiques, capitalism delivered widespread benefits through innovation, producing abundant food, housing, medical care, and modern conveniences like clean water and automobiles. These advancements raised life expectancy and living standards far beyond historical norms, showcasing capitalism's ability to foster prosperity and self-correction in open societies, unlike Marxist or autocratic systems. This is an answer to NYC Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani who said he doesn't support capitalism. When you understand capitalism it's very easy to defend.  Also, there were two big Supreme Court cases today. In a 6-3 Supreme Court decision written by Justice Barrett, the court ruled against universal injunctions, asserting federal courts lack authority to broadly oversee the executive branch. Barrett's opinion emphasizes courts must stay within Congress-granted powers, preventing judicial overreach that could undermine the presidency and constitutional framework. Justice Jackson's dissent is radical. The ruling protects the democratic processes. In addition, there was a 6-3 decision written by Justice Alito, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of parents in Montgomery County, Maryland, who challenged the school board's policy of mandating LGBTQ and related curricula in elementary schools without informing parents or allowing them to opt out. This decision reinforces protections for religious freedom and parental authority. Finally, Gianno Caldwell joins to talk about his new book, The Day My Brother Was Murdered: My Journey Through America's Violent Crime Crisis. Then, Ken Paxton also scored a victory when the Supreme Court sided with him, allowing Texas to require age verification for porn sites. Faulty Intel Sparks Firestorm Over Iran Strike Assessment A leaked report suggesting Trump's Iran strike was ineffective relied on faulty signals intelligence. Iranian officials intentionally fed disinformation via tapped calls, misleading DIA analysts. Israeli sources confirm the operation's major success. Bryan calls for top DIA officials to be fired and their Iran shop frozen. Tariff Revenue Surges to Record Levels President Trump's tariff policies are paying off with $26.7 billion collected in June so far. Analysts say this could reduce the U.S. deficit by nearly $3 trillion over the next decade without driving inflation. GE Appliances and Liberty Phone Signal Manufacturing Comeback China-owned GE Appliances will move washing machine production to Kentucky, creating 800 jobs. Meanwhile, debate swirls over whether the Trump family's $500 “Made in USA” phone can actually be built domestically. Liberty Phone shows it's possible—just not fancy. Reshoring Cars Faces Hurdles Ford and GM are reshoring car production, but profits and supply chain challenges remain. Mexico's cheaper labor still makes foreign-made cars more profitable. Tariff clarity from the White House is needed to accelerate change. Today's Headlines: President Trump is pressuring Israeli PM Netanyahu to end the Gaza war in exchange for a sweeping regional deal: hostages released, Hamas exiled, Gaza jointly governed by Arab states, and a conditional Israeli endorsement of Palestinian statehood—with Saudi Arabia and Syria joining the Abraham Accords. But the plan faces major hurdles: Hamas resists exile, Arab nations want Palestinian Authority involvement (which Netanyahu opposes), and Trump's meddling may be tied to helping Netanyahu dodge corruption charges. Meanwhile, Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei dismissed U.S. strikes as ineffective, contradicting Trump's claims of “obliteration,” while intel reports show only a few months' setback to Iran's nuclear program. Elsewhere, a Canadian man died in ICE custody, and GOP Rep. Andy Ogles called for NYC mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani to be investigated and deported over old rap lyrics referencing a terror case. In another first, the Trump DOJ is suing all 15 federal judges in Maryland for slowing down deportations. The Senate parliamentarian struck down major Republican budget cuts—like SNAP reductions and student loan crackdowns—as non-compliant with congressional rules, complicating Trump's push to pass the bill by July 4.SCOTUS ruled states can block Planned Parenthood from Medicaid funding—even for non-abortion care—while Trump considers firing Fed Chair Jerome Powell early for not slashing rates fast enough. Finally, 280+ U.S. cities broke heat records this week as a “heat dome” scorched the Midwest and East Coast, affecting nearly 130 million Americans. He balks at the idea that he is the mayor of Pimlico, but longtime Baltimore fixture John Scheinman easily could fill that role. He has been a regular in the old press box for decades in his roles as a two-time Eclipse Award-winning turf writer and as a dyed-in-the-wool horseplayer. Scheinman is the lone guest this week on the Ron Flatter Racing Pod. He talks about the can't-miss-him presence he has brought to Pimlico and tells stories about the last days of the old track before its planned demolition this summer and redevelopment in the next two years. Scheinman offers critical commentary about the reconfiguring of Maryland racing with the