This week, in Largo, Maryland, a quiet suburb is shaken, when multiple murders occur, including 2 different pairs of mother/daughters. Both mothers were nurses, and both daughters were teens. An FBI profiler says that none are connected, but the local cops believe it's a serial killer. One crazy break opens up the floodgates of evidence, connecting to a series of home invasions & murders, with some seriously disturbing videos, showing even more depravity!! Along the way, we find out that technically, you can ride a pig, but it doersn't seem like a good idea, that no matter how secure your home is, there is always someone willing to go the extra mile to kill, and that if things seem too weird to be just coincidence, they probably aren't!! Unleashed: The Political News Hour with Chris Cordani – The left's fury over Texas' maps is nothing short of theatrical. Progressive leaders are accusing Republicans of “rigging” the state's political boundaries — yet remain curiously silent about Democrat-led gerrymandering in states like New York, Illinois, and Maryland. Cordani calls it what it is: political hypocrisy...

William Robbins, DDS, MA / Marcela Alvarez, DDS, MS / Bradley Beckel, DDS In the not too distant past, the specialist's tool box was fairly limited in the adult patient. The orthodontist's tools included aligning teeth, intruding anterior teeth and orthognathic surgery. The periodontists tools were pocket elimination surgery and gingival grafting. Today orthodontists and periodontists have many procedures and techniques, which have opened a new world of treatment planning for the pre-restorative interdisciplinary patient. These include pre-orthodontic bonding, esthetic crown lengthening, surgically facilitated orthodontic treatment (SFOT), temporary anchorage devices (TADs), skeletal anchorage plates, micro-implant assisted rapid palatal expansion (MARPE), custom MARPE, and distraction osteogenesis with maxillary expansion (DOME). The purpose of The Mastery is to provide the restorative dentist with an understanding of these tools and a common language with which to enhance communication with the specialists. At the completion of the 4-day continuum, the restorative dentist will be able to actually incorporate the knowledge of these new tools into their everyday practice.

July 3, 2025 Dr. Andre M. Perry, senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and director of the Center for Community Uplift, shares his insights on how community-led approaches can drive investment into historically underfunded neighborhoods. Dr. Andre M. Perry is a nationally known and respected commentator on race, structural inequality, and education. Perry is the author of the book “Black Power Scorecard: Measuring the Racial Gap and What We Can Do to Close It,” published by Henry Holt. In 2020, Brooking Press published Perry's previous book, “Know Your Price: Valuing Black Lives and Property in America's Black Cities.” Perry's 2018 Brookings report on the devaluation of assets in Black neighborhoods brought national attention to systemic undervaluation of homes and extended this research to other community assets like schools and businesses. Perry is a regular contributor to MSNBC and has been published by numerous national media outlets, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Nation, Bloomberg CityLab, and CNN.com. Perry has also made appearances on HBO, CNN, PBS, National Public Radio, NBC, and ABC, and advises policymakers on economic equity. In relation to cooperative development, Perry advocates for community-based solutions such as community land trusts and cooperative investment models. These approaches align with his broader goals of stabilizing neighborhoods, redirecting capital into underinvested communities, and promoting long-term economic empowerment for Black Americans. A native of Pittsburgh, Perry earned his Ph.D. in education policy and leadership from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Our guest today is Phyllis Elmore, a remarkable woman whose story is as unforgettable as the quilts that helped shape her life.Phyllis is the author of Quilt of Souls, a powerful and deeply personal memoir that has touched readers across the country. Born in the Detroit and raised by her grandmother Lula in rural Alabama, Phyllis found herself immersed in a world of deep wisdom, quiet strength, and generational resilience. It was there, surrounded by women who stitched their pain, perseverance, and history into quilts, that Phyllis discovered healing—and the true meaning of family. In 1973, Phyllis joined the United States Air Force and was one of the first female Aircraft Pneudraulic Specialist for the B-52 Bomber. After leaving the Air Force she attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology. In 2001, she joined the Army National Guard as an active-duty guard member. It's also