Do not adjust your speakers, or your headphones. Yes, Ralph Ineson's voice really is that deep and sonorous. And in this week's Empire Podcast, Chris Hewitt sits down with the actor who plays the planet-eating entity, Galactus, in next week's The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and talks about how his voice is his passport. [1:04:38 - 1:20:16 approx] Elsewhere, Chris also has an engrossing chat with Repo Man and Walker director Alex Cox about his days hosting BBC 2's much-missed cinematic gateway, Moviedrome. [30:44 - 44:01 approx] And then Chris is joined in the podbooth by Helen O'Hara and John Nugent to discuss Rachel Zegler in Evita at the London Palladium, chat about the week's movie news, review Friendship, Smurfs, and Four Letters Of Love and, in a lengthier than usual listener question section, programme their ultimate music festival of fictional movie bands. Oh, and Chris coins a nickname for a highly-respected and beloved director. Enjoy.

Vanguardistas have more fun—so if you don't already subscribe to the podcast, join the Vanguard today via Apple Podcasts or extratakes.com for non-fruit-related devices. In return you'll get a whole extra Take 2 alongside Take 1 every week, with bonus reviews, more viewing recommendations from the Good Doctors and whole bonus episodes just for you. And if you're already a Vanguardista, we salute you. Our guest this week is Harry Melling—all grown up after first hitting the big screen as Dudley Dursley in the Harry Potter films. He's here to chat about the latest in a hit parade of pleasingly weird and wonderful post-Potter projects, ‘Harvest'. This trippy period piece sees a mysterious feudal society in an unspecified place and time fall apart after crops fail and sinister strangers arrive. Simon unpacks this unique film with Harry—plus a bit of Potter chat since the HBO reboot has put the wizarding world back in the spotlight. Mark reviews Harvest too—along with two more of this week's biggest cinema releases: ‘Friendship'--a black comedy about male bonding starring Paul Rudd as the new-best-pal-next-door, and ‘Smurfs'--the latest big-screen outing for the little blue fellas. If that didn't sound like a bit of Mark-bait already, it also stars James Corden. Odds on Kermode going full ‘Grouchy Smurf' on this one? Plus we revisit the Salt Path controversy, including some of your excellent correspondence, run down the Box Office Top 10 and serve up sizeable portions of delectable daftness as always. Send us a messageEver feel like the veil between our world and something beyond is getting thinner? This episode takes you on a journey from the neon lights of Las Vegas to the mysterious shadows captured on doorbell cameras across America.Joe kicks things off with tales from his recent Vegas adventure – complete with embarrassing (but hilarious) footage of his Fremont Street dance moves and an unexpected encounter with a stranger sporting an unusual anatomical accessory. Meanwhile, Gooch shares his liberation from homeownership, having sold his fixer-upper house to return to the simpler life of apartment living. But the heart of this episode explores something far more mysterious. Remember those 1980s rumors about Smurfs being evil or representing the seven deadly sins? We're seeing the same pattern today with the viral Labubu dolls that are allegedly coming to life, causing physical harm to owners, and harboring sinister origins. Is it mass hysteria or something more? Most compelling are the strange entities increasingly captured on cameras nationwide – shadowy figures lurking in Compton, unusual cloud formations taking humanoid shapes, and unexplained sounds echoing through New York City nights. While many attribute these to extraterrestrial visitors, we offer a different perspective: these manifestations might be spiritual entities becoming more visible as civil unrest and societal tensions rise.Could what we're witnessing be the early signs of something biblical? Are these supernatural occurrences connected to the increasing polarization and anger permeating our world? We don't claim to have all the answers, but we're not afraid to ask the questions others won't.Join us for an unfiltered conversation about the thin line between the world we know and the one we don't. Whether you're a skeptic or a believer, this episode will leave you looking at those strange videos on your social feed with fresh eyes.Find us on Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and all major podcast platforms. And remember – the truth might be stranger than we're ready to admit.Support the showSupport our podcast paypal.me/theetalkerspodcastE-Mail: theetalkers4us@gmail.com https://theetalkers.buzzsprout.com/shareFacebookthee•talkers•podacast (@theetalkers_podcast) | Instagramtheetalkers_podcast1 - Twitch(3) Theetalkers1 (@theetalkers1) / TwitterThee Talkers Podcast: Unscripted - YouTubepatreon.com/theetalkerspodtiktok.com/@theetalkerspodcasttheetalkers.buzzsprout.comhttp://streaming.radio.co/s2bfbdb755/listen.m3u