exit of The Stronach Group and the emergence of the new Maryland Jockey Club. He even has thoughts about the impact the new Pimlico will have on the Park Heights neighborhood in Baltimore. Asked to assume the imagined role of racing czar, Scheinman offered ideas on how he would lure fans back to the Preakness and how confident he is that the new racetrack and grandstand at Pimlico can meet his hopes. In recognition of this month's celebrations honoring the end of legal slavery in the United States, we bring you this week a conversation on "A New Birth of Freedom: Commemorating Juneteenth in Kentucky" led by Dr. Patrick Lewis, of the Filson Historical Society, back on June 18, 2021 - the first year that Juneteenth was recognized as a federal holiday. Watch recording at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8e5L7a1pME Dr. Patrick Lewis is now the President of the Filson Historical Society. A Trigg County native, he graduated from Transylvania University and holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Kentucky. He has worked for the National Park Service and the Kentucky Historical Society. Lewis is author of For Slavery and Union: Benjamin Buckner and Kentucky Loyalties in the Civil War (2015). Emancipation in the United States was over 200 years in the making by the time the 13th Amendment officially ended human bondage in 1865. The Juneteenth National Independence Day Act was signed into law in 2021, making Juneteenth a federal holiday. But earlier versions of the holiday have been celebrated in the South since the mid-1860s. Kentucky recognized the holiday in 2005 through a proclamation by the General Assembly. In 1862, President Abraham Lincoln, born in Kentucky in 1809, signed the Emancipation Proclamation, which declared that individuals enslaved in Confederate territories were to be freed. Effective January 1, 1863, the legal status of millions of enslaved individuals in the Southern states changed, but the Proclamation depended heavily on the Union Army for enforcement, with most Southern enslavers ignoring the executive order. Beyond the Confederacy, enslaved people in Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, and Missouri were unaffected by the Emancipation Proclamation. Being a geographic outlier from the Confederacy, Texas was especially slow and inconsistent in enforcing the Proclamation, and many African Americans remained enslaved. On June 19, 1865, Union General Gordon Granger issued General Order No. 3 and declared all persons previously enslaved in Texas to be freed. Supported by more than 2,000 federal troops, General Granger was finally prepared to enforce the emancipation of Texas's enslaved population. The following year, on the anniversary of the order, free African Americans in Texas organized celebrations to commemorate the occasion, originally calling it “Jubilee Day.” Outside of the South, Maryland and Missouri had both ended slavery within their state boundaries by early 1865. However, it wasn't until the ratification of the 13th Amendment on December 6, 1865, that slavery was fully abolished in the United States, forcing Kentucky and Delaware to recognize the freedom of their enslaved population. In Texas, joyous events commemorating the end of slavery evolved over the years with one major change: renaming the holiday Juneteenth in the 1890s. Following the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s, Juneteenth events emerged on a bigger stage throughout the country. In Louisville in 2020, local organizers, activists, and leaders created a Juneteenth festival to celebrate Black culture and resilience. Two years later in 2022, former Mayor Greg Fischer signed an ordinance that declared Juneteenth a city holiday. In Kentucky, the most widespread regional celebration of Jubilee Day is August 8th, a date originating from Paducah and Western Kentucky's diaspora. This year, the Filson is helping sponsor and support the August 8th Emancipation Day Celebration at Louisville's West End Women's Collaborative, led by Filson Community History Fellow Mariel Gardner on Friday, August 8th, 5pm - 8pm at ELAhouse, 3835 Hale Avenue Louisville, KY 40211. https://www.wewc4art.com/play Truth to Power airs every Friday at 9pm, Saturday at 11am, and Sunday at 7pm on Louisville's grassroots, community radio station, Forward Radio 106.5fm WFMP and live streams at https://forwardradio.org

Under President Trump, America's role on the global stage is being redefined — but can other countries trust its allyship under his leadership? Critics argue his transactional approach and threats to abandon allies undermine trust and force nations to reconsider their security. Now we debate: Is Trump's America a Reliable Ally?  Arguing Yes:   Joshua Shifrinson, Associate Professor at University of Maryland's School of Public Policy; Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Cato Institute   Kelly Grieco, Senior Fellow with the Reimagining US Grand Strategy Program at the Stimson Center    Arguing No:   Liana Fix, Fellow for Europe at the Council on Foreign Relations  Charles Kupchan, Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and Professor of International Affairs at Georgetown University  Learn more about your ad choices.
