By 2002, Stephan King's bibliography would seem to have all been adapted ten fold. Yet, a team of producers called the Banana Brothers were sure they had found a way to draw more blood from the King moneymaking stone. They snagged the rights to The Mangler, found a way to cast loved by the horror community Lance Henriksen in a key role, and hired Michael Hamilton Wright to write and direct a sequel to 1995's The Mangler. The result? A film that looked like one of dozens of cheap Mattix knockoffs, featuring a techno soundtrack and a plot involving kids trapped in a school with tech based security. A plot, that has EVERYTHING to do with King's original 1978 short story. Listen to Garrett, Matt, and Adam as they continue to dredge through all the Night Shift adaptations, and see if Adam has finally reached his breaking point.

The psychology of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship is a fascinating area. Let's face it – it can sometimes seem completely bizarre that someone might leave a possibly well-paid and secure job in order to follow their entrepreneurial dream. Yet this is exactly what some people do, despite all the risks and challenges involved. So what is the “psychology of entrepreneurship”? And what is it that makes entrepreneurs so unique?About our guest…Ute Stephan is Professor of Entrepreneurship at King's Business School, King's College London, a Fellow of the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP) and a 21st Century Entrepreneurship Fellow. She serves as Associate Editor at the Journal of Management and at Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice. From 2015-2019 she was Editor-in-Chief of Applied Psychology: An International Review and from 2019-2022 Consulting Editor at the Journal of International Business Studies. As an expert on the Psychology of Entrepreneurship, Ute explores how individuals and societies can thrive through entrepreneurship. Ute's research builds evidence on how contexts (culture and institutions) shape entrepreneurship and well-being, and how entrepreneurship, in turn, can help to build more inclusive societies. You can find out more about Ute's research here: https://sites.google.com/site/stephanute/home Some relevant articles co-authored by Ute on the psychology of entrepreneurship are as follows:Gorgievski, M. So great to have Blöthar the Berserker back on Talkin' Rock. If you're in the southeast Michigan area you'll be able to meet and get a photo with him at Astronomicon on March 3rd and 4th. He tells me what's happening with the band, a lot of which he said he can't talk about yet. He did tell me that they guys are working on a very big project. Kind of an album/movie project that sounds interesting. We talk about horror movies and the streaming service Shudder. He tells me about working with Lzzy Hale on their song "The Cutter". "She's such a great singer and great musician." He went on "We consider her a sister to GWAR". I asked him about the future of GWAR. Is there an end date? Will other guys fill in? "GWAR is in it for the long haul" He talks about their new "products". "There's no end to how we'll prostitute ourselves." You can check out their site for more details on that. LOL Up next, it's former MLB pitcher, Bronson Arroyo. He has a new album out called Some Might Say. It's a very 90s based album, as he explained to me that he's just a prisoner to what he was influenced on. He put out an album of covers about 15 years ago, which he had Stephan King voice a part of it. We talked about that, as well as him asking Eddie Vedder for some tips.  We did talk a litttle baseball, and rockers who are huge fans. I've never met him before, but rest assured, I'll see him next time he's in town.  -Meltdown- https://gwar.net/ https://www.astronomicon.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=HC_Search_Display&gclid=CjwKCAiAl9efBhAkEiwA4ToripXhPBe_m-sQoJ5f5CVb04-MFPFPLflGPcz_duXbYl23fK4N971H-xoC_QcQAvD_BwE https://wrif.com/podcasts/talkin-rock-with-meltdown/ https://wrif.com/podcasts/track-x-track/

