Since Steve was a child, he dreamed of making a huge impact on the world. Then, in his 40's after serious complications from spine surgery, and losing 45 pounds in just six weeks, he was back in the hospital. During this time, he began to seriously examine his life. What impact had he really made? If given a second chance, what would he do? These questions coupled with a book he began to read exploded into a commitment to completely give God what he had in his hands - 22 years of design engineering experience - and go all-in on his faith. What happened after that is a Real Faith Story. Steve Cook's path to The Biggest Loser is vastly different from Erica Lugo's. He is 34 years old and grew up in a fitness-minded family. He said, "If I wanted to watch TV as a kid I had to do push ups during commercials," he remembers. Steve Cook played college football and went onto competing in Mr. Olympia and served as the spokesperson for bodybuilding.com before launching his online coaching business. Social InFluencerWith over 2.4 M Instagram followers, 1.2 million YouTube subscribers, Steve’s fitness, nutrition and lifestyle content has been viewed over half a BILLION times. Steve has admitted he can't imagine the anxiety that comes with a large weight loss goal. But he believes his own struggle with body image will help him relate to contestants. Stepping into the Shoes of His Contestants"I know what it’s like to not be happy with who I am," he told Men's Health. He said physique competitions left him in a perpetual feast or famine mindset. "If I wasn’t prepping my body for a show, I didn’t know how to eat," he explains. "It was either that I was weighing out my food or I was binge eating." Back in 2017 he told Men's Health about his personal principles when it comes to training, fitness and health. Steve's Core Values“I always stress the importance of progressive overload – if your goal is to get stronger or bigger, you should always be working off a one-rep max for your compound lifts. So many people just go into the gym and lift whatever. Whether it’s adding more weight each week, or getting more done in a shorter period of rest time, have your set standards so you know you're getting better. I also recommend taking the time to work on your mobility and flexibility. For every hour you’re spending lifting in the gym, you should be doing 15-20 minutes of stretching and mobility work. I see so many guys going into the gym and neglecting that and just constantly shortening the muscles. You’ve got to dedicate time to lengthening it too. Incorporate resistance bands and then make sure you do a dynamic warm-up; it’s called a warm-up for a reason, you need to start sweating.” More on Steve Cook YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3kbAe8BguiZFnsVYY1oW0w) Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/stevecook/ (https://www.instagram.com/stevecook/) Support The Show If you find value in this show please click here to show your love (http://www.glow.fm/biggestloserfancast) , and make our day. Meet Steve Lee, a Hollywood historian, sound effects wrangler, producer and founder of the Hollywood Sound Museum. In this episode, we talk about the ways that sound has been applied to film, spooky Hollywood and whiskey. He’s worked on plenty of your favorites including Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin and The Goofy Movie. A fun listen and a sweet soul. About The Show: LA is a city of 4 million spread over 503 miles, 114 neighborhoods and can take over an hour to get from one side to the other. With that many people bumping up against each other, how is it possible to feel alone and isolated. It's a city of paradox: dreams and heartbreak. Lifelong locals and those just coming in for a shot. Each week, I sit down with a Los Angeles resident to connect. Talk about our lives and what got us to where we are today. Talking. What does it mean for two people to get to know each other? It's also a show about connection in the larger sense, because each guest introduces me to the following week's guest. And as the weeks progress, it'll filter up a chain of people who can all be linked back to each other through who they know. That person we pass in the street, get behind at the grocery store, sit next to at the bar. They are all more connected to us than we may realize at first glance. TacoJED came to the Rochester area one year ago on October 4th 2018- coincidently on National Taco Day! Steve Dunn, owner, could not have planned that any better! After a year, Steve has truly placed himself at a strategic location and become a local stop for all. Steve has a vast background in business, real estate, and most importantly tacos! He started out his venture with Rusty Tacos out of Texas-then moved with them to Minneapolis. Some shifts in ownership occurred, and he found himself at a time where he was ready to have something of his own. Steve conducted research on many cities in Minnesota. He finally settled on Rochester due to the largely diverse population and the wave of regular visitors for the Mayo Clinic. Next came time to find the perfect spot! Steve had a vision when he walked into the location at South Broadway just over a year ago, and knew he found exactly what he wanted! With the right amount of traffic coming through the area, and then designing a welcoming atmosphere he hit Taco gold! Steve aims to create a friendly environment by getting to know his customers, offering live music, and keeping the menu intriguing! Aside from being customer driven, Steve understands how important it is that his employees are treated as family. If you haven’t visited TacoJED yet, what are you waiting for? They are open 7 days a week, (even for breakfast!) offer taco insurance, happy hours, drink specials, vikings and vinyls-all in a friendly environment you will want to come back to! Look forward to Steve venturing out in his taco truck, as well as future catering! Tacos unite people!- TacoJED Located at 808 Broadway Ave. S, Rochester, MN 55904 http://www.tacojed.com/ https://www.facebook.com/TacoJEDRochesterMN/
Meet Steve, the idea behind muscularmentalhealth.com and host of the podcasts. Dedicated to uncovering the challenges of coming forward with mental health concerns, and unscripted ways to break through the stigmas, fears and challenges.