noteworthy to mention that Phyllis was one of only a handful of women in the military who served in three major military conflicts including the Vietnam Era where she served a temporary duty assignment to Vietnam before the 1975 fall of Saigon. She was also deployed to Saudi Arabia as a member of Operation Desert Storm, and in December 2003 as a member of the Army National Guard where she was deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In her civilian career she worked as a counselor for incarcerated youth and for women who were victims of domestic violence. She also spent ten years as a Substance Abuse Counseling Supervisor. In her remarkable book Quilt of Souls, Phyllis shares stories that were nearly lost stories of the Black women who raised children not theirs, who held families together through hardship, and who passed down their heritage through hands that stitched, cooked, comforted, and carried so much. Her writing is rich, lyrical, and full of love—an act of remembrance and a celebration of the strength it takes to keep going, and to keep telling the truth.(3:11) Phyllis recounts being uprooted from Detroit at age four and sent to rural Alabama to live with her grandmother, Lula. She describes the powerful emotional refuge of Lula's quilts—especially one that made her feel truly safe for the first time.(8:03) We get to know Grandmother Lula, an indomitable force who stitched not only quilts but entire communities together. Lula lived to be 105 years old and was threading a needle at 100.(15:55) Phyllis reflects on her return to Detroit as a teen, where she was labeled “incorrigible”—and how those experiences shaped her decision to join the U.S. Air Force.(23:57) After her military service, Phyllis worked as a counselor for incarcerated youth and women facing domestic abuse. Hear how she channeled her life experiences into serving others.(27:30) What inspired Quilt of Souls? Phyllis shares the moment she realized that the stories she carried could—and should—be written down.(30:39) She recalls a particularly poignant story unearthed during her research—one that stuck with her and shaped the book's message.(34:27) Meet Miss Jubilee and hear about the extraordinary quilts and lives Phyllis encountered while researching her memoir.(40:43) Discover the Quilt of Souls Preservation Project and get a preview of Phyllis' upcoming Quilt of Souls Gathering in June 2026.(46:15) Phyllis reveals what she hopes readers take away from Quilt of Souls—and why she believes it's never too late to “right” your story.(51:00) What didn't we ask that she wishes we had? Phyllis gives us a thoughtful answer.(52:10) Want to connect with Phyllis? Visit www.thequiltofsouls.com or email her at thequiltofsouls@yahoo.com. Mason Clutter is a Partner and Privacy Lead at Frost Brown Todd Attorneys, previously serving as Chief Privacy Officer for the US Department of Homeland Security. Mason's practice is at the intersection of privacy, security, and technology. She works with clients to operationalize privacy and security, helping them achieve their goals and build and maintain trust with their clients. In this episode… Companies are facing new challenges trying to build privacy programs that keep up with evolving privacy laws and new AI tools. Laws, like Maryland's new privacy law, are adding pressure with strict data minimization requirements and expanded protections for sensitive and children's data. These shifts are driving companies to reconsider how and when privacy is built into operations. So, how can companies effectively design privacy programs that address regulatory, operational, and AI-driven risks? Companies can start by embedding privacy and security measures into their products and services from the start. AI adds another layer of complexity. While organizations are trying to use AI for efficiency, confidential or personal information is often entered into AI tools without knowing how it will be used or where it will go. Vague third-party vendor contract terms and downstream data sharing compound the risk. Staying compliant means understanding each AI use case, reviewing vendor contracts closely, and choosing AI tools that reflect a company's risk tolerance and privacy and security practices. In this episode of She Said Privacy/He Said Security, Jodi and Justin Daniels chat with Mason Clutter, Partner and Privacy Lead at Frost Brown Todd Attorneys, about how companies can navigate complex privacy, security, and AI challenges. Mason shares practical insights on navigating Maryland's new privacy law, managing vendor contracts, and downstream AI risks. She explores common privacy misconceptions, including why privacy should not be one-size-fits-all or checkbox compliance exercise. Mason also addresses growing concerns around AI deepfakes and why regulation alone is not enough without broader public education.

