TICE Group Turns Returns, Trade-Ins and Resale Into Recovered Value, ASCDI Podcast. TICE Group designs and operates recovery systems for brands and retailers running trade-in, returns, and resale programs at scale. “Any extra dollar I can bring them back is a dollar that goes to profitability — not actually profit, viability,” says Guennael “G” Delorme of TICE Group. “Those returns do have a cost, and we all pay those costs.” In this ASCDI podcast, Doug Green speaks with Guennael of TICE Group about the hidden economics of retail returns, trade-ins, and resale programs. The conversation explores how returns can damage already-thin merchant margins, how those costs ultimately flow back to consumers, and why recovery systems can make a material difference for retailers, brands, and the broader circular economy. Delorme argues that the issue is not simply what happens after a product comes back. It is how much value can be recovered, how efficiently the process can be managed, and whether returns become a margin drain or a strategic recovery opportunity. The discussion also marks TICE Group's growing involvement with ASCDI, as the association continues to expand its coverage beyond traditional ITAD into adjacent areas of recovery, reuse, resale and lifecycle value. For merchants and brands, the opportunity is clear: better recovery can protect value, support profitability and help build more sustainable business models. Learn more at https://tice-group.com.

Conversations From the Pointed Firs

This month on Conversations from the Pointed Firs: a discussion between Peter Neill and Jane Crosen, a self-taught mapmaker who has spent four decades making and interpreting maps, and exploring Maine's landscape. She found her niche in maps and editing working at DeLorme Publishing in Yarmouth, where she compiled the Gazetteer listings for the all-new 1981 edition of the Maine Atlas and began discovering the natural and historic treasures of her home state. Her affinity with maps, Maine, and design inspired her to create a series of hand-drawn maps of Maine coast and lake regions. Along the way she began sharing her passion for map-reading and landscape interpretation through “map-sleuthing” slide talks and workshops. With a growing interest in Downeast Maine's mapping history and heritage landscape, she discovered George N. Colby's historic 1881 atlases of Hancock and Washington counties and found them a fascinating source. Since the original and facsimile editions were out of print, she decided to publish new editions of both atlases, arranging the maps in a more geographically consistent layout. Pairing Colby's archival maps with period photos and excerpts, with an introduction and captions for context, her Coastwise Geographic Edition atlases capture Downeast Maine in the age of sail, in the last glow of a 19th-century coastal economy. FMI visit PointedFirs.org

Delorme, she's known for her cross-genre urban-fantasy series—Caio, Bright Midnight, and Fanning Fireflies—where paranormal romance meets legal drama and metaphysical intrigue. Blending science, spirituality, and storytelling, she explores what lies beneath appearances and how consciousness connects us all, appearing regularly at Comic-Cons and literary festivals across Europe and the U.S.In this episode, Lexy reflects on a life shaped by curiosity, reinvention, and writing as her constant thread. From military-base childhood to law school, MTV band days, and early 23andMe startup life, she traces how each experience fuels her stories. She shares how years of world-building, travel, and spirituality became the foundation for her novels—and how turning writing into a family project keeps her inspired. Defying industry bias and following her instincts, Lexy reminds us that courage means answering the quiet knock of inspiration and living wide open to whatever story comes next.Connect with Lexy Shaw Delorme:WebsiteTikTokInstagramXSoundCloudGet Lexy's books!Let's Connect:WebsiteInstagram Hosted on Acast.
