NCLA submitted comments urging the U.S. Department of Education to abandon its latest proposed rule that would unconstitutionally cancel $147 billion of federal student loan debt owed to the Treasury by an estimated 27.6 million borrowers. The plan even proposes to bestow about $19 billion of that on about 750,000 student loan debtors whose average annual household income exceeds $300,000! Outrageously, that sum means American taxpayers would give more than $25,000 apiece to debtor households making over $300,000 per year. Congress has repeatedly declined to erase such debt, and the Department of Education lacks legal authority to do so unilaterally. NCLA calls for an end to this latest Biden Administration attempt at subverting the rule of law to erase student loan debt.NCLA's Sheng Li joins Mark, Vec and Jenin to discuss the comments.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Undeniably, the online community is abuzz following the conviction of a 71-year-old grandmother whose involvement in the January 6 happenings at the U.S. Capitol Building appears to be negligible. The Epoch Times highlighted the story of Rebecca Lavrenz, a senior citizen found guilty for minor participation on that fateful day. Video evidence suggested she was merely wandering inside the Capitol, speaking to an officer, and subsequently leaving the area. Despite engaging in no apparent violence or destruction, she was found guilty on four criminal charges, much to the dismay of observers. The elderly woman, evidently a person of faith, was observed to have offered some prayers while inside the iconic building. This particular aspect of her involvement has significantly agitated individuals who view the Biden Justice Department's pursuit of her case as excessive. A penalty of a year in prison and up to $200,000 in fines awaits Lavrenz, with the sentencing scheduled for August 12. Outrageously, the severity of these potential penalties stands in stark contrast to the woman's peaceful behavior during the event, raising fundamental questions about the direction our justice system is heading under the current administration. According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Lavrenz voluntarily provided pictures of herself at the Capitol to investigators. As part of her testimony, she confessed to having journeyed to Washington, D.C., specifically on January 6 to participate in the 'Stop the Steal' rally. She went on to admit that she veered towards the U.S. Capitol building, simply following the throng of people there.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The For & Against team have seen a few summers of sport - perhaps too many, but still never enough. And every summer, we see challenges to the status quo: basketball on Christmas Day, shorter then longer then shorter BBL seasons, the eternal optimism that football will take over riding the wave of the miraculous Matildas or a shift in broadcast rights that promises to redefine summer sport. But is summer sport reinventing itself? Or is it a case of the more things change, the more they stay the same? The FANDA team are here to break it down and put it back together again in ways you never thought of! And then it's a trip down memory lane as we assess The Guardian's top Australian sports moments and determine what achievements are eternal and which might be bright and shiny with a recency bias. Outrageously not mentioned is a three-peat Australian world champion…thank goodness we were here! And hang around to the end, when Red Card Yellow Card, which shines the spotlight on sport and sportspeople behaving badly, features some outrageous electric pulses, late night over partying and mindless misogyny. We hope you enjoy this episode of For & Against.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

So much STUFF game out in 2023 - we had Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a new Baldur's Gate, a Skyrim sequel which introduced such innovations to the series as: Guns and Boring. Starfield, I'm talking about. And you knew that, but I have to spell it out in the body text because a certain tech giant has taken wordplay, nuance, and creativity out onto the back porch and shot them all in the head as a sacrifice to the god of Endless Growth. Which doesn't exist. The god, or the concept. Heh! We even got a sequel to Dead Island (it was called Dead Island 2). Some of the very best games frankly of all time came out last year. Outrageously, though, many of them came and went with minimal fanfare, because within DAYS of their release, the news and hype cycle was onto the next thing. Whether that was yet another huge, record-breaking franchise entry or a team getting laid off after having made one. Yes, for the games industry, last year ruled and sucked in equal measure. It truly was the best of times and the worst of times. Anyway, the point is, there were so many amazing games coming out last year that you've forgotten most of them. And of those games you forgot, which is the best? Let's find out by asking our panel, Rebecca Jones, Connor Makar, and Alex Donaldson. They're experts, they like video games for a living. The capacity of a neural network to absorb information is limited by its number of parameters. Conditional computation, where parts of the network are active on a per-example basis, has been proposed in theory as a way of dramatically increasing model capacity