On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, Sen Adam Schiff's in hot water—he's been accused of corruption and mortgage fraud. The FHFA says he listed both his Maryland and California homes as his “primary residence” to score better loan terms, which could violate federal laws. Now the Justice Department is looking into it, and Schiff says it's all political payback from President Trump, which is just his way of trying to brush off what he did. Aside from all this, a Democratic whistleblower who worked on the House Intelligence Committee claimed to the FBI that Schiff authorized the leak of classified information in 2017 to undermine Trump during the Russia investigation. In addition, Democrats continue to reference the Epstein case, despite it no longer being a relevant topic of discussion. Their desperation to find anything to use against Trump is evident, but the truth will always triumph over hatred and ignorance. The left is now labeling Trump as a dictator who intends to deploy the National Guard to seize control of every city, which is a gross misrepresentation. In reality, Trump is utilizing the National Guard to combat the rising crime rates in Washington, D.C., a Federal city. Thus, the assertion that Trump can impose such measures on any city is incorrect, as is the public's concern regarding the Democrats' apparent indifference to the increasing crime rates in many urban areas. Lastly, Israel has rejected claims of widespread starvation in Gaza, saying Hamas is spreading misleading information to gain political leverage. A report by COGAT found that many deaths labeled as malnutrition-related were actually due to severe pre-existing medical conditions. The review also noted that Hamas failed to provide identifying details for the deceased, raising doubts about the credibility of their reports. One example cited was a child whose condition was attributed to hunger but was later found to suffer from a genetic disorder and had received treatment in Israel before the war. VR3 - It 's Thomas, Lydia, and Matt versus the entire National Review editorial board! Join us as we take on the conservative magazine's recent op-ed on why it is extremely rude to compare masked American federal agents of today who refuse to identify themselves as they grab innocent families off of the street and shove them into unmarked vans bound for concentration camps to masked Nazi German agents of 1933-1945 who refused to identify themselves as they grabbed innocent families off the street and shoved them into vans bound for concentration camps. Matt explains with historical examples why ICE is not NOT the Gestapo as we consider what we can learn from Nazi history. We celebrate the recent return of Maryland father Kilmar Abrego Garcia to the US after his illegal deportation to El Salvador with a take so bad that it is hard to believe that the whole thing wasn't actually published in The Onion. What was the audience for this willfully obtuse Newsweek op-ed praising the DOJ for finding a way to bring Abrego Garcia back other than the fact that the Supreme Court told them to, and what is this trying to say to them? Has this thing already aged worse than Stephen Miller? Finally: updates from Martha's Vineyard (last week's patron-only story) as Epstein attorney Alan Dershowitz and his crusade to bring down the considerable weight of the law against people who refuse to serve him tasty Polish food. WATCH US ON YOUTUBE! ”ICE is No Gestapo,” The Editors, National Review (8/6/25) "Why Was Kilmar Abrego Garcia Returned to the US?", Thomas G. The truth of Donald Trump's deployment of the National Guard to police Washington, D.C. is evident in the demographics of other cities he claims to want to target. Governor Wes Moore makes it clear that he is not interested in playing along with Trump's stunt if Trump tries to move on to Baltimore. Moore also says that redistricting in his state is possible if Donald Trump persists in trying to rig the 2026 election with red state gerrymandering.Plus, Jen Psaki answers White House press briefing questions, minus the Trump White House spin, and the best outcome to hope for from Trump's Friday meeting with Vladimir Putin is that Trump doesn't do too much damage.Follow us on Bluesky at @briefingwithpsaki.bsky.social...and on Threads at @thebriefingwithpsaki

