Massive Snake Surge Hits Queensland: Catchers Inundated by Eastern Browns and Red Bellies. Jeremy Zakis discusses how predictions of a snake boom came true in Darling Downs, Queensland, where sightings and bites have soared, potentially tripling last year's numbers. Snake catchers are overwhelmed by the volume of calls. The warm, wet spring accelerated breeding cycles, putting many snakes—including pythons, Eastern Brown snakes, and Red Belly Black snakes—on the move. Eastern Brown snakes are highly aggressive and dangerously fast, with venom that can be fatal within an hour, while Red Belly Black snakes tend to paralyze their prey. Retry

In September 1903, the quiet farming town of Van Meter, Iowa became the stage for one of the most credible and terrifying cryptid encounters in American history. For five consecutive nights, townspeople reported a winged creatureunlike anything they'd ever seen — an enormous being with leathery bat-like wings and a glowing horn on its headthat emitted a blinding beam of light powerful enough to pierce the darkness.This wasn't the tale of drunkards or overactive imaginations. This region consistently ranks among the top five locations in Australia for reported encounters, with documentation stretching back to the mid-1800s. The vast Greater Dividing Range (GDR) conceals many secrets and untouched places where modern humans have never set foot. It's an environment where it's easy for someone to go missing, whether by accident or by design.Yowie sightings in the Blue Mountains region have been regularly reported over the years. My own experiences in this area include close encounters—some of which involved positive interactions with a particular Yowie. Rick has trained actors and actresses in fights, falls, and weapons, including the Comic Con Star Wars Challenge winning short, Saber, which won Best Film and Best Action, and also coordinated the Walking Dead webisode Cold Storage, which won the Streamy Award. Recently, he has worked on features in Australia, the Hamptons, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Louisiana. Rick has also acted in many films, including Naked Gun 33 and 1/3, Hatchet 2, where he played the silent hunter John, and recently in Clint Eastwood's J Edgar. He has also stunt coordinated the Friday the 13th video game. Rick, along with Kane Hodder, are the founders of the Hollywood Ghost Hunters. Rick is also the author of his book “Ghosts Believe in Me” which won the 2020 Paranormal Awards Book of the Year.. Woolooga Yowie ReportsIntroductionToday's focus is on two distinct Yowie sightings that occurred at the same location, six years apart. The area is situated fifteen minutes west of Gympie, Queensland—a region well-known for its numerous Yowie encounters over the years. First Yowie ReportThe initial sighting involved a female passenger who spotted a Yowie in a field. She urged the driver to turn back so they could get a better look, but he refused, and the opportunity to observe the creature was lost. The encounter was particularly notable for its description: the Yowie was likened to an Orangutan, standing motionless like a statue and making eye contact as the vehicle sped past.Second Yowie ReportThe second sighting, also at Woolooga, took place six years after the first. This time, the Yowie was not stationary but instead was seen running and obliged to cross the road as the vehicle approached. This report highlights a stark contrast in behaviour compared to the initial encounter.Location Description and AdviceThe site of these sightings consists mainly of farm fields with sparse tree cover. Surrounding these fields are mountains with dense forests, high peaks and deep valleys, all part of the Great Dividing Range (GDR). This vast corridor of forest stretches along the entire eastern side of Australia, providing ample habitat for wildlife, including reported Yowie activity.One memorable situation involved a rural house where the owner had an opportunity for “Bigfoot bartering”. Instead of engaging, the owner installed sensor lights. Something that hundreds of people claim to have seen over the last two centuries — but science still refuses to acknowledge.We're talking about the Florida Skunk Ape — the Sunshine State's answer to Bigfoot, and one of the most unsettling mysteries still hiding in America's wilderness.You might think Florida's too developed for anything unknown to stay hidden. But across generations, the reports haven't stopped. Law enforcement officers, hunters, families, and veterans have all described seeing the same thing: a massive, hair-covered figure with glowing red eyes and a smell so strong it made their stomachs turn.These aren't campfire tales — they're official reports, eyewitness accounts, and in some cases, physical evidence collected by people who had everything to lose and nothing to gain by speaking up.We'll explore nearly 200 years of sightings and encounters, from frontier settlers in the early 1800s who described “man-sized monkeys” raiding fishing camps, to the terrifying 1929 incident at the Perky Bat Tower, where something powerful enough to shake a thirty-foot structure drove out every bat inside.
