Fred from the Subarctic Alaska Sasquatch YouTube channel is back with another unsettling account from the Alaska bush, this time involving two first cousins, Jacob and Charles, who were working at a small mining operation along the Yukon River in the early 1980s.At first, the trouble looked like vandalism. Equipment around the remote camp was being tampered with, water lines were disturbed, trees had been pushed over, and at one point the mining trommel was tipped. With no obvious explanation for what was happening, Charles was assigned to keep watch from a raised platform overlooking the site. That decision only made things stranger.While standing guard, Charles began experiencing a series of close calls. The platform beneath him seemed to shift unexpectedly, an improvised outhouse nearly collapsed while he was using it, and a powerful foul odor around the camp seemed to grow worse. Along with it came the persistent feeling that something nearby was watching him from the timber. Then came the noise.After heavy thrashing erupted in the brush, Jacob came down to check on Charles. When they swept the area with a spotlight, both men caught a brief look at an enormous dark figure moving quickly away from the camp. Based on what they saw against the surrounding trees and equipment, they estimated it stood somewhere around thirteen feet tall.Whatever it was, it didn't simply disappear into the woods. As the men tried to get away and waited for help, they witnessed the scaffolding being pushed over. When the site was examined in daylight, the damage was even harder to explain. The loader appeared to have been shoved from its position, the outhouse had been destroyed, and a large boulder had somehow been forced into the trommel.That was enough for the crew. The operation was abandoned, the men quit, and Charles was taken downriver to a clinic after the ordeal.Fred walks us through the full account and the strange chain of events that left two experienced men convinced that whatever had been tearing apart that mining camp wasn't another person. Brian welcomes Craig and Paul of Penn-Ohio Cryptid Research to share the experiences that pulled them into the world of Bigfoot investigation and the strange encounters that have kept them searching. Paul's fascination began after watching The Legend of Boggy Creek in 1972, while Craig's interest was sparked by the famous Patterson-Gimlin film.What began as curiosity eventually turned into hands-on field research across Pennsylvania and Ohio.Their investigations have produced some unsettling moments. During one of their first outings on private property, Craig and Paul spotted brilliant amber eyeshine near a creek before a large rock suddenly landed between them.They took the hint and left the area. On another investigation, they discovered a series of nearly 14-inch, five-toed footprints with an unusual deformity in the left foot and an estimated 54-inch stride. The tracks were found near a massive A-frame log structure positioned along a cliff, adding another layer of mystery to the site.Craig and Paul also discuss recordings they have collected in the field, including wood knocks, whoops, whistles, and a terrifying scream that appeared to come from the hillside above them. Other incidents include red eyeshine spotted high in a tree, repeated rock throwing, twisted saplings, a freshly snapped living tree, unexplained equipment failures, foul odors, unusual lights and silhouettes captured on trail cameras, and a strange phenomenon in which portions of the surrounding landscape appeared to glow.The conversation also explores several compelling eyewitness accounts, including a daytime sighting of a tall, brownish-gray figure in Pennsylvania's Cook Forest, a hunter's story of seeing what he believed was a Bigfoot carrying a deer, and eerie photographs showing unexplained shadows and what appear to be visible eyes. Copyright ©2026, Weird Darkness.Originally aired: July, 2022Weird Darkness digs into Ukraine's decades-long record of UFO sightings and humanoid encounters, from a husband and wife carried aboard a disc-shaped craft outside their own front door, to horned figures stripping orchards near an ancient fortress honeycombed with tunnels, to a truck driver who described being walked across the surface of the moon by three men who had flagged him down for car trouble.It opens with the case reported in the June 20th, 2008 edition of the Ukrainian newspaper Facts, in which 34-year-old Vladimir Voronezhskiy and his 29-year-old wife Olga described being taken aboard a disc-shaped craft outside their home in the early hours of the morning. The evening began when their daughters