Steve Posselt is an inspiring change maker whose story I am so happy to bring to the show where we talk about water issues, climate change, activism, personal empowerment and what to do when people vehemently disagree with you on big issues such as this. When he talks about the risks of climate change he does it in the most powerful way I’ve heard. He’s a 66-year-old civil and water engineer, adventurer, and grandfather. He’s a Fellow of Engineers Australia and has been a climate activist for well over a decade, using extremely long kayak journeys to promote awareness and education. Currently chair of the Sustainable Engineering Society he is working with Engineers Australia to come to grips with the urgency for climate change action. Old Yella, his wheeled kayak, has served him faithfully for 12 years over 12,000km, with almost 2,000km of that dragging it overland. Using his engineering knowledge his goal has been to alert people to the real risks that climate change presents and to put them into perspective against infrastructure risk calculations that we all depend on. Steve is passionate about doing whatever he can to provide a suitable world for his grandchildren. He is the author of Cry Me a River. Tough Is Not Enough is his second book. I hope you enjoy the conversation and benefit from it, sharing it with family and friends. Don’t forget of course, the show supporter offer over at lowtoxlife.com/podcast Enjoy!

This last week, Steve made dinner and all hell broke loose when he poured the wrong noodles into the water. It reminded us both how many mistakes we’ve made and doubly reminded us how we try to approach those same mistakes … by taking the damn lemons and squirting the lemon juice into someone’s eyes because that is way more fun than lemonade. Through all the mistakes, Steve ends with a touching story of love and its unpredictability. Meet Steve from Sunseeker Steve Handy from Sunseeker Portugal Steve moved over to Portugal with Sunseeker as it makes a lot of sense for this international boat builder to have a presence down here in the Algarve. I got to chat to him about how it all started for Sunseeker in the Algarve and what life is like for Steve in Europe's favourite holiday destination. Listen along! Show notes Steve has been here for three years and relates the story of how Sunseeker came to be in Vilamoura. He was selling a boat to a client on the marina and the client was hesitating as there was no representation in Portugal. He suggested it to the Sunseeker Group and they did it in 2014. Hunting for an office, hiring staff and having high standards in the Algarve business environment. Steve mentions how to adapt to the working environment down here. Choosing a location to move the business to: Vilamoura and then Boliqueime. That pub in Boliqueime is called Pub 37. We discuss finding long term rentals and how tough it is. We have a lovely lady in our Algarve Addicts Facebook group who has a business helping people find long term rentals. The Algarve from a boat owners perspective and naturally the weather plays a big role (as any seagoing person should know :) ). 6-8 restaurants run boat tender services: Estamine Restaurant Restaurant A Sardinha at Praia Arrifes near Albufeira. Gibraltar isn't far away, Lagos is 2 hours away from Vilamoura, Faro is a fantastic destination to cruise in the Ria Formosa. Steve mentions how much fun you can have on a boat as a floating platform and he mentions a Seabob (a type of underwater mini jet ski). https://www.instagram.com/p/BQQ77JFDCHe/ Check out the Seabob! That might be quite fun for those cave visits AND surfing! The Guadiana River for cruising and we talk about Vila Real Santo Anonio and the proximity of Spain.
