In 2012, six years after 21-year-old college student Nina Ingram was strangled at her apartment in Fayetteville, there was an arrest and a man named Rico Cohn was charged with Nina’s murder. But after a key witness died suddenly, the criminal case against Rico was dismissed. His legal team filed a CIVIL LAWSUIT against the Fayetteville Police Department, suing several officers who worked on his case as well employees as the Arkansas State Crime Lab. They alleged that the case against Rico Cohn was weak, basically nonexistent - that there was no physical evidence against Rico Cohn and that the witness, Randee Applewhite, told them that she was NOT at all sure that Rico had committed the crime. Eventually, the lawsuit was voluntarily dismissed. And the ENTIRE case against Rico Cohn was sealed by a judge. Now as we said last week the lawsuit is obviously only one side of the story. But there are a lot of details in the civil lawsuit about investigations that were done by Rico’s attorneys for both the civil and criminal lawsuits - and about leads that the Fayetteville Police Department allegedly failed to follow up on. One of them was a person described as Person of Interest B - who, from reading through the events of the case file, appeared to match the description of Jarvis Allan Harper, a man who worked with Nina Ingram at the Sixth Street Walmart at the time she was murdered. So we went back and tried to figure out how did Jarvis's name first come to the attention of the Fayetteville Police Department and if there were other leads that should have been investigated. Timestamp to get straight to the case: (5:38) In 2008, Irish man Jason Corbett placed an ad for an au-pair to assist him in raising his two young children Sarah and Jack.  Jason's first wife Margaret had passed suddenly in 2006, leaving him widowed with two small children. American woman Molly Martens answered the ad.  She moved from her Tennessee home to Limerick, Ireland to live with the Corbett family.  Molly and Jason fell in love and decided to move back to America to get married and settle.   Their marriage soon soured - Jason was resistant to Molly adopting his children.  Molly would regularly make comments about Jason's weight. One night in August 2015, Molly's father Tom was staying with the family in the Corbett home.  He called 911 and reported that there had been an altercation at the home and he had acted in self-defense.   When authorities arrived, Jason was pronounced dead. In 2017, Molly and Tom ended up being convicted of Jason's murder. In 2023, they both took plea deals in the case and were resentenced.   They were freed from prison in 2024. There were cases that were closed out with someone being held accountable for their actions and then there are cases that have fallen by the wayside. These cases have gone cold. But as we look back we must consider the possibility that one or more serial offenders operated in this area and went undetected. This week we take a look at the homicide case of Sierah Joughin. He made billions of dollars worth of trade agreements benefitting America. But, each of these countries and leaders have a ‘mixed bag' ofpositive and negative relations with the U.S. For example, Trump made lucrative deals with Saudi Arabia and even  arranged for an Arabian leopard to be exhibited at an American zoo, while victims of 9/11 are still pursuing a lawsuit against the Saudis for their role in this attack. Trump made similar gains in Qatar. As an ally, they continue to  host our troops at the Al Udeid Air base; but, as an enemy, they also host the leaders of Hamas. The United Arab Emirates has a more positive history, in that it signed the Abraham Accords, which Trump has continued to try to convince these other leaders to sign. You will hear about the risks and benefits at each of the stops on his itinerary. The Prophet Muhammad said, “War is deceit.” So, can we trust these countries? Is Qatar's gift of a flying palace for Air Force 1 a Trojan horse and a risk to Trump's life? I hope not. These are risky times, but Trump is nonetheless working hard to fulfill his promises to bring about world peace.

In a dramatic pretrial maneuver, Bryan Kohberger's defense team has introduced an "alternate perpetrator" theory in the 2022 University of Idaho student murders case. During a recent court hearing, Judge Steven Hippler acknowledged the defense's proposal but emphasized the need for concrete evidence to support such a claim. The defense has been given until May 23 to present admissible evidence identifying the alleged alternate suspect. Currently, the details of this theory remain sealed pending the judge's decision on its admissibility .Legal experts view this strategy as a high-risk attempt to introduce reasonable doubt, especially given the substantial evidence against Kohberger, including DNA found on a knife sheath at the crime scene and surveillance footage of his vehicle near the victims' residence.