without a proportional increase in computation. In practice, however, there are significant algorithmic and performance challenges. In this work, we address these challenges and finally realize the promise of conditional computation, achieving greater than 1000x improvements in model capacity with only minor losses in computational efficiency on modern GPU clusters. We introduce a Sparsely-Gated Mixture-of-Experts layer (MoE), consisting of up to thousands of feed-forward sub-networks. A trainable gating network determines a sparse combination of these experts to use for each example. We apply the MoE to the tasks of language modeling and machine translation, where model capacity is critical for absorbing the vast quantities of knowledge available in the training corpora. We present model architectures in which a MoE with up to 137 billion parameters is applied convolutionally between stacked LSTM layers. On large language modeling and machine translation benchmarks, these models achieve significantly better results than state-of-the-art at lower computational cost. 2017: Noam M. Suffering from early career burnout? This is something that many overworked SLPs are suffering from, and private practice may be the answer. In this episode of Private Practice Success Stories, Laura and Adrianne share how they started their private practices after overcoming burnout. They both share where they get their referrals from, what types of clients they see, and whether they are generalists or specializing in certain populations. If you've been thinking about starting a private practice and want to see how other folks are doing it, this episode is for you! Laura and Adrianne are the hosts of The SLP Book Club podcast. Each month, they carefully select amazing books that speech therapists might not have the time to read and discuss them on their podcast chapter by chapter. They create and post free resources to accompany the books, allowing SLPs to immediately use the information they've learned with their caseloads.Laura began her career in public schools, working as a contracted employee in a very large school district for six years. Outrageously high caseload numbers and unrealistic expectations led to complete burnout in her fourth year. A switch to part-time proved to be more manageable, but she ultimately decided to open her private practice in 2021 after discovering the Start Your Private Practice course. Her private practice, Springboard Speech Therapy, provides support to preschoolers who stutter and their families in the Los Angeles area. In addition to seeing clients in their homes, Laura creates digital and printable materials for other speech therapists in her TPT store, Laura G SLP.Adrianne has spent much of her career working in public schools with grades K-12. She enjoys helping children as both an in-person therapist and a teletherapist. In 2021 she opened her private speech therapy practice, Say Hello Speech Therapy, in Orange County, California. She has a special interest in articulation/speech sound disorders and is extensively trained in UCLA's PEERS program for both teens and young adults. She is especially enthusiastic about empowering parents to be the best advocates and speech coaches possible for their children. Adrianne currently balances motherhood, working full-time as a teletherapist, hosting a podcast, and seeing private practice clients. In Today's Episode, We Discuss:How the Start program helped Adrianne and Laura start the private practices they dreamed ofHow specializing helps clients come to youThe job satisfaction private practice can bringHow empowering it can be to own your own private practiceThe power of parent coaching and home connection Running your private practice from home and setting your caseload sizesThe freedom you get as a private practice ownerThe truth about burnout among SLPsHow Laura and Adrianne are finding their clientsI hope you enjoyed this episode with Laura and Adrianne! Private practice is all about taking back that control. They didn't switch careers. They just switched to a new job setting- their own, where they are the boss. They set their schedules and their rates and decide which clients to see and how many to see. They literally set their own caseload caps and I'd love to see it!Make sure to check out their podcast, follow them on Instagram, and join their Facebook group! What does it take to live a life you'll be outrageously proud of when you die? That's really the question at the heart of this podcast, and this episode is part two of a two-part series aimed at providing a trustworthy answer to that question. Through my own life experience, conversations with guests on this show, 1-1 coaching partnerships, and The Graveyard Group, I've identified six essential ingredients in the recipe for a life we'll be outrageously proud of when we die. I call them the Big 6. Other ingredients are important and useful, for sure, but none appear to me to be as important as these six. Without them, the recipe simply doesn't work. In the previous episode, I introduced you to the first three of the Big 6, Courage, Humility, and Truth-telling. In this episode, I'll introduce you to the second three, Self-permission, Self-responsibility, and Self-knowledge. There is a logic to the order of the ingredients in this recipe. They build on one another, and each one depends upon the others that precede