Full Text of ReadingsWednesday of the Nineteenth Week in Ordinary Time Lectionary: 415The Saint of the day is Blessed Michael J. McGivneyBlessed Michael McGivney’s Story The eldest son of an immigrant Irish family in Connecticut, young Michael left school at 13 to work in a brass factory making spoons. At 16 he began studies for the priesthood in Quebec, but was obliged to leave to help support the family when his father died. Michael completed his education in Baltimore, Maryland, and was ordained for the diocese of Hartford in 1877. Assigned to St. Mary's Parish in New Haven, Fr. McGivney was very active in parish and civic affairs, serving as director of public plays and fairs. He volunteered to become the guardian of Alfred Downes, a minor whose father had died leaving a large family in poverty. This situation as well as his own family’s circumstances and that of other immigrants impressed on Fr. McGivney the need for lay Catholic men to establish a mutual aid society to provide financial assistance for their families if the primary wage earner died. Protestant fraternal groups already provided this type of life insurance protection for their members. In 1882, Fr. McGivney formed the Knights of Columbus among a small group of St. Mary’s parishioners to promote charity, unity, and fraternity, assisting widows and orphans. Because of the Knights’ emphasis on serving Church, community and family, the organization grew and did not remain strictly parish-based. Patriotism was added as a founding principle in 1900. Father McGivney died from pneumonia in 1890 and was buried in Waterbury, Connecticut. Later his body was moved back to St. Mary's in New Haven where it remains today. He was beatified in 2020. Reflection Michael Joseph McGivney was a genuine pastor who, in the words of Pope Francis, was unafraid to share “the smell of his sheep.” He promoted families whose members were strong in their faith expressed through generous following of the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. In a decree read at the beatification Mass, Pope Francis praised Fr. McGivney's “zeal and the proclamation of the Gospel and generous concern for his brothers and sisters.” These “made him an outstanding witness of Christian solidarity and fraternal assistance.” Enjoy this inspiring story about Blessed Michael Joseph McGivney! Tom Young grew up on his family's farm in North Carolina. From a young age he was fascinated by his grandfather's stories of being part of a bomber crew during World War II. That helped to spark his interest in both flying and in service. Young served in the Maryland and West Virginia Air National Guard, serving as flight engineer for C-130 Hercules and C-5 Galaxy transport planes. Missions took him to the war zones in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He is also a military novelist and his latest work is The Mapmaker, which focuses on the French Resistance during World War II.In this edition of Veterans Chronicles, Senior Master Sergeant Young tells us all about the C-130 and C-5, his role of flight engineer during flight, and coming under enemy fire in both Iraq and Afghanistan.Young also takes us into the world of the French Resistance, how it was so creatively organized, and the critical role it played in helping the Allies before and after D-Day. He also talks about how dangerous it was to be part of the resistance, especially in the face of the speakable cruelty of the Nazi Gestapo and SS forces towards the people of France

From Florida's black bear season decision to nationwide hunting regulation changes, here's what every outdoorsman should know. In this episode, we dive deep into today's historic Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission vote on reinstating the black bear hunting season. Mark Lance joins us to explore the science-based wildlife management strategies behind the proposal, the surge in Florida's bear population, and how public sentiment—often driven by emotion—shapes these debates. We examine historical bear management in the state, evolving bear hunting methods such as baiting and the use of dogs, and what the commission's decision could mean for conservation. The conversation then shifts to nationwide hunting and conservation policy updates, including the reauthorization of Wisconsin's Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Fund for public lands, Wyoming's open-door approach to public legislative input, and new regulations improving hunter access across the Northeast. We highlight state-level changes such as Maryland's approval of artificial lights for deer recovery, New York's inclusion of crossbows in archery season, and New Hampshire's decision to allow air rifles for big game hunting. We also cover the proposed Wisconsin season for sandhill cranes, the SHARKED Act's approach to shark depredation, and the importance of sportsmen staying engaged with legislative processes. Whether you hunt, fish, or simply care about wildlife management, these updates will keep you informed on the policies shaping the great outdoors.