Vanessa and Angelica came back from a nearby shop describing a "flying star", then drew matching sketches of a round object flashing white, yellow and red. Olga and Vladimir went outside and watched an object hovering over a distant river, and Olga's mobile phone captured only a blurred yellow smear. Around 2 am the bedroom filled with white light, the roof appeared to turn transparent, and the couple ran outside to find a disc hanging roughly 350 feet from the house. Olga rose into the air in a spiraling motion while Vladimir grabbed for her leg and missed, and the two of them found themselves inside a bare room with glass-like walls, surrounded by three-foot entities with gray skin, oversized heads and three fingers on each hand, moving without visible legs in the manner of a caterpillar. Olga was placed in a medical chair and watched the entities open an incision across her abdomen with instruments she had never seen before, feeling no pain, then close it so completely that no scar remained; Vladimir, held back by what felt like an invisible wall, was paralyzed by four metal rods laid on his chest after he struggled, and a voice entered his head promising he would be home soon. A taller figure, roughly five feet tall with its face fully covered, told him only that the procedures "had to be done". The couple were then seated in front of transparent walls where the sun looked like a diffused spot of light and the Earth appeared no bigger than a tennis ball, taken down to a world where the inhabitants lived in open pits below the surface, and told that humans and cattle alike had been brought to Earth from another planet. Vladimir refused repeated attempts to make him copulate with a female entity, even after it took the form of a beautiful human woman, and the conversation turned instead to human emotion and why our species has not yet destroyed itself. UFO researcher Yuriy Stepanov later placed Vladimir under hypnotic regression, which produced detailed sketches of the craft and its occupants along with the claim that a plasma field surrounding the ship rendered it invisible to the eye and undetectable on radar. Medical examination of the family turned up no implants, though Vladimir's gray hair regained its color, Olga's lifelong stomach pain never came back, and she claimed she could sober up a drunk person by resting a hand on his forehead for two minutes. Their neighbors mocked them for all of it.From there the episode backs up to the June 9th, 2006 edition of the same newspaper, which reported that residents across Mariupol spent an evening watching six disc-shaped objects over the city and jammed the phone lines of local papers with calls, while the Ukrainian Air Force and air traffic control at Mariupol Airport both said their radar showed nothing unusual; the next morning a watchman named Nikolay Trinitsyn counted around twenty fast-flying lighted spheres over an industrial district in full daylight, visible to his coworkers for about ten minutes before they were gone. Older encounters follow. In the summer of 1952, according to an account in Interesting Newspaper, a boy named Ivan Sergeevich was left alone at a campfire with an elderly woman after a sudden violent wind scattered the group's horses, and three helmeted figures about six feet tall walked out of a bright domed object rising from the woods, halted twice by handfuls of powder the woman threw into the fire to make it crackle. Around the same season in Belgorod-Dnestrovskiy, Komsomolskaya Pravda documented an insomniac watching five horned figures in his neighbor's yard, followed the next day by an apple tree stripped bare, part of a run of horned-creature sightings and vanishing food near a fortress that local legend says sits atop a network of secret tunnels used by creatures living underground and, in other tellings, by survivors of a UFO crash. Anton Anfalov of the Yaroslavl UFO Group recorded a three-day encounter in Zhdanivka in August of 1953, where Lina Ivanovna Kravets watched a silver globe descend behind the houses and a neighbor found three figures in dark overalls, gloves and helmets cutting fruit-laden branches from apple, plum and cherry trees while carrying wheat, rye and transparent tubes holding a frog, a lizard and a fish; in broken Russian they told her they had flown from up there, that they were searching for a lost scout ship they feared humans had destroyed, that Earth's wars affected natural disasters on their own world, and they offered her a piece of their bread before leaving. The segment ends with the 1971 Odesa catacombs account published in The Secret Doctrine, in which a young woman named Masha followed