it. If you haven't listened to the previous episode yet and you have an additional 8 minutes to spare right now, I recommend tuning in to that episode first before listening to this one. The Fourth Ingredient: Self-Permission The fourth essential ingredient in the recipe for a life you'll be outrageously proud of is Self-permission. Self-permission is ownership of the reality that I can do what I want, when I want, how I want, where I want, with whom I want. It is a permission granted to us simply by virtue of our arrival at chronological adulthood, but many chronological adults remain emotional and psychological juveniles because they fail to fully grant themselves this permission. Instead, their thoughts and actions remain heavily and unduly influenced by others, by worn-out worldviews inherited from their family of origin, and by a myriad of other external sources of permission. They remain dependent upon external sources of permission to determine what they think and how they conduct themselves in the world. Self-permission can be used for good or evil, and everything in between. It isn't a license to run amok. Nor does it mean tuning out the input of others; it is wise to seek and learn from the counsel and examples of others. Rather, the proper expression of Self-permission simply frees us from dependence upon external sources of permission in order to think and act. Let me say that again: The proper expression of Self-permission simply frees us from dependence upon external sources of permission in order to think and act. It also puts the consequences of our thoughts and actions squarely at our feet, a topic we'll delve into next when we discuss Self-responsibility. Failure to take full ownership of Self-permission relegates us to living at least in part according to the will and permissions of others. This limits our ability to become the person we were uniquely made to be and live the life we were uniquely made to live because our Path and Purpose are co-opted by others' will and wishes. Successfully taking full ownership of Self-permission, however, sets us free to discover who and what we really are and who and what we really can become. We are able to make our unique contribution to the world. Courage, Humility, and Truth-telling are prerequisites for Self-permission. Remember, as an adult, you really can do what you want, when you want, how you want, where you want, with whom you want. Use the privilege well. Tune into Ep. 022, entitled Tune Out to Tune In: Hearing & Heeding Your Inner Voice in a World Full of Noise, to learn how your inner voice can help you add more Self-permission in your own life. How fully have you embraced Self-permission? In what area of your life can you exercise even more Self-permission? The Fifth Ingredient: Self-responsibility The fifth Big 6 ingredient is Self-responsibility. Self-responsibility is complete ownership of our thoughts, words, and actions and the consequences that result from them. It is “extreme ownership,” to borrow Jocko Willink's phrase from his book by the same name. It is the antidote to the insidious and destructive force of victimhood and just about every other manifestation of human dysfunction imaginable. When we are Self-responsible, we exhibit a willingness to acknowledge and make amends for mistakes. We choose to be solution-focused rather than problem- or blame-focused. We acknowledge that we always have a choice. We point the finger at ourselves first. Self-responsibility helps us distinguish between what we can and can't control. It allows us to forge interdependent rather than dependent or co-dependent bonds in relationships because we're able to establish and maintain healthier boundaries. We neither assume too little or too much responsibility for others. We are 100% responsible for ourselves and appropriately responsible for others. Courage, Humility, Truth-telling, and Self-permission are all prerequisites of Self-responsibility. Tune in to Ep. 019, The Cockpit is Yours: From Passenger to Pilot, for more on this topic. How have you demonstrated Self-responsibility recently? In what area of your life is more Self-responsibility needed? The Sixth Ingredient: Self-knowledge The sixth and final essential ingredient in the recipe for a life you'll be outrageously proud of when you die is Self-knowledge. Self-knowledge is an ever-evolving understanding about the kind of human you are–your Nature—and the influence of your Story–or Nurture–upon the person you've become. Together, Nature and Nurture help us discover the person we were made to be and the life we were made to live. Self-knowledge is made up of both quantitative and qualitative data and information. It is both objectively- and subjectively-derived. Professional assessments and inventories like those that I use with my clients, our own experience, and counsel and feedback from friends, family, mentors, coaches, and mental health professionals are valuable sources of Self-knowledge. Our pursuit of Self-knowledge depends upon increasing measures of Courage, Humility, Truth-telling, Self-permission, and Self-responsibility. In turn, the Self-knowledge that we gain helps us deploy Courage, Humility, Truth-telling, Self-permission, and Self-responsibility even more effectively. Deeper Self-knowledge leads to a more enjoyable, meaningful, and productive life. Though its fruits are personally rewarding, we