If something affects or disturbs you so much that you want to respond to it through a story that you write, that can be a pretty powerful form of inspiration! But it depends on how you handle it. For example, Stephan King's acclaimed novel Misery was inspired by nasty interactions he had with fans after he published a fantasy novel. This story was very well received and even turned into a popular movie. And then there are other ways to handle it… Popular fantasy author JK Rowling felt personally attacked by responses to her public stance on social media that transwomen aren't really women, so she incorporated the episode into a fictional story (a detective series she writes), where a creator had to deal with unfair and extreme criticism. This isn't necessarily a bad thing to do, but the way she handled it was less inspiration and more just a rant about her own experiences only slightly fictionalised. It was so poorly done that it even disappointed fans of her detective series that have no stake in her social media battles. There are good ways to handle rants like this in fiction and bad ways, and we're going to talk about both! Have you ever used a negative real world expereince as inspiration for a story? I know I have, but I always keep it subtle, unlike some. This week Gunwallace has given us a theme to GOP Nuts - Gunwallace note: “With apologies to Vince Guaraldi” - Why? Because this is such a cool, jazzy “Peanuts” sounding theme and Vince Guaraldi was the master behind the themes for the animated version of Peanuts… which is what the “GOP Nuts” is stylistic parodying in its spoof of the American Republican party! It's an easygoing theme driven by the low notes of a piano, a breathy flute, brush tapping on the drums, a cheeky, warbling trumpet, a plucked double bass, and a zoo full of goats! Like most horror fans, I love Stephan King! Usually I don't get around to reading, or in this case listening, to his novels before seeing the adaptations, but in this extremely rare case I did! Hot off of finishing the The Outsider series on HBO, and recently the audiobook, I decided to compare the two for TIB33! This is pretty much one big spoiler for both the series and the book so tread lightly my friends.... We have a WEBSITE that you can check out now too, this is a dream come true! www.hauntinglybeautifulpodcast.com Loving the show? Of course you are and I want to hear about it! Make sure to leave some love, or some hate if you want to be that person, at any of the following! Now shame on you if you have not seen the original but we here at G2ta will not hold it against you if you haven't. We go deep in how this could have easily been avoided from the get-go. On this week's episode the Horror Junkies get together to discuss body horror. This genre of Horror movies, is a close favorite to all of us and we could not wait to start talking about it. We start the show off by describing what body horror really means, and discuss some of our favorite movies that fall into this are of horror. In our Horror Junkies News segment, Patrick tells us about some upcoming tv shows being released soon. Spike Tv is giving us it's version of Stephan King's The Mist and Netflix, the show giant, is giving us an Addams Family show. Two shows the Horror Junkies are can't wait to sink their teeth into. Today in Horror History, we found out that there was a 1979 Horror release titled Nosferatu the Vampyre directed by Werner Herzog, surprising enough, this movie has an 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. Also released was the 1940 Black Friday, directed by Arthur Lubin, and start Boris Karloff. In our Versus segment we pitted The Thing (1982) against Grant (Slither) in probably the grossest sounding fight you can imagine. We won't go any further in saying who we thought would win, your just going to have to listen and find out. As usual, we love hearing from our listeners and if you have anything that you would love to add to our show, feel free to email us at info@horrorjunkiespodcast.com. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/horrorjunkiespodcasts/support

SobieCasts's are finally back! In this cast, Sobie and Drew talk about all of the big budget movies coming out in 2017. They play a podcast classic game of 'In' or 'Out' about the big movies of 2017, some of their answers may surprise you. They talk about the new M. Night Shyamalan movie "Split" They decide that 'Lego-Batman' might be the best superhero movie of the year, Sobie has a bold prediction about "John Wick 2" Sobie and Drew are so in on "Logan" they can hardly contain themselves, They talk about the probable disappointment in "Kong: Skull Island", their hesitations over the live-action "Beauty and the Beast", they ask if the new "Power Rangers" will take place in the Breaking Bad universe, how Dom Terretto will always win them over for the new "The Fate of the Furious" movie. They talk about the excitement for the new 'Guardians of the Galaxy', then talk how they are very interested in the new 'Alien: Covenant" movie, they crap all over "Baywatch", and crap even harder on the new "Pirates of the Caribbean." They talk about their insane excitement for "Wonder Woman," then talk about how the Transformers franchise has let them down way too much in the past, talk about the de-aging of Marisa Tomei who is in "Spider-Man: Homecoming," Sobie is over the world for "War of the Planet of the Apes," they talk briefly about Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk," and wax poetic over Idries Elba in the Stephan King adaptation, "The Dark Tower." They get excited for "Blade Runner 2049," Sobie thinks Thor: Ragnorak might suck, They both think long and hard about the new Justice League movie that raises way too many red flags to get excited about, and finish up by talking about Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which didn't have a title when they recorded the episode.