the sound of a child crying down a side passage, was struck from behind and disappeared for three days, later gave birth to a son with a large head, small mouth and outsized eyes who read academic material as a child, and who vanished in those same catacombs in the late 1990s and was never found.The final stretch runs through four more abduction reports and into the present day. Outside Chernivtsi in the early hours of January 8th, 1976, a glass-factory truck driver identified only as Nikolay N was woken by knocking on his cab window by three men who said their car had broken down, and was led instead to an upright cylinder with a glowing dome, blacked out on board, woke on a table wired with cables and devices, and was told he was at his hosts' base on the moon before being suited up and taken by elevator to the surface, where he could see the Earth's cloud cover; years later a man stopped him on the street and asked how his trip to the moon had been. On the night of April 17th into the 18th of 1982 in Simferopol, Crimea, researchers Vladimir A Borominskiy and Vladimir A Belozyerov of the Simferopol UFO Research Group documented electrician Yuriy Vasilievich Zbroy watching a shape push through his bedroom wall, touching it, feeling himself become magnetized, and then facing three creatures that emerged from a saucer the size of a toy and grew as they approached before telling him telepathically that they intended to take sperm for a hybridization program. In June of 1989 near Kharkiv, the Kirov UFO Group reported Ivan Rybchenko stopping his car for a descending luminous spot, stepping through two doors that opened in its side, being placed in a box lined with soft material, and waking to a tearing pain in his left hand before viewing an alien world dotted with communication towers and a base he was told ran automatically, without crew. In February of 1990, in an account from Gennadiy Ya Leszshenko's book At The Edge of the Unknown or What is Behind the Curtain, relayed by veteran researcher Albert Rosales, 68-year-old Ivan Nikanorovich went outside to quiet his barking dogs in the Donetsk region and was confronted by three figures around ten feet tall whose outer suits peeled away by themselves once aboard, and who flew him past planets before returning him home so ill he could not eat for three days. Sightings have not stopped: a white triangular craft with no wings, windows or markings was filmed over the country in August of 2019 and attributed by some to the rumored American TR-3B, two metallic objects roughly the size of a small van were filmed over Odesa in February of 2022, and on March 1st of that year a disc-shaped object was recorded from an apartment window in an area under shelling, hanging in the distance while the explosions went off below it.

In July of 1972, in the river town of Louisiana, Missouri, two little boys were playing in their backyard at the foot of Marzolf Hill when their older sister heard them start screaming. Fifteen-year-old Doris Harrison went to the bathroom window and saw something standing by a tree, six or seven feet tall, covered in black hair, with no face she could make out and something dead tucked under its arm. The town laughed at those kids for about a day and a half.Then a Pentecostal congregation of roughly fifty people heard something come down off that hill, and nobody in Pike County thought it was funny for the rest of the month.This is stop number twenty-five on the Backwoods Cryptid Road Trip, the halfway point, and it's the story of Momo, the Missouri Monster.We walk through the whole flap as it actually happened, from the picnic encounter on Highway 79 in 1971 to the Harrison sighting on July 11, 1972, to Edgar Harrison hanging bait on a tree behind his own house and sitting out in the dark waiting for whatever took his children's afternoon away from them. We cover the sick dog, the smell that runs through every account like a thread, the church meeting on the night of July 14, and Police Chief Shelby Ward putting two dozen armed men across Marzolf Hill three times and finding nothing at all.We get into the plaster casts, the three-toed track that a zoo director in Oklahoma City looked at and called a hoax, and the out-of-state investigators who camped in a family's backyard and left with a theory about flying objects that did more damage to this case than any skeptic ever managed. A fly fishing guide snapped a photo of the nationally endangered reptile in the Korowai Torlesse Tussocklands Park and Castle Hill area, about an hour from Christchurch. Ecologist and reptile scientist Marieke Lettink spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.