ultimately pursue Self-knowledge in order to better understand how we are uniquely equipped to serve humankind. Tune in to Ep. 035 of Andrew Petty is Dying, Build Your Personal Owner's Manual: Understand Yourself Better, Enjoy Yourself More, and Live the Life You were Made to Live, for more on this topic. How have you deepened your Self-knowledge recently? In what area of your life is more Self-knowledge needed? Perfecting the Recipe: Just Add More There you have it–the 6 essential ingredients in the recipe for a life you'll be outrageously proud of when you die. The instructions in this recipe are simple: Just keep adding more. More cups of Courage. Heaps more Humility. Tons more Truth-telling. More generous scoops of Self-permission, Self-responsibility, and Self-Knowledge. With this recipe, more is always better. Each time you add just a little more, you're investing in a life you'll be outrageously proud of when you die. Which ingredient can you begin adding more of today? Because remember: You ARE going to die. But you're not dead yet. So get after it! What does it take to live a life you'll be outrageously proud of when you die? That's really the question at the heart of this podcast. Together, we're cultivating the mindset and acquiring the means to answer this question. The Mortality Mindset breaks us free of the Status Quo's gravitational pull and motivates us to give the things that matter most the attention they deserve now, before it's too late. The insights and tools we've assembled along the way are the means by which we put the Mortality Mindset to work in the real world. Here's another way to look at it: The means we're acquiring are like ingredients in a recipe, and the Mortality Mindset is the heat we apply to those ingredients in order to produce the desired result. In this episode, I'll introduce you to the first three of the Big 6, Courage, Humility, and Truth-telling. Tune in to the next episode for the second three, Self-permission, Self-responsibility, and Self-knowledge. Ingredient 1: Courage The first essential ingredient in the recipe for a life you'll be outrageously proud of is Courage. Courage is the sovereign choice to be brave in response to fear. It is first among the Big 6 because none of the other Big 6 ingredients are possible without it. In fact, it's difficult to think of a single admirable personal quality or act that doesn't have Courage as its foundation. Courage is not something you have to go find. It's something you choose to summon right here and now in order to take the very next step forward. We demonstrate courage when we choose to have the hard conversation, get out of bed when it would be easier to hide away, and take on a new challenge. Consistently summoning Courage makes once-feared things seem trivial. The antidote to fear is not becoming less afraid. It's getting more brave. So if you're scared, practice being brave. Over time, as your consistent choice to summon courage expands the frontiers upon which you're capable of operating in the world, the Frontier becomes your playground. Courage is also contagious; the more we practice it, the more it inspires others to do the same. Tune in to Ep. 005, How to Become the Boss of Your Fear: Bravery-building to Live With More Guts and Gusto, for more on Courage, the first ingredient in the recipe for a life you'll be outrageously proud of when you die. How have you summoned Courage recently? In what area of your life is more Courage needed? Ingredient 2: Humility The second Big 6 ingredient is Humility. Humility is fueled by Courage. Humility is the courageous willingness to acknowledge our ignorance, deficiencies, and mistakes and move forward anyway. Humility is a courageous attitude of the heart that welcomes truth no matter how hard it might be to receive. It continually verifies our perception of ourselves and the world against the feedback that others offer us. It is the “sober judgment” of oneself commended in the book of Romans. It is essential for learning and growth. We demonstrate humility when we ask the question that no one else is asking, despite our fear that others will think it's dumb. We demonstrate humility when we confess our wrongdoing and ask for forgiveness. We demonstrate humility when we submit to the guidance and instruction of someone wiser than us. We demonstrate humility when we can acknowledge both our strengths and our weaknesses without any inflation or deflation of who we are. How have you demonstrated Humility recently? In what area of your life is more Humility needed? Ingredient 3: Truth-telling The third Big 6 ingredient is Truth-telling. Truth-telling is fueled by Courage and Humility. Truth-telling is accurately defining reality–first for ourselves and then for others. Often, the only thing harder than telling others the truth is telling it to ourselves. It requires us to acknowledge who and where we actually are vs. who and where we'd like to be or think we should be. Often, it highlights difficult actions that we need to take. Life can feel easier in the short-term when we don't tell the truth, but the degree to which we fail to tell the truth will be the degree to which our relationships with ourselves and others are based on lies. The short-term costs we incur for telling the truth pale in comparison to the long-term costs we incur for living by deception. Very few of us set out to intentionally lie to ourselves and others. But we encounter significant internal and external obstacles to Truth-telling every day, and we're not even aware of many of them. For example, if we grew up in a family that only approves of certain professions, we may find it very difficult to acknowledge the truth that we're not well-suited to any of them. There could be big relational costs associated with telling the truth. Remember that there are big costs associated with not telling the truth, too. A classic example is the middle-aged man who realizes one day with dismay that his corner office and high-paying position were someone else's dream, not his, but he wasn't willing to acknowledge the truth when it tugged at him along the way. When we tell the truth, our starting point corresponds with reality and serves as a reliable point from which to move forward. If we don't tell the truth, though, our starting point doesn't correspond with reality, and our navigation forward will lead to destinations for which we're not intended. My coach, the one-and-only Amy K., gave me a great tool for getting better at Truth-telling. Whenever you're finding it difficult to accurately define reality in a specific situation, finish the sentence, “The truth is, …” as honestly as you can. For example, “The Truth is, I feel scared about this opportunity even though I feel like I'm supposed to be excited about it.” How have you told the truth recently? In what area of your life is more Truth-telling needed? It's a Simple Recipe: Just Add More I don't enjoy cooking, so this whole recipe metaphor is a stretch for me. For me, the simpler the recipe, the better. Whether you enjoy cooking or not, though, I have good news: The instructions in the recipe for living a life you'll be outrageously proud of are simple: Just keep adding more. More cups of Courage. Heaps more Humility. Tons more Truth-telling. You get the idea. With this recipe, more is always better. So, resolve to summon more Courage, risk more Humility, and practice more Truth-telling. Each time you add just a little more, you're investing in a life you'll be outrageously proud of when you die. I'll introduce you to the other three Big 6 ingredients–Self-permission, Self-responsibility, and Self-knowledge–in the next episode. In the meantime, remember: You ARE going to die. But you're not dead yet. So get after it! It's Friday, March 3rd, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) State Dept. urges Burmese military to release Christian leader On February 23rd, the U.S. government condemned the Myanmar military's arrest and detention of Baptist leader Hkalam Samson, reports International Christian Concern. Samson is the former head of the Kachin Baptist Convention, a group located in northern Myanmar's Kachin state that represents much of the nation's Christian minority. He was detained in December 2022 by authorities under the military junta that seized power two years ago. State Department spokesman Ned Price issued this challenge. PRICE: “We condemn the Burma military regime's arrest and detention of prominent ethnic Kachin Christian leader Rev. [Hkalam] Samson. We are extremely concerned for his wellbeing and safety and encourage our partners and allies to join us in calling on the regime to drop all charges and immediately and unconditionally release Rev. Samson.” Pastor arrested for objecting to children's drag queen story hour Yesterday afternoon, Pastor Derek Reimer was arrested by members of the dictatorial Calgary Police Service after being warned the previous day there were two warrants out for his arrest because he protested at a children's drag queen story time at a public library last weekend, reports LifeSiteNews.com. A video, posted online by Rebel News, shows Reimer, who serves as the pastor of Mission7 street ministry, being put into the back of a police cruiser by two female officers. Tucker Carlson of Fox News described the scene that had been videotaped by Rebel News, one of the few conservative Canadian outlets. CARLSON: “The pastor, sitting in a car with bars on the windows, getting hauled away to jail for being thrown to the ground at Drag Queen Story Hour.” Before the Canadian policewoman raised the rear window of the cop car in which Reimer was detained, he said, “This is what happens when we go against the drag queens.” She was able to cut off the last word of his sentence. (Watch this video between 1:28 and 1:37.) Listen. REIMER: “This is what happens when you go against drag [queens.]” This past Saturday, Reimer had been protesting at a kids' Drag Queen Story Time event held at the Seton Calgary public library. Outrageously, the pastor was ruffed up and thrown to the ground for simply verbally opposing the sexualization of children at taxpayers' expense. Ezra Levant, Founder of Rebel News, appeared with Tucker Carlson on Fox News. LEVANT: “Tucker, you have done more journalism on Christian pastors being jailed in Canada than most Canadian media. In fact, the Canadian media either ignore it or cheer it on, calling these people bigots.” He explained who inspired the arrest of Pastor Reimer. LEVANT: “The Left wing mayor of Calgary, [Jyoti Gondek], went on a Twitter rant saying that anyone who lies or engages in vitriol or is full of hate should be arrested and charged. Now, those aren't crimes, by the way. Some of them are a matter of opinion. I could think that the mayor is full of hate. But after the mayor basically directed police to arrest peaceful protesters, they did.” Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil." You can send a polite email of objection to Calgary Mayor Gondek through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. If you'd like to help with the legal expenses of getting Pastor Derek Reimer out of jail after being falsely arrested, you can make a donation at SavePastorDerek.com. Plus, you can encourage Pastor Reimer with a 1-2 sentence email. derek@mission7ministries.com (7 is the number) Christian host Todd Starnes calls for Biden's impeachment As the Conservative Political Action Conference got underway yesterday in Fort Washington, Maryland, Christian talk show host Todd Starnes, in a sit-down conversation on stage with Republican Congressman Ralph Norman of South Carolina, called for the impeachment of President Joe Biden. STARNES: “I know that Speaker McCarthy said a couple of months back that he's seen nothing that Biden's done that would be worthy of impeachment. But it seems violating the oath of office and not protecting this nation from enemies foreign and domestic, letting that balloon invade our airspace, that is worthy of impeachment.” Lesbian Chicago mayor defeated Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who made headlines a couple of years ago when she became the first black woman and first homosexual to lead the Windy City, has lost reelection, reports The Christian Post. She entered into a faux marriage with Amy Eshelman in 2015 when it was first possible to do so. On Tuesday, Lightfoot came in third place, finishing behind long-serving public school official Paul Vallas and Cook County Commissioner Brandon Johnson. Vallas, who ran on a staunchly pro-police platform, and Johnson, who had strong backing from liberals and labor unions, will square off in a runoff mayoral election on April 4. FCA ships $1 million of sports equipment to Ukrainian coaches and athletes And finally, Fellowship of Christian Athletes is partnering with Convoy of Hope to send a full shipping container which includes 40 pallets of sports equipment to Ukraine. The total value of the materials is over $1 million. Sasha Aleksandrov, FCA Ukraine Director, said, “Because of the war, sports equipment has been destroyed or abandoned.” Hundreds of FCA staff, volunteers, and donors came together from across America to donate new and used equipment for Ukrainian coaches and athletes. Andriy Kravtsov said, “My heart is full of joy because I see the goodness of God through faithful and generous people.” Acts 20:35 says, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, March 3rd, in the year of our Lord 2023. Transcript:Hello, this is Pastor Don Willeman of Christ Redeemer Church. Welcome to The Kingdom Perspective. At times of civil unrest and deep cultural division, people tend to be on edge. They feel threatened and under attack. They assume a lot about their opponents and tend to attribute evil motives. Every little gesture, every little word, is scrutinized in the most negative light. Now, in such an environment, Christians are called not to return fire but to turn the other cheek. We are called to be “shock absorbers”. In the words of the New Testament book of James, we are to follow the “wisdom from above” which is “peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy…impartial and sincere” (James 3:16-17). However, if you've ever tried to do this, you will find that it feels like being a shock absorber. And here's the rub. To be a shock absorber means you have to absorb shock. You absorb the insults, bitterness, misunderstanding, anger, irrational rage, and the heat that others are feeling. This is painful! Outrageously painful! How in the world are we to find the strength to do this? Only one way.We look to Jesus. We are reminded that our Lord Christ came into this world to absorb all our sin. He took all the pressure and insults we could throw at Him. He absorbed the shock of our judgment and took it down to the grave.Knowing and living in the reality of this gives us, in principle, an unlimited ability to be shock absorbers in our world.Something to think about from The Kingdom Perspective.Matthew 5 (ESV)38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' 39 But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. 41 And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. 42 Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Do you ever dream of having a guitar only to realize it's five—maybe 10!—times outside your budget? It's probably because of one of these seven factors that determine a guitar's price. In this episode, we'll explore why some guitars are more expensive than others. After decades of experience playing, buying, and selling, I've picked up on seven main factors that determine price. Some of the factors are fairly fixed. Some of them are tied to market conditions. But all of them come together to determine the price of a guitar. I'm not saying this is a definitive list. Instead, it's a great starting place for anyone who is wondering why a guitar is as expensive or cheap as it is. I see so many guitarists dismiss a guitar based on its price. Instead of balking at a number or judging it on its value, ask yourself why. Why does it cost that much? Is it because of branding? Materials? Endorsements? Manufactured scarcity? The list goes on.