Brian sits down with Doug from Washington State, a lifelong resident of Pend Oreille County in the far northeastern corner of the state, for a conversation that starts with one winter night on a county road and opens out into thirty years of reports from the same block of mountains.Doug and his wife were driving home from her job after dark, deep in the middle of winter, when something crossed in front of them in two strides. Not walking. Running, hunched forward the way a man runs when he's moving as hard as he can. Doug puts it at eight feet tall and somewhere around six or seven hundred pounds, covered head to toe in dark gray hair, moving through three and a half to four feet of snow at a speed no person on snowshoes could match. He went home and got an ax and intended to go back out after it, and his wife talked him out of it, which he now concedes was the better reasoning of the two of them.What follows is the kind of interview I like best, because Doug isn't selling anything. He was aware of the subject before it happened to him, he'd seen the Patterson-Gimlin film, and he still describes himself as somebody who simply hadn't seen it for himself yet. He talks about his great uncle Lou, a World War One veteran who worked the woods as a surveyor and spent time in the Civilian Conservation Corps camps during the Depression, and who called the thing he and his wife ran into out huckleberry picking the Skookum Man, and who got shut down by his wife Alsa before he could tell the boys any more about it.He talks about the military survival trainer who came into his family's bar and mentioned the instruction given to men training above Cusick, Washington, near Tacoma Creek, which was not to engage bipedal creatures in the woods. He talks about why he thinks these things are seen crossing roads so often when they're otherwise almost impossible to find, why he lands on a single species rather than five or six subspecies, and why he thinks the strangeness that clings to this subject may say more about our own government than it does about the animal. He also brings the Vietnam rock ape accounts he heard from his brothers and their Marine friends, and his answer to skeptics, which is that being skeptical is perfectly fine and he isn't going to beg anybody for anything.Partway through, I stop the interview and take a long detour, because Doug mentioned sightings up around Sullivan Lake and Priest Lake and I'd spent the previous few weeks going through the actual case files out of that country. What's on the record there is more substantial than most people realize A woman kayaking on Sullivan Lake in August of two thousand two who floated within fifteen yards of what she first took for a very tall old man in gray, sitting on a stump with his legs crossed and his hands folded over his knee, and who learned that evening that her niece had seen the same thing from her own boat. Two fishermen four months earlier on the south end of that same lake, run out of their tent at night by crashes, a musty smell, and a gray shape seven to nine feet tall through the mesh window.Two bear hunters northwest of Ione in September of nineteen ninety-eight who found three sets of tracks traveling together at eighteen inches, fifteen to sixteen inches, and thirteen inches, and who made a cast so poor the man freely admitted he had no idea what he was doing. A motorist outside Ione in nineteen ninety-one who stopped his car for something in the headlights and then wrote, in his own report, that he never said he saw Bigfoot, only that he saw something strange on the road and doesn't know what it was.Then the interlude crosses the state line, because the line is a survey mark and nothing more. Priest Lake sits in Bonner County, Idaho, which carries more reports than any other county in that state, and between the two lakes is the Salmo-Priest Wilderness and the Selkirk Mountains, grizzly country, some of the least broken forest left in the lower forty-eight, running unbroken north into Canada. Three backpackers woken at midnight in August of two thousand twenty by three loud bounces they later matched at daylight by throwing a four-foot log. A woodcutter east of Nordman in October of nineteen eighty who watched something slide down a five-foot embankment on its feet, walk alongside his moving pickup within arm's reach, look both ways before crossing in front of him, and reach a hand toward his hood, and who sat on that story for twenty-eight years. A fisherman on the Upper Priest River in two thousand sixteen, armed, who says he was too scared to move. Fred from the Subarctic Alaska Sasquatch is back with a disturbing report of increased activity across the Kenai Peninsula before turning to a recent encounter involving Marty and her grandson, Doug, near Alaska's remote McCarthy Road.The trouble began when electrical problems forced their RV off the dirt road near an old single-lane bridge dating back to 1910. While Marty remained inside the vehicle, Doug walked toward the bridge to record the scenery with his new iPhone. The forest suddenly went completely silent. Moments later, an explosive scream tore through the valley with enough force to make Doug drop the phone into a steep ravine.Looking toward a nearby bluff, Doug spotted an enormous humanoid figure standing above the road. He estimated it was more than ten feet tall.As the figure began moving in the direction of the stranded RV, Doug rushed back to warn his grandmother.Marty had already begun hearing pebbles and larger rocks striking the outside of the camper. Overcome by an intense sense of danger, she looked outside and saw a massive dark figure near the vehicle.Fearing it was preparing to attack, she loaded a shotgun and waited inside while the impacts continued. A local family eventually arrived and confirmed that they had also seen what they believed was a Bigfoot. As they attempted to help Marty and Doug leave the area, rocks were thrown into the bed of their truck.During the escape, Marty caught another glimpse of the figure shaking trees and unleashing powerful vocalizations from